First visit. Very clean . staff was friendly and helpful. Food came quickly and was hot. I had Caesar salad, jambalaya and a Lightswitch Lager. All three were Very good. I would order all again. My wife ordered the portobello burger, fries and sweet tea. She enjoyed her's also. We look forward to our next trip and explore the menu more and maybe dessert.

Extremely disappointing. I came here with friends when they had just opened, or within a month and had a delicious meal. Pizza was outstanding, pot stickers and other apps on point. Good drinks. Would have given it a 4 star. Last night, I was very excited to have another delicious meal and was starving. My friend and I ordered mozzarella sticks. They were clearly frozen and heated up in a microwave or half-a** oven because they were still cold inside. The cheese they sprinkled on top didn't even melt.... the marinara sauce was cold. Seriously? If you're going to use frozen mozzarella sticks, at least do it right. Then, my main dish was the chicken with rice, black beans, feta cheese, and sauce. Again, chicken was warm but the rice and beans were cold. The cheese didn't even melt. It was the worst restaurant meal I've had in a long time. I don't know if management changed, but I definitely won't be back unless something is fixed in their kitchen. Staff was pleasant as usual, but I could never recommend BJ'S based off of the food last night.

Came here for lunch to catch-up with a friend and her daughters. We didn't get a chance to look at the menu and asked for a little more time. When our waiter came back, his comment was: "Thanks for being so patient." Not sure if that was suppose to be funny, but seemed a little snarky for a waiter. I'm sure the place is a nice place, but we didn't have a good experience. We ordered Asian Chopped salads and when the food came, they gave us a Dijon-like dressing when we should have gotten a honey-ginger dressing. My friend also noticed that some of the ingredients in the Asian salad was suppose to have grilled chicken breast, romaine, bibb lettuce, Napa cabbage, red bell peppers, snow peas, green onions, shredded carrots, sesame seeds, crisp wonton strips, cilantro and mandarin oranges. We only had chicken, lettuce, wonton strips, and mandarin oranges. My friend's daughter ordered off the kids menu (garlic chicken pasta with broccoli). My friend wasn't expecting long noodles (for a kid to eat) and mentioned when she ordered it last time they came out with small, short spiral noodles. Sounds like reviews aren't consistent, so just be on the look out of what you order and hope for a nicer waiter.

I'm super shocked at the low reviews of BJs! We are not chain restaurant people, but if you're out by the mall and doing some shopping, it's a great option. We've been here several times now. We love their mozzarella salad with balsamic glaze. It's so good and so cheap. They won us over with it before we ever actually got our meals. I had a Mediterranean dish and it was filling and quite good. With chain places, you never know what you'll get but we were super impressed. And- we love their beer! They have a great selection and their waiters/waitresses that we've had have always been knowledgeable about what they carry. If you're out running around at this end of town, give them a try. Again, I'm not sure why they have low reviews- we think they are great.

Why go to a crappy chain restaurant with half decent beers when there are 2 local brew pubs in town, one of which is right across the street! They've ironed out a few service kinks since they opened, but it's still not great. The food is no better than Ruby Tuesday, Applebee's, or any other place serving prepackaged foods with fancy corporate decor. The only reason to go is the fact that they are open late.

  • Pete P.

Generally, the service is fast. The drinks are always cold and the food has ALWAYS been excellent, whether it's an appetizer or the entre. Its big, open, new and very tastefully done. I highly recommend it for most occasions when lighter fare is involved and you want to watch sports. Sneakster

Seriously give me back the $8 pity tip I gave you for not offering me a drink when I decided to eat my pizza in-house. No napkins, and then here's the kicker- a pazooki to go only to not have any utensils. You 2 stupid lazy asses

Great restaurant and the food was good too! Our waitress, Heather, was a tremendous resource for this establishment. Her demeanor, engagement, forethought concerning our needs, and her smile were fabulous complements to our meal. I would encourage many folks to eat at this location. Great time had by all!

No complaints, only compliments. Even close to 10pm on a Saturday night, dinner was up to par and delicious. We did not feel rushed and our server took great care of us. For an appetizer we ordered the potato skins which are always delicious. I ordered the salmon with quinoa and it was very flavorful; would definitely order it again. My husband and I both ordered specialty drinks from the bar and they were made to perfection. Wildberry Mojito and Island Sunset...I'm craving one now. Why, oh why isn't this place PACKED on a Saturday night??

Been here twice and both times it was very good. The Parmesan Crusted Chicken was very good. When a place says "crusted" it should have a little crunch. They don't over sauce it, over all good dish. The beer was very good, the Tatonka Stout was one of the best microbrew stouts I've had. The service was good, but I tend to eat late so not overly busy, but the staff seemed on top of things. I also really like the atmosphere... Modern feel, clean, spacious. I'll be going back, just to try a few more beers if nothing else.

Dinner at BJs was an alternative to crowded OliveGarden. The wait stretched over 40 minutes for a simple pasta/salad/soup/burger order. When it finally arrived (you know what's coming) the burger was stale and cold and the soup was cold. Catch-22, but we sent those back. Luckily, my daughter had the pasta and it was good and she could eat while my wife and I waited. The waiter apologized and offered a salad - I said no and then figured forget the salad, I'll take a beer. Then the manager showed up, apologized and said he'd take off the soup&salad - that's a nice touch to mitigate the damage. The second attempt was solid with a good burger and warm soup. The bill showed the beer though and I asked since I assumed it was comped vs. the salad - he said the salad would have been but MD law is that there's no free beer?! I can't say I'd be back - the original wait and redo of half the orders is a waste of time - who wants to risk that. But I do give credit to the manager coming by.

We were thrilled when BJs opened up in Frederick, MD after falling in love with the food at its location in Daytona/ pt orange Florida. Everything on the menu is delicious and the beer is great too!

What a pleasant surprise! I was unsure what to expect because of the reviews for this place but we had a pretty nice experience for lunch on Saturday. First, what the heck is going on with that hostess station? They formed a line of people waiting to be sat which would have been fine but we all just stood there for 10 minutes not moving. Those girls seemed really confused and in no hurry to fix the issue. It was just really weird. Luckily, everything was smooth sailing after that. Our server, Courtney, was really sweet and professional. She seemed very knowledgable about the food and drinks available. We started with the spinach and artichoke dip and a few small plates for the table; those corn fritters were excellent. My husband and I each did a beer sampler. Being a dark beer drinker, I was surprised that my favs were all lighter (specifically the blonde). I look forward to trying more of what they have to offer. All of our meals were really good and well prepared. My only complaint was with the shrimp on my pasta. They had absolutely no seasoning or flavor whatsoever and it really brought the whole dish down. Other than that, everything ordered was tasty. We will absolutely be back. I really want to try their pizza. Also, I saw on the menu that their weekday lunch specials start around $6 which is really good to know!

We've enjoyed dinner at BJ's twice in the last couple months (I had to rewrite that sentence twice, because inside I'm a 12-year-old boy). First, my wife and I took our little grandchild, and on a Saturday late afternoon, it was a long wait in the crowded little lobby. Once we got in, though, it worked well for us. Extensive menu, and all we've tried has been good. Long list of beers (including their own and other micros) and fun drinks. TV's all over, and lots to look at. Service was pretty good. Our second date there, just the two of us, kept pace with the first. We enjoyed the appetizer combo (which I knew would be too much food, and it was), the seared Ahi salad, and the parmesan crusted chicken. All were good, and my chicken was excellent. I tried a few of their beers, which were tasty. Pros: long and varied menu. Cheerful service, and pretty quick to tableside. Lots of drink choices. Lots to look at. Servings are pretty big, but there are lots of smart choices on the menu. Cons: The wait for a table (we did not call ahead, which might have helped). Loud, "warehouse-y" atmosphere. We'll be back to try more things on that menu, and I have high hopes. We'll also plan to beat the dinner rush if we can.

Awesome food and great service. Shots are a little more pricey than I'd like ($9 for a shot of fireball) but the experience is worth it.

