My parents got me hooked on Bobby Evans as the prefer to call it a long time ago. They have a lot of my favorites on the menu like Grits and their sausage :). They are a chain and like any other chain there standards are pretty much the same at all locations. I like them as my go to breakfast place. I like the fact that you can get what ever is on the menu at any time of the day. This location is clean and the staff are friendly. Sorry I don't have much more to say beyond that. It wasn't bad and the prices are just right. So for cheap fast sit down breakfast it does the job.

Pluses: its clean and service is relatively quick. Negatives: the food just isn't as flavorful as I've had at other Bob Evans. Also, the place is somewhat of a mausoleum. Finally, the hostess was quiet yo the point of hostility. I just cannot justify a third star.

My friend , husband and I went here for brunch one day and the overall experience wasn't bad but I wasn't too impressed with my food. My friend and I both had burgers and weren't happy with the actual beef meat, it tasted like it had come out of the freezer. My husband had eggs, hash browns and pancakes and seemed quite happy with his meal. I guess the key would have been to have breakfast and not lunch. There was a short wait when we arrived but overall for as busy as it was our service was decent.

This place is your standard, fairly busy, Bob Evans. The three star rating is solely based on the server you get. Might be a 4 or 5, could be a 1 or 2, I have all servers there. Talked to managmenet and they seem eager to make things better, I'll update the review as the situation dictates.

Service was good food was hot and fresh kids and pancakes with hash browns. The hash browns was a very small portion. They also offer healthier choices such as a whole grain pancakes and sugar free syrup. Restaurant was clean seating happens fast with not much of a wait. Over all I had an ok experience.

Slow cooked pork dinner with broccoli, two cokes, and two rolls for under 10 bucks. Well worth it plus friendly service. Not gourmet by any means.

I have had a lot of bad customer service experiences here. From horrible waitresses to simply being understaffed....never any problems with the food. I like their pancakes and bean soup the best! Just beware, you could be sitting waiting for your food or check for quite some time.

It was just okay. Our waitress was very sweet and the food was okay, but not anything special. My soda was a bit flat, and fries were cold, but sandwiches was okay.

My rating is based on our overall experiences here in the past. On our last visit, we did not have utensils on our table at the time our food was presented so I asked for some. The waitress left and proceeded to clear two tables before even moving towards the area of where they keep the utensils. I had to meet her halfway to get them in an effort to begin eating before our breakfast turned cold.

I was not very impressed with bob Evans. my waiter, Alexis, sounded very annoyed and messed up my order 3 times. the food was cooked very uneven, with spots being hot and others tasting like ice. food did not seem fresh at all would not recommend

Do not carry out unless you want to wait at the counter for 10 minutes before anyone acknowledges you. 3 managers who are incompetent of providing good customer service just stand at the front arguing who should take what shift.

  • Michael S.

We waited a little less than half an hour before finally being seated, and that was after reminding the lady in charge of seating that people were being sat ahead of us. The, it was another 10 minutes before we flagged a waiter to our table. To be fair though, from what I heard there was a staffing issue-- the language was very vague, but I think the manager or cook was missing. So it's entirely possible that you won't have this problem. However, it doesn't reflect well on the staff's integrity.

The Breakfast here is almost always good. The service, however, is very hit or miss. The biscuits, home fries, and turkey sausage are worth it, though.

If you want a traditional breakfast in Columbia this is the only place I know of. I don't want frills. I want bacon and eggs, sausage, and biscuits and gravy. Bob Evans gives you that. Nothing fancy, but in a place like Columbia it's a welcome change. You can feel like you're in a backwoods small town without leaving the metropolis.

Pleasantly surprised. I'm pretty picky about breakfast & not usually a fan of chain restaurants, but sometimes a pregnant girl has gotta eat! My husband was shocked when I told him to drive to Bob Evans, but it was a weekend morning and I didn't feel like driving to Double T or Linthicum Luncheteria and couldn't handle a wait at Eggspectations. It looked very busy, but tables were being turned around quickly and we only waited a few minutes at the hostess station before being seated. Our waiter was friendly and service was quick. While the food didn't blow me away, everything was cooked as it should've been and tasted good. The only thing we weren't crazy about were the hashbrowns and they were just boring, but not awful. I would definitely go back for a fast, cheap breakfast.

