I love road trips that include Cracker Barrel. You see the tall sign for it, and you just get excited. We went to this one because we didn't want to stop at the Delaware Travel Plaza and get fast food. It's right on the MD/DE border. I ordered the regular pancakes with a side of their biscuits and gravy, while my husband ordered pecan pancakes. The only reason I give the place 4 stars instead of 5 were that my biscuits were a little burned, and my husband's pecan pancakes were a little dry. Otherwise, everything else was as expected of a CB: friendly service, awesome breakfast food all day, and a cool shop to waste time in. Just a note: this CB is off 109A, but not immediately on the road that the exit leads off on. You have to take a left on Belle Hill Rd and sort of snake behind that exit road to get to it. My husband and I got a little confused while looking for it.

Cracker Barrel. So in love with you. Let me count the ways... 1. You're cheap 2. You sell stuff other than food (my particular interests roam over to the cast iron skillets) 3. You always do your best at serving me 4. You have games at the table (so that I can beat my companions) 5. Your biscuits are always hot and fresh (and you serve apple butter) 6. When ever I'm somewhere in the boonies, you're always around waiting on me to stop by 7. You serve breakfast All day!!! The last time I was here, my friend paid $20 for three meals (he's rich ya know). So stop in on a warm sunny day. Chill out in a rocking chair while you wait to be seated or fiddle with random items packed in the front store.

My family and I always hit the local cracker barrel for breakfast. It has become a family tradition. We always enjoy our breakfast here. The food is fresh and the service in good. Love their coffee here, it's the best!!! The people are very friendly. I love the store outside the eating area. If we ever have to wait to be seated (very rare) or want to digest our food, we walk around the store to look through all the knick knacks and old school candy/toys. The place is relatively clean. I will be coming back again for more years to come.

Lived in the area for many years, but I've never been here until now. Stopped in last week with my wife after hearing about Cracker Barrel from my mother-in-law who visits the one up in the Lancaster, PA area. I though that we were getting breakfast (brunch), but both me and my wife desired on on lunch. I've never had country fried steak before so I wanted to be adventurous and tried it. Very good. It was more like Salisbury steak than a real sirloin or NY strip steak. The mashed potatoes were fantastic. The hash brown casserole was so good that I found a copy cat recipe to try out at home! Lots of food too! The main entrees come with a choice of THREE sides. WOW. My wife ordered the chicken tenders and loved them! We're looking to go back sometime to order from the breakfast menu.

We really need this in NYC. Not my first visit., but my first here. When opportunity presents itself. I definitely take advantage of the entire dinning and shopping experience all under one roof. Love their stretch of rocking chairs as you walk to the entry way. Once inside you're in their store., they have All your childhood candies. To Cast iron pots, griddles., theirs a host of candles from Yankees candle as well as local vendors. Kindly greeted immediately once you enter. Hostess very friendly as she walks you through the dinning area to be seated. Cracker Barrell truly a Southern food experience. Everything fresh. Love thir apple butter on request. If you don't ask. YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE IT.

This is our tradational breakfast place when we head to the beach in DE. The food is pretty good for the price. The menu is kinda confusing since there are many options but each item is just a little different from another.

When doing long road trips, I've always known that visiting Cracker Barrel is something you just do, no questions asked. On my recent trip to Maryland, I was thrilled to have my first taste of the famous CB. We planned out which one was on our way back- visiting this location was just a luck of the draw. It was a rainy night, so we didn't get to check out the rows of rocking chairs they have right outside. But how cute is that? I don't have a rocking chair at home, so whenever I see one I usually have to sit in it! To get to the restaurant, you have to walk through the gift shop. Which is fine by me because man did I want to buy everything I saw. More about the gift shop after we talk food. We were called to be seated in just minutes and followed our hostess. To get to our table, we walked past a huge and beautiful fireplace, with a real fire! (City girl here.) On a cold rainy day, this was a sight for sore eyes. The dining area is pretty big, so I could only imagine the wait time being long on holidays. The decor is awesome- a mixture of antique pieces and photos. I fall in love with any restaurant that recognizes how waiting for your food can be, well, boring. But CB has got you covered. At every table is a simple peg board game. The game itself was addicting, so when my food arrived, I didn't even notice the time pass. The food was delicious. I ordered the Roast Beef with mashed potatoes, corn, and macaroni & cheese on the side with a corn muffin. The gravy on the roast beef was perfect. I'm salivating just remembering this meal. I usually order dessert at any restaurant I visit, but I had my eye on some candy and cookies I saw in the gift shop. Our server was very sweet and attentive with us. The gift shop. Man oh man- is it a destination in and of itself! They've got lots of vintage candies, toys and knick knacks. Items that make you say, "I remember that!" or "I haven't seen these in years!". There's a small kids section and the rest of the store is pretty much country living themed. And again- maybe I love it so much because I don't get to see that much here in the city. Needless to say, I picked myself up a few treasures. I realized why people love and talk about Cracker Barrel so much- especially on long road trips. It's because CB is a taste of home for weary travelers. This location gets bonus points for thinking I was Katy Perry!