Waited 20 minutes for our order and then had to send a burger back because it was undercooked. It took another 15 minutes to get the burger back. This was after waiting 30 minutes to be seated; being asked if we needed a kid's menu because one of the adults in our party is on the short side; and having to ask for silverware, napkins, lemons, sweetener, and ice for the iced tea. But the waiter sure was quick to bring the check and run the credit card. This was the worst experience, but previous experiences haven't been great either...undercooked pork, dry overcooked steak, and overcooked vegetables. Won't be returning.

This place is poppin! I have come here a few times since it's been open and the food and atmosphere are well done. The whole restaurant is huge! Lot's of room and comfortable seating areas, especially for big groups if you have them. On the weekends we had to wait a little while to be seated for dinner, but that's to be expected on a Saturday night. We just went to the bar and got a drink and waited for our table. Any place that has their own brewed beer is a plus for me, and gives me the opportunity to try something new. Their amber ale is my favorite. The first time I came here I had the Moroccan Spiced Salmon, very tasty! I loved the seasoning and sauce, it had a nice pop of flavor. I will say the desserts here are to die for! The pizookie trio is big enough for a few people to share, and you can try whichever pizookie you want! I would come here for the dessert alone. I've never had a bad time here, so hopefully that continues!

This place had good pizza and beer. The prices are a bit high, but the quality of the food and service each time we have been there are great. The staff can answer questions about the menu and the variety of brews.

This is my new favorite place in frederick. Good beer and awesome food. The setting is very comfortable which makes it a good dinning experience. The menu is excellent, everything I've had here is always delicious. The deserts are freaking amazing.

  • Christine G.

We have eaten here four times now. Food and service has been excellent! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is my Classic Margarita came without salt. When I asked the server about it, she said, "That type of Margarita doesn't come with salt". Really? I could understand a watermelon Margarita coming without salt, but a classic should have salt. She did bring me a glass with salt that I was able to pour most of my drink into.

This is the only chain type restaurant I can stand in the area. The service has so far been fine for me. The food has consistently been good. I have no complaints. The beer selection is wonderful and the gluten free cookie dessert is pretty delicious. I would much rather go to Brewers ally downtown though.

    (3)
  • Angela S.

Oh no, I have to bring my rating back to 4 stars. I've been here 3 times, and the service has been great each time. But on this last visit, the food didn't match the menu description (one of my biggest restaurant pet peeves). I got the kale and roasted brussels sprouts salad). The menu said it came with candied pecans, pumpkin seeds, and red onion (in addition to other items). Those three items were missing, so there was zero crunch to the salad. It was just leaves and berries. So, I am deducting 1 star. Things like this should not be missed.

Great beer selection, was here with my mom for lunch. Our service was very good, our waitress was familiar with the menu and gave us good recommendations. The decor is 5/5 very comfortable perfect place to hang out after work! I started with the Brussel sprouts appetizer great balance of heat and sweet. I got the bj burger with bacon, cooked perfect and fries were good my mom enjoyed her salad as well. I will definitely be back sometime soon!

Let me start with this: service was immaculate. BJ is very clean and well organized. On the contrary the meal was dicent at best . My food was semi cold. Beers selection is OK.

The best restaurant in Frederick. Has everything you could ever want Seriously... every type of food ever. You won't look at the menu and be like "i don't know what to get" Just depends on whatever food mood you're in. They have plenty of healthy options too for you weirdos. (I stay around 10% body fat year round and eat here plenty). Trust me You can eat here and not worry about busting your hard work in the gym. Go check this place out

drove an hr away to come. Not so much for the food but for the pazookie. The food was okay. ordered a hamburger which was dry and had cold french fries. When my friends food came out she had no silverware and it took them about 5 minutes to bring some. Service and food was just okay

  • Emily M.

I agree with previous reviews that say this place would be a lot better with some management/staff changes. I'm not sure exactly what needs to be done, but I've been here 6 or 7 times now, and I think only one of those times was both my food & service ok. Sometimes the food is cold, sometimes the food takes forever, and for the fact that 'Brewhouse' is in the name, I have yet to talk to waitstaff that knows anything about beer. The last time I was there, our waitress said framboise was a 'style of beer' and it's called that because it's 'creamy'. That aside, I keep coming back because it's one of the larger restaurants in Frederick, and since it's a chain, it's easy to get a group of people to agree to go there. If the service & food quality improved, I would be happy to go much more often!

BJ's carry their own diverse selection of brews. The menu is fairly extensive. The decor is modern and warm. The service was good. We enjoyed the wings and shrimp wraps for our appetizers. The wings were sauced and spiced nicely and they were plump, juicy, and slightly crisp. The shrimp in the wraps were lightly blackened and additional toppings were fresh and crisp. We shared a pizza for our meal. The crust was unique to anything that I have had before. It was thin and crispy without being crunchy. The toppings were perfectly balanced with the sauce and cheese.

  • Matt W.

Avocado egg rolls were awesome, light and crispy with great crunch and flavor. The mediterranean chicken pita tacos were unbelievable. Like gyros with an excellent side of seasonal grains--great flavor. Like a jacked up taboullie (sp?)! The jalapeno burger was really good. Although overcooked and the bun got a little dry it had tons of flavor. It woulda been a 5/5, but still only dropped to a 4/5 due to the discrepancies. And the go-to BBQ chicken salad was as good as we remember from our Burbank, Cali days. Smaller and less chicken since '08, but the times man. Ahh a stroll down memory lane pre-08 meltdown. Server ruled and the Pumpkin Ale with fireball and sugared rim was delicious.

This place was pretty solid on the casual sports bar vibe. A dozen or so homemade beers give one plenty to quaff with food. My friend and I got a sampler each to make sure we'd sampled a good portion of the brews. I was drawn to the bison burger and God love 'em, the waiters knew to recommend it cooked medium or medium rare so it doesn't get overcooked. I was not disappointed. A very juicy burger with skinny french fries (My companions are more potato wedge folks, but I opt for the typical boring fries over wedges). It was crowded and noisy, so not my ideal place to hang out with friends. I'm pretty sure it's the awesome beer that will bring me back.

Gave this place another try... RELUCTANTLY hoping that my past experience was just a stroke of bad timing... Too optimistic? Yes.. Once again, at a later time on the weekend.. The place was basically empty except for a couple other tables and a few bar guests... To sum it up and save another review filled with service flaws.. -slow, awkward & essentially under trained/poorly managed staff (hostess, server) -SLOWWWWWWWW -food was not even mediocre at best. Bye, I'm done with this place forever.

So, this is one of the very last places in the city whose pizza I have not had. Keep in mind this is a chain restaurant so my hopes and expectations aren't high, and I'm glad for one that they weren't. First off, the online ordering is great. And while this is a chain bar-restaurant, and not a pizza joint, I will admit, their pizza options is/are pretty damn big. This place serves mostly pub food, so pizza options were a surprise. You have a choice of gourmet pizzas, or create your own. I went with create my own. Crust choices were deep-dish, hand-tossed or glutton free. Deep-dish sizes range from 6", 9", 12", and 14", while hand-tossed offers either 11" or 14", and finally glutton offers a single 10" pie. By default, your sauce and cheese is limited to tomato and five cheese, with a limited number of vegi/meat options. Frankly, I really wish chain establishments would get away from these four/five cheese blends. They are ALWAYS bland. Most cheese do not mix week, and shredded mass-processed cheese further exacerbates the blandness. There's a reason why cheesemasters do not mix cheese, and there's a reason why good pizza joints don't either! My pizza was ready a few minuets before I arrived and thankfully, my Little Caesar's insulated pizza bag that I bought a few years ago for $3.oo managed to get the pie from FSK Mall back to Lewistown warm. Staff was prompt and friendly; I like that! So, here's where I was a bit let down. My 14" cheese pie with cilantro came it at $15.75 which is a lot for such a small pie. Well, it's a medium technically, but still, that's several dollars more than Pistarro's for the same size pizza with fewer toppings. The pie while having a decent crust, little sauce, and a bland cheese overall, came up a bit lacking; toss in the price, and I have to say, I was underwhelmed, despite not going in to this pizza expecting a hell of a lot to begin with. Someday, I may piss down to the south end and try some other food-fare with a few pints and will create a second review accordingly. But as so far as the pizza goes, there's quite a few better options out there.

