This place is pretty good. Good price and nice touches to add flare.

Cute little sushi place tucked in what seems to be a relatively slow shopping plaza. The hubby and I went during lunchtime on a weekday; it wasn't busy at all, so we had no problems with the speed of the service. The lunch special was pretty good: 10 pieces of nigiri and one roll for $10. This also includes choice of miso soup or salad and edamame. I got a few pieces of salmon and tuna, one white tuna, a couple of salmon roe, and ebi (shrimp) nigiri, all of which tasted very fresh. For the roll, I chose the salmon skin sushi, and it was delicious. For dessert, they gave us a little cup of cinnamon tea. Yum. All in all, this is a solid and reasonably-priced sushi joint, and I would definitely dine here again. The only caveat I can imagine would be if you are dining with a large party, as the seating space in the restaurant is limited.

I love this place. I have had the boulgogi (Korean dish) excellent choice. The sushi rolls are fresh. The pho is not the best but I still like it. The staff there are awesome always welcoming and fast service. You can dine in or carry out. I have yet to have a bad experience and I've been there many times since is right down the street.

Great location, good decor. I got the lunch special (10 nigiri and one roll of choice). I like that you could pick and choose what you like. The salmon was melt-in-your mouth delicate - as nigiri (fish on top of rice) and as salmon-avocado roll! The other options were good too (tuna, white tuna, red snapper, seaweed salad and tofu). Mushroom was surprisingly sweet and cold - reminds me of a type of Asian mushroom dish that I grew up with, but did not expect as sushi. Another yelper mentioned the rice to be dry, and I felt that too. Hence the 4-stars. The unsweetened tea was really good- not sure what kind it was - no bitter taste typical of black tea or green tea. Overall, very happy with the food and the service. Will definitely be back.

This was the cutest little place, tucked in a strip mall we would never have thought to explore otherwise. (Gotta love Columbia!) Quiet atmosphere; open sushi bar where a chef rolled and filleted away while we enjoyed dinner. We started with crispy gyoza dumplings and crunchy seaweed salad, both flavorful and fresh. They also brought a bowl of edamame that were so plump they popped out of their shells with very little coaxing. My husband ordered 4 different specialty rolls, which turned out to be way too much food for two people -- but they were expertly prepared, with lovely garnishes and impeccable presentation. My favorite was the Cherry Blossom, which came on an aqua-glazed plate: the rolls were wrapped in salmon and tuna in various shades of pink. Pickled ginger was shaped into flower buds and wasabi molded into leaves with thin cucumber-peel "stems." It was just as delicious as it was beautiful. The miso soup and green salads that accompanied our sushi were uneventful, but decent. The only roll I wouldn't recommend was covered with a crab imperial-like sauce and baked (I should have known that would be weird.) Everything else was excellent, even the next day! Sadly, the restaurant has no liquor license, but they do permit BYOB. By the time we found this out, we were already seated and had no desire to go back out, but if we return we'll be sure to pick up sake on the way.

Great Sushi! Try the dynamite roll its a baked roll with a creamy topping. Its affordable, clean with fast and friendly service.

Yum... Happy we found a place to love in kings contrivance. Salmon rolls were really fresh, eel cucumber also excellent.

We were passing through town and decided to eat here for lunch on a Saturday around 1pm. There were three other tables being waited on. The waitress was really friendly and immediately got a high chair for my 11 month old. It's a very clean restaurant with really tasty sushi. We decided to try it based on all of the great reviews and I'm so happy we did. As others have mentioned, miso soup or salad plus edamame were included. We got the soup and it was good- I'm a salt addict and the amount of miso used was nice. The edamame was just fine, it was cold where as I prefer it warmed and it could have used more salt :) We ordered four rolls- Yummy yummy, I love KC, Red monster and Little nemo. They were all VERY good but my favorites were the Yummy yummy and Red Monster. I was surprised at how much flavor everything had and didn't use much of the wasabi/soy sauce. Usually I drown my sushi in it. I knew to expect the sweet cinnamon tea at the end because of other reviews but I thought it'd be hot. It was cold and refreshing after our yummy yummy meal. Prices are fair. Overall, service was excellent and food was delicious. I'd definitely come back here if I'm in the area.

