I liked this place. It was a bit expensive and not feet filling for the money, but the food was good- a step above fast food, but not by much. I'd come back, but I'm not making a special trip.

Overcooked kimchi fried rice SMALL for $5, almost inedible. The Korean rib dish for $18 is mostly rice and vegetables and although it is beef, there is not that much of it. A scoop of Kimchi for $1. And a small side of dumplings $4. $30 altogether. What a ripoff!!!! I am not going back.

Decent enough. You order kind of like Subway or Chipotle, in that you pick the basic meat/wrap (or bowl), and then they add in your choice of toppings and/or sauces as you watch. So the Korean BBQ chicken as a base in my wrap was tasty, but the veggies were a bit of an eclectic selection, and it just wasn't obvious how to build a really good combination. The sweet potato fries were great ... but they clearly lost our order until we reminded them at the end. Not a bad experience, but it might be better with some standard configurations to help get you started (i.e. Joe's favorite: chicken, grilled zucchini, raw carrots, and soy sesame sauce)?

Not authentic Korean food. Very Americanized, Chipotle style ripoff in my opinion. I also thought it was a bit overpriced for the amount/quality of food received. The service was extremely slow (one guy was waiting on us while one guy was sitting in the dining area chatting). My tempura took almost 10 min. to make and was not hot when I received it. I would suggest getting a bowl over a wrap (that is loaded with rice to fill it up) and loading up on as many veggies as they have, but i will not be going back here.

This place is amazing! It's a hidden Frederick gem. Fresh vegetables and korean meat with amazing sauces! It's in between fast food and sit down...because you will have to wait 10-15 minutes for your food but you can easily take it to go (I always get all the veggies with rice and chicken and green and red sauce to go). It is worth the wait! I hope they stay forever - it's rare for Frederick to get such great asian culture and food like gogibop!

I was not impressed either. Not sure what is Korean about the food. I popped in looking for a tasty meal and the place was empty- granted they just opened at the beginning of December and they are next to a CiCi's Pizza which offers the low cost buffet. The wrap I got was OK the jalapeno ranch dressing offered a good kick to the wrap of beef, rice, corn and green peppers. I had to wait for them to cook up the beef . The sides I ordered were the sweet potato fries which were soggy and cold like they had been sitting for a while and the dumplings had no flavor and were deep fried. Maybe after they have been open for a while I will try again but for $13 meal it wasn't worth it.

I really enjoyed the beef bowl. I had the grilled vegtables added--onions, zucchini, peppers and mushrooms. It was fantastic! Very peppery and flavorful. I personally would not bother with the wraps--stick to the bowls. The dumplings were very good as well. The layout is inefficient and the young men behind the counter were doing their best but seemed overwhelmed. I'll still go back. Can't beat it for a quick meal.

First off, I do have to agree with the other posters who state that Chipotle or California Tortilla type of joint using Korean BBQ as their template. I will also note that this is not what I would typically think of as Korean BBQ either. Now with that said, here's my take. Drove down from Walkersville around 1900 on a dark and stormy spring night to find the place pretty much empty. I went right to work ordering a beef wrap with sesame dressing and lettuce along with rice and the cracker thingies for texture. I did this pretty much for the sake of being able to separate out the taste of the beef itself. On top of that I ordered a side of chicken tempura. They make this on the fly so I had a four to five minute wait for the chicken. Since I grabbed this to go, I dropped my wrap on top of the defroster on my Jeep, cranked to hot, and drove home knowing the wrap would be toasty warm.. Since I'm a total goob and a risk taker, I ate both count them two tempura chicken strips as I drove. They were a decent size, so I can't bark about two of them were three dollars, and since it wasn't raining, I didn't fear being a "distracted driver" unlike that grouch in the Caravan, who was eating and texting at the same time in the lane next to me. Regardless, I found the strips for the cost to be excellent. Back in Walkersville home of the almighty ghetto lion, I whipped out this bad boy of a wrap and kicked back with a Pepsi Max, turned on Ghost Hunters, and put that beast down like a nineteen year old on his first night out at a club in Ranson. Right off the bat, I found this nearly eight dollar brute to be pretty filling, and pondered whether eating the chicken first on the drive home was such a great idea., Then I noticed I had to get a few bites in on what was already a somewhat soggy dough to find the meat. Of course when I found the meat, it was pretty damn good meat. Lettuce was fine, and the crunchies were soggy but ok. What got me though was half way through the wrap dough went from easily tear-able by teeth to that of trying to chew through a paper bag. On two occasions, I nearly ripped the thing in two. This forced me to slow down and try to figure out how to take another bite before an exploding dough indent would leave rice and sesame sauce on the ceiling. All in all, it was pretty good, a bit pricey as are any places in the premium fast food category, though the ingredients were top notch. However at nearly twelve dollars without even buying a drink, it may be a while before I return. Regardless, don't let that hold you back on trying them.