Very disappointed this time. Got there asked for Heather and she was starting later. We were 5 total including baby, we got sat in a small table so we asked for a bigger table instead, well I guess we weren't suppose to ask that. We then got Bryan as our waiter, completely the opposite from Heather. He was careless and just blah. We ordered calamari (always do) and it was dark brown (burnt), it was CRISPY. We sent it back and he didn't even care or said a word about it.

I had a great experience here! I always try to visit a BJ's when I can, since they support Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. So, it was a nice treat when I spotted a recently opened location in Frederick, while in town on business. I walked right into a clean, airy, modern restaurant, and was warmly greeted. There were a good number of people there at 6:00ish on a Wednesday night when I went, but I didn't have to wait for a table. My server was friendly and attentive. I went with the pepperoni pizza, which is always a hit. I noticed it wasn't deep dish, so it would've been helpful if the server had asked, since I incorrectly assumed it would automatically be a deep dish pizza. Womp womp womp. Still, it was delicious, and a pepperoni lover's dream! For dessert I went with their s'mores pazookie (butchering the spelling here), and it was literally one of the best desserts I've ever had in the almost (I said almost) three decades I've been living! Cookie baked in a personal size skillet, with ice cream, and s'mores fixins. Oh my, it was heaven. A portion of the sales from this dessert goes to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation so eat up folks!

Another mediocre visit- Asked to have grilled chicken on my fettuccine- came out the other way instead. My drink as well as my friends drinks were definitely not correct- got a tangerine drink rather than a strawberry one. Food was cold upon arrival. Slow service. Server seemed to repeat what we said back correctly, then upon execution mixed it up completly. Take out service has been ready every time for me. Order is always correct there. As stated in pervious reviews, managers just seem to make excuses rather than fix the issues. As a chain resturant you'd expect better. Management is horrid compared to other chain restaurants such as TGI Fridays, or Olive Garden

Came on a Sunday night with 4 friends and waited about 20 min at the bar until the beeper vibrated. We were seated in one of those half circle booths. Ordered the chicken potstickers, handcrafted root beer, and brewhouse burger with wedges. Potstickers - not really impressed and didnt have enough flavor. Also $9.50 for 6. Root beer - too much carbonation, but I liked the taste Burger - BANGIN! It was perfect and they were not stingy with the wedges either. I enjoyed every bite. It was worth the money (exception: potstickers) and you get what you pay for! I would like to add that my friends couldnt finish their meal and had to take the rest home ;) And also, the service was great!

It's hard to beat the food here. Been here 6 times and the food quality and taste are hard to beat anywhere and in Frederick impossible. Very good beer selection not only on tap but by the bottle also. The server staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The seating is comfortable. The atmosphere has a nice buzz about it without being overbearing. Noise level makes conversation easy.. Simply put.- best reasonably priced, good food, nice place in the area.

Don't like giving ones but the food wait was crazy. The Deep Dish cheese only pizza had no sauce because we said no tomato so basically it was cheese bread. Last time to the place.

The service was good and the food was ok but it was only ok. It's a chain and feels like a chain. The food is not nearly as good as The Barley and Hops. The experience was fine but won't go back. Just nothing really special about it.

Hubs and just about everyone on the West Coast has told me how I need, must, HAVE to come here and try their pizooki's. I guess I was kindof surprised when I realized they were a chain and happened to see this place while driving through. Naturally, we had to stop and grab a pizooki. We sat at the bar (already had dinner) and order two beers, one locally brewed BJ's (I wanna say it's the summer berry brewed cider, which was so good, but that totally screams girly-spritzer-girl-who-doesn't-drink-beer)... but that local brew and one not (a Blue Moon). Cookies and cream Pizooki's - It was everything everyone said it is: AMAZING. A cold scoop of vanilla ice cream and a dollop of oreo whipped cream (never seen that) over a gooey hot brownie! And as if we couldn't get more glutinous, our fabulous bartending waitress mentioned how good the S'Mores pizooki was. So it's safe to say we'll be back to try that AND the food next time. Mission accomplished.

First visit and would go back. Our waiter was awesome! Ordered the pizza for my daughter who refused to eat it. I kinda don't blame her, it was blah. I asked for light sauce and was told they don't put much on so I wouldn't have to worry about it. He wasn't kidding...there was NO SAUCE on the pizza. The wedge cut fries were really good, def a winner for our table. The chicken fingers ended up being something my daughter loved and ended up having for lunch and dinner! The Dip sandwich was pretty good. Portion sizes were decent. Great restaurant, family friendly for sure!!! We will be back!

Food was decent. Your typically chain/franchise type menu. I had their staple burger with seasoned fries. I also ordered a flatbread pizza, which was actually pretty good. The service wasn't great. Waiter was lost for long periods of time. I probably wouldn't return, unless my other options were exhausted.

Host staff refused to honor a call-in place on the wait list. Floor was dangerously slippery. Food was average at best. Although claiming to be a brew pub, bar staff was oblivious to the proper service and temperature for different beers. The beer may have been good, I'll never know because it was served at the tongue-numbing icy temps used to help you swill American beer. Cannot recommend.

Okay so this place was HORRIBLE. It was our first time there and we were trying out places for a lunch/dinner after our wedding ceremony in August. This will NOT be on the list, and we will NEVER visit again. It started off well enough. We got seated immediately and the waiter came over within a few minutes to place our drink orders. Since we've never been there before, we needed a couple more minutes with the menu. Well, it took her about 15 minutes to come back, and she walked passed our table several times. Once we placed our order, the waiting began! We got there at 5pm. 6 pm came and went. No updates from our waiter. No refills on drinks. The table to our left had a party of 4, and they were there before us. They got served around this time - except 1 person didn't receive their meal. 7 pm came and still no food. No updates or refills from our waiter. She didn't stop by our table once since we placed our food order. Table on the left finished their food, but the 1 person still did not receive their meal. 15 minutes of so later when we were about to walk out, our food came. And it was burned. Badly. I got a chicken dish and my fiance got ribs. Chicken was scorched black and the ribs had zero flavor. Ribs were also burned. Meal was awful. My finace ordered a full rack, ate two ribs and a few fries and got a box to go. . . By this time the table on our right, who were also here before us, got served. A manager came over and apologized to them and offered them free dessert. Table on the left, manager also came and apologized and offered free dessert and other food for the party since the 1 person still didn't have their food. No one came and apologized to us or offered us compensation. When we were getting up to leave, our waiter finally asked if we wanted a refill. . . No, no we didn't, we don't want anything from this place ever again. We went home and both had stomach problems from the food. Had to throw the boxed ribs out. Horrible all around, zero stars for this place.

Love this place, especially for lunch. The corn fritters are awesome. And the southern fried chicken is very good! Despite being a chain, this place is worth stopping at! Also, in the evening they have plenty of different beers to choose from! A rotating choice of microbrew beers....check it out!

I would love to give BJ's 4 stars, but I just can't. Our entrees were just OK, nothing special. However, I had a wonderful drink and the Pizookies are delicious! Our server was wonderful despite being on a long and busy shift, which we really appreciated. BJ's is a nice addition to Frederick and we know we'll stop in again. Just be careful, all those LED lights on the ceiling can be a distraction.

I really like this place, have eaten here twice at the bar and the service was prompt and friendly. The bar staff seemed to know about beer when I asked questions and took the time to answer questions about the restaurant in general. Food was good, had a classic burger one night an mahi mahi another, was quick to be served and was good. I would come back for the great beer selection and I think I could always find something on the menu as there is good variety. Both times I was there it was not overly busy so it was not loud and I could easily talk with the other people at the bar.