My husband and I tried this little gem for the first time a few days ago. In summary, it was easily the best sushi we've ever had. The service was great, the prices were very reasonable and the atmosphere was quiet and quaint. When you get a chance, go check this place out! Right next door to the Subway in King's Contrivance shopping center. You won't regret it :)

Small hole in the wall sushi bar with some pretty great sushi. Our waitress was pleasant and kept our drinks filled. Complimentary soup and hot tea was a definite plus, as well as the cold honey/cinnamon tea for a complimentary dessert. Sushi was affordable and great, fish tastes fresh, avocado was prime, combinations on certain rolls were interesting and delicious. Got to try black sesame mochi for the first time, they have a pretty big selection of mochi ice cream. Black sesame mochi was interesting/pretty good.

Great food and services, Mochi Ice cream was amazing!!!!! My kids loved chicken teriyaki. :)

I'm always on the lookout for good, reasonably priced sushi that i don't have to go out of my way for. Nari is close to my office in Columbia and the $10 10 piece Nigiri and Roll lunch special is a great deal and didn't disappoint. Bascially a no-brainer. Plenty of choices to mix and match. The octopus, eel and roe were fresh and delicious as was the rest of my selections of Salmon and Tuna. I will try to be a regular here.

My husband and I are still new to the area and we were searching for a sushi place and decided to try this one based on the reviews. We were so happy we did!!! Service was wonderful and the waitresses were very attentive. They are even wonderful with our 3 yr old daughter. Food was so good. We've been there a few times now and still haven't had anything we didn't love. They have a wide variety of sushi that my hubby and I are determined to try it all! We found a good sushi place and will stick to it. I would highly recommend to anyone.

This is the best sushi place I've ever been to. A list of why: - Our appetizer of Takoyaki was amazing. My girlfriend didn't like her first takoyaki experience but loved it here. - The green tea and edamame were complimentary and very good (though the gf wished it was salted) - Salad or soup are included with the sushi - The specialty rolls were delicious and reasonable priced. The regular sushi was great as well. - After the meal, they gave us complimentary cold cinnamon tea. It was incredibly refreshing! - Then we shared some green tea ice cream for dessert. Including whipped cream, colored sugar, and two chocolate Pirouettes included. All in all, an excellent evening. Highly recommended!

This place is fantastic. I ordered the spicy seafood udon bowl for $9. The amount of seafood in this dish is amazing considering it's $9. There were scallops, mussels, shrimp, tentacled things I couldn't identify -- but they weren't overcooked as tentacled creatures usually are -- and probably some other things in there, too. While I waited for my bowl, they gave me complimentary salad, miso soup, and edamame. After the meal came this chilled cinnamon broth that tastes way better than it sounds. (Of course is my repeated mentions of tentacles didn't scare you off then neither should cinnamon broth.) The only downside to this place is that the service was a little slow. It was Saturday at lunch time, and there was only 1 waiter. But I didn't really care since I had nowhere to be and was devouring the complimentary food while I waited. Parking is a breeze. Just make sure you enter the lot from the second entrance on Eden Brook (if you're coming from Guilford) so you don't have to deal with the incompetent slack-jaws over by the McDonald's and the Harris Teeter.

  • Megan F.

The service was fantastic, prices were very reasonable, clean environment. They gave me free edamame and desert of cinnamon honey which was fantastic. Only thing I have ordered and eaten there was the Pho which was terrible, tasted like wonton soup broth. I will definitely go back and try their other food.

Great neighborhood sushi spot! No alcohol, but it appears you can BYOB. Good selection of interesting rolls and high quality basics. Tonight they had a special of fresh uni, my favorite! Attentive service and decent prices. Will definitely be back soon.

So happy to have found this place!! Best sushi I've had in the area by far. Super fresh, and great service. Nice little quaint restaurant and you leave feeling beyond satisfied. The lunch special is awesome. Give this place a try!

So far I've been there twice and i thought it was amazing. Nice small spot, the chefs and waitress are really nice. Not bad priced even for their specialty rolls. I'm definitely going back

The sushi was very good. I tried this place because I was in the shopping center. Originally I went to the Chinese place in the same shopping center because it is very close by and the weather was horrible but it was super gross (that's a whole other story) I decided to try this place. The sushi was super fresh and we will definitely go back. The people were very nice. They offered me edamame and tea while I waited for my take out order. I ordered an assortment of things for about $50. There was a good selection and the salmon was creamy just like I like it. :) This is definitely on par with other good sushi places.