This place is like a fast food asian place. The owners seemed nice. But the food was way too spicy. If you like your very spicy then it is the place to go. I wished they had something for everyone. Until then my star ratings will remain low.

This place states it is a "Korean BBQ Wraps" establishment. But quite frankly it is a Chipotle/California Tortilla copy using some asian spice. They have Bolls, Wraps and Salads just like the others. Biggest negatives on this place are: - Service is lacking and you do the same as the others but closer to Chipotle but slower and confusing. - Food is not bad but to pay the higher price and get an inferior product is not for me - Other wrap places load em up and the meat portions are to a rounded mounded serving size. Not this place as my wife got three "count then" 1-2-3 pieces of chicken on her bowl. The other three items we got were just as bad. - Flavor wise unimpressive. Go home and cook your fave meat and veg add some soy and a little garlic, some five spice, and a little asian Mirin and you just made you a better starter. - On apps just walk away, the Sweet Potato Fries are nothing to write home about and the pot stickers I thought were going to be pan fried came out deep fried. Who does that? no flavor, no real filling and I imagine comes in a box. I have traveled all over the world and eaten in true Korean BBQ places in Asia and in the US, this is far from it and I would not recommend this place at all. One Star is being over generous. If you want Burrito Wraps & Bowls go to the guys that do it right, heck avoid this place and eat next store at CC's and save your self $20 then go across to Mimi's and have a drink.

Really like their bibimbap. One of the few places around to get great Asian food if you are tired of the Pizza, sandwich or burger fare. Limited selection but prices are reasonable and the food tasty.

I went here for the first time and was not disappointed! I had their beef bulgogi and their dumplings. Delicious! Price is a little bit much for the portion they give you, but the taste is very good.

I'm a huge fan of Koren bbq and this place isn't bad; it's Chipotle style where you can pick your toppings. You can get any of your meat (or vegetarian options) in a bowl with rice or a wrap and all options can be cooked with onions, zucchini and mushrooms. Once your main entree is cooked in the back in a skilled they bring it out and put it in a bowl or wrap and you can choose your toppings (cucumbers, fried wantons, carrots, picked cucumbers, picked radish (must have), etc.). We got the spicy chicken, apparently a customer favorite, which was was really good and the bulgogi. The bulgogi was disappointing, I really love this style of meat and it wasn't as flavorful as other places have it so I don't think i'd get it again. Also, the fried apple dumplings are a must have. It's a crispy outside with an gooey apple filling and it's all sprinkled with powdered sugar.

To put it plainly I was not impressed at all with this place. I visited a place like this in San Francisco a couple months ago and was blown away, authentic bulgolgi and kalbi inside of rice paper with kimchi and all the other traditional korean flavors. This place just does not do the same. Besides the price tag being way overpriced for a wrap, where I can go next door to Chipotle for more meat and a bigger burrito for less money. Another disappointment was in the dumplings. They deep fried them, NO asian culture deep fries dumplings. This was a huge disappointment to me. Pros -Asian Flavor -Different from everything in Frederick Cons -Expensive -Put barely any meat onto the wrap -Deep fried dumplings

It's interesting how different of an experience diners can have at the same place. While I concur that this place is little more than an Asian-flavored version Chipotle, I personally found the wraps to be tasty, generous, and full of flavor. The service the last evening that I visited was over the top friendly, with shrimp and veggies cooked to order, and portions that matched the $7 price tag. They are still getting started ... toying with the menu, adding new sauces, desserts, etc. There were more toppings available the 2nd time than the first, including hot peppers. I can see how this concept might not appeal to some, and how the wait for cooked to order food might not work well during peak hours. But I've been there twice and truly appreciate the fact that food is not sitting in the warmer for long periods. Plus I have a frequent diner card that is halfway filled, and plan to go back at least until it's full. If they keep showing the desire to adapt and improve the concept, and achieve the volumes needed to offer expediated service, this place could catch on. But if they fail to match the value of their local competitors (and Chipotle is certainly one of them), they may struggle to maintain a customer base. But for the time being, they've earned my business.