Hmmm what can it tell you about this place? Their food looks average, but it's actually pretty good. Everything always tastes fresh. Their hash browns are to die for !

Well, it's Bob Evans. What can I say? As restaurants of this type go, Bob Evans is probably middle of the pack. Among Bob Evans Restaurants, this location is the middle of the pack. The food is exactly what you would expect for the chain. However, the service is spotty. I have had some very nice an attentive wait staff, but other times, they seem to disappear for long periods of time. I need to find a better early Sunday morning breakfast spot in Columbia. But until then, Bob Evans will suffice.

Food is good and great alternative if you don't feel like making breakfast. They always email "buy one get one free" coupons and I think kids eat free during the week. I mostly come for breakfast and get a pretty heart meal with drink for $10!

Three words Biscuits Biscuits Biscuits! You gotta try the biscuits. The service was friendly. Here is the thing, we went two days in a row, the first day was excellent everything was on the money. But day 2 we had to send back the cold, over cooked eggs and it took way to long for a glass of apple juice. It just seemed a bit inconsistent. Only reason I would go back is for the biscuits they are that good. They saved the meal on day 2.

Whenever I go to this Bob Evans I always ask for this one waiter that has been there forever he is really good.. I never have an issue with him. I am not giving this place more stars because of most of the server staff is not good. Either forget stuff or take forever to come back with refills. I once asked a manager for more butter, and I had go up and ask someone else for more butter myself after my meal was getting cold. I had servers forget my salad then bring it the same time as the meal. Or they go MIA for most of the meal. Last time I was there the waitress was complaining about having 3 tables.

3 1/2 stars. Food was exactly what would be expected from Bob Evans. The spinach biscuit bowl was yummy, but required extra hollandaise sauce to keep it moist. Our server took our order and we never saw her again until she brought the check. A different person brought our food and refilled our drinks. Weird, but whatever. Again, it's a Bob Evans.

service a little slow, food good, and family friendly. Will continue to come here.

Always pleasant and reliable. Consistent food and service, not overly crowded at lunchtime. If you don't see a favorite item from the menu, ask about it. The waitress told me that the menu has gotten so big that they don't print everything on it anymore. She was able to place an order for one of my old favorites.

I love Bob Evan pancakes, but this Bob Evan sucks, it took extremely long for an order of pancakes and some eggs. All the waitress and waiters suck, except for Ms. Angel, a young lady doing everything, serving and busting tables and even cleaning tables. Even the cooks suck. I give all props to Angel for providing the beat customer service possible.

It is Bob Evans afterall. I go pretty often because I'm a huge breakfast foods person, and their banana bread is bomb. (And I'm usually in late, around 7-8pm) The only thing that sucks about this place? The service. Oh its so awful. When you walk in it takes a moment for someone to notice you standing there, then they seat you. And instead of asking you about drinks then, they walk off and you wait. Waiting seems to be the theme around this place. We've been 3 times now, each time with a different waitress, and none of them cared to write our order down. Two of these times, our order was obviously screwed up. My bread was forgotton several times, and when I finally did get it, it was cold. (Supposed to be warmed) - I frequently went without beverage, as they don't like to check on you that often. My coffee was also forgotten about when I ordered that too. Lets just say you're definitely not going for the fantastic service with a smile, but again, it is Bob Evans afterall, how much can we expect?

It was friendly it was fast, it was Bob Evans. The food I got was good, it was hot and happy. The service we received was good, friendly and fast. I think it was a weekend when we went.. yup, met my aunt and uncle there for lunch. The only issue I see is the location. It's tucked away and difficult to find. And if you don't like greasy, there is a light fare menu.

Elmer was our waiter for breakfast this morning and went out of his way to make our visit very enjoyable. He is friendly, has a great personality, and made sure our order was as we desired! I hope if we get to visit here again we are privileged to have Elmer as our waiter again. Food was good and prepared as ordered. Thanks Elmer!

Went today. It looked okay from the outside, which is where we should have stayed. The service was uncaring, the order was not delivered as ordered, and the food came out in odd phases. My wife got her hash browns 15 minutes after her room temperature scrambled eggs. And she ordered home fries in the first place. I got served refills on the water begrudgingly and only after it was empty for awhile. I ordered the potatoes extra crispy for myself, and they were barely cooked at all. When it was time to pay, it took 10 minutes because the teenager running the register was just plain slow. There were only 3 people in front of me! This was awful. Don't go to this one!