Staff is very nice, service was good and everything was fast. BUT the food is just okay almost bland. I was reading some other reviews for this place and everyone seems to love it here. I can't believe it, the food here almost has no flavor at all! Maybe this place is just not for me, just a heads-up that it might not be for you.

Always a great meal at Cracker Barrel. I've had pretty much everything they offer from breakfast lunch and dinner foods. My favorites remain the chicken and dumplings, and the ribeye steak! Great quality comfort food at affordable prices! Biscuits and corn muffins are always hot and fresh and the service is always very friendly and efficient. The gift shop is a death trap if you've got kids with you and some of the things are fairly pricey. But there is always a few really cool gizmos and gadgets to play around with. They sell all sorts of retro candy as well. Great place all around! I've been to many different CB's and they all are very consistent. Keep up the great work CB!

Visited the Cracker Barrel in Elkton a few weeks back and found the service and food to be excellent. We were seated immediately, and the waitress took our order a few minutes later. Food was on the table within 15 minutes. Country fried steak was delicious. If you are tired of fast food and are looking for home style cooking, recommend you try them.

$11 for a full hot meal of country fried chicken breast steak, with mashed potatoes, fried apples n corn. Can't beat it.

Good service and home-style food. Candle smells in gift shop a little overwhelming. Nice fire in fireplace

This review is based primarily on the breakfast meal that me and my girl had. I had an egg-beaters bake and she had apple French toast. Both were excellent, and the coffee was perfect. She described the French toast as apple pie transcendence. Unfortunately, we later tried the dinner which I would describe as fair at best (that is the reason for the 4-rating). Additionally, one of our dinner plates also had a huge and sharp chipped rim. In my experience, the breakfasts are their shining stars and perhaps we made some bad selections from their dinner menu.

Everyone always talks so highly of Cracker Barrel, however I did not have a good experience. I got the Grandpa's Country Fried Breakfast. I don't like eggs, so I asked the waitress if I could get sausages instead. The waitress said "there's no substitution allowed." I thought that was a little weird. A few minutes later at the table behind us, a lady order the same thing that I got and her waitress asked her if " eggs were alright", and the lady got to switch out her eggs for bacon. What the Heck! Anywho, the Grandpa's Country Fried Breakfast consist of two eggs, grits, side of gravy, biscuits, hashbrown casserole, and country fried chicken. I gave my eggs to my Fiance since I couldn't get sausages. My grits were bland, I added butter and sugar to them, and they still just didn't taste good. The gravy looked and taste liked they just emptied gravy out of a can and heated it on the stove. My chicken tasted really good, was very flavorful, however it was really dry. The only thing that tasted good was the biscuits, the chicken (although it was dry, so that knocks it down a few pegs) and the Hashbrown casserole. I think my expectations were high because everyone talks so highly of Cracker Barrel. I was very disapointed with my meal.

No matter where they put a Cracker Barrel people will flock there and for good reason. They feel like home. Somehow CB has managed to make simple food that people can't get enough of. This location is no different. The food is good and the prices are good. Are you going to leave here and say, wow, I've never had that before...probably not, but you will put some sweatpants on when you get home and be happy.

wow sooooooo tasty. I had French toast, eggs, sausage and hashbrown casserole. only disappointment was that the casserole was $2.79 as a side item and it was a very tiny amount. the coffee was hot and fresh, and my server was great. I would definitely come back. it was a Friday at about 10am and the place was packed.

One of my all time favorite places to eat and shop. They have cute shirts and skirts and fun novelty items based on different themes and time of year. On this stop in Aug it was Apple Theme, Horse Theme, America, local sports team, Halloween and a small start on Christmas. So many cute things to choose between! The service at the Elkton MD store was excellent! All the staff were helpful, friendly and had me leaving with a smile on my face. New on the menu was a BBQ Pork Dinner - Large piece of tender pork, best BBQ sauce I have ever had, all on top of Corn Bread pancakes. Who ever thought of putting those flavors together was a genius - it was great. Coleslaw also good and corn/steak fries were well corn and steak fries. They also had a new drink of 1/2 lemonade and 1/2 tea - this is something I do myself at the self serve stations so it was very nice to see that they had picked up on that idea and were offering it as a drink.

You'd think all Cracker Barrels would be the same. I have always had delicious comfort food at Cracker Barrels throughout the country. This location has disappointed me several times. The service is terrible and the food is cold. Good luck finding your server for your check when you're ready to leave. This location is not worth the time to try again.

