We are always looking for a good place to eat around this area when we have to drive up to PA on a weekend from DC. We always seem to get hungry right around here. My buddy suggested this place, as he used to work in Frederick. This place is a nice little gem. The fried chicken and fries are awesome. You'll have to wait 10-15 minutes for them to fry the stuff up, but it's totally worth it. At least you can be sure that your dinner hasn't been sitting under a heat lamp for hours. The dinner rolls are kind of crappy, but hey, it's all part of what makes this place lovable.

On the 4th of July, this place makes me proud to be living in America. This is One of the few mom and pop places left, and is run by such a sweet elderly couple who immigrated here. Although it took a little time to order, it was well worth the wait. Pretty cool atmosphere also- you will feel welcomed and almost like you are being taken care of by family. Best part of all, they aren't afraid to show their religious values. They forgot to give me a side dressing, but tracked me down in my car in the parking lot. That's service! A hidden gem! I got the grilled chicken sub combo- and it was a great choice. I will come back often.

My review of Chicken Basket is lucky number 7! Woop woop! So anyway, I think I've mentioned before I'm not a big chicken wing fan. I'll eat them and they're cool but it's not my go-to appetizer or meal. So it shouldn't surprise you that my absolute favorite thing at CB are the crinkle cut fries. They are GOOD fries. The outide is always perfectly crisp and golden. They've always been served fresh out the frier and piping hot to me. Best of all is the generous dusting of Old Bay. Murrland. Yeah I like the wings but mostly I get them for the bf. Maybe I'm weird but I prefer them naked. Hot wings are cool too. Bbq not so much but he likes them. I think 10 wings and fries are like $8 at lunch which is a great deal especially since the fry portion is Five Guys-esqe. The grilled chicken sandwich was a tiny little patty and a huge bun. The chicken strips were okay since they didn't have a whole lot of breading. Wing lovers will love Chicken Basket. Pious folks will love the religious totchkes for sale at the counter. And lazy fatsos like me love the free delivery!

Check what the cost of each item is when paying to be sure you are not over charged. I have been overcharged once eating in and once when delivered. Excuse for overcharge eating in...no excuse. They rung things up without giving me an itemized ticket and I figured it out when I left and called and was given store credit. They seem to ring things up according to what they hope won't be questioned or checked........my experience there. The excuse for the overcharged for the delivered order was first, the website prices didn't represent the actual prices for items. But when the item prices they used were given to me, they were the same as those on the website. Silence.....next excuse was there was a $1 charge to use a credit card and a $1 charge for delivery, cited nowhere.....don't even know if that was truly the case or just an attempt to make me back down and justify the overcharge. Unlike most businesses they don't give you itemized charges reflecting prices of items, they just write down the items. Even with that I still had a remaining overcharge of $1.20 after the 6% tax was added. I didn't ask for it back, but told the woman I spoke with on the phone to let the owner know this needs to stop. The eat in overcharge was more and I got store credit, as I stated. There is no transparency here and it is needed. Bad business practice. I would be willing to pay more if it was charged HONESTLY. Overcharging even a small amount adds up as profit for them over the long term. 100 customers a day, overcharged $1 is $100 a day dishonest profit. SHAME ON THEM!!!! ASK FOR ITEMIZATION OF CHARGES BEFORE PAYING, WHETHER EATING IN, CARRYING OUT OR DELIVERY AND BE SURE YOU KNOW WHAT THEY ARE CHARGING YOU AND WHY!!!

My order should have been 12$ and they tried to charge me 27$ when i asked why my total was so high the lady yelled at me "do you want the food or not?!!" My girlfriend started to cry she was so mean and when I called the next day about it they kept hanging up and the manager even hung up on me. Such a horrible experience.

I wanted to try something different for lunch in this area, and decided to give Chicken Basket a try. Its in the Weis strip mall down near the Subway. The interior could certainly use an update, and it seems to double as a Christian supply store, which you wouldn't suspect from the outside. The staff was very friendly. As for the food, I went with the fried chicken sandwich with a side of fries. The sandwich was ok- the chicken is lightly breaded, which is a change from the heavily breaded and fried chicken I was expecting. The fries were the better part of the meal- well made and covered in old bay seasoning. The price was reasonable for a lunch special. But overall it wasn't anything special really.