This place is the best if you love sushi rolls. They have a huge selection of creative rolls to choose from: 30+, not including the standard ones everybody has. I've tried many of them and I've yet to have one that isn't amazing. They include soup/salad and cinnamon tea with every order too, including the lunch special, which is really awesome. Speaking of the lunch special, it is fairly standard but is a good deal for all you get. They have non-sushi stuff too, fried rice and noodles and such, which I have tried and it is excellent. The service has always been outstanding and the waitresses are always extremely nice. It is usually quiet, although I've noticed service has been picking up a bit recently. I've tried lots of Sushi places from DC to Baltimore and this is my favorite one yet.

  • George M.

Quickly seated by a friendly employee. Was after the normal lunch period so was pretty empty and service was instantaneous. Green tea was kept full. Complimentary ginger dressing salad and edamame were brought out while we waited briefly for our order. Fairly standard (and good) rolls with a nice seaweed salad. Finishing off was the cinnamon tea (also complimentary) and it was quite wonderful. For all my sushi cravings while in Columbia I will return here. Good stuff.

Great little sushi place! The spicy scallop rolls are fantastic! I really found their specialty rolls to be inventive. Everything was fresh and decently priced. I would definitely come back here for more.

Our favorite sushi spot in Columbia! Right across the street from our house and very reasonably priced. The yummy yummy roll is our favorite! They give you complimentary edamame and cinnamon tea and the staff is so nice. Takes a while on a busy weekend evening to get your food but totally worth it. We prefer sushi Nari over any other sushi joint in Columbia now

I am a fan! :) The rolls are great and there are so many to choose from. The salads are tasty and you get edamame as soon as you sit down. No liquor license yet however I read that they do permit BYOB so that is fun, I will make sure I bring a bottle of wine or some sake next time I come to this place! :) They yummy yummy roll is definitely a favorite, very reasonable priced as well. I definitely feel they will give the regular Sono and King places a run for their money!

This is a brand new table service restaurant (opened 11/4/2011). I had a noodle bowl (#3) and it was quite filling, tasty and seemed to be very low in fat which pleased me. They gave me free soup and salad as well as Edamame. They also gave me free cinnamon cider with the check which I quite enjoyed. Most customers seem to order sushi, but I am not that adventurous. The bill was quite reasonable and the service was good. Allow at least 45 minutes for lunch.

Love nari sushi - best in Columbia. My favorite roll is the beauty & the beast, but the nari special is also damn good. Tried their nigiri and sashimi as well, it's all fresh and delicious! Staff is also very nice and accommodating, although on busy nights the one girl can get slammed with 10 tables. They don't have a liquor license but you can BYOB, they'll even heat your sake for you! protip: liquor store across the courtyard sells large sake bottles and the sake glass sets :)

  • Ethan C.

Went here for dinner and was underwhelmed, given the high ratings. The rolls were very tasty, and I have no complaints. The udon broth was disappointing--not as rich or flavorful as I expected. The tempura was done well, and the noodles were fine, but the broth makes the soup. Overall, it's a decent place, but not worth getting too excited about. The place is a bit of a hole in the wall, in a mall setting.

This is a very nice neighborhood sushi spot in one of the Columbia Village centers. the sushi itself is good to above average and the service is very friendly. I have done take out there a few times and also dined in. I would highly recommend it as an alternative to some of the busier spots in Columbia.

  • Emily W.

Worst sushi of my life! I've never in my life had fish so grainy and freezer burnt. The presentation was beautiful but that's all you pay for. I wouldn't go back if someone paid me. I literally couldn't even finish my portion. Maybe if you were a newb to sushi you'd enjoy this but, this is NOT for the sushi snobs.

  • Carl D.

I found this place as I was headed to subway next door. And I could not have been happier with my find! The sushi lunch is plentiful. The specialty rolls are delicious and creative. Everyone is very attentive and responsive. Complimentary edamame while waiting for your sushi and complimentary cinnamon tea to finish up. I've found my new sushi spot in Columbia at long last! Update: I just found out they are currently BYOB. Off to purchase sake!

Waited a half hour before our order was taken. Never mind that the waitress acknowledged the waiting menus multiple times before finally taking our order. They seems understaffed but also incredibly disorganized. It's likely she took our orders when she did because she overheard me ask my lunch companion if we should just go somewhere else since we both had to be back at the office. Miso soup was good, but the sushi was mediocre at best. If sushi could be compared to Burger King that would be this place.