Another consistently good meal at a typical Cracker Barrel. Blueberry pancakes with blueberry syrup excellent. Great biscuits and grits. Coffee was ok.

Everytime I visit my in-laws I try to make it here. I love their friendly staff, the store and of course the food! They have been slacking on their food (I've gotten it luke warm the last 2 times) but I'll let it slide because they are always eager to please, always willing to accomodate as best they can earns them their 4th star. I realize this place is a franchise but with that said the people that work here seem to care enough to keep the feel of a mom and pop shop. I would definitely recommend this place!

Driving up 95 on my way to a baby shower I decided to stop in for some breakfast. Upon entering I wasn't in press with the customer service. It took the young lady a few minutes to wait on me and the young lady looked like she had an aditude. Another person had to come to me from behind to offer me some service. I then had to wait about 10 minutes more for a waitress to come from the back to take my takeout order. The food took about 15 minutes to come out. I ordered french toast, bacon, eggs over medium, and a orange juice. It came up to about 13 dollars. The food was delicious. I would definitely go back. I just hope I don't get the the same people to wait on me.

Cracker Barrel is just one of those novelty places that makes you feel cozy and at home. I would definitely recommend the breakfast items- you can't go wrong with any pancakes or french toast. I especially like the blueberry pancakes, yum! I also really liked the pecan-crusted fish. It's on the "healthy" section of the menu- under 500 calories or something like that. Anyways, it was absolutely delicious!! I would definitely order it again. They also have a new policy where they only bring you biscuits and cornbread if you ask for it, so don't forget to ask! I don't really like the cornbread, but the biscuits are great!

An OK family type of restaurant. Close friends treated me so the company was great. However, the meal I had (sampler) was mediocre at best.

Are you kidding me?!? Here are my top 3 favorite things from my visit here: 1. The fact that their menu says "Here at Cracker Barrel Old Country Store we know that many folks are watching what they eat" in front of a breakfast containing 3 eggs, bacon, sausage AND ham. Hello? In what universe is that a health-conscious breakfast? 2. In their gift shop they offer a gift set for young girls called "My Wedding Day Dress Up Accessory Set" (see posted pic)...because 5 year olds need to be ready for "the big day". Shouldn't the set come with a shotgun? 3. The "backwoods Barbie collectors edition" also available. I know what my nieces are getting for Christmas :) OMG...this place is hysterical. Oh yeah...they have food too, which wasn't great. For my money, I'd turn around and go back to Waffle House. But sometimes, ambiance is more important than food quality...and for that, you've GOT to spend a hung-over Saturday brunch at Cracker Barrel.

Well...what can i sat. It's a CB, alright. I was super excited to come because I didn't have to beg the boyfriend to take me. He agreed without much of a fight. So, already, I had a good feeling about it. We got there around 11 on Saturday morning. it was PACKED. But, I never mind the wait. I'm a big kid, wandering thru the country store, while I wait for my table. I occupy myself for at least 10 minutes just smelling the candles. Another 10 minutes trying out all the lotions :) There was a lot of good stuff to mess with, here. Our waiter was adorable and super fast! Sadly, I forgot his name as soon as he told us what it was :( I always get the blueberry pancakes with blueberry syrup and the hashbrown casserole. The bf had the meatloaf. It was actually pretty good! The only thing I don't like is having to wait in line to pay once we're finished eating. After stuffing myself silly, I just wanna pay, go home and take a nap.

I love this place! We always get to-go orders because we have a needy dog at home who doesn't like to be home alone for too long. I usually get the meatloaf, turnip greens, and mashed potatoes, which are all excellent and taste just like Mom makes. My most recent visit, the server taking our order, mentioned the new turkey and dressing meal. I figured why not and went for something different. The portions were HUGE, it actually was enough for two meals for me. The turkey was super juicy, the stuffing was good and the mashed potatoes are always lumpy and perfect. The one thing I wasn't crazy about was they put gravy on every item. I'm not a big gravy person, but I still enjoyed the meal. We have never had a bad experience here and the food is always on point.

What's not to like about the Cracker Barrel?? The place is fun, the food good, the shopping always interesting..... the fudge.... worth driving an hour to get! Let's face it, the country store always has something new and interesting to look at. It's a great place to stop at, rock in a chair, play that weird peg game, get some food and do a little shopping for not a lot of money.

all of you are wondering where in the earth do you find such a place, well if you are on a road trip down I95, sometimes you want an option other than mcdonald's, pizza hut, cracker barrel is similar to those places, but at least you have better options than those traditional fast food places, if you haven't been here, its time to make a stop, they have all kinds of food at very affordable prices, steak, fish, burger etc. at about $10 per entree, what makes this place unique is the layout of the store, its not just a restaurant, it has a store next to it with goodies and outside are cute little chairs in pairs in different sizes, its a different experience that would be worth a visit for a rest stop along the road down I95 and believe it or not, there was a wait to get in here

We eat at Cracker Barrel a minimum of 3 times when we hit the east coast. This time this was the fifth cracker Barrel that we ate at and by far the worst. Teresa was nice enough but perhaps was overwhelmed by the two other tables that she had. She forgot parts of our order and was just plain slow. The food also was not up to par with the rest of the cracker barrel's we have eaten at during our trip. Not even the pancakes were good.