If I could give this place zero stars, I would! I go to Bob Evans because it's family friendly and the quick food. Visited BE for dinner with my two kids and hubby on a Saturday evening. These were the highlights: 1) Waited 15 mins without being greeted by our server. Hubby finally had to go ask the hostess for assistance. Hostess actually ended up taking our food and drink order. 2) Still no sign of our waitress. We see a table nearby walk out. The table next to us are complaining about the quality service they are receiving. 3) 40 minutes after our arrival, server finally shows up with our food. Actually, she drops it off and walks away without one word. 4) Hubby's food doesn't show up until 5 minutes later. Again, server simply drops off the food. No words. 5) Server finally stops and asks us if we need anything. She makes small talk and awkwardly talks to my 4 year old; perhaps in an attempt to salvage a tip? 6) I quickly ask for my receipt before she mysteriously disappears again. I check the receipt while waiting at the register and realize, I was given the wrong receipt. Conclusion: The service is horrendous! Kitchen was a mess. To take 40 minutes to make a kid's grilled cheese sandwich is beyond me! We won't be going to this location again anytime soon!

My husband & I visit this restaurant 2x/month at least. We like the personable staff & the variety on the menu. We highly recommend Melanie Jackson, Evan ? & Dominick Jackson as servers. You just can't get any friendly or helpful. Food is hot & tasty. I recommend the cranberry pecan chicken salad. Whew!

How many mistakes can a server make before they earn a zero tip? Four. The correct answer is four. When I had to go up to the counter to get my wife's beverage refilled after waiting an inexcusable time, I was done. Service = sucks. Yes, the restaurant was busy, it was a Saturday morning. Is busy a legitimate excuse for poor service? I say no. As for the food, it was fine. Of course my wife ordered home fries and received hash browns, so had to fix that screw up, but I have no issues with the food itself. I will have to forget about today's experience before returning to Bob Evans of Columbia MD.

I am not a fan of chain restaurants but sometimes i just find myself at one. Usually at someone elses request but sometimes because it is just too darn convenient and I am in a hurry. Lose a star for allowing employees to sit on front benches to smoke. Very uninviting to arriving customers. Looks bad. Smells bad. Lose another star for no set ups on table and had to ask for cream for coffee (twice) and a spoon to stir it. Keep a star for very friendly and helpful service (when asked). Servers are undertrained but they are enthusiastic and fulfilled most requests even when we were not in their section. Oops. Lose another star for forgotten bisquets. Keep a star for quick delivery of food that was hot and fresh tasting. Food is a hair above average for a national chain (but miles better than Dennys - bleh!). Oops. Lose another star for not bringing second requested cream and for taking our spoons so we could not stir after we swiped cream from another table. The problem here is service. Maybe from lack of training. Everyone seemed to want to serve, they just did not do it well.

I had breakfast here this morning with my daughter and her friend. I have not been here in years. The food was bland. How can anyone mess up a pancake? It should be light and fluffy but mine was thick and nasty. The fried eggs were tasteless. Why does this place exist. The worst breakfast ever. I should have gone to Chick Fila across the street. The best thing was my waiter Dominique. A huge disappointment and a waste of money. My daughter did not like her bacon. A hot mess for breakfast. Keep your money and avoid this disaster of a food establishment.

It's Bob Evans. Good variety of food, great prices for the area and we were seated (3 of us) quickly on a busy Sunday morning (less than 10m when told 10-15). Our server, Marisol, was great. Orders 100% correct, very nice and despite the crowd, both food and drink were prompt. Food was hot. We will be returning. 4/5 because it's still Bob Evans but we had a good experience.

What is it about friendly service? Finally, a place where you walk in and don't feel like you're inconveniencing the host to seat you/serve you (in my case for carryout). I had a very nice experience here and having had several poor experiences at other restaurants lately, I figured I better mention it. In any case, this place is CHEAP and has lots of lovely breakfast/lunch choices. I had a chicken pot pie - yum.. so rich and some blueberry stuffed crepes - also good - filled with cream cheese and covered with blueberry topping that actually has real blueberries in it. The pot pie came with a side - opted for corn - but don't recommend - too salty. Also had two biscuits as well. The server was kind enough to ask whether I wanted butter and jam (and even what flavor jam). How nice! Definitely recommended for cheap breakfast or lunch!