So clearly my boyfriend (Eric I) enjoyed this place more than I did. He's a better wordsmith so check out his review. I will only talk about my food. Vegetable Roll - Mostly fresh ingredients. I question one of the ingredients (not the avocado) that was browning. Sweet Potato Roll (made on request) - tasty but wasn't the best I have had. I don't think I have had a roll made with white yams which were a lot less sweet. Chicken Teriyaki - came with a side of rice. Thin layers of chicken in typical sauce. But, the chicken was chewy. BYOB is a plus. Service was good. I would go again and stick to sushi. To bad I don't eat seafood otherwise I might have ranked it as high as my BF. But, it was ok...

  • Normeni T.

Very great sushi spot! Small, quaint , cozy with BANGIN ! sushi. Vast array of selection, sushi fresh, and not to expansive. The Koolest part about this spot is that ITS BYOB! -When I went for the first time, my girl and I brought a bottle of sake, and Wine GOT TURNT UP and Ate great sushi......NOW thats a good time ;p and another good thing about the spot, is that its in village center, so parking is amply and they have liquer store, bank and anything else you may need close by.

Awesome food! My boyfriend and I went here after a disaster sushi dining somewhere else, and we were completely happy with the good food, the good presentation, and good service. The place is tiny but it has a warm, comforting atmosphere. They also give you green beans, soup/salad, and cinnamon ginger tea complementary! I'd go again!

Overall: Hidden gem that emphasizes simplicity in favor of good sushi. Location: this little sushi spot is tucked in a small plaza on the backside of a grocery store. It feels kind of remote but also makes it a total hidden gem. Restaurant: the actual restuarant is small and sparse on decor for no real ambiance. The place is well lit and you'll enjoy the background music that is an odd mix of teeny bopper hits (heavy on the Taylor Swift) and old soul songs. I found myself chair dancing just a little bit. It is a whimsical mix that lightens the mood. The layout is pretty open and lends itself to both intimate conversations as well as putting tables together for larger groups. We definitely couldn't hear the conversation of other patrons. Service: very prompt and attentive. The location and size mean this place is likely rarely to be crowded, so personal attention is pretty easy. The staff was accommodating to our special requests for drinks and offered to make sushi dishes that were not on the menu. The food came very quickly but didn't seem rushed. Food: the sushi was delicious with good presentation and generous portions. The rolls were secure but could've been a bit more sturdy. I definitely recommend the Pink Lady...not so much for the Little Nemo. We enjoyed a sweet potato roll that was made to order but the vegetable roll was meh. The best of the rolls were flavorful with good consistency- soft but not chewy. The selection of rolls was overall a bit redundant and without flair but that seems pretty consistent with the theme of the restaurant. Note: this is a BOYB establishment...which can be good or bad depending on your preference. Keep in mind that the beverage offering is limited...so plan your spirits and chaser expectations accordingly. Overall this is an unexpectedly solid sushi option for the location. You will not be disappointed.

Omg the squid salad is sooooo damn good!!!! Crave that all day err day. Yummy! Eating in house is better, miso soup and salad are on the house per person.

Nice place. Had the spicy seafood udon soup. Hit the spot. My wife had the spider and dragon rolls. The spider roll was pretty awesome. Probably the preferable go to sushi spot for me in Columbia. They will have their liquor license on October 1st so I do not know if they will allow byob anymore. But for now their is a beer, liquor, and wine shop only about forty yards away.

Living in Cali for more than 11 years has spoiled me when it comes to sushi. I will say I'm surprised at some of the negative reviews that I've read for this place. I would say the sushi here is definitely one of the better spots to go in Maryland. Me and my wife have tried about 8-10 different sushi spots in MD and only one other we still actually regularly go too. We have been here at least 20 times and have never had bad service or food. I would say the Red Monster roll and the Yummy Yummy are two of the best they have here. Time to make another trip here!!

So so so good! I thought Tachibana in McLean was great but Sushi Nari is definitely up there when it comes to the sushi business. The rolls are creative, fish are fresh, and the presentation is impeccable. The price is also not bad! The Korean family running this place is so nice and our Korean waiter (older woman) was so pleasant and friendly. I highly recommend the chicken poppers (?) appetizer!