Stopped in here twice recently for lunch - once on my way down to Virginia and on my way back. I wouldn't call myself a Cracker Barrel regular by any means, considering there are none where I live, but I've been to a couple in my day, and this one was decent. It's right off I-95 and a good place to stop between New York and DC. It is possible to eat relatively healthy here. For the my first visit here, I ordered a plain egg white omelet with turkey sausage. I asked for it on the dry side and it actually wasn't swimming in butter. The turkey sausage was not greasy either. The second visit, I ordered a grilled chicken over salad and everything was fresh. I really had no complaints about the food. As far as an unhealthy item, my wife ordered the fried chicken breasts on our first visit, with turnip greens, which were both pretty fantastic, although I only had a taste. As long as you're not expecting a gourmet meal, you shouldn't really be disappointed. The one knock about this location is that I didn't find it particularly clean. Not necessary dirty, but definitely not clean. Service was attentive both times I went.

Before you read further the food is good even at this one. When I called in for take out I kept being put on hold and transferred to someone else. Finally the third person took my order. What a disappointment this was. I have been to several different Cracker Barrels in different states and this had the worst service ever. I ordered take out. I had a sandwich with soup. They had 2 choices of soup. YEP, they gave me the wrong one. My friend had a meal and the order taker specifically asked if I wanted biscuits. Never saw them. The food was ready in the time frame they promised. I imagine if you eat there you won't have these issues.

I have ate many times at this establishment many times but my recent outing was completely unacceptable. When we arrived at the restaurant we were greeted with a 25 min. wait time ( I thought was debatable with the lack of cars in the parking lot). Then we were seated and the waitress took our drink order and returned for our food order. I personally ordered the Grandpa's Country Fried Breakfast (Two Eggs Scrambled with Grits, Sawmill Gravy and Homemade Buttermilk Biscuits along with Hashbrown Casserole and Country Fried Steak.) When our meals had arrived we noticed we were not given silverware and requested to the waiter that she provide us with the necessary utensils. While waiting for the waitress to return I decided to take matters into my own hands and try the Hashbrown Casserole and pinch some with my fingers to try it out. I bit down on the casserole only to hear a LOUD CRUNCH and sharp pain on my tooth. To my surprise I reached in my mouth and pulled out a 1" piece of broken plate that was inside the casserole prior and now inside my mouth. Lucky there was no blood or tooth damage. FIFTEEN min. later our silverware arrived and our fresh biscuts and cornbread was basically dumbed on the plate that was already on our table instead of placing the plate on the table and taking the other and I asked to speak to the manager. He took my plate gave me a new meal and requested I fill out a questionnaire after my meal. To top it off our waitress never returned to refill our drinks and almost forgot to give us the bill while proceeding to tell us to "have a good night and thanks for visiting" Needless to say I won't be visiting Cracker Barrel for some time.

Service was actually kind of slow when we were here but other than that everything was up to par with what you would expect from a cracker barrel chain restaurant. Need I say more? :) This one is rather conveniently located off of I-95 (then again, aren't they all off some interstate?).

Our last stop before reaching the home and as usual a great family dinner. I had the ribeye medium well and it was cooked perfectly my family had chicken and loved it. Friendly staff a plus. the shop is always a treat.

Like every other Cracker Barrel. Stopped in on the way down to DC to grab breakfast and it was tasty and had huge portion sizes. We had enough to feed twice the number of people as we had. Also got the apple gummy snacks, which were an awesome snack for the rest of the weekend.

I am still reeling with how awful my meal was there! Can they really do that to food. It was so salty and I am kind of a salt addict. The carrots tasted like sugary cardboard. Our waitress didn't know if the mineral water was fizzy or not and dropped the plastic bottles on the the table with no glass. I will never go there again, and will opt for Mcdonald's which I wouldn't normally eat over this any day.

Was invited there by a really sweet lady friend. Met her along with about a dozen of her friends. Meal and service was pretty darn good considering the size of the party and the crowd. They must be doing something right with people constantly waiting for a table.

  • Anastasia C.

What can I say? I love their biscuits. The cornbread is good, too. Free refills on lemonade and soda, hash brown pie and some yummy desserts, if you're still hungry after your meal. Oh, and breakfast at any time. Its not healthy, its not the best food ever and its a chain.... BUT, when I'm hungry and traveling down 95, I like to hit up Cracker Barrel.