The suggestion that this is Korean food is insulting to the intelligence of anyone who has ever eaten Korean food before. That's the equivalent of opening a jar of Spaghetti-o's and saying that's Italian food. What sounded like a great idea of Korean wraps (I was picturing slices of Bulgoki with kimchi and other marinated vegetables) is simply very skimpy burritos/wraps with a bit of soy sauce or something to give them a slight Asian flair. The place is beyond disappointing and I never see anyone go in here, I'm not quite sure how they remain open. Anyway, don't waste your time as it's unsatisfying in almost every way unless you just need a quiet place to duck into.

It's not the greatest, but it's not the absolute worst. Kay factor to consider before passing judgement on how "Korean" it is - it's in Frederick, not exactly the melting pot of cities. I don't imagine Frederickans walking in there and ordering bibimbap or knowing what banchan is or looking for their kimchee. I understand that they are trying to appeal to the masses, and that masses is not the crew from Annandale. For what it was, I thought it was decent. I ordered the beef n rice bowl with all veggies, minus tofu and onions, with their gogibop sauce. I could tell the hint of Korean flavor in it, from the marinated beef and the sauce. The veggies were your normal veggies, nothing spectacular (grilled zucchini, muschrooms, cukes, carrots, letuce and corn). I don't suggest getting the corn, it gave it that Chipotle feel for me. I wouldn't discount it for another take. I'm curious to try their side and dessert items (apple dumplings, fried dumplings, mushroom tempura, etc).

We eat here all the time. We've been loyal fans since the opening. I always get the pork, hubby always gets the beef. Everything here is delicious! I love the steak and cheese dumplings with jalepeno ranch dipping sauce. The apple dumplings are great too, my daughter loves them. The owners wife started offering Friday night chicken fried rice and it is to die for!!! I cannot wait to go back every Friday night to eat it again, I've been thinking about it all week! They even have kids meals. Definitely check it out!

I hate to say this, but I'm not a fan of Korean food. I don't like to make sweeping generalizations about the cuisine of an entire country, but so far I've been hugely disappointed with every Korean restaurant that I've eaten at. I love Kimchi and I like bulgogi and I would have knocked over my own Grandmother to get one of the greasy football-sized spring rolls at Hana's when she was still open, but that's where it ends for me. Fortunately, I really don't think anyone's like/dislike of Korean food will enter into the equation at Gogibop. You have a choice of having your meat served in a bowl or wrapped in a tortilla with rice and an assortment of grilled and fresh veggies with a selection of several different sauces to top it off (kind of like a Korean Chipotle). The lady spooning out my meat asked, "Would you like double meat for $1.99?" I said "no" and received a scant 1/4 cup of pork on my bed of rice. She added a mélange of vegetables on top of the meat and a healthy dollop of a habanero/jalapeno sauce that was good, but incredibly hot as you can imagine. My boyfriend got a wrap and she said, "I recommend the jalapeno ranch dressing". Wait a minute...ranch dressing? I'm no expert, but that doesn't sound very Korean. We also got an order of four fried dumplings for $2.99. They were small and greasy and stuffed with mostly vermicelli and air. This is also the second new restaurant that I've tried recently in Frederick that offers nothing to drink but bottled water and fountain drinks. What's up with that? It was OK overall, but we probably won't go back.

What a refreshing change of flavors! We were headed to dinner and saw GogiBop and were intrigued. We walked in right before the dinner rush and we were greeted by the friendliest people. I don't generally eat Korean food but they steered me in the right direction. I ended up getting a bowl with rice, pork (really good) chicken (tasty, but pork is better) and an assortment of delicious warm and cold veggies. They added a spicy sauce and it was yummy. I wanted to try it all. I loved the warm bites and then a pop of cool cucumber. So good. The staff were so incredibly nice. The owner was extremely friendly and the people behind the counter were so helpful and courteous. I would definitely recommend trying it. I'm anxious to go back and fine tune my bowl.