I've been in the mood for sushi for a while and I always love to try new places. In noticing a friend who posted a pic and an awesome deal my mouth began to salivate. I. Must. Try. NOW! Enter thee broham and off to lunch we go. Located in the Kings Contrivance Shopping Center, it is on the opposite side of the Harris Teeter, right in between the M&T Bank and the BoA. It is open for lunch, closes at around 2:30p and opens again for dinner. Quaint restaurant with about ten or so tables. On this date, there were about two additional parties, one server, and one sushi chef. Here is where I win. The lunch special is awesome. For ten bucks you get a soup, salad, ten pieces of sushi and one roll. Now what now? Of course, there are pre-selected rolls and pieces of sushi, but it is an awesome value nonetheless. The roll that I chose is easily ten bucks alone. I selected several pieces of sushi; from tuna, salmon, to white tuna, octopus....and of course a rainbow roll. After placing the order the server brought out the miso soup and the salad, in addition to FREE edamame. The miso soup was alright, the salad, wasn't my fave, but honestly it never really is. I'm really picky regarding the ginger dressing. This dressing, IMHO is slightly thicker than I prefer. Now, this was my first taste of edamame, with nothing to compare it to, it was quite delicious. Fair amount of salt, but it took some effort getting the beans out. Here comes the main course! #nommers! I must say, the sushi was fresh and quite delicious! I was less than thrilled with the seaweed salad, as I thought I was going to get a seaweed salad, rather than a seaweed salad roll (oops). The crab stick was less to be desired a well. The others though, tuna, white tuna, octopus, salmon, and shrimp were awesome. The rainbow roll, just how I like it! YES! Broham and I were in a trying mood, so next we ordered the mochi ice cream, this is ice cream with a sweet rice cake coating. The order came with six halved pieces, we tried mango and vanilla. The ice cream itself was yummy, I didn't care for the rice cake coating. I think it was mostly textural for me, somewhat gelatinous even. To complete our order, cinnamon tea to cleanse the palate; complimentary of course. Service was good and the food was great, I will return!

I found this little hidden gem with the help of my GPS and the friendly security guy in from of the bank. Tiny, like eight beat up tables, and bare. The only decorations are the traditional red paper lantern that marks a sushi purveyor and some menu updates (photo) hot off the computer. When I see a place like this I lick my chops, because I know they're all about the food. The $10 lunch special is a slam dunk. Choose 10 nigiri and one roll from a limited list, + salad + soup + edamame. Edamame - firm and lightly salted Salad - pedestrian Miso Soup - workmanlike Tuna - nom White Tuna - nom Snapper - nom Octopus - nom Salmon - nom Flying fish roe - nom. Salmon skin roll - nom. Nicely crisp and just enough meat. Green tea - medium bodied Fish cuts medium sized, bigger than buffets but smaller than most ala carte. Food about 4.5 stars, rounding up for friendly helpful service and extreme value. This place definitely goes in the rotation. BYOB for alcohol as others have noted. I checked out King's Liquor down near the Harris Teeter, and found Asahi and Sapporo beer in the cooler (22oz cans) and several brands of sake on the shelf.

Just got back into the "I want sushi" mood, so I turned to my trusty Yelp app to deliver a great recommendation. This place has above average ratings, so yes my expectations were high walking in! But after eating here, I'm confused as to WHY and HOW this place averages over 4 stars?! And that's not good. They must have had the kid sushi chef making my rolls... the spider roll did not stay together as I was eating it, and the roll was way too wide. It was difficult to eat the pieces in one bite! Also, the rice was way too sticky, and a few peices of my spicy tuna rolls were patchy... literally missing rice in a few spots. Also, I waited 30 minutes for my sushi, which was absolutely way too long when your restaurant had a total of 3 patrons. Price wise, the sushi was definitely not worth the $16 or $17 bucks that I paid. I will NOT return nor will I recommend this restaurant.

Great sushi and service! My fiancé and I are regulars here. Food is fresh and they provide extras before and after your entrée.

The worst service I have ever experienced! Ever. We were asked to sit at the bar, (there was however 2 tables that could accommodate us) but my group of 6 had no problem with it. We were there for something to eat and then out. It took 15 minutes for someone to greet us. Another 10 minutes to bring drinks. And 45 minutes after that to get our food! ITS SUSHI!! At which time we asked for our checks! Which took another 25 minutes. It was awful. I had been to this establishment a time before and knew their service was not the greatest, but today was the absolute worst. Especially if you are gonna have me sit at the bar! Isn't that a supposed to be a perk, even faster service! Not the slowest service ever. I believe the only reason why they are still open is because of location. I do not recommend this place! Ever. And we never received our "complimentary" tea. On a good note, the sushi itself was delish!

