In my opinion, this place is better than Chipotle when it comes to the big ole burritos. Yeah I felt like this location has gone down a bit on quality. But their burritos are always fresh and tasty! The reason why I like their burritos more than I like Chipotle's is because their burritos have more meat, veggies, and less rice than Chipotle's. Chipotle's burritos consists of 40% rice, 20% meat, 20% beans, and 20% other. Not entirely, like that, I may be exaggerating a bit, but you know what I mean! With Baja Fresh and their freshly made salsas, it makes the food better! Every time I go here, I always get the Diablo or Baja Burrito with steak or chicken. I was never disappointed with the quality of their food. I was always happy and full. Yeah, their chips weren't great... Already made sitting on the table, waiting to be delivered and eaten... But with the salsa, you should be fine! :) Service is alright. I mean, what you expect from service? And what you expect from the ambiance? This place's purpose is to serve you good food, and thats exactly what they're doing! Reading reviews from other people about this place, I guess its a hit or miss? I've never had a problem with this place.

One of my favorite places to get lunch or an early dinner. The only item I've gotten off the menu is the cheese quesadilla, but it's amazing! Comes with a side of chips, and they have a salsa bar with a variety of choices. The medium black salsa is my favorite. Never more than a 5 to 10 minute wait for food, the staff is friendly, and they have both indoor and outdoor seating.

Pretty good, for a chain. Why they have an "American style" taco, is beyond me. Mexican food should stay Mexican. But- their food is good and it's always good for a quick bite, especially when I get a craving for some tacos :)

I have never been a big Baja Fresh Fan...(except for their salsa bar). I think Chipotle is better and more fresh/healthy food. I stay away from this particular location. I've had 2 of my friends (incl. myself) have had health issues after eating here. It happened twice (last year) and hence had to yelp about it. Maybe we went during closing time and food wasn't quite fresh but anyways something to keep in mind before choosing this location.

It's good, but I still prefer Chipotle across the street. It's nice to get chips and the different salsas, but I just don't think it competes flavor-wise.

Fresh ingredients, simple mexican food. I love their salsa bar!!!!

I've been coming here since I was a kid and have usually been pleased. The staff is nice, the managers are very personable, the dining room and restrooms are kept relatively clean and the food hasn't disappointed me until yesterday. I came to get my usual steak tostada salad and though it still tastes just as great as ever I noticed that it was two-thirds the size it used to be. The table I sat at also smelled weird probably due to a dirty rag wiping it down and their were gnats by the salsa bar. If it weren't for my experience yesterday I would have given this place 4 stars.

I tried a burrito here and it's very generic, unexciting fast food Mexican. It felt like several steps down from Chipotle. Not very flavorful or fresh and the salsa from their salsa bar was bland and tasteless. All I've tried is one of their burritos so it's possible that the rest of Baja Fresh's food is better.

I went here for lunch because I had great recollections of Baja Fresh years ago. Now that I was back in the Baja Fresh area of the world I was excited to eat here again! However, it did not live up to my expectations. I had the taquitos and my husband had tacos, and we were quite underwhelmed. Even the salsa bar couldn't make up for it. I don't know if it's just this location, but I don't plan on eating at a Baja Fresh again unless I'm really desperate! If you need fast food go to Chipotle...if you just want good Mexican food, there's a million other places you could go; Mexican restaurants are usually fairly fast anyway!

I recently had the Nacho Burrito, Enchilada Style. With that being said, I have one question for you, Yelpers. Have you ever been food-drunk? For fast-food, this is some of the best Mexican I have had next to Chipotle and Q'Doba. I would have to say one of my favorite things about this place was the Salsa Bar which had a selection of 5 salsas to dip your free chips in. If you love Mexican, give this place a try!

This place used to be good. Now the place is "tired looking" and falling apart. I'd say they may be having financial troubles. The food is fresh except for the guacamole, that was brown. I do like the salsa bar especially the pica de gallo . There's too much competition in this area for Baja Fresh to start slacking.

The food is pretty good. This is my first time eating at this place. I drop by here for lunch after work. The staff are nice and friendly.

Absolutely disgusting!!!! I'm should have listened to the reviews but I was so hungry and craving fish tacos. I ordered the taco combo with wahoo crispy fish tacos. The tacos had a skinny strip of fish. The rice was dry and tasteless and the beans were flavorless. I couldn't eat it. When I called to complain and ask for the manage the girl at the counter hung up on me!!! I went back inside and asked for a refund, which they have me. I'm still calling corporate!! Stay away!!

Good value for the money! Only negative I noticed at this location was flies roaming on salsa bar and staff was least bothered about those flies.

