The food is very good. Definitely get the plantains. I often get the bistec a lo pobre a big mix of thin steak, fried eggs, fries, rice and plantains. The steak is a little tough but still good. The green and yellow sauces make the meal though. The salad is nice too. I go here regularly instead of Boston market, just because it is more interesting foodwise. The place is clean and looks it's newness. Only problem is the sometimes they mess the order up if you don't get the usual combo.

I will be back! It was so delicious and the entire group enjoyed. I had the lomo special (steak with grilled onions and tomato) with the best seasoning ever! I substituted and got fried rice and plantains. I have no complaints! Others at the table had the pollo special and 1/4 chicken dark meat with fries and white rice sides. Go here and enjoy!

Good stuff. Get the Peruvian chicken, plantains, and string beans. You won't be disappointed. Get the 1/2 chicken, the 1/4 chicken wasn't enough. I tried the Lomo saltado and it was too much salt. If you get that I'd recommend telling them go easy on the sodium unless you're cool with high blood pressure. There's plenty of room to eat inside as well.

Pleasantly surprised for area. We ordered a whole chicken and sides and the chicken was well cooked. Nice seasoning that I couldn't quite place and the sides were very good as well. Even if it was strange to have fried rice as one of the side options with chicken... Nothing made it exceptional but it was at least good

I love it here because the food is always fresh! Steak is tender!! Seasoned well!! The chicken is flavorful ! And juicy! The skin on the chicken is to die for!! You can tell they marinate the meat! REAL cheese!! And sour cream and not stingy with fillings! They play traditional Peruvian music!! The decor is cute! See I don't care for Taco Bell so when I am craving Mexican/ Peruvian style I come here and it's close to home!

Good chicken. Place looks clean with lots of tables. Will go back and check out/explore some more stuff on the menu someday- maybe the bistec a la pobre and ceviche.

This place has replaced chipotle for me. I get flavorful peruvian chicken and that ammaaazzinngg sauce all wrapped up in a burrito. And the other food is just as great. The fish with butter sauce is another great option. This place is big with ample seating and its bright. The only down side here is thay it seems to be in a dead zone. I couldn't get a signal to check in or write this review. The ppl are very nice and generous with the servings and the protein isnt kept sitting around to long. Whether thats because they make most of it to order or because ppl eat it so quickly you can be sure to get something hot. This is a great spot to grab good lunch or get their whole rotisserie chicken with sides for family dinner

Oh Lima's how I have been waiting for you to open. I have watched in awe, as I have gone to the grocery store and gotten my nails done as you were being fixed up on the inside preparing for me. Finally, there you are! YES! Located in the same shopping center as the illustrious Aldi, the soon to be gone Babies R Us and the 5 Below, Lima's is a new fixture that sells pollo a la brasa, tacos, subs and the like. The interior is fairly large and welcoming, the staff are friendly. There are separate lines depending on what you choose to order, specials depending on need and a pretty decent selection of sides to pair with the chicken. Think rice and beans, fries, yuca...etc. A 1/4 white meat with two sides is less than eight bucks and it was a hella lot of food. The chicken wasn't too dry, and it was just tasty. I was trying to go light, so I had the mixed veggies, which were right up my alley, nice and crisp. The plantanos were sweet, some were a little too sweet for my liking. The only thing that I observed was that the food may have sat out for a bit, so if I return I would more than likely go a bit earlier. Oh and I will return, I have so much more food to try.

Lima's Chicken needs some more positive publicity. The space they're in used to be nasty cheap-ass Cici's Pizza, and it took me forever to realize there'd been a change there. It was pretty quiet as we wandered in on a Tuesday night, which is a shame because the food's pretty solid. El Pollo Rico in Wheaton, MD used to be my gold standard for Peruvian-style rotisserie birds - tender/crispy/charred with loads of seasoning rub permeating every morsel of meat and skin. Lima's ain't that, but it's still pretty respectable. Fall-off-the-bone tender on the inside and seasoned well, with nicely spicy cilantro/chile sauce on the side. I chose pinto beans and yucca fries as my sides for my half-chicken, and we snagged an order of chips and guac to go along. The beans were tender, salty, and slightly smoky. Adding a few dashes of hot sauce made 'em just right. The guacamole was creamy and had some heat to it, presumably from some slyly incorporated jalapeno. The yucca fries, however, were a bit thick. And, as such, dense and starchy instead of light and crispy. The yucca's the only thing I'd change. Still, solid pollo. Good sides. Reasonable prices. Friendly service. They deserve to be doing more business. So, you should visit them now if you're in the area. Get some chicken. Be happy.