I'm just as in love with this place as I am with my boyfriend, whom I went to Sushi Nari with to celebrate our 1 year anniversary! :D Everything was great. I loved the intimate, small-ish size of the restaurant. It was small like a old schoolish diner but not cluttered like some usually are. Quaint and nice and also still full of culture and colorful. As much as I loved it's look, I also thought the service was as equally pleasant. Very attentive waitresses. Genuine smiles and one particular waitress even chatted with us at our table at the end of our meal :) I am a big sushi fan and I wasn't disappointed by their selection and was impressed with the house specials. My boyfriend had never had sushi, but he left very satisfied and happy he tried it! Sushi Nari is the bestest! :D

I've had sushi from here twice and each time it's been delicious! The veggie gyoza are yummy too! My only comment would be that there are not a lot of vegetarian items on the menu in either the sushi or entree categories. I also got carry out one night and asked for soup with my sushi (I had asked during my previous experience dining in if soup came with the roll and was told you had a choice between soup or salad), but I realized that I was charged extra.

Myself and the Mrs made a visit to Nari due to the great reviews of the sushi here on Yelp. The restaurant was somewhat small, but was noticeably new and well decorated. At the time of our visit (late evening) there were two sushi chefs behind the sushi bar and one waitress. That said, depending on the size of your party.....it could take a lil time to get your order. The actual food .....was excellent. We only ordered one roll (the Nari), but it was very fresh, superbly decorated and taste great. Now for the reason we only ordered one roll and got out of there.........NO ALCOHOL!!!! As great as the single roll was, we generally enjoy an evening of sushi accompanied by a frosty Sapporo and maybe some saki. I will say that they do allow guests to BYOB, but I'm not sure on the specifics of that policy (may want to call ahead.) I would recommend Sushi Nari for its great sushi, but save it for lunch or take out if you are looking for a place for a lil sushi and a drink.

Probably one of the best sushi places to eat in the area and easily the best place to eat in the Kings Contrivance shopping center. The prices and reasonable, the fish is fresh, and the menu is amazing. I usually order some carry-out from here at least twice a week. For those choosing to dine-in, be mindful that they do not serve alcohol. However, you can bring your own to share (there is a liquor store in the same shopping area.) I don't think I've had a single disappointing thing here. They have standard roll options, but their specialty rolls are amazing. You gotta try the Beauty and the Beast roll. It is delicious.

Great fresh sushi in an unexpected place. I went to lunch with a friend who knew the place. They offered a salad or miso soup with our sushi. It was really nice! The sashimi was delicious and the rolls were also very good. Staff was very friendly and I look forward to returning!

  • Kecia G.

This place is absolutely awesome. They even allow you to bring your own alcohol. They are great about giving you free things to go along with your meal and they're very attentive. I haven't had a roll I didn't like and you can't beat the price.

  • Laura M.

Good sushi, although a little high in price. I think that the quality and freshness of the fish was okay but a bit underwhelming. The accessories in the rolls definitely overshadowed the fish. Was a little disappointed by the amount of vegetable tempura in the appetizer (as well as the lack of taste to the vegetables). Get: Spicy Tuna Roll and Dynamite Roll with Scallops; Skip: Seaweed Salad and Vegetable Tempura

Delicious sushi and even better service. I hope this place stays as its in my neighborhood. You get free edamame and cinnamon tea with your meals. Average sushi prices, no complaints.

A very nice, clean and quiet small restaurant. The foods are pretty delicious and the waitress is very polite. She speaks english, korean and chinese. We like it very much!!!

Great overall experience. Visiting my mom and she took me here because her and her husband frequent the place. Tempura was excellent. Salad dressing was very watery. Yaki Soba was delicious. Ordered 5 rolls. Red monster, the Nari Special, Cherry Blossom, Seven Color Rainbow, and Tiger Maki.. All of which were absolutely wonderful. The Red Monster roll is spicy and to die for. I would recommend Sushi Nari to any sushi lover.. Quiet, quaint and wonderful..

