I normally love Olive Garden but this one sucks..A LOT. The service is horrible, the staff is rude, the food takes forever and then ends up being disgusting. I will never eat there again and everyone else should avoid it.

all the food came out luke warm, the server handed me a hot Plate and then after i almost dropped it, started to laugh. when we sent stuff back to be heated up... still came out cold. never refilled drinks, We where celebrating my Grandmothers 85th birthday and asked the server to bring out a cake for Dessert... SHE FORGOT... The Manager however did a very good job taking care of a good portion of the bill... And to top things off.. we got there early to watch the Skins game... And there was no Tv's in the bar.. we had to go acrross the street and "enjoy" a beer and the game

I go to this restaurant once or twice a year because it's half-way between my home in Silver Spring and a friend's home on the Eastern Shore so it's a good meeting place for lunch. Everytime I go I promise myself next time I will stick to the soup and salad, but no, I go ahead and order one of their very blah entrees. Friend and I met up mid-week, mid-day and it was still crowded--must have been because of Spring break and a lot of people were off for the week. I've never had much impression either way of the staff before, but this week they seemed rather bored and not particularly friendly. Our waiter, hopefully, was new because he didn't seem to know what the heck he was doing. Their salad is pretty good. Friend had some panini thing, which looked pathetic, and I had the chicken parmesan which was so-so. I really think, rather than try to remember to order soup and salad next time, I need to do some homework and find an entirely different restaurant in Bowie to meet my friend.

I came here with a group of friends for dinner. We were quickly seated but unfortunately that was the only good thing about the visit. Even though we were seated, it took our waitress a long time to approach us and when she did, she came up to us in a rude, I don't care, manner. It was a big wtf, I've never received such bad service from anywhere before. She spoke to us like she belonged in highschool and we were her classmates, she was very rude. Our drinks took forever to come out and she seemed more preoccupied with what her friend visitor and coworkers were doing. When she came out with our food, it was rather very unprofessional. Some of the plates were hot so she would carry it with one hand saying ouch, hot, I thought that was rather unnecessary. She also dropped a couple of my shrimps, maybe if she held the plates with both hands she wouldve had more control over the plate... The food was average, like any other Olive Garden. Overall we had terrible service, the wait for everything took forever. I seriously question the hiring process and management of this Olive Garden

Very small portions , but very high prices. I was very disappoint with the food the pasta was stuck to the plate , that tells me that they put the food in a plate ahead of time then warm it up....WTF...The waiters are young but they need a class on how to give good customer service....very very bad all in all, the rest rooms were not clean either..LoL I live in bowie but I have to go to Columbia or Annapolis for good quality food...dam...

I went to olive garden this past weekend with my 2 toddlers . we went right before peak hours so they weren't that busy . the older host lady first left us at the host stand and walked around to talk to another worker. she came back and ask simply said "name" ... we then waited for a few minutes because there were a few parties in front of us. they finally called us and we got sat. but here is where it got crazy .. we waited almost 20mins for our server .. the girls who was working the table next to us , came over and checked on us but that's it . the lady finally came she rushed us thru everything the whole time , drinks,apps,etc.. either she doesn't have kids or doesn't understand how it works .. she would then only bring out one kids cup and not the other one. which isn't smart , one plate for one kid and not the other one. I felt like she was in some type of race or marathon .. she was running past and never checked on us once. the breadsticks and salad we love. that's why we come, but this time it was burnt and she brought it out without looking at it .. she didn't bring the kids any forks until I asked .. I had to ask for everything. Her customer service was wayyyyyyyy off .. she shouldn't be working during the busy hours if she cant handle it ... only name I see on my receipt is Claudia G .. an older lady... Table 303 you never know who is the same industry as you . so customer service is a must .. the food is good. your just better off with a great experience at home..

The food was fine, what you'd expect from Olive Garden. The hostess station and wait staff seem like people in training, all a bit confused and lacking polish.

Dont eat here. Bad, unprofessional service. Below average food, this is not the Olive Garden I am used too. Waiter was rude and acted pretty ignorant.

I like the endless salad and the house red wine is surprisingly good.

Not bad! This is a place I like to go occassionally. I'm not sure why that is since I do really like Italian. The seafood portofino is my favorite (lingeni, mussells, shrimp, and scallops in marinara suace). Never had any real complains about the place and its service but there can be a bit of a wait for a table on occassion. Nothing overwhelming though.