Food: Food is fresh and of high quality. Seasonings are on point as well. Price: Very expensive considering portion size. Getting a chicken wrap costs $10.99, and getting it with Kimchi fried rice as a filling adds on an extra $2, making a wrap cost $13. While the food is fresh and the taste is very good, a wrap should not cost upwards of $10. The chicken wrap is one of the cheaper wraps too (getting this as a bowl option is also expensive for $13). Although the shrimp tempura is made with high quality, fresh shrimp, 5-6 pieces of tempura should not cost $8. Wait time: ~15 minutes or more. May fluctuate depending on how busy the place is. It seems that carry out customers get their food quicker. Service: Mixed feelings. Some waiters are sharp, while others are not. But all are good people and are looking out for their customers to have a good experience. Ambience: Quiet, can get a bit noisy when busy, but nothing deafeningly loud. Overall Jurisdiction: I would definitely come again, but considering the hefty price tag, only when my craving for Gogibop is too strong to handle.

OK, I bumped up a star because I really want to like this place! I love bul go gi (Korean BBQ) and when I saw it, I was really excited. The guy behind the counter was nice and seemed helpful, but the food and fixings looked really shady, old and dry. But we tried it anyway. My daughter had the chicken "bowl". It was served in a styrofoam sub box, and was a lot of dry rice, some chicken, rubbery zucchini, dry looking tofu and a few othrer things. Totally underwhelming. I had the shrimp BBQ wrap. The shrimp were OK, but they had not been deveined. That is just gross and unacceptable in my opinion. The sauce for both things was the same, and I believe that it was bottled Korean BBQ sauce, from the Asian Market. I sampled some from my pantry, and it looked and tasted exactly the same. It's GOOD, but I expected something better. So, it was a not too terrible place, with a below to average product, but it was terribly expensive for what we got. The "big money" items were about 1/4 cup of chicken and 5 medium shrimp, but the bill (carry-out, no tip) was $21. Ridiculous. I mean - it's an expensive location, but that was ridiculous. We also had 4 dumplings, which were tasty, but seriously, they were the size of a half dollar each. Barely 2 bites, and almost $5 for 4 of them but they WERE the best thing on the menu. Sadly, I will not be going back. Ever. It's a shame, and the boy was really nice so I feel sorry for him, but this place is an absolute "AVOID" in my opinion. There is Firehouse subs, Mimi's Cafe. Panda Express, CiCi's pizza, a sushi restaurant, a Greek restaurant, a sports bar and a Chipotle (plus a bunch of others) all right there. Any of them would be better and cheaper than this place.

Pretty nice and simple Korean restaurant. Despite the mustard yellow menu, still pretty good. Their meat are fresh and their dumplings are fresh as well. They claim that the dumplings are made in their restaurant and are always fresh - I think I will agree with that claim. The pork dumplings we ordered were nice and hot when they brought them out and every bite was fresh - so yummy. The sauce they have were pretty good too. They also make their own sauces in the restaurant - that's kind of cool, it assures freshness. The employees are very accommodating. The guy who was there, asked us if we wanted more sides. I gladly said yes. I guess since the demographic around the area is mostly middle-class Caucasians, they don't give them all the sides because if they don't know what the sides are, they won't try them. Just an FYI, if you're craving for some kimchi you have to ask for it. They don't serve the kimchi on a regular, just by request. Last few words... I think they can do better at marketing, that way they'll have more customers. The place is barely noticeable unless you are purposely looking for it. Some items are also pricey compared to similar places, but overall, a nice cute pleasant experience!

This place used to be pretty great. Prices are too high, quality and portions are low. Wraps will now run you about $18 dollars. No drink, no sides, just the wrap. The steak was grey in color and has the texture of a sponge. They were nice enough to give me a refund without a hassle. I really want to like this place again, but things have been sliding downhill since they've expanded their menu.

Having lived in Korea for two years, I know good Korean food. My sis and I ordered the kimchee fried rice (with shitake mushrooms and tofu) and bibimbop. Both were tasty and we gobbled it up. Our criticism is that the portions are meager for the price. My bibimbop was piping hot with plenty of rice, but that was all that was plentiful in the bowl.