Love this place. Great value and friendly staff. Food is always consistently great. The lady that works in the front is always very nice as well. Went in when they were about to close so I was going to leave but she was more than accommodating to get us our food.

Finally a decent Peruvian place near us! The restaurant was clean and modern. My 2 kids and I tried the whole chicken and a side of Yuca. The service was quick and they were not stingy on the yellow sauce! Yay! The chicken was on the small side compared to other Peruvian chicken place such as Sardi in College Park. it was very flavorful so thumbs up! The yuca was ok. It was on the dry side. We did not try other sides as they did not look too fresh. So I will come back for the chicken and the yellow sauce.

YUM. Stopped here shortly after they opened for the day, so like 11:10 AM. The service was so fast it blew me away. I ordered half a chicken with green beans and plantains, and it was handed to me (packaged and in a bag) in under 2 minutes. Everything was fresh and hot, even after a 10 minute drive home, and tasted AMAZING. My only gripe is PLEASE put more sauces in the to-go bag. One small container of yellow sauce is not enough for this hungry gal.

I would definitely need to go back to give a more accurate review since we didn't actually get the chicken (shame on us). I loved my pork chops- not too salty and cooked well. The yucca, plaintains, and fried rice were delicious. Definitely will have to plan a return visit to try the chicken!

At Lima's Chicken you will find the most delicious rotisserie chicken, grilled steak and Peruvian dishes prepared with ingredients of the highest quality. Everything looks very fresh and smells delicious the moment you walk in through their doors. Reading the menu is a bit overwhelming since there are a lot of different dishes you can order and for someone like me who has never had Peruvian food before, you tend to be a little overwhelmed. I ordered the Carne Asada which was grilled steak and onions with two sides, my sides consisted of black beans and French fries that were drenched in some sort of gravy (that was amazing). My boyfriend ordered chicken tacos (come in threes) that came in flour tortillas with lettuce, cheese and sour cream. Our total came to $23.00 for the two of us. My friends have had the Peruvian dishes here which consist of Peruvian Ceviche (Fresh fish in lime juice mixed with special spices) and Lomo Saltado (Seasoned with soy sauce and yellow peppers). I have not had these yet but I will soon try them! The restaurant inside used to be a Friendly's restaurant, however, this establishment no longer resembles Friendly's at all and the inside is now fresh, clean and provides a family atmosphere with clean bathrooms! Please note that there are multiple deals at Lima's Chicken. Some of the best deals are currently on her website which can be viewed at this link: limaschicken.com . If you cannot view the link then here some are: $17.95 for a whole chicken and two sides, $9.65 for a 1/2 chicken and two sides, $6.45 for a ¼ dark meat chicken and two sides and $7.25 for a ¼ white meat chicken and two sides.

Delish!! I can't wait to go back! The cashier was nice, the sides looked yummy and I was out in 5 mins--maybe less? I love the selection of items. My food was absolutely delicious: 1/4 dark, plantains & green beans for $7! Can't beat that!

So this review is based on my three visits this past week. Yes I said three in a week. It's that good! I love a good charbroiled chicken and this place hits the spot. The food portions are good for the price you pay. The quantity of the sides is great. Between myself and the guest with me we tried the burrito bowls with chicken, charbroiled chicken, and lamb gyro. The sides I had were fried rice, red beans and rice, coleslaw, greenbeans. Each of them were really good. The best in my opinion was the dried rice. Chicken is nice and moist great flavor. Only suggestion if you are eating in the restaurant buying a jacket or sweater they keep it cold in there. Will be back, many more times.

Couldn't wait to try Lima's again! This visit I ordered the Bistec a lo pobre which is steak, french fries, rice and plantains with fried eggs on top. From the description I thought I would be getting this mountain of layered yumminess, instead the meat and eggs were on top of the rice but the plantains and french fries were like side items. It was still good so I'm not complaining, I just expected something else visually. This will be one of my favorite spots from now on, food is fresh and hot when it hits the table and I love that there are so many menu items to choose from.

I like this place plain and simple. Rt. 40 has many limits food wise so this is a welcome change. I like that they offer so many choices. I've had the chicken and its delicious. The burrito bowl is also great (get steak and chicken). The plantains are addicting and yummy. Staff is friendly and the restaurant is clean, glad to have them in the area!

Very moist and flavorful Peruvian chicken. Friendly service. Super easy on your wallet. Not a long wait during dinnertime on a weeknight. If you've been to Sardi's before, this place is really similar with respect to quality and price. Maybe, just maybe, Lima's is a bit better because it's seemingly never mobbed.