I sometimes crave Baja Fresh but this particular location just doesnt do it for me. I stopped here for a quick dinner after getting some supplies for a beach trip at the nearby Walmart. The woman at the counter (who appeared to be a manager) took 2 uncomfortable minutes to do something with the cash drawer, with no acknowledgement that I was standing in front of her. After taking my order, she literally slung a paper container through the chips and caught a few....then passed me my receipt and indicated what my order number was....in spanish. Really? I have to admit, the guys on the line that fulfilled my 2 taco order really loaded them up. But from my vantage point while eating, I could see the woman I had at the register go over and sit at a high table...then slink over SLOWLY when another customer came in. Three times. I get that you're not that busy, but do something to look busy!

Normally I seek out Baka Fresh. It's the closest I can get to a quality Mexican food place with great fish tacos. This time round, not so much. I ordered 3 fish tacos. The grilled was good but not how I ordered it. The clerk assumed that I wanted American style. The fried fish came the same way. I was very disappointed that I was not asked whether I wanted Baja or Americano style. I could blame it on racism but then I'd just be an ass. The fried fish was NOT fresh. Fix these issues BAJA FRESH!!! I wanted Baja and I wanted Fresh, I did not get either.

I got the chicken fajitas. They were delicious and made quickly. Just as good as in any finer restaurant.

Went here during work because I forgot my lunch. Will not be making that mistake again. Little to no flavor, inside was dirty, menu was sparse, and overall did not experience the "fresh" vibe this place claims to have. This is my second time at a Baja Fresh, and will be my last. If you want quick tex-mex, do Chipotle or Qdoba. Otherwise try one of the other many quick lunch places in the area.

I did lunch here Friday around 1:30 or so. I got my order in and was eating in about 10 minutes. Everyone was friendly. I went with the shrimp burrito. It was good, plenty of shrimp but nothing outstanding. The Pico de gallo was decent. I may return if convenient.

Mexican fast food .... More selections than Chipotle and California Tortilla. Everything is made to order, so there's a bit of a wait to get your food. You'll get loaded up with chips to make your wait less of a hassle. There's a salsa bar for your pleasure. I'm a big fan of pico de gallo so I load my entrees up with more pico than you'd ever want to see on a single plate. This location is always clean, the staff is nice and I've never waited more than 5-10 minutes for my food. The prices aren't out of control and it's pretty affordable. Baja Fresh gets two thumbs up from this kid.

I go here sometimes on my lunch break, and you'll love it. My favorite think about Baja Fresh is that they don't use freezers, microwaves, trans fat, or anything unhealthy, and that is always a plus. It's nice to know that you're eating something that isn't as bad for you as the usual fast food. The food itself is delicious. I love their guacamole and the chicken is tasty. I always get the chicken burrito and load it up with lots of salsa, hot sauce, cheese, and guacamole. Also, they have this great new salsa that is black -- I forget the name, but it's so spicy and yummy. The service is superb too, with friendly and polite front counter staff. The food always arrives promptly. My office has used Baja Fresh for catering staff meetings several times now, and it's always made exactly to our specifications with care.

Baja Fresh ... fast food, consistent product, good value. I like their salsa bar, particularly the salsa negro, which has a great smoky flavor to it. Good salad options. Very good burritos. It's a tossup in my mind between Chipotle and Baja Fresh for best fast-food Mexican chain. Restaurant is always very clean and seems to always be popular & busy at peak times, like Chipotle. One kvetch: Baja Fresh doesn't have fresh-brewed iced tea, like Chipotle. They have one of those premix iced tea machines, but it's just not quite as good. On the other hand, Baja Fresh has a salsa bar, and you get some chips with every burrito, whereas you have to pay extra for chips and [a more limited selection of] salsa at Chipotle. Recommended. On my short list of quickie lunch options, since I'm a huge Mexican food fan.

This isnt quite "authentic" mexican food....but it's a good cross between mexican flavors and "California" style food. The flavors maybe Mexican...but the execution is quite different. There are alot more opportunities to add vegges to the standard Mexican fare. As a result, you can construct a burrito that isnt as heavy because you can add tomatoes, cilantro, onions and ask for lettuce inside of it. Ironically...I have been to Mexico and ate off of one of those street vendor carts in Rosarita and had one of the best tacos I ever had.....no midnight runs either!!! Well come to think of it....that taco had lots of tomatoes..cilantro...onions and lettuce in it....much like how you could make it at Baja Fresh.... Don't expect enchiladas or tamales here....just tacos...burritos...fajitas..quesadillas, nachos and chicken taquitos and salads. Great fresh and good tasting food for a chain of restaurants. We come here often.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
