This place has been across the street from my office as long as I've been here and I love it. The staff is always super-friendly and fast and I love the small business-family owned feeling it has. My favorite item on the menu hands-down is the Greek salad. It's a HUGE salad loaded with feta, green peppers, black olives, red onion, and tomatoes. The greek dressing is really light and refreshing. It's well worth the ticket price of over $7 out the door. I've also tried the New York Reuben which was delicious but I felt slightly overpriced for the amount. I would definitely recommend this place as a lunch-time destination!

Quaint little place off the beaten path. I came here on a Thursday afternoon after having some work done on my car, and found the place on Yelp because I'm not near home! Upon walking in, I was greeted by a young gentleman who was very nice and welcoming. He asked if it was my first time in. I ordered a speciality sandwich: chicken sandwich with melted Swiss and bacon. The sandwich was good. The kaiser roll was fresh, the chicken salad wasn't runny or watery but wasn't too flavorful. However, the bacon was microwaved and thin. For the price, I'd expect some thick sliced stuff. I could barely taste it on the sandwich. I got the bagged deep river chips and a drink along with it. Everything came to about 12 bucks, which is kind of pricy for an okay sandwich and chips and a drink. The cashier line reminds me of getting lunch at school back in the day. The cashier lady was very friendly and nice, told me to relax and enjoy. Overall, an okay sandwich and welcoming atmosphere, but nothing too special for the price. Not sure I'll be back.

Ok, but I'm not sure how they maintain the 4.5 star rating. There was nothing memorable about my sandwich here.

This was my first adventure to joes place as I am not typically in this area. My sandwich was yummy, felt healthy and was on very fresh tasting bread. The staff was also friendly and service was fast. Would recommend if you are looking for a quick lunch but don't dig subway!

I've been frequenting Joe's since he first opened in Columbia,. I have never had a bad meal. The sandwich's are big and filling and my favorite, the Chicken Bacon Melt is a consistent as a McDonald's QP'er. ie. Always good! Please go, you wont be disappointed.

Love this place! I don't work in the area, I live here, so If I have day off during the week, I'm here for lunch! I've gotten almost every sandwich on the menu and none disappoint. Their soups are killer and the monthly specials are creative and delicious! I would love if Joe's was also a cafe with some good coffee and more couches. Everyone that works here is super friendly!

If I get to come here, it's a great week. I love seeing what the monthly special will be! Their soups are always on the mark and the variety is awesome. They could invest in more artisan breads, but I still always enjoy their sandwiches, and the owners are the nicest people. Everyone should skip the chains and come out and have real food for lunch.

There was only 1 con from this place and that is, don't get their Columbian Sandwich. It was probably the most generic sandwich I've ever had. It was literally just ham, turkey, veggies and mayo on some plain sub roll. It tasted like a regular ham sandwich you'd make at your house. That 1 con aside, this place is fantastic. I also ordered their NY Reuben and Joes Hot Pastrami. The place was packed. About half of the tables were occupied but there was a long line in front of me and behind me. People were standing outside the door but fortunately they churned out the food pretty quickly. When I ordered my food, I didn't know what was good there so I said that this was my first time coming and what they should recommend. I believe the owner? heard me and gave me some free cookies yay! The NY Reuben tasted delicious. I'm not always in the mood for having the classic Reuben so having this kind with the coleslaw, it was refreshing. The Hot Pastrami was even better. The meat was like butter and tasted great, then had the melted cheese bring everything together. Service was very friendly and the owner was even friendlier. The food is mostly fantastic so if you're nearby, try this place out!

I've been going to Joe's for aout 3 years now, and it's my favorite local sandwich shop. I've read the other Yelp reviews and sure enough everyone mentions how friendly Joe and his wife and staff are, and that's true for sure. I take business visitors there for lunch regularly and we've had carry out for our office also. Joe's is a really good lunch shop that is cozy, yet roomy too. Service is always speedy ordering at the counter and taking your own food to your table a minute or three later. Don't go here expecting the worlds greatest sandwich ever, but do go here expecting much better than average sandwiches with a few originals at fair prices. They do close relatively early, so remember to get there well before mid day closing.

Love this place for a good sandwich. Nothing beats the pretzel roll. Delicious!! Everyone there is always friendly and the service is quick.

I am very picky about Reuben's. This one was fabulous. Glad I found this place. I'll be stopping in for lunch again, next time I'm in the area.

When I pulled up to Joe's Place, I know I hit the jack box. I had a great feeling about this place and they did not disappoint me. I went in and a young man asked me what I would like. He was so nice. I order the greek salad. He made it fresh. They had a salad bar there and if you didn't want something, you could just say so. Once I paid, I sat down and ate. I loved my salad. I mean....just yummy to my soul!!!! I will definitely be visiting again.

My new favorite lunch spot. Just went for the first time and got a Big BLT. It was fantastic. I'll be going back tomorrow to try something else. The staff there are great. They seemed to sense that it was my first time and kindly pointed me in the direction of the menu. After I made my choise my order was ready in just a couple minutes. Quick and Delicious!

Hidden gem of Columbia! The beat lunch experience I have ever had in the city! The place is hard to find but worth the look. The friendly t home atmosphere invites you in. The staff greet you with smiles and the food... Its so rare to find a place that isn't a chain, or tries to be, and puts a great tasting (just like mom used to make) meal on your plate.

I found this deli on Yelp since it's pretty hidden in a back office park off Minstrel Way. pros: family-owned, friendly service, big menu, sizeable portions (wraps/sandwiches), and awesome sides (ive tried both the potato salad and mac and cheese). healthy options for ppl who are watching what they eat. also, on your first visit there, you get a free cookie (i recommend the white chocolate/cranberry one). cons: a little on the pricy side for one of their special sandwiches. my husband had the october road, which is a ham and melted cheese sandwich on a pretzel roll (super yummy), but it was nine dollars.

Had the sub of the month (a buffalo chicken on ciabatta). Excellent, sandwich meat, very fluffy ciabatta. Tons of options on the menu. A bit pricey, as it doesn't come with chips or a drink.

Just tried Joe's Place for the very first time. I had seen signs when going to other places for lunch (fast food). I decided today to give it a try. I am so glad I did. When I first walked in, I must have had a very lost look on my face. Immediately, a nice employee came over and pointed me to the menu. Soon after, another man, who seemed to be the manager or owner, came over and offered some suggestions on what was good. I was trying to have something healthy so I settled on the Powerhouse sandwich. It was delicious and full of fresh veggies (although, the iceburg lettuce was a little disappointing). I then moved to the checkout where another very pleasant lady assisted me. I was given a great rundown of the features of the store and a free cookie since it was my first time there! I will definitely be returning to try something new there.

A really nice family deli. Good fresh-made sandwiches and soups for lunch every day. Joe and his employees are friendly and get you through as fast as they can for "personally" made lunches. It's a bit hard to find, but worth the adventure.

Hidden away in an office park in typical Columbia fashion, I wish I had known about Joe's a long time ago. This is a really casual deli, but the food is good and fresh. There are daily soup specials, and their hot pastrami sandwich is very good. They actually use one of those steamers to cook the pastrami as opposed to the microwave that I've seen other "delis" use. It's no New York-style deli, but it's good, and I'll be back next time I want a deli-style sandwich. The people who work there are very friendly, which is always a good thing!