There are only a few smells that get me this hungry and this place has it! You can look at your food and tell it was made well! Gray portions, quality and prices. I can dig that! I used to live near a place like this in Baltimore city and I'm having flashbacks of some very great meals! I feel stupid though because I forgot to get the Horchata. Doh!! Hands-down, if you haven't been here yet and you live anywhere within a 15 minute drive, you should probably do that. Like now-ish!

If you're looking for good chicken look no further! Its Peruvian style and so tender and flavorful. I got cilantro white rice and red potatoes. Washing it down with an Inca kola. Will most definitely be back again!

We went their for lunch, I got the carne asada and my boyfriend got the chicken, it was good but nothing too special, the sauces were pretty bland compared to others we have tried. I think there's other places around that area better but the food was ok. We'd go backs again but it wouldn't be our first choice.

It surprised me and shocked me that a Peruvian chicken place FINALLY decided to open up around here. With a plethora of cuisine along Rt 40 in this area, Lima's Chicken continues to add to the smorgasboard of options available. I knew I had to check it out. Apparently, this place has several other locations, and this is their newest place. They seem to have a fair number of food options, from Peruvian-specialized dishes, tacos/burritos, and sandwiches, but I knew that I had to try their namesake chicken before trying any other options. If it's good enough to deserve a spot in the restaurant's name, it's gotta be worth trying before anything else, right? Out of all the Peruvian chicken I've ever had, Lima's was good, but not exceedingly so. The sides were good, but not great. The yucca, green beans, and plantains were good, but didn't have anything particular special about them. The sauces that they had kinda mirrored everything else that I ordered: I liked it, but they almost made me feel like it was a bit uninspired. Being the only Peruvian chicken joint on this stretch of 40, Lima's fills a much-needed need as a provider of solid quality pollo a la brasa. I also wonder if they're still getting their bearings, since it seems like it hasn't been too long since they've opened. I'd love to come back sometime to see if they have anything else on the menu that could potentially wow me. This place really seems promising.

Today I decided to try limas chicken, I wasn't sure what to eat and thought of this place that I had drove by so many times. Very happy I did, it's a Peruvian style eat in and carry out. They had everything from chipotle gyros steak and whole chicken family meals. Also sweet plantains! Everything looks clean and well maintained. Food was delicious!! We ordered a chicken gyro and some other things I can't pronounce. I posted a picture below. Service was mediocre , average I would say. The cashier didn't look very excited to answer few questions I had about things on the menu but that's ok the food made up for it. Overall I will be back, I can't wait to get hungry again and try more items on the menu!

Food is inconsistent. First time here the chicken was amazing and the next week it was pretty dry. Service is good. Pretty clean but the dirty finger prints on the glass when you enter gives you a bad impression before you even walk in. Overall it's a good value and delicious but the food needs to be more inconsistent.

Great food, fast service just an all around nice place to try. If you are looking for a chipotle replacement this is it. Try the bowl with the different sauces they are the best. Great job.

Went on a family date with the wife and kid. Pleasant atmosphere with the Latino music. Of course the food had me licking my fingers. The chicken was great, plantains super sweet and the melon drink was the bomb. Will definitely go back there, since it's definitely in my area.

Been waiting for delicious charbroiled Peruvian chicken in my 'hood, and this place does not disappoint! To start with, the dining area is huge and sparkling clean, so already a big step up from every other Peruvian chicken spot I've patronized. So far I've only tried the chicken and a couple of the sides (dark meat is the juiciest) and I'd say it's on-par or better than Crisp 'n Juicy. Will definitely be back to try some of the specialty dishes.

I really enjoyed! My friend got the burrito bowl which was better than the neighborhood Chipotle! I had the wrap and that was pretty good.

I have never tried Peruvian charbroiled chicken before and I have to say, Lima's Chicken made a great impression on a first timer like myself! I always pass by that shopping section in route 40 and was very excited to see a new restaurant in town. I ordered the 1/4 White Meat (that came with two sides) and yucca fries and plantains. The order also came with two types of sauces, one is jalapeño-based and one is mayo/mustard-based. For the price you are paying, the portion are relatively large, which is always great! The charbroiled chicken did not disappoint as the skin was slightly crispy and the breast was moist. There was a spot in the inner breast near the bone area where it was slightly undercooked but it's not a big deal because overall, the chicken was delicious. I really liked the simple yucca fries especially dipped in the mayo-mustard sauce. The plantains were very sweet and its caramelized edges really had me going back for more. They also sell pre-packed desserts located at the drinks refrigerator. I got the flan but they also have tres leches cake! This will be my go-to spot for some reasonably priced meals for lunch/dinner after coming back from my classes. Can't wait to try more of their menu!