I learned about this restaurant because the guy helping me at Home Depot told me about how his wife owns this Korean place down the street from my office. I am a fan of Korean BBQ but I'm not a fan of really spicy food. However, today I felt like trying something different. I think my interest piqued when I got to the front door. They have a sign that points out how their fresh their food is, listing points of the freshness and quality of the food they make there. I would later find out just how well they stick to those standards. For the record I'm no fan of spicy food. But wow. The chicken was so tasty. I really thoroughly enjoyed this meal. I mean, towards the end of the meal, I realized I was holding the bowl up with my hand, suddenly, I realized I was wolfing my food down, it was so good. And I wasn't really hungry either, having just eaten breakfast two hours earlier. This food was good. I went with the Chicken, avoided the jalapenos but went with the sweet and spicy sauce instead of soy sauce. The gentlemen serving me was very friendly and helped me out with my selection. I think I was really taken back by the combination of fresh in the plate I was eating. Yes the food was a little spicy, but I found myself enjoying the spiciness because the white rice acted like a great compliment. And the medley of quality vegetables added to it just made the flavor pop. My only gripe might have been that towards the end of the meal, I was finding myself saving the chicken pieces to be eaten with my last remaining bites. This meal could probably use about twenty percent more chicken. Its also possible I just really liked the chicken. After a bad experience at Honey Pig, I couldn't resist giving this little place a 5 star rating. The restaurant was clean, the decor was simple yet stylish, and they even offered real silverware even though I opted for chopsticks. When I was done, I felt like I had eaten a meal with much satisfaction. I got everything I was looking for and a pretty darn good price at that.

Decent Korean spot. This is a Chipotle style place where you can get any of you're entrees in a bowl or wrap and you then choose your toppings. We got the spicy chicken in a bowl, which is a customer favorite, and it was quite good. We also got the bulgogi in a bowl which was a bit disappointing. This is my favorite Korean dish and it was not as flavorful as I'm used to. They have a small but fresh selection of veggies to add to your dish, pickled relish is great, and all meats can be cooked with onions, zucchini and mushrooms. Also definitely get the fried apple dumplings. They have a nice fried outside and a gooey apple filling, delicious.

Unfortunately, I would give this place 0 stars if I could. I have lived in South Korea and have Korean food all over the U.S. This place might be one of the more expensive Korean restaurants that I have eaten at. And it's no restaurant. Gogibop is trying to do too many things. Instead of simplifying the menu and working on price and quality, they have become a food place with no vision and lack of understanding of it consumer base. This review pains me to write because it is the only Korean food place in Frederick. But no Korean, chipotle-style food should cost $18 for just one person... Please please work on your vision. Simplify your menu. Be more Korean and less American. Your food is good but overpriced. Stick to your strengths and maybe long time customers will come back. Think emart or lotte mart style food and quality and business will grow! But for now: (goodbye)

The food is SOOOO good! The prices are unbelievably expensive! Whenever we leave we say never again, because a lunch for two is $44 including tip. And that includes not much food, certainly not enough to ever take home any leftovers. We have come since the beginning and watched the prices go higher and higher. Right now for a bowl that is NO bigger, in fact, MUCH less, than a chipotle steak bowl is literally $15. The veggies they give are extremely, actually shockingly, few. If this were the price of a chipotle bowl, the line would be out the door because of word of mouth. We would really be here weekly. I'm sure that they can't do this because it's not popular enough to sustain their expenses, but with much higher volume in customers I believe this would be a booming restaurant. I want them to succeed badly because it's dang good, but they get my business about once every four months. I can get an outback special with a hefty amount of food for the exact same price of a small bulgogi bowl. Frustrating. For real, very very frustrating!!!! Please please please consider drastically dropping your prices and I promise I will bring A LOT of new patrons!!

We were in Franklin for some reason and we decided to stop here for dinner. GogiBop is a good idea that could use some more customers. Come on people, Korean food is the new Chinese food. Act like you knew. This place is like a Korean Chipotle. You can have it in a wrap or a bowl and that's about it. The staff here is fantastic, they're great folks and are willing to take the time to help you make your menu choice. The food was pretty dang good. Just spicy enough and the vegetables were fresh and tasty. The only complaint I would have is the rice had been sitting there for a while so it was a little crunchy.

So I have mixed feelings about this place. I have eaten at this place since first opening. At first the energy was there and the food was plentiful both in the assembly line bench and in your wrap/bowl. Lots of people liken the ordering style to Chipotle but there really is no comparison to efficiency. Since opening, the energy has lessened as well as the serving size for what they charge. While I understand that maybe holding onto the business is critical (as I see it) there should be a better way to order what you want and have assembly go smoother. It could be that the flow of customers is slow going or just comes and goes in spurts and they only cook up the meats as needed to prevent waste. Don't get me wrong. I'm all about freshness. The food is good despite the small selection. It's just more made-to-order now (at the slow times I've gone) and not so much ready to assemble like the hoppin' Chipotle. When you're the only one there you have to go to the counter a few times to put in your meat order, state what heated items you want on it, come back to state what you want from the cold items and then go get it when it's cooked up. Just not efficient. Yes, the grilled veggies and meat are freshly made and you do get the feeling you're in someone's house and grandma is cooking up in the back but still. I'm just not sure how sustainable this is. Being the only 'Korean' place (right now), I think that they can do so much more. I hear that an actual Korean restaurant will open off Carroll Creek. I hope so. I miss Hana.