I've been wanting to try this restaurant for sometime now, and I finally did it. The interior was huge, with quite a few television sets to watch games. I was seated promptly and greeted by a waitress, who in actuality probably had not had much time on the job. But that's fine. I know people have to start sometime. She was very nice and promptly pointed out the specials of the day. The only thing that I think was lacking about her service was not bringing me more napkins and not refilling my drink without being asked. Anyways, to the food. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with the wedge cut fries. It comes with a side of coleslaw. It also comes with a straw onions on top of it which made me wonder where I was going to even put the barbecue sauce because it was so high. The coleslaw was kind of odd because it was huge chunks rather than the shredded type that I'm used to, but tasted fine. The sandwich came with a little container of barbecue sauce which I poured on the sandwich and also put the coleslaw on top of it. I had my doubts at first, but once I tasted it they were erased. It was probably one of the best pulled pork sandwiches I've ever had. The meal was VERY tasty. For desert I had the Triple Chocolate Pizookie, which was a large chocolate cookie in a pan, heated, with chunks of Ghiradelli chocolate. It's then topped with 2 scoops of chocolate ice cream and a Ghiradelli dark chocolate square. Also VERY delicious. Overall, I highly recommend this place and look forward to trying some of their other foods. Give it a shot. Update: While I was there for my first visit, I signed up for their premium rewards program. I specifically asked the girl if my meal could be counted towards my points which is one point per dollar spent. She told me that would be fine but they needed to put it in at the end of the day. About a week later I went to the site to try and check on my point balance and found that I couldn't put a password in anywhere because I was not given one. I called their customer service and they said they were updating the site and that they would send me a new card which they did. They also sent me an email which showed I had a zero balance instead of the points I was supposed to receive. So I called again and basically their phone customer service act like they're doing you a favor. They told me they would have somebody call me back which never happened. They are really not helpful at all. In fact if you don't have a receipt which I didn't because it was about a month before, they won't add the points. I feel if I'm giving them my personal information to sell or whatever they're doing with it at least I should get something out of it. Basically I was very unhappy with their customer service and it still has not been resolved. I'm only asking for a mere 22 points! It's not like I'm going to lie about it. It's taking more time away from my day just to contact them three or four times in the past month. So now for the third time they've told me they'll have somebody call me back. We will see. They've had issues "updating" their website for a MONTH! Who does that? And as far as the points, I know if it was Amazon I was dealing with and I had the same problem they'd credit my points right away and probably send me some gift card or something to make up for the hassle. To be honest the food is really good in this place, but I've been so turned off by this whole experience I probably won't eat there again. It's a shame because I really like it.

I've been to BJ's a few times now. My wife and I have been on date night once or twice, we've been as a family of 5 with our 3 kids, and I've been to the bar only with a buddy. All in all, I'd say that the experience was decent for each visit. The seated service on the later nights was a bit slow, but based on the crowds that night and that it was closer to when it originally opened, I guess that's to be expected somewhat. The one complaint I have is related to the call ahead seating. During one of our visits with the family we did call ahead and were told 30 minutes. So we arrive with about 5 minutes to spare, and were told that our wait would be about another 20 or so minutes. When we explained that we did call ahead, they said that since more people had come in since we called, that our wait time had been pushed. Somehow, in my mind, that's the whole point of having call ahead. We weren't pleased but we didn't let it ruin our night. To me, call ahead folks should be given higher priority for planning ahead. Hopefully it was a one time fluke and somebody just screwed up. In the end, we'll be back again someday I'm sure.

I place BJ's in a category of restaurants that seem to be focused on image and setting as much as they are about food. I suppose a lot of restaurants strives to have an identity beyond just food in some way, but sometimes it seems that the food takes second seat to the overall feel. I was curious to try BJ's when they opened, they seemed to be going for that more 'upscale chain' type restaurant (think Gordon Biersch or Cheesecake Factory). When we walked in, we were met by what seemed to be a team of staff whose first question was whether or not we had a reservation. I do understand that there are certainly some places where a reservation was essential, but I had a hard time believing that only a week after opening, this massively expansive restaurant had become such the hot spot that a reservation was required for 11 am lunch on a weekday. We were seated in a very comfortable booth, and while we waited (and waited) for someone to take our drink order, I had ample time to survey the decor. Overall, it felt forced and jumbled. Incorporating elements of various high end establishments I had visited over the years. My overall impression was that they really had no individual identity, they were only mimicking elements of other establishments. Looking over the menu, it was clear this approach carried over to the food offerings. Most items on the menu seems vaguely reminiscent of other restaurants. We selected Avocado egg rolls as an appetizer, as I really enjoy the ones from Cheesecake factory, and these seemed to be virtually identical based on the description. The only difference ended up being the flavor, which was sadly absent. Bland and undercooked. We ordered a variety of burgers and sandwiches among us, and the common opinion was that we had all tried something similar someplace else, and it was better at the other place. The burger patties were frozen, and seasoning was not to be found. The fries not he side were no more than food service grade frozen from a bag. While I don't feel that any of the food was such that it was inedible, it seemed to have little effort put into it. If you are looking for a comfortable place to meet with friends, have some drinks and a bite to eat. This wouldn't be a bad place (although it gets a bit noisy when it starts filling up), but if you are looking for a memorable meal, this really isn't the place.

I enjoyed my first visit. It was a Friday evening and we were on the call ahead wait list. Despite that, it took 45 minutes to get a table. I can't imagine the wait if you just walked in. It's a new place so I would expect long waiting on weekend evenings anyway. I enjoyed the Jeremiah Red, the Oasis amber and Nutty brunette beer. I will definitely go back and try the others. I'm not so hung up on them not brewing ON site like others have expressed in their review as it is their beer being shipped in anyway. I don't have a need to see the brewing process. I've frequented Barley and Hops for years (as well as other brewery type restaurants) and I work in Biotech Biopharm. I'm over seeing all the shiny tanks. Besides, Brewers Alley moved their brewery outside their restaurant and that helped expand the bar area tremendously. That place is STILL hopping without the tanks and I'm sure that's helped in bringing in more customers. The food was good. I had the hand tossed spicy meatball pizza. It was tasty and probably could have stayed in the oven a little longer. I like crispy bottoms. I tasted the deep dish. It was good too. Very airy and not so dense. The mini size was tiny but probably a good option if you loaded up on beer and appetizers beforehand. Could have used more cheese/toppings. Overall I would visit them again. Every new restaurant needs to shake out the kinks until they can get into a more consistent/efficient mode. Beer is good IMHO. Besides, taste IS subjective so don't base whether to try this place or not from someone else's opinion. Try it the craft beer out and judge the taste yourself. Ambiance is nice. Waitstaff was pleasant enough. Oh, the bathrooms were stylish and pretty clean. Always a plus in MY book if you want a good review. ;) Welcome to Frederick, BJs! We need more places like yours in this town and more night life places that stay open longer!

This place is an absolute delight to dine at!! I went for lunch with my fiancé's family and it was wonderful!!! The service was excellent and the food was delicious! So many options too!! I could barly decide on what to get, it all looked amazing!! Family was paying so I didn't get to see the price for all 4 of us, but I don't think it was that expensive, but if it was it was worth every penny!! I did feel under dressed tho when I went there, next time I'll wear something nicer!

We back it took awhile for ther server to take our order but the place was packed. I thought they were giving out free food today. The food was great. Try the salmon and vegetables, jambalaya, soup and sandwich mix. It was all great.

We were unsure about going here at first, but now it might be one of my favorite places to take the family. I had the parmesean chicken, the stuff is fantastic. The bf tried 2 of their beers and really enjoyed them. There is a salted caramel pizzookie (sp) sundae that is divine, especially if you are a fan of toffee! My kid was completely happy with his food. They have tons of side choices for little ones instead of the same old boring fries or veg of the day. Side note on cool for kids factor: the crayons are triangular so they don't roll off the table and the kids drinks have bendy straws so the aren't tipping and spilling everytime they take a drink. Only parents of toddlers can appreciate not having crayons roll on the floor every 4 minutes. Overall, an enjoyable experience. 4.5 stars overall. Also, the service was excellent!

Food is great but service is less than desired. I did the call ahead service because I have kids and to wait once I get there is not fun. Well once I got there I still had to wait an additional 30 minutes. To me that defeats the whole purpose of calling ahead.