Ordered lunch for a co-worker and myself today and asked for it to be delivered. Apparently the owner Alfred is the one who was delivering and if he is a reflection of his business he's a pompous d*ck with an attitude. It took over 1.5 hours after placing the order to get it delivered and when I mentioned something to him, he said we should have picked it up. I don't get a normal lunch break so picking it up is not an option for me. The food was cold and disgusting. This is money wasted. They use to be good but now I wouldn't ever eat there again! I feel bad as this was my co-workers first try of them and I was excited. We were sorely disappointed and they didn't do anything for us money wise.

I was really excited to see this menu AND they deliver! I had never eaten here before, my spouse and I ordered delivery around 8pm. Was told 45 minutes, and they close at 9pm. I called at 9 because we had not heard from the driver, and was told he should be at our home any minute. Around 9:10 he came, said that he had called us, but no missed calls. After looking at the order, we were missing the chicken kabob that was ordered. We only ordered 2 pieces of fried chicken, chicken kabob and salad. The driver was willing to go back to pick up the kabob and bring it back, but by that time I was already disappointed and just asked for a refund. The fried chicken seemed good, will try this place again but maybe to eat-in or just pick-up. Don't want to wait an hour to be disappointed.

I saw the cook go to bathroom and never washed his hands. Food is overpriced. I can get my deep fryer out and make better wings.

THE BEST GYRO IN FREDERICK HANDS DOWN. I have been looking for a good gyro place around in Frederick there were one called "best gyro" place on rt 40 but their service was awful went there two times couldn't come back. Their sauce too flobby and thick. This place has amazing service and great family that works here. God blessed me with this place, they have good chicken as well, the place looks allright but the gyro.... My sweet Jesus, really hit the spot. I don't know why I am telling you but go there!! And see for yourself :) may the Gyro God bless you!!

Their chicken reminds me of the good ole days at your local chinese carryout (PG County, born and raised). Chicken wings with the french fries and the PG famous mumbo sauce! Chicken was crispy, but a little too much on the dry side. It was still good though. Also had the gyro and the beer battered shrimp. Gyro was OK, shrimp were good. All in all I will be ordering again when I need my chicken fix.

They're steak and cheese lunch special is okay. But the ribs are over cooked, stringy, and they didn't take off the membrane like they're rookies. Don't get the ribs!

DELIVERY: The salad was transported in the heat keeper with the entree. The ranch was runny and tasted off. I had the clam strip meal. The fries were a different cut than pictured. The Clam Strips came with cocktail sauce instead of tartar sauce. That was a huge let down. Also, I asked if the red velvet cake was good and the server ensured me it was. It was so dry I couldn't even eat it.

I come here for lunch. The specials for lunch are very good. The staff is nice. The place is kinda cramped for eating in.

Get dat chikn. Chicken Basket has been around a good 25 years, maybe closer to 30, I forget, I know it goes back to the days I was in high school back in the 80s. A good place for chiocken and subs. Around the lunch rush as every doctor's office on the north end orders from them, but other than that, you just gotta hit dat chicken. Hit it hard, hit it light a highschool kegger.

I'm working on a job site nearby and we've eaten here a few times. The fried chicken and the lunch ribs are above average. Both only cost $6.50 including fries and a drink. That's hard to beat price wise. What makes this above average is the way the chicken is fried. I like KFC and Popeyes' chicken, but they put a really thick coating over their chicken. This place uses a thinner batter and it actually mixes with the skin to create a fantastically crispy shell. Not just thick fried breading. Also, the ribs were tender prime rib. Even though I only got 2 ribs they were big enough that with fries I was stuffed. The sides other than the fries are sub-par, the coleslaw, and the heated generic dinner roll they give you, but all in all it's a good joint for what it is. Worth checking out if you're nearby and in the mood for some fried goodness.

I ordered the Veggie Sub, which is available hot or cold. I opted for the hot sub and I'm glad I did; I don't think it would have been too appetizing served cold. No cheese, no sauce of any kind, and a modest portion of mushrooms, peppers, olives, and onions. Sandwich was a little bit on the smallish side; I wish I had added a side dish. Of course, the restaurant is known mostly for its fried chicken so perhaps I should have opted for the chicken. The service was friendly and the iced tea was good. For now, I will rate this "OK".