A Korean version served Chipotle style? Yes, please... Whenever we travel to Frederick for business, we usually eat at our standard places... But, not too long ago, GogiBop opened up in the same little shopping center as our usual haunts. Being Korean BBQ, it immediately had my attention. We walked in and were immediately greeted by a smiling and super helpful guy. When he asked what we wanted, I told him it was our first time and asked what he recommended. He told us about their offereings - wraps, fried dumplings, sweet potato fries, grilled zucchini, and tempura - all rolled into one tasty package... I ordered the spicy chicken with all the extras - jalapeno ranch, cucumber, rice - and it was pretty amazing. The only thing I would add would be a bit more flavor. I went in expecting some truly interesting Asian spice and, while the food was definitely good, there wasn't anything that would make go out of my way to come back. Everything was good, especially the dumplings, but it kinda just left me with the feeling that I had seen all they had to offer. I applaud the idea and I truly hope they stick around long enough to prefect what they're trying to do, but for me, I don't want a place not to have a unique note and here, I didn't hear it.

Friendly service but the serving size is small. A bit expensive & not as flavorful as traditional Korean food I grew up eating. It's a good place to eat if you want something quick. I had the kimchi jigae, kimchi mandue & my kids had the Kalbi. It was just...okay. My kids were disappointed in the kalbi's serving size. I want to go back & try their kimbop & bulgogi.

So I'll be fair and rate Gogibop based on two things: 1. How it holds up against comparable places such as Chipotle, California Tortilla, Panda Express and Five Guys (fast food, fresh cooked, customized w/fresh veggies.) 2. How the food tastes compared to authentic Korean eateries. Ill start by saying the idea is absolutely admirable.. Korean food made fast and fresh, what is there to not like? Well, execution seems to be the problem.. Also, the price is RIDICULOUS. My friend, sister and I came here after looking at the pictures posted by other Yelpers which made the food look amazing.. They weren't wrong. The food photographed very well, just didn't follow through with flavor. :-( I ordered the Kalbi beef bowl which is marinated short ribs, grilled, served over your choice of white or kimchi fried rice (for an extra charge.) Each bowl/wrap can be customized with veggies (certain ones for an extra charge) a fried egg (extra charge) and then topped off at the end with fresh veggies such as lettuce, carrots, cucumbers, pickled cucumbers, and kimchi radish. My sister ordered the kimchi fried rice with sausage while my friend ordered the Bulgogi beef bowl. (None of us knew we could've got it in a wrap.) We also got a large order of kimchi and pork pan fried dumplings (looked delicious in pictures online) alongside with 3 canned sodas. (fountain drink machine was "out of service." :-(]) our total came out to $60 for three bowls, three cans of soda and a dumpling order! EXPENSIVEEEE!?!? We waited about ten or fifteen minutes before our food was ready (not bad of they serve everything fresh but this is supposed to be fast food! When the bowls came out the dumplings did as well, we topped everything off including sauces such as Sriracha Mayo, soy sesame, Korean BBQ sauce and others that I don't remember. Everything was super hot and fresh, quality was not lacking by any means. The veggies were crisp, the meat tender and grilled to perfection BUTTTTTT..... Execution was lacking. The rice seemed gummy, as if they use a glutinous sticky rice; I think a nice fluffy jasmine rice would've been a better vehicle for the toppings. The Kalbi (which I compared to my mom's almost famous recipe and other comparable Korean BBQ restaurants) was lacking... The taste was there but it was as if they ALMOST had it and it slipped away.. Idk what it was but I know they could do way better, the taste was very mild compared to other places. Same goes for the Bulgogi beef as well. The veggies and sauces were great but the main stars such as the meat and rice just didn't stack up well... The dumplings were lacking in flavor as far as the filling goes (didn't taste like kimchi much) the fry was also very greasy.. So the crispness wasn't able to balance that out. All in all, I more than likely wouldn't come back to Gogibop sadly... I really love the idea but for the price I paid; I deff was not impressed at all. Service was very friendly however. Not bad.