First and foremost, This Olive Garden is ABSOLUTELY APPALLING. I don't reccommend ANYONE dining at this establishment. I'm sure EVERYONE has tried OG's food and are aware of their reasonable prices so there is no need for me to get into that. When I go to a restaurant, GOOD food and GOOD prices isn't ENOUGH. I go for the experience. And let me just say, OG at The Bowie Town Center fails GREATLY to deliver a good dining experience -customer service wise. *I went there last night with a friend, and waited for 20-25 minutes at the table before or server even ACKNOWLDGED us. -_- *Once he got to our table, he didn't apologize for the wait at all. He was rude and VERY short with us. *Two tables had been seated AFTER us and by the time we got our DINNER they were getting checks and to-go boxes. *it took an hour and 5 minutes to recieve our meals! *Also, we noticed how he boxed his other table's meals, but he didn't box ours. I blame the poor service on the location of the restuarant. It is located by Bowie State University, I'm sure the servers are used to broke college kids coming in and not tipping well, but that is ABSOLUTELY no excuse for this restaurant's demeaner and behavior towards their customers. DO NOT EVER GO TO THIS OLIVE GARDEN.

I will give you three stars Olive Garden even though the waitress was visibly tired of having us order the never-ending salad and soup combos (don't forget the awesome bread sticks). She looked like she was about to kill me with her stare.

I came to the Bowie, MD Olive Garden with a party of 7 after my brother's graduation from Bowie High School. I checked in and was told there was a wait of about 45 minutes. We waited about 40 minutes and checked back in to see if they were running on time. At this point, we were told that there were three groups still in front of us and we were not going to be seated in the promised time. We were not given an estimate and were told we would just have to wait. We waited about 20 more minutes before we gave up and left. We had a Darden giftcard and we were still so frustrated with the lack of communication that we patronized a local restaurant instead. I know large parties are hard to handle, but we went to Olive Garden because they "treat everyone as family," but we did not feel like family today. This was a very disappointing experience on a very special day for our family. We very much enjoy your restaurant normally and I just felt I should share our experience.

We (my husband and I) have been to this OG a couple of times and I have to admit that I actually thought the food was pretty decent for a chain Italian place. I'd stopped eating at OG years ago because I wanted better Italian food. Luckily since then, OG has apparently upgraded the menu. I had a seafood and pasta dish and hubby had a steak dish of some type which he really enjoyed. My only complaint is....drumroll.....the service. It's not that it was bad, but I think the servers need additional customer service training, especially in the area of making the patrons want to return. However all in all I was pleasantly surprised by this OG.

Seeing that the OG in Laurel got a paltry 2 stars, it looks like I may have to take my future cravings further north or south. It's such a bummer that you can't get great service at either of these locations. I decided to overlook how livid I was at the service last night and just comment on how this OG stacks up. The truth of it is, we come to Olive Garden for 3 reasons, their salad, their soup and their endless pasta bowls, anything else we really don't think of too extensively. I would say their bread sticks are something we like as well, but since coming to this location for the past 3 years, their bread sticks are not like the classic OG bread sticks should be: warm, chewy and covered with a thin layer of butter and sprinkled with Parmesan cheese. Their bread sticks have always been a tad on the dry and not flavorful side here, much to our repeated disappointment, BUT the food is always pretty good. I wish I could say the same for the service. Actually, it wouldn't be fair of me to say that the service isn't usually good, because my husband and I have had good service here many times. For whatever reason, our waiter was acting like he was too good for the Olive Garden. He seemed snobby, aloof and flashed in and out of the kitchen like he was a ninja waiter and this was some form of extreme dining competition. It was truly weird. He seemed to perfect the disappearing act, since we rarely saw him. Hubby got the endless soup and salad of which, he got one plate of salad and one bowl of soup. I'm sorry, but that was not worth $9.50 for that. The waiter wanted to have a huge stick up his butt about the fact that the two nieces each had about 3 pieces of lettuce each and didn't have entrees, so he wanted to charge us for two kid side-salads, but he didn't want to freakin' refill the bowl. Ok, I need to take some deep breaths, because he's starting to piss me off again. Our food was fine, the lack of salad really bothered me, though. The poor and rude service also made me think twice about ever coming back here. We should have had a nice discussion with the manager about the waiter, but we were too tired and irritated by the end of the meal to bother with him. He gets 1 star. You know the Olive Garden's food. It's yummy. I don't think I've ever ordered something there and thought, "yuck". Their new beef and tortellini dish is very good; the steak pieces in it are extremely tender. My sister-in-law and I shared a frozen tiramisu, which wasn't half bad, and the whole table shared the new berries and cream dessert, which I would recommend. I guess I'm just sad that the Olive Garden here isn't like the Olive Gardens I remember in TX. Next time, my options are Columbia or Falls Church....hopefully they are places where the waiters aren't constantly dealing with the customers trash and getting crapped on for tips.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