After having lunch at BJ's with two business associates, my attitude is as indifferent as the service we experienced. The noontime hostess took our name and brushed us off to the side with all the warmth of the cold post Christmas week weather. Once seated (a very short wait) our waiter (Mark T.) approached before we had settled in and asked for our drink and appetizer order. When we passed on an app, he asked for our lunch order...Again, we had not been in the booth for more than 45 seconds! I understand all about turning tables but give me a break. So we ordered and the food was delivered in short order and the server conducted the "auction:" "Who had the Cobb Salad? Scallops? So you must have the Fish Tacos then?" Then she left never to be seen again which was fine except we had no silverware. We flagged down our waiter who was gone for at least 3 minutes before we asked another staff member who was kind enough to deliver the utensils and napkins. Mark T. never returned to ask about our food. The food was OK (a 3-Star on the Yelp scale) as were the portion sizes while the soup was warm at best. The total experience was a "2" due to indifferent staff starting with the hostess and ending with our waiter's "hit and run" drop of the check without even the obligatory "have a nice day." Of course the check provided the so very handy calculation of a 15%,18% and 20% tip. It should have included the calculation for a 2% tip as that number would have been a closer representation of the day's service level.

The atmosphere of this place is great and good for a chill date night or a family meal. The corn fritters were very well done and a great start to the dinner. I also recommend trying the sampler of their brews if you like beer. Our server seemed very knowledgeable about the somewhat extensive menu, but he was also quite busy and almost never came by. All in all I'll definitely be going back as it is a cool restaurant with good food and drinks.

I really would like this place to improve a little bit. The dish ideas and variety are great. However, the execution is many times less than perfect. For example, my last visit was not that good. I ordered the corn fritters with bacon aioli. Nice presentation, tasty bacon, BUT the fritters were not completely cooked--really not good to eat uncooked dough. Then I ordered the kale and Brussels sprouts salad, and chose shrimp for the meat. Was asked if I wanted regular shrimp or blackened. Chose the latter ... guess what I got? Not blackened. While other visits have been better, many have been the same: something not quite OK with the food. I want this restaurant to be better because I like the place--variety, location. I hope they read the customer's reviews and take it seriously.

The drinks are over priced, $9.75 for a long island, I can go down the street for 2 for the same price. However, the food was good and the pizza at the table next to us looked great. This was my first time in here but I will be back, the service was great and the place was nice and clean. Plenty of TV's in the bar area if you want to catch a game.

Totally agree with some reviews...I am sitting here trying to decide where to take my friends to go watch the playoff games today (and easily spend $500+) and although BJs is definitely the closest with the best set up for a game, I am tired of wasting my time driving over just to find out they split what could be a great big screen into 4 small ones (totally defeating the purpose of a big screen) and refuse to turn the sound on, turning what could be a great football viewing ambiance into one of the worst places to go for football! Great job management! Way to run a bar into the ground!

We took a cruise to Frederick today to BJ's, and we were not disappointed. We started off with the peach tea and raspberry tea - both were refreshing. We had to order the Avocado Eggrolls. They're so damn good. We are trying to eat more healthy, so we both went for the fish. A good call. I went for the Mahi-Mahi and my friend tried the blackened salmon. The pics don't lie.. The fish was excellent. The salmon was blackened the way I like to make it ...crispy on the outside, moist and juicy on the inside. The Mahi-Mahi was baked with sweet honey glaze on a bed of pineapple and rice with stirfried vegetables. "Smoking". We have come here 4 or more times in the last several months, and the food keeps getting better each time. It's a super nice restaurant, good service, a chilled place to go. This place Rocks

We love BJs! We've been with a large group, just the 2 of us, and done carry out orders. The service has been amazing each time we've visited. We've never been in a rush, so if service was slow, we didn't realize. Our drinks were always full and our food was hot when it arrived to our table. They food is excellent. They serve huge portions that could easily be shared. There are so many options, and many price points, which is nice! The only drawback is drink prices. Most are $8-10 a piece, but they are great drinks! The strawberry mojito is my favorite. It's fresh and scrumptious! Their lunch specials are fantastic! For about $6-7 you can get a mini pizza and choice of salad. It's an amazing deal, and it's good on carry out orders too!

This restaurant was a huge disappointment. It was beautiful inside as far as looks go, but that's about as good as it got. Our waitress took forever to get to the table. 7 Mins is way too long, keep in mind we have a small child with us, too, to even be acknowledged when there are 4 tables in the whole place, most of which were eating. When she finally got to the table, she had a nasty attitude. We felt very rushed. We ordered our drinks, after another 10 mins, they arrived. We finally made our food selections, bad idea. I ordered the Mediterranean Chicken Tacos, my husband ordered a simple bacon cheeseburger with the thick fries, and my son ordered the corn dogs with carrots. When our food came, the pasta medley that comes with the tacos tasted like some sort of medicine. It has a chemical taste to it. The tacos were bland and had zero flavor. I noticed my husband had stopped eating halfway through his burger and asked him what was wrong, he said it tasted funny. The bacon looked like a dog treat and the burger looked like meatloaf. The sandwich had sat too long under the food warmer and was hard as a rock. Our waitress came back long enough for me to order rice instead of the nasty pasta that came with it. She huffed off with the pasta and said that it would be a few minutes for the rice.... it was 15 and i was already finished my meal by that point. We asked for a manager and he honestly seemed like he couldn't have cared less about our table or the issues we were having. After a long drawn out conversation, he took my husbands food off of our check and had our waitress drop it off. Magically, her attitude perked up when check time came. She still didn't get that great of a tip.Probably one of the WORST places i have ever been in my life.

This place isn't that bad. A friend celebrated her birthday going to this place blindly as did I. It was a boss recommendation and well I had to go where the birthday lady wanted to go. Food was ok. Nothing special from any other chain restaurant. My first drink from the menu was too sugary. I ended up creating my own. Dessert was yummy. I do not frequent Frederick so let's say it's doubtful I will be back.

Ate at BJ's for the first time last weekend and was very underwhelmed. The restaurant looks great, the service was good for the most part, the food was not bad but nothing to write home about. We popped in on Sunday night for a light meal and were impressed with the space. The restaurant was much bigger then I had expected it to be from the outside. We were seated quickly and our waitress came over right away. We both tried some of BJ's drink options a beer and cider. I eat GF so can only comment on what I could have which was the cider, and it was bad. I have tried several different kinds of cider and I found this disgustingly sweet. It almost tasted like a strawberry wine but even sweeter. Not what I was looking for but if you like really sweet drinks I would recommend you this. The menu is massive, almost reminds me (size wise) of the Cheesecake factory and was a little intimidating. We opted for the cobb salad and a GF pizza. It was all very underwhelming but the salad more so. I have a 'thing' read big pet peeve with shredded taco iceberg taco lettuce being passed off as a salad. It seems cheap to me and like corners are being cut especially when you are paying around $13 plus for a salad. The quantity of toppings was disappointing also very sparse. Just very blah. The GF pizza was good, not bad but not great. I have had better and personally think Domino's is better. The service was good with a couple exceptions. On the website they advertise a gluten free menu we asked for one but were told they ran out? Which is strange I feel like people don't get to keep or take home their menu. In the absence of the menu the waitress was as helpful as she could be but didn't want to assume so I was left with few options. At $45 for two people to have one drink share a salad and pizza the price is a little high. Had the food been better I wouldn't have minded as much, but it wasn't. With SO many places to eat in Frederick, from chains to individual restaurants, that quite frankly are much better I can say that I will not be going back.

The corn fritter was amazing. However, the pizza was just okay. If given the choice between pizza hut and BJ's for a pepperoni pizza... Then Pizza Hut would win.

Great crowd, service, bar and atmosphere. I love burgers, but only have them with bread once a week, generally on Saturdays. My food was okay. It was hot, but not tasty. The bun was dry to the point of being chalky and the patty was too charred to much to express a beef flavor. The only flavor I had was char.