I enjoy Korean Food very much. BOTTOM LINE: It is VERY EXPENSIVE. The meal size in comparison is SMALL. Example, it is the difference between getting a Large Salad with all of the Veggies, Served in a Beautiful Bowl to a small side salad in a to go container. The amount of meat you receive is less than a child's portion. OUTCOME: Try it as there are very few Korean Restaurant's around. Still will travel to GogiBop when I have a taste for Korean.

The best beef quality for the price compared to Chinese food and everything is made fresh daily! Love the Korean hot bbq sauce.

I love Gogibop! I've never had a problem with skimpy portions. Never encountered old veggies, either. The owner is super nice and always willing to help you decide what you may like. One secret -- you have to ask for the kimchi. They keep it in a kimchi fridge under the counter.

This was a pleasant surprise on my way to wisp from dc. We stopped near Frederick for dinner and the strip mall had all typical chain restaurants. This one is on the far end and if you want to mix up your normal quick food stops, Korean BBQ wraps are what's in order! The tempura pork was pretty good and you can get as many toppings as you'd like. The process to order is similar to chipotle but they cook your food after you order so it takes a few minutes. All in all it's worth a stop simply for a change of pace.

Great food, and good fusion of Korean Food with an American style. After traveling to Korea I can say this place could easily be open in Korea and be successful. Only 2 downsides, slightly pricy and they no long do frequent customer discounts.

Since Frederick is getting more diverse, i was really excited to see a new addition. Knowing the trend of Korean food being on a rise, i had to try this place out. It was a Saturday evening that my friends and i was driving around and found this place. Walking in, it wasn't crowded at all. The decoration was very simple. They had a few tables here and there. With a soda dispenser to your right upon entering. The whole concept of this place is Chipotle but with Korean food. You can still get your food in a tortilla or a bowl. Though your burritos aren't as big, you get a decent amount. You have your regular rice and you get to choose your meat. After talking to the person that was making my food, he recommended getting the Chicken and Pork because they complimented each other. After that i got pretty much all the vegetables they offered with the sesame soy sauce. And i got a Arizona Iced tea to top it off. My total came out to be around 10 bucks. Surely i understand that i got both meats but let's just say you don't get as much as you would in Chipotle. My food was somewhat cold which wasn't very appetizing. I wish that it could have been much more warmer. Also since Korean food is typically really spicy, they have to remember that not everyones accustomed to their spices. Thus they should offer types of meat that may be more suitable for kids or warn people that they're meats are heavily marinated so it could be spicy for some. All in all, the food was alright. I've definitely had better Korean food in my days. I'm not quite sure if i'm going to return anytime soon. Unless they change up their menu or lower the prices, i think i'll stick to Chipotle. My server was really nice though. He was even trying to get 87 cents from the tip jar for me. But i told him that it was alright.

Korean BBQ?!? I was so excited at the prospect, so on a lazy Sunday evening I thought I'd give it a try. Every time I've driven by, it hasn't seemed too busy. Today wasn't any different, but they were new, so who knows. Seeing the menu, I was immediately skeptical, but since I'd never tried, I tried to keep an open mind. Today's choice, bowl, beef, double meat and a side order of dumplings. Dumplings were a little greasy and not very flavorful on their own. But you may ask, "The dumplings are fried, aren't they going to be defacto greasy?" Well if done right, sure, but not here. The bowl was ok. Yeah, the food is very reminiscent of the other wrap/bowl joints in the area. Not spectacularly better, just a different flavor. The sauces are spicy for sure, they offered kimchi if I wanted. They claim Korean BBQ is supposed to be a little sweeter than "western" BBQ. That may be true, but the food lacked a really savory component to offset the sweet common in other Korean BBQ I've had. There is a frequent visit stamp card, but I'm still undecided whether this place is something I'd revisit on a regular basis.

I'm tired of the same old pizza/sandwich/burrito/chinese choices around here. So the main thing I like about this place is simply that it's something different- finally! Frederick needs variety bad, and aside from one Thai and one Indian restaurant that I like (I'm talking in the $-$$ range, since I prefer takeout), it's mostly predictable, unimaginative food all over town. Even if you don't care for GogiBop's narrow variety of ingredients to add into your pork (great), beef (good), or other (haven't tried) wraps or bowls, if you think about it, the amount of choices you have is really about the same as Chipotle (I still don't understand why Chipotle does such a great business- Baja Fresh kicks their butt in my opinion). Chipotle's menu is BORING and the taste always reminds me "oh right, this is why I don't come here more often". Anyway, I've digressed. The pork wrap with some veggies and the hot pepper relish was quite good. The beef wrap wasn't quite as good, unfortunately the beef wasn't very flavorful. That was indeed a surprise. Nonetheless, I'm definitely be back, not only for the variety, but for the freshness of the ingredients too. Indeed, the service is a little slow, but they are new and hopefully they will get everything streamlined.