My wife and I came here on a whim and couldn't have been happier with the results. I went with a basic charbroiled chicken meal, and she did the pollo saltado. Charbroiled chicken had a little more bite than other places I've had which I loved. Her meal was fresh, well-spiced and plentiful. Dining room was clean and open, and the staff pleasant.

Maryland's version of Pollo Tropical in Miami. Really yummy. We loved the rotisserie chicken, the beans, plantains, and green beans. My husvand thought the potatoes were undercooked but I liked them. My 7yr old got the cheesesteak sub and it was so fresh and delicious. Looking forward to our next visit to Lima's!

For the past three years I've been begging various deities to plop down a Peruvian Chicken place in Catonsville. Somewhere in between Cthulu and R'hllor, Lima's Chicken was sent down to fulfill my wishes. I drove down from the city just to give this place a try. First plus? This place offers more than your traditional chicken, although the name of the place is a pretty big hint as to what the highlight of the place is. You could also get tacos/burritos here as well, and they've done a pretty interesting job of bootlegging the main machinery of Chipotle for their one-man assembly line. Ceviche and other assorted foodstuffs can also be procured here. Quarter chicken dark is always a safe bet for any chicken place. I got yucca and green beans. The yucca was cold and shivering. Green beans were pretty solid; nothing mind blowing, but there's a reason why this place isn't called Lima's Sauteed Green Beans and Onions. The chicken was decent, and was everything I have come to expect from Peruvian Chicken. I'm a real snob when it comes to charbroiled gallus gallus, so if you're new to Peruvian Chicken, this place is a really solid place to start as the chicken is actually pretty good. If you're conceited like me, you may want to pay attention to the sodium-heavy seasoning, which overshadows the delicate balance of mystery herbs and vague beer-like flavor of the chicken. My chicken also tasted vaguely of 409 disinfectant (on the bright side, no salmonella for me from this chicken). Also, the sauces (which are my favorite hoardable souvenir) are decent, nothing amazing. The green sauce could use a little flavoring aside from spicy and salty, and the yellow sauce just tasted like mayo, cheese, and maybe a little mustard. If you guzzle sauce like a SUV the way I do, you may want to request some extra ones, because the one half-filled ketchup cup you get won't satisfy. Ambiance is cheery, casual, and generous. The place is large and very clean. I'm a fan of their playlist, but the volume is not conducive to, say, proposing marriage to your beloved. If you were, however, to find yourself in need for a place in which you wanted to break up with said beloved without the details being overheard, this would be it. Not loud enough to drown out screams and raving, though. No horchata here. Since the green sauce is quite spicy, the milk in horchata has saved my life at other chicken places seeing as I'm a masochist and will continue to drink the sauce. There is no horchata here, so I just let the tears of pain stream down my face as I used my chicken bone to shove sauce in my face. Verdict? Give it a try, since this Peruvian Chicken is relatively new to the Catonsville area. Prices are decent, serving sizes are enough to fill you up, the establishment is really clean (for now) and spacious, and the staff is very friendly. Quality and taste of food is pretty good, and since they're new, I'd give them a few more weeks to really get their recipes and cooking methods optimized for the location. This place has potential. If any additional motivation is needed, think of the glorious Aldi and Dollar Tree right across the street - good food and cheap groceries, courtesy of your friendly neighborhood Cthulu.

I went here for lunch today! I had the 1/4 chicken (dark meat) with two sides (black beans and mixed veggies). Everything was delicious. I loved the taste of the chicken. Oh and they give you this yellow and green sauce for the chicken. The green is very spicy and the yellow is sweet. They taste great mixed together. The price was excellent. I'm full and my meal was only $6.84. I will come back to try something else.

Great, healthy, homemade-tasting food. Great place to go if you're on a diet because they have healthy alternatives. Quick and fresh, that's how I like it. I love the plantains and yucca, and the chicken is awesome--and it's not fried!

Best chicken in Catonsville! I've been there at least 5 times within the past month or so and I always left satisfied. I haven't tried anything else except for the chicken and sides. Its just too good. The staff is friendly, the place is clean, the food is delicious, what more could you ask for? The main reason I'm writing this review is because I don't think a lot of people know about it yet so every night seems like a slow night. I would hate for them to leave because business never picked up. So if you're reading this then make sure you go and tell your friends to go too. Lets show them we want them to stay.

The food was EVERYTHING I had hoped for! We ordered the 1/4 chicken white with 2 sides (green beans and plantains) The chicken was cooked to perfection and never in my life have I had better plantains! The portions are generous and the restaurant is very clean and a nice place to eat. Cannot wait to go back.