I went here for lunch a little over a week ago, and the sushi was pretty standard. I had the spicy tuna, spicy California roll, tomago, and salmon sushi. First, it took forever to get service - this meal took like twenty minutes too long. They were super friendly, just understaffed on the wait service front. Then they brought out the salad and soup. The dressing was awful, very watery, even for ginger dressing. The soup had one little piece of tofu in it, sad little guy there by himself. Then the sushi, again, took way to long to be made - while I was waiting one person had to cancel an order because she had been waiting an hour! Ouch! The sushi was only OK to my. I've had better. If you go, I think you'll probably like it. It won't bowl you over, but it won't make you ill either. Just have plenty of time to wait.

We tried it lunch last week and the staff (Korean) welcomed us happily. She's approachable and friendly. The food was delicious. The amount I paid was pricey. They have lunch special which is worth $10. They also have some Korean food like Bulgoki which is a 'Chef's specialty'.

A little puzzled by the effusion of 5 star reviews; perhaps this is the best this area has to offer. My impressions: a) great atmosphere b) inconsistent service (e.g. food ordered not delivered, table left untended after each course) c) rolls and chirashi were good d) tasted korean or other pan-Asian influenced, which by no means is necessarily detrimental, however in this case confused some of the Japanese flavor profiles e) ramen was utterly flavorless, noodles mushy, and the seafood ingredients overcooked to rubber It's okay, but food nerds won't be impressed. Ethnic food in the region can be outstanding for this price point. Maybe a bad day, maybe hoping for too much for a Japanese haunt in Maryland, dunno. If you've had Japanese in DC or NYC or San Francisco, etc, this is just okay.

I was a little skeptical when I walked in this quaint little sushi place. But like the old saying goes don't judge a book by it's cover, this was the case here. The sushi was delicious and fresh. Also the service was great. You get complimentary edamame and a little sweet tea drink at the end of the meal. They don't serve alcohol but you can bring your own wine. :) I'll definitely be coming back to Sushi Nari to try more of their rolls.

Nice, small restaurant in the kings contrivance village center. Really good and unique sushi with plenty of other options to choose from if you aren't into sushi. Every order comes with a soup or salad and edamame and a cold cinnamon tea. Nice staff who are happy to help with decision making. Only wish it was open on Sundays...

The sushi lunch combo for $10 is fantastic. Comes with miso soup or salad. Complimentary edemame. I would make this a regular lunch stop if I lived nearby. Interested in trying more menu items in future.

Quick easy place to get sushi lunch, fish always fresh and rolls packed tight. The $10 special is a pretty good deal but be aware that slices are pretty thin.

as the rolls themselves were exciting the fish was obviously and severely frozen. I could barely manage to eat any of the fish. thank goodness I ordered fried rolls. the ambiance and service were wonderful. if they had fresh fish I would definitely go back but, no one could pay me to eat that fish again!

I've been here several times and I have always had a good experience. They serve complimentary edamame, soup and salad with your order. I get the crab dynamite roll every time along with trying other different rolls. At the end, they bring out cold cinnamon tea. It's very sweet.

Best sushi deals in town!!!!! After being disappointed in Sushi Sono, Sushi King and Tokyo cafe closed ... I was so happy to see that they opened a sushi restaurant so close to my home I could walk there!!! The lunch special is wonderful. $10.00 for soup, salad, 10 pieces of nigiri sushi and one roll. What a steal!! I was in heaven. The sushi was fresh and fast. The staff was so friendly and pleasant. I will continue to eat there and I hope to return next week to get lunch there again!!! What a treasure in Kings Contrivance Village Center. :)

Good stuff.

  • Timmortal D.

  • Nicki D.

This is a very nice neighborhood sushi spot in one of the Columbia Village centers. the sushi itself is good to above average and the service is very friendly. I have done take out there a few times and also dined in. I would highly recommend it as an alternative to some of the busier spots in Columbia.

This place is absolutely awesome. They even allow you to bring your own alcohol. They are great about giving you free things to go along with your meal and they're very attentive. I haven't had a roll I didn't like and you can't beat the price.

Interested in trying more menu items in future.

as the rolls themselves were exciting the fish was obviously and severely frozen.

This is a very nice neighborhood sushi spot in one of the Columbia Village centers. the sushi itself is good to above average and the service is very friendly. I have done take out there a few times and also dined in. I would highly recommend it as an alternative to some of the busier spots in Columbia.

Interested in trying more menu items in future.

as the rolls themselves were exciting the fish was obviously and severely frozen.

Good stuff.