Reading these other reviews bum me out! Are you people crazy? I have been coming here for quite sometime now and this place totally rules! It is very unsuspecting from the outside but the food is major legit! I always get the pork( wrap or bowl form) and it is awesome! It's this simple... Do you like delicious meat, veggies and sauces? Of course you do! You cannot go wrong here! this place is money! Super reasonable as well. A Wrap and a bottle of water is under 10 bucks! The staff is super friendly as well. They're always saying hello when you walk in and goodbye when you walk out. They are willing to give you suggestions or samples if you need them. The spicy sauces they put on the wraps are killer! i love spicy and this place does it just right. Spicy but with flavor... not like some boring tabasco sauce or something lame like that. This place is a definite must try and try again and again. Just keep going there! The people are super sweet and the food is awesome! This place needs to stick around! Go there. Trust me. I know food.... For real

Had the Shrimp Bowl. A bargain at $8. It was fast, cheap and very tasty! I really liked the jalapeño/habanero sauce.

My wife and I both had pork wraps, with a variety of veggies, sweet potato fries and (deep fried) dumplings. I was worried that the amount of meat and rice in the wrap was small, but after I loaded it up with veggies it was very substantial. The flavor of the pork was good, and similar to the kind of spicy pork you can get at the food courts attached to various Korean groceries (Assi/Lotte/H-Mart) in the area. The veggies were good and fresh. I got extra red pepper sauce, which is made every dayfrom Korean red pepper paste (gochujang). It made a for a much spicier meal than what you can typically find for lunch in Frederick. The fries were cut like standard small french fries, which turn out crispier than the soggy steak-fry-style ones in other restaurants. The fries are sweet and go nicely with the slightly salty red pepper sauce and sesame soy sauce. The dumplings were crispy and filled with fresh rice noodles and veggies, and were very good. They were great when dipped in the sesame soy sauce! I haven't seen this particular type of dumpling before, and so I wonder if they are made in-house. I can see from other reviews that people have not had such good experiences. Since we were there right after they opened on Sunday, things were hot and fresh. The owner told us this was their 5th week after opening. You can tell this is a new restaurant, and one that's trying to do something new and unique. They are definitely in an awkward phase where they are trying to start out lean, without risking wasting food, and without having too many employees on board. I could see how this way of operating might lead to inconsistent service and food. As for the "nothing Korean about this place" complaint, I am not sure what they were missing since they have gochujang sauce, kim chi, and good bulgogi beef and pork. I've had these things with Korean friends at food courts that serve authentic dishes for Korean expats.

My husband and I visited this place a week and a half ago with our neighbors. We all tried different things. - First off, there is nothing Korean about this place, and nothing is prepared in that style of cooking. We were never asked if we wanted a wrap and our food was served in bowls automatically. - Unless you are a bird, this isn't the place to go if you are looking for anything more than an appetizer sized portion. The portion sizes are ridiculously small and they skimp on everything, from rice to veggies and especially their meats. - Long wait for small quantities coming out of the kitchen. Not sure how they expect to serve people when they are preparing one zucchini or two scoops of beef at a time. - Overpriced! The serving portions are small compared for what you pay. A regular chicken bowl starts at just under $7. The second time we went, my husband ordered the double beef which cost an additional $1.99 and was served a half a scoop extra. A double beef bowl is over $10 and definitely not worth it considering how little they put it in. - Taste is nothing to write home about. The beef was tasty, but the shrimp was not fresh and tasted like iodine and the chicken was just 'ok'. Food is not consistent from week to week. The fried mini apple dumplings were a novelty for the kids, but I found then greasy and unimpressive. We went back a few days ago and were even more disappointed. I chose not to order anything. My husband braved ordering the double beef expecting more than the regular, and was sadly disappointed. While it is nice to see new and different kinds of eateries in Frederick, sadly, I doubt this place will be around for long. We definitely won't be going back.
