This new grill is fresh in both its appearance and decorations. Has a huge daily specials blackboard along one wall, and both booth and table seating. The food that was ordered and served was plentiful, fresh, hot and very delicious. Their salsa was amazingly fresh, spicy (probably too hot for native Marylanders) and thick-- quite a contract from the wimpy stuff served elsewhere. The service was friendly and helpful. They have a very nice, not overly complicated menu, that offers a blend of both mexicana and grill foods. My wife and I thought it was very good and its a definite repeat.

It's not that great. The interior is nice and I dot know about the bar or drink specials but as far as food it was quite poor. Everything tasted "fresh fro the freezer." The brought out chips and salsa AND a loaf of bread and butter (much like outback does) odd combo. Anyhow, we tried it because it was new place. But we will stick with Plazuelas.

Our first visit for dinner was great. It has a wonderful vibe with very friendly staff and nice attentive service. The fresh salsa was some of the best we have had. Our bartender B J made our first trip , definitly not our last. Thanks ..!!

My husband and I have eaten here several times. The food is always fresh and tasty. We like the fajitas, wings and roscas with guacamole. The margaritas are some of the best that I have had. My favorite is the cadillac margarita. The service is always great and friendly also. This is a place we will visit often!

We have been meaning to try this place as we pretty much try every joint with happy hour in the area, and we love Mexican food. First and last trip for us. Tried the Mexican Pizza, queso, chicken tacos and beef tacos. We both agreed without question, this was the worst food we have had in Edgewater. The pinkish queso has an off texture and almost has no taste. We ate three chips and couldn't do any more. The soft tacos came out swimming in about a 1/4 inch of juice/water and they had less flavor that the flavorless queso. one of the chicken tacos had less than a spoon full of chicken in the entire taco. We gave two of them back and they were kind enough to take them off of the bill. Friendly people, but who ever is making the food needs to find a new passion. Sorry, we will not return.

My fiance and I visited earlier this evening. The hostess was very friendly when we first walked in. As we arrived during happy hour, the bar part of the restaurant was extremely lively and quite loud. We opted for the quieter dining area. Kristen was our server and she was very attentive to us. I must complement the kitchen; our food was out very quickly! I also noticed that all employees ensured that tables were cleared off and almost instantaneously. I was impressed with their speed and attention to detail. I ordered a pina colada, which was fabulous! For my meal, I had the blackened shrimp tacos. The shrimp was cooked and seasoned to perfection. It had a nice kick without being too overpowering. My rice and beans were also very good. My fiance said that his cheese and bean burrito was quite good. Overall, I enjoyed my visit! I liked that the ingredients were fresh. We will most definitely return and try out some of the deserts (the polar bear cake sounded lovely).

Visited today for Happy Hour. Opted for the Taco Tuesday special. Should've ordered from the Happy Hour menu. Tacos had very little meat and even less flavor. Very bland rice. Not often leaving a restaurant hungrier than when I arrived.

I came in for brunch with some friends, who had been here a few times before. They have an option for $19.99 for a breakfast entree and bottomless bloody mary or mimosa, so I took the mimosa option while my friends went with bloody mary. I had the chicken friend steak, which my friend assured me was fantastic. Fantastic may have been a bit strong in my opinion, but it was OK. Covered in sausage gravy, served with two eggs and toast, it was a decent breakfast. One of my friends ordered the chipped beef gravy and biscuits, but when she asked for a little extra gravy on the side, she was told it would cost an additional $5.95! Seriously? For a ladle of gravy? When we got there around 10:30 on Sunday, we were the only customers in the place. A couple of other people came in after us, but it never got busy. The manager/owner did come around to chat with us, and the server Lily was great. But I wasn't impressed enough to get me to drive to Edgewater to come back.

Excellent service, but sadly a confused menu that was often an uninspired mismatch of cuisines. For example, pasta side dishes and beef marsala stew offerings despite the name and menu suggesting a Tex Mex restaurant. It was clean, and the food okay, but quite forgettable and frankly something you'd expect from Applebee's or Chili's. I couldn't help but feel that this was yet another spot making margin on the bar with the food as a loss leader. Again, nice folks and okay food, but with the Annapolis area really stepping up its game in terms of ethnic options (El Pan, Sin Fronteras, Limas, and Pollo Ricky's to name a few in this general category), there's real missed opportunity here to shine.

I have been here about half a dozen times now and always for happy hour. The staff is excellent and the food is good. I have not ordered many things off the menu, given that I am there for happy hour but what I have had has been good and I would order those items again.

Wow, this place was bad. I was dumb to ask for queso on my Chimi. I have no idea what the pink cheese was that came on it. It was more like a melted pimento cheese than a Queso. It was the worst queso I ever ate in my life. The food is very American and very average. This was my second trip here, I give 2 chances before a review. I wont go back again. I did try other items btw. The stuffed jalapeno poppers have a weird filling in them. The nachos were soaked with black bean juice. The best item I ate was the cheese quesadilla which is outstanding. Go for the quesadillo and a beer, skip everything else including their bad Margarita mix.

I was pleasently surprised during my 1st visit. Broadneck Grill is not your typical Mexican restaurant like the one it replaced. It has a wide variety of menu items (not just Mexican) to satisfy all sorts of cravings. It also has a great breakfast! I think it's cool that they have other social activities like trivia, painting & wine dinners too.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