So as you know I will just put it out there as I see it. This place opened and I waited until they had a month to get it right. Well I have been once a week since and I can say it's not because the food is overwhelming, or the atmosphere although they are ok. What keeps us going back are a few good dishes, some decent adult beverages, the sports them, but the biggest reason is the Server we found is a diamond in this coal mine of a restaurant. Yes the server and a couple of dishes will keep me as a regular. However this place lacks a lot of things. 1) For starters the management staff - is un-attentive and avoids conflict at all cost. Many times we have had an issue with a dish or something from the kitchen. And most of the time the manager never stopped by the table. The GM is what I like to call "Decorative" meaning they are there from 9am to 5pm and out the door just to do the bare minimum. The rest of the managers including the GM do no table touches to check on the guests. Also I have to say "From my own experience" the GM is not to be trusted. She has told many untruths and I have lost all respect and confidence in this so-called management staff. 2) The kitchen - this can be a hit or miss process. The chicken dishes are your safe bet and a few apps are ok. Forget the salads and some times the fish is over cooked. They do burn things as roasted veg should never be black and look like lumps of coal. Pizza is a bust. Get to a local pizza shop if you want pizza but not here. 3) The Servers - I can count on one hand (right or left you choose) the number of good servers and on 1/2 of a hand the number of excellent servers. But it takes all my fingers and toes and yours to start with how many poor or just out and out bad servers there are. Again management allows them to run amuck and holds none of them accountable. When the poor servers start complaining that the good and excellent servers have a loyal following and only want to sit in their sections as unfair you know it's not good. So when management fails to manage and weed out the poor performing staff but instead causes issues for the other servers there is a problem. I have a favorite server and we have become friends as a family with this person. I request to sit in their section and will wait to get a table there. But because the whining others the GM will force us and others to sit where the service is going to be crap. And to top it off will lie to your face as to why you can't sit with the server you want. You know I ran many restaurants and I never refused a guests request to sit in a requested servers section. I made every effort to make it happen unless the server was off or getting off of a shift. But never did I lie as this GM and management staff have done. 4) The Bar - You gotta catch the right bartender or your basic mixed drink or house special will be screwed up. The beer selection is good for a on-site brew and the homemade sodas are good as well and refills on the sodas are an excellent value. But again hit or miss at times with the bar. Over all this rating I gave BJ's is largely due to management and some food issues. I know if new management came in and cleaned out the poor performers this could be a rock solid eatery.

Loved the bartender (very nice and personable). The appetizer calamari was overcooked. Otherwise the wings, the beer and the BLT side salad were spectacular. Its a beautiful well maintained very ornate and lovely place for a date night.

We went there yesterday for lunch. There were 4 kids & 4 adults. Here are the "cliff notes": Pros: 1. I tried the IPA and stout. Both beers were tasty. 2. I had the jalapeño burger. I enjoyed it and the shoe string fries were well seasoned. 3. Our server was great. 4. Great customer service. More on this later. Cons: 1. Beers are a bit pricier than local options (Barley & Hops and Brewer's Alley). 2. Kitchen and bar were SLOW. It took almost 2 hour for our meal. My friend times how long it took for his second beer to arrive. It was literally 19+ minutes. Some of the food orders came out wrong/incomplete. With 3 six-year-olds and a four-year-old, we were running out of options to keep the kids entertained. 3. We had collectively decided we would NOT be returning to BJs. All of that said - the manager came by the table and apologized for all the mistakes, slowness, etc. She didn't make excuses and simply owned the problems. That was refreshing and we were willing to leave it at that. She then said our lunch was on her and asked if we wanted anything else to eat/drink. We thanked her for the free lunch and declined any more food, etc. The fact that we received a sincere apology would likely have been enough to make us give it one more try. The free lunch sealed it. We'll go back one more time and hope history doesn't repeat itself.

Food lacked flavor. Potato skins were disgusting. Pizza tasted like something from the freezer section at Giant with triple the price tag. Dredging on my chicken had much too much egg. It was like egg covered chicken. Awful.

The food came out very slow. The tea was like water. The waiter was nice but couldn't keep up with the volume of the restaurant. He seemed like a veteran but still wasn't able to keep the kitchen pumping out his orders. Maybe not his fault but guess what..... not mine either. There were 7 of us and they weren't able to accommodate is all at a table. I sat in a chair at the end of a 6 person booth. This was uncomfortable. I asked for a burger medium rare and it was well done. There was sausage in the lasagna we ordered when we clearly asked for a vegetarian meal. He apologized for like the fourth time. Lots of apologies from the waiter. All four burgers were cold. The shrimp scampi pasta had almost no sauce or flavor. There were TVs showing sports but the one by my table had the news on. I couldn't tell what was being said so I didn't watch. There was lots of noise. These arson the booth were cracked and torn. I'm not coming back. I spent $146 for a $40 dining experience.

We go quite often! First time we went was the day after they opened we waited 15min and no server came by to take our drink order, so we stopped another waiter walking by to see if he could find our waiter as we were ready to order both our drinks and food. He gladly took our entire order then told us he would find our waiter. He came back with our drinks and our actual waiter who apologized to us as they were still getting used to their sections. Food came out in a timely manner and was delicious! The chicken lettuce wraps were delicious! We have since been back a couple more times and I always try something new. The root beer and orange cream soda are yummy, and so is the Parmesan crusted chicken. Also if you can fit in the dessert get the pazooki!

This restaurant is new to the area. They opened across the street from Barley and Hops, a local restaurant and brewery. It's also across the street from an Applebee's. Given the title, I was expecting something more...like a better restaurant and brewery. They had a wide variety of beer but it was clear they didn't brew it there. (not that there is anything wrong with that) But honestly, with brewery in the title, I wanted a nice beer paired with my lunch. The beer is priced double that of Barley and Hops and comparatively half as flavorful. The food is certainly tastier than an Applebee's. The interior and exterior design of the restaurant is great. In the end, you don't go to a restaurant to look around. You go there to eat and take in the entire experience. Our server was really slow but pleasant. The place has only been opened for a month so maybe she's really new. For an appetizer, I had a chicken tortilla soup. Very cool serving presentation and full of flavor. Seriously, that was a really tasty soup! For the entree, I had the barbecue bison burger. The plating was nice but it really lacked flavor. It didn't have chipotle BBQ sauce, pico de gallo, or baja sauce (as listed on the menu). I actually looked up the burger, once I got home. I bet it would have been a halfway decent tasting burger, if they would have remembered to include everything listed in the menu description. The one thing worth going for was the dessert, a "Pizookie" trio. It's three mini fresh baked cookies (white chocolate and macadamia nut, chocolate chip and a chocolate on chocolate), with ice cream, served in mini pizza style pans. Proceeds from Pizookie sales go to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. A little charity is always nice. If you want to have a tasty beer (made on site) with your lunch or dinner, go across the street to Barley and Hops. If you're thinking of maybe going to Applebee's, try this place. I'm sure this location will get better in time. For that reason, we'll give it another shot. Until then, I'm looking forward to a few outings to Barley and Hops. ps. If you have kids, bring some paper for drawing. They hand out crayons and a paper menu but it's really not that fun for a kid. A few math problems? Really?

I have been here twice now for lunch and ordered soup and salad. Both times their food tore me up. Don't think I will be back.

It was our second time at BJ half an hour ago. The service was super slow with a total of three different people waiting on us. My husband ordered a burger and it was cold, dry, and not even half a pound! I ordered Hawaiian mahi mahi, supposedly with spicy soy ginger sauce, and the flavor was bland. There was no ginger at all! We also ordered the tomato mozzarella and the tomatoes where anemic. BJ's food are not worth the price they are charging. On our first visit, the bison burger was as dry as leather. The kids liked the root beer but we will never go back there again.

We order a bunch of appetizer. The sampler appetizer is your standard flare nothing to brag about similar to any chains restaurant like TGIF. The ahi poke taste a little gummy and the crispy wanton doesn't taste or feel like a wanton skin it taste like very bland rice cracker. The shrimp wraps were ok you can taste all the ingredients listed on the menu minus the shrimp is not fresh. It taste like frozen pre cooked shrimp very gummy. We finally got our entrees my burger and fries were cold once the fries are cold especially is thinly slices they are no good. It taste like shredded cardboard, I liked my fries hot and crispy. I had better burger the fried jalapeño is heavily coated with batter very soggy and greasy not spicy at all. I don't taste the chipotle sauce or baja sauce, the lettuce and tomato were all wilted. Over all It was big messy plain cold burger. I would only go back to BJ for their crafted beers nothing else.

Overall, the food is decent, and there is a decent selection of beer on tap / in bottles. Employees are for the most part very attentive. Food and drinks always make it out in a timely fashion. One thing I can't wrap my head around is why you refuse to turn the sound on for an NFL night game? I know it isn't a sports bar, but the set up is fantastic for a game given the seating, and the placement of your billion inch TV screen. You are without question doing yourself a disservice by splitting the screen into 4 smaller screens with no sound for a Monday night game. That will deter a lot of people from coming to your establishment. Take me for example. I walked in last night, asked if the sound was going to be on, and was told no before I could finish my question. I spent 100 bucks across the street. I'm not saying you should turn into a BWW or anything, but the sound for a Monday / Thursday night game should be doable. To boot, you would make more money!

I have no complaints regarding the food. Complaints: Service!! Is that what you call it? To be honest if the waitresses and waiters had left the back wall I think the building would have tumbled in. Now honestly I don't like to raise my voice but I had to yell at one of the servers to please come and assist me. They sent out a steak with a butter knife. After verbally tackling the server I requested a steak knife. Will I return? Probably not. Good Luck!

I gave 3 stars as our experience wasn't bad but could have been better. It was our first time here and I well say our waitress seemed a bit overworked. The service was very very slow. The food was ok. ..I had the bacon cheeseburger. I ordered med well but it came out well add pretty dry. It was supposed to be a half pound burger but did not seem like it. Good brioche style bun but the burger was just to small for the bun. Definitely not worth the 10 buck price. Wife had the bone in New York strip and she said it was very good. We will try Bj's again at some point when we are back in the area, it's a very visually appealing place and overall we enjoyed it.

Every time I have been here, the service has been sub-par, but I waited to give them a chance to settle in before I gave a bad review. Last night was my fourth visit to BJ's, and likely my last. I came for dinner and had about a 5 minute wait at 7 pm. Not bad for the dinner rush, I have to say. Then we were seated and the waiter, who must have been new, came over to greet us. We ordered our drinks, and the beer took over 15 minutes to arrive at the table. We ordered our food:calamari as an app, a small pizza for me, and jambalaya for the person with me. 20 minutes later, the pizza shows up. (We have no utensils at this point either. Every time I have been here I have had to ask for silverware.) We asked about the calamari, and he tells us he "must not have caught that". 10 minutes later, I am eating very awkwardly so that my pizza doesn't get cold...and he brings the calamari (which was VERY greasy and cold). We had to ask about the jambalaya, which he had to search for, and had apparently forgotten to put in as well because he didn't have any idea where it could be. We finally got the jambalaya after I was completely finished eating. It was a lousy experience to say the least. Even though I love the food, I don't want to beg them to bring it to my table. BJ's is not the place for me.

We came on a Sunday night and were told there would be a 30 minutes wait for a table. Since it was a little crowded we were ok with that and got drinks at the bar while we waited. After about 45 minutes we still hadn't been seated so we asked the hostesses if we had accidentally been skipped. They said "Oh sorry it was really a 30-40 minute wait. It should be just another 2 or 3 minutes." .....oooookay it had already been more than 40.... It was another 15 minutes before we were finally shown to our table. Things didn't get better though..... We sat for about 10-15 minutes with server after server walking past our table and no one came to greet us. We finally tried waving a server over and she looked right at us and kept walking.... Nice. We were finally able to get the attention of another server and we placed our order. The food was extremely mediocre and the bar tender didn't even know how to make a bay breeze.... I was brought a sea breeze instead.... Pretty pathetic and I will not be coming back.

Very nice atmosphere. Lots of choices. Actually TOO MANY. However the food was excelleny. I ordered the cChicken Tuscany Limone that was awesome and she ordered the roast beef dip. The beers were bery good but they were not cheap about 5 for a draft upwards to 8-10 for the upper crust beers.

I will start off by saying we have been here only once so we may go back to see if its better. The service is ok at best an the food is average at best. The price for what you get is not good.

Never made it past the incompetent reception staff. Called ahead, checked in and waited an hour. Checked in a second time, continued to wait. Then they gave our table away to another party of five. No restaurant is worth that kind of aggravation, new or not.

This is a sports-bar version of the cheesecake factory, replacing cheesecake with beer. Huge portions, a huge menu, prices are reasonable. I liked that they had potato skins on the menu (a forgotten treasure it seems at most restaurants these days) and for $10 the appetizer easily fed four adults and one child. I got a burger, which seemed fresh and handmade. It was quite tasty. Our service was fast and friendly if slightly forgetful... And really the only complaint I have is the desserts- named pizzokies. This seems wrong to me. They are warmed cookies from what I can tell, and the salted caramel one was really good. But on principal I just can't get over the dumb name. I felt stupid ordering it, which is never a good thing. Four adults got meals, plus an appetizer and dessert, plus three beers and a kids meal, for around $80. Not too shabby. I'm not sure we'd go back, but it wasn't a bad place and by the time we were leaving aT seven on a thurs night it was jam packed...

I really want to like this restaurant. I've been here a handful of times and the food is good and the lunch prices are decent. However, the food has been incredibly slow coming out of the kitchen the last few times we've visited. They also seem to be running out of items on the menu, one example being French fries. As much as my kids love coming for the pizookies, we just haven't been back because it's not worth the effort to entertain my children for so long.

Awesome atmosphere, a little loud for my liking though. Beer selection was good and my burger was fabulous. Pretty competitive price, would choose over Red Robin in a heartbeat.

I have only been here once but I will be back for sure. The food was delicious and the beer was A-MAZ-ING. Our waitress was friendly and efficient. The ambiance of the place is lougesque (and really clean) with low lighting, buzz of conversation, and an excited feel.

I went here after my college graduation and had never been but would love to go back! They had such good food, nothing I ate could I possibly complain about, it was all so good, especially their white cheddar mashed potatoes! I also had their signature Mojito, first-time-ever BTW, and it was sooooo good!! I haven't had one as good since! Definitely worth the 20 minute drive to Frederick!

Loved the atmosphere and beer. The service was ok. The kicker was that they ran out of TWO dishes that I wanted which was annoying. My fiancé liked his burger and it was huge. I haven't decided if I'll be back or not.

Enjoyed dinner last night with my husband and in-laws. It was crowded for a Thursday, but we did not have to wait long for a table. Our server was very friendly and knowledgable. Service was fairly quick considering how busy it was. The potato skins were a good choice for four people as an appetizer. They give you a lot! The pasta dishes are amazing. I love the Cajun chicken and my mother-in-law had the Scampi. My husband enjoyed the spicy Jambalaya, while his dad loved the ribeye. Our only complaint was the music is pretty loud. Like being in a night club! Other than that, we will definitely be back

BJs has great food. Every time I have been there for dinner I have been completely satisfied, and they are good about substitutions and such. I have never been there on a game day but it seems like it would be a fun place to see a game. The waitress lauren was great ask for her. the only down side is the hostess they seem to think that at their level they run the place a good attitude adjustment would make this a 5 plus

  • Jerry W.

With its beautiful Art Deco mural, granite tabletops, dark wood accents, and stunning bar, BJ's is truly a gorgeous restaurant - hands down the fanciest sports bar I have ever eaten in. That being said, the menu doesn't reflect the decor, that isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I think its important to note. The menu serves casual dining staples like grilled salmon and rice pilaf, rib eye with mash potatoes and green beans, pizzas, burgers, and a handful of pasta dishes (you get the idea). During my visit to BJ's, I had their burger with cheddar and bacon and a side of french fries ($8.95). My wife had their raspberry tea mocktail and shrimp tacos (two), which were stuffed with shrimp (at least 8 shrimp per taco) and came with a side of tortilla chips and two kinds of sauces. We also shared their corn fritters with chipotle/bacon aioli (best bite of the night). My burger was flavorful and my wife enjoyed her drink and tacos. Our meal came to 27 dollars. I give BJ's 3 stars for the food (Average for Yelp) and an additional star for the decor and excellent service.

  • Liz E.

I am really surprised to see all the negative reviews. I have been to BJ's multiple times and never had an issue. The only time where service was slow was when our waitress had a table of 20 but she told us before hand so it didn't bother me. The beer is pretty decent and the bar can pretty much make anything you want. I have had everything from the crispy jalapeno burger, pizza, balsamic glazed chicken, and the Mediterranean chicken pita tacos with no complaint. Oh and they Pizookie's are to die for so make sure you save room for that!

Had dinner with my family tonite, party of 4. Called ahead and was told there was a 30 minute wait (didn't understand this but okay). Arrived at our reservation time and was seated within 5 minutes - felt bad for all the people that were there before us. Stacy, our server, was very nice and informative. That's where it ended. Took nearly 2 hours to complete the meal! Our two beers came our rather quick but nearly 15 minutes for the kids sodas to arrive. Stacy lost the first tray when another coworker bumped into her but I would have thought that someone would have expedited the re-order. Corn fritters came out after 10 minutes but realizing the other tables were not getting their stuff, I ordered calamari - took nearly 25 minutes to arrive. After 90 minutes, I grabbed the manager to let him know we had been waiting and he said he would check on it. The burgers and tacos arrived soon after. Never heard from him again but saw him walking thru the restaurant picking up menus and running back to the hostess station. The charm we had seen initially from Stacy had all but evaporated., We asked for the check and Stacy said the manager had adjusted the bill because of the wait, I had to look at the bill to see what was up, seeing he had taken off the calamari as a nice gesture. As we walked out I stopped the manager to thank him but also the say he should have followed up with us at the table. His comment was "I got real busy". Really? I worked in the business for many years. I have not had service like this in a long time. It was just beer and burgers. Would definitely go to Wag's in downtown Frederick before returning here again.

We were a group of 12 for a business lunch and called ahead for a reservation. It was the first time dining here for all of us. However the waiter dropped a full glass of iced tea behind me & my coworker which splashed our coats & partially our clothes. They came by to clean up floor fairly quickly - we were given a few extra napkins by the waiter who said he was sorry. I get that he may have been embarrassed, but it was really treated as a nonevent. And we did not make any kind of scene. We're quite sure the staff did not tell the manager. Unfortunately this, along with a few other minor mix ups with our orders, didn't leave an overall great impression. Food was good and fair value for the prices. Nice decor and not too loud. All in all, consensus was would go back and maybe try their brews after work. And hope they step up their customer service a bit. A new restaurant generally has more attentive managers and enthusiastic hostesses to ensure future visits.

I went for lunch at 11:30. It was mostly empty when I arrived. I ordered soup and salad. It took so long to arrive that I had less than 10 minutes left of my 60 minute lunch break. The soup was too salty and the salad limp. I gobbled my food down and had to get up and track down my server for the ticket. Completely ridiculous. I will not be returning.

I visited this place on 1/5/14 around 5pm for a post holiday lunch with the girls before work. I had heard good things about BJ's and was excited to give it a try. I couldn't have been more disappointed. The food was mediocre at best & my server was horrible. My drink was rarely refilled and when it was it was by the girl he was training. The one time he did bring drinks he put his arm directly in my entree. I asked him if he realized he had his arm in my food and he said "no" and offered to send the manager over. About 15-20 mins later a man comes over and asks if he can take our dishes to which we said ok. Then the waiter comes over with the checks. I asked him if he where the manager was and he stated the manager said he came over twice (which he didn't) and we said everything was ok. He points to the guy and apparently the man that took our dishes was the manager. Uh aren't you supposed to introduce yourself or ask about the issue? We never even realized he was the manager! Needless to say I will NEVER IN LIFE return to this place nor recommend it.

Beautiful ambiance, but not much else. Very clean and new. Huge! Easy to get in too but here ends the good stuff. Clearly the cost of the menu items is going to pay for the oversized building with giant TV's and of course to management paycheck cuz it sure isn't going into the food. You can tell a lot about a place from the dressings they serve. Ranch came with the dinner salad and was also placed as a side to the kids meals. Right out of a plastic container with out even a hint of a quality name brand. $10.95 for spring rolls that came out a bag from the schwans guy. The fish and chips was ok but lacking in flavor even though the batter was made with one of their hand crafted beers. I hope the beer on its own has more flavor or what's the point. Wife said her salmon was pretty good but nothing special. Could have gotten it at an Applebee's. Service was ok as well which is to say that we were served. When the waitress asked if we had been in before we answered "no". Great opportunity for here to upsell us on the menu or dessert which we didn't end up ordering. No. She took the time to tell my two kids that they had ten hand crafted beers which we didn't order either. Know your audience and in the mean the, remove some of the used dishes from the table once in a while.

Okay food. Wine was a bit on pricey side. (I guess because it is a brew house). House Cabernet was $10.25 during Happy hour hours on a Wednesday evening. Ordered appetizers, egg rolls are good!!! The lettuce wraps are good & spicy but I want to wrap my own lettuce wraps. Not have the kitchen dictate the wrap contents. Overall......ok in my opinion. 2 appetizers & 4 glasses of wine ( yes, I was with a friend) ....... The bill was $66!!!! Then we were told happy hour specials were available at the bar only.

They just opened this branch few weeks ago. They were offering free food for about a week. Excellent service. The staff were all well trained, polite, and friendly. The restaurant was crowded with customers, but we still got fast and professional service. The food was excellent. I can't say anything bad about it. We had calamary for an appetizer. It was flavourful, hot, and taisty. I ordered chicken sandwich and my husband had a burger. They were both taisty, hot, and juicy. The presentation was eye catching. The portion size was great for the value. Steve made an excellent recommendation for our drinks. Very knowledgable about the menu and very polite. I highly recomment u to try this location.

Went to BJs for dinner on a week night. The service was slow and the food was nothing special. I ordered the Cobb Salad and was disappointed. Just a lot of iceberg lettuce with a little bacon and scant tomatoes. It did have 1/2 avocado on top but that couldn't save it. For the price is was a fail and I'll never go back.

Ok this is a new upper mid scale brew house outside of FSK mall.. The face of the building rather preposterously faces the road so everyone has to either park on the side or the back and trek around front.. Not sure what to make of that.. Inside the building there is a nice upscale feel to the decore. The hosts stand rather looks like a concierge desk. Scattered around are the usual tv's hopelessly set for sports and 1 on the news. Appetisers were fried artichoke hearts which were ok and the corn fritters which were awesome. Food was ordered.. I had the Pasta with alfredo, broccoli and chicken and my companion had the pork chops with green beans and mash. There really is no way to put this less bluntly.. the pasta was deadly deadly dull. There was no flavor whatso ever. The chops were flavorful but dry. The beans were not seasoned at all. The mash potatoes were, however, quite good. Other things that let the experience down were the wait staff not being fully up to speed on the menu and the napkins were actually wet. When these things were pointed out to management nothing was offered to compensate.. Not a dessert or a discount or anything.. he just offered the bill.. Which is not good customer service.. Bj's seems to be more focused on the beers than the food. Strike one.

My husband and I met another couple for dinner on Saturday night. We called during the week and were told they only accepted call ahead seating. No problem. We called at 5:30 and were warmly greeted. Upon arrival, we were told a 30-40 minutes wait. Approximately 20 minutes later, I watched a woman and her 2 young children arrive. When her husband came in, about 20 minutes later, they were seated. We were confused and went to see why that occurred. We were told there were only 4 more groups in front of us. We ended up waiting an hour and a half. While the food was good, it was absolutely NOT worth the wait and the aggravation of seeing other people seated before people who had waited a much longer time. There are far too many good restaurants in Frederick to tolerate this kind of behavior. In the futuer we will return to more of the restaurants downtown, where they value your business.

Went this past Saturday night for dinner. Arrived around 7:30 and was told there was an hour and 20 minute wait, so my husband and I decided to sit at the bar. There was a gentlemen beside me who leaned over to me and said "good luck getting a drink. The bartender came to me once and I have been trying to settle my bill and I am still waiting". I said "excuse me" three times before she acknowledge me, but with an attitude like you are bothering me. We both ordered drinks and then sat and waited and waited. Absolutely ridiculous! The bar was full and only two bartenders. One working and the other just taking her time. We actually timed her and it took her 4 minutes to make one drink to which she had to look off the menu to see what was included. After waiting almost 35 minutes for a drink, we asked for our check and left. I told the manager that the bar service was terrible and that I have never seen a bartender so put out when we asked for a drink. She was awful. We will never go back again.

Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations.
