You could easily drive by this place and miss it, but it would be your loss. This place is a thin crust lover's heaven, and it's about as Mom and Pop as you can get. The crust is perfectly crisp; the cheese and sauce, a perfect zesty, tangy duo without the sloppy greasiness of Ledo's. As a kid, Cetrone's was the standard post-Bowie Boys and Girls Club softballl game hangout. I've been here for birthdays, Girl Scout parties, family get-togethers, and no reason, just hungry dinner. In middle school, Joey Cetrone, the son of the owners, taught me to snowboard during a ski retreat. It doesn't get more local than that. Sure, Papa John's is ok, and Pizza Hut delivers pasta now too, but neither of them support this town the way Cetrone's has over the years. This place IS Bowie.

Cetrones is known for it's pizza, but the surprise gem is the calzone. Honestly the best calzone I've ever had. I'm a major foodie and come from an Italian family that had it's own restaurant. I've never tasted any calzone nearly as delicious. In fact, I'm going to get one today for lunch! I think the secret is the dough. It's just perfection. I've introduced friends to Cetrones and now it's a necessary stop for any out-of-town visitor per their request! Like the others said, it's a home town institution and I'm proud to support it!

Best Calzones and Pizza in town. The marinara sauce is AWSOME. They don't have the large restaurant space they once had, but you will not find a better privately owned OR franchise pizza spot in this area with better tasting pizza-style food as they prepare. Papa Johns, Pizza Hut, Three Brothers, Dominos? Please!! GO THERE give them a try. You won't be disappointed.

Staying overnight and a lady recommended this place. Reviews were 1/2 n 1/2.... Not good, i wanted to like it but there was no flavor and the cheese was not quality. Salad was a pile of wilted lettuce with a few olives and non-ripe tomatoes. We ate it but would NOT eat there again.

A hidden pizza spot in the Bowie/Crofton , MD area. Forget about Pizza Hut and Papa Johns or even Ledos for that matter. I sort of just bumped into this spot (I actually got lost and made a U-turn in the parking lot :) ) Good thing I did get lost, b/c the next time I was craving pizza I ordered from Centrones. The pizza comes in Regular Hand Tossed, New York Style or Square. I opted to pick up my pizza but they do have delivery as well which I believe makes up a majority of their business. To my surprise, the Pizza was Delicious!! I was stunned that I haven't heard about this place before. The sauce is fresh and has a great flavor with the addition of quality toppings. Centrone is a Local Winner in my book! I normally order the Square Ledo style pizza w/ Pepperoni, Mushrooms, Onions and Green Peppers....Yum! So next time you are having Pizza or Pizza & Wine Night! Give Centrones a try if you want to break away from the normal commercial pizza spots.

Cetrone's is a real hidden gem in Bowie. They're Pizza Wheel dough is awesome, and is complimented with a nice cheese to sauce ratio. I have always been a pizza enthusiast and I would take they're pizza crust over Ledo's any day. Friendly local staff and great service as well.

I really wanted this place to be good, I REALLY did, but it just wasn't. I kept my order simple by requesting a pepperoni & sausage pizza and buffalo wings. The pizza sauce was bland and overall, the pizza was not too tasty. It reminded me of pizza back in my high school days in the cafeteria. The chicken wings were boneless. I'm not a fan of boneless wing because they lack overall flavor, and these were no different. The guy behind the counter seemed very stressed, as if he were overwhelmed and overworked. Maybe that's why everything was terrible? I'll never know because I won't be returning to Cetrone's. There's definitely better out there.

This is my favorite pizza spot in the Bowie area. Quick delivery and the pizza is great. Toppings are fresh and the sauce to cheese ratio is good. The wings aren't great, but the star of the show is the pizza. It would be nice if the website was more optimized with information. There's no online ordering. Little things, but the pizza is a winner every time.

When I arrive at this place, my app wouldn't let me check in and said I was too far, putting this place over 3 miles to where it actually exist. So checking in is not possible. Meanwhile, I created a new business in Yelp to put it in its correct GPS location, but all the reviews are here. So I will repeat my review here. If you grew up in Bowie in the 70s and 80s, then you knew the only place to get pizza was Pizza Wheel. They had one in Hilltop Plaza and one at Collington Plaza. I didn't pay attention, but next thing I knew, Pizza Wheel was gone. I didn't think I would miss it, but always remembered that I was happy when I ate it. I accepted the loss. Talking to my buddy who lives in NJ, he asked me if Cetrones is still around? I, of course, said, what? He told me that he gets his Pizza Wheel fix at Cetrones. Wow, how exciting? So, I called them up, ordered a pizza, and drove over to pick it up. This looks like a carry out or delivery place only. A few table exist, but it's really not restaurant quality. But I was picking up, so I was ok with it. Meanwhile, when I got it home, it was exactly the Pizza Wheel pizza I had as a kid. I'm so excited. Meanwhile, all those years I thought it was gone, I'm mad at myself for denying my Pizza Wheel fix. Too bad I'm leaving the area, I will go back missing my Pizza Wheel pizza.

Pizza was ok. It's a good option if you're close. I've had better. I think I expected too much from reading some of the other reviews

I Love this pizza place! We have guests at our house every Sunday for the football games (we have the DirecTV NFL Sunday Ticket) and we have convinced EVERYONE to get food from here! We have converted sooo many people from big pizza chains and even Ledo's to start eating the pizza here! Sometimes we get our food delivered and sometimes we drive (or walk) over there to pick it up. Customer service is great either way. Of course I talk about the pizza being amazeballs, but even the boneless hot wings are amazing here. Last week, a friend ordered a salad topped with grilled chicken and the vegetables were so fresh that I could smell them as soon as she opened the container. I mean the fresh green peppers smelled almost better than the pepperoni pizza sitting next to me LOL. That just made me more confident in the freshness and quality of ingredients they use there.

Ok at best.Pizza is always over cooked and for the price, they skimp big time on the toppings.Subs aren't any better, small not enough meat and again.overpriced. I have been going back and forth with this dump for 20 years or more.Never again

The best pizza in Bowie hands down. Flavorful and a great staff. And the buy one get one free on Mondays is great deal.

The pizza was light, crisp and delicious!! I liked that it wasn't overflowing with sauce high kept the crust crisp and light.

  • Shelby K.

Fer serious, this pizza. This pizza is serious. You won't find a better crust. And oh, the sauce! I think I'd pick this little joint over Ledo's. I just love Cetrone's!

The pizza wheel is the way to go. Cetrones was my favorite in middle and high school. So glad it is still around 20 years later when I come back to town.

I've known about Cetrone's since I first moved to Crofton in 2008 from Seattle, but it was just not close enough to try. Today, I did a yelp search for pizza for lunch and realized it was pretty close to my office in Lanham, so I finally got to try it, and I must say I am quite pleased! My group ordered 3 items of which I tried 2. We had the Sausage, Peppers and onion Calzone, Thin Crust Cheese Pizza and one person also got the side salad. Calzone first. It was about a foot + long! I am used to these things (in Maryland)being overstuffed with cheese, but that's not the case here. I would say that they had just the right amount of filling. I was able to finish the whole thing and not feel gross! It was serverd with a very flavorful marinara on the side for dipping. Cheese Pizza. This was the thin crust that we tried. VERY GOOD! It was a little different in that I am used to (and usually prefer) a thin cracker type crust. This was slightly chewey. I liked it, and I will be ordering it again. Salad. My friend liked it. It looked like your typical pizzeria salad (onions, peppers, olives, tomatos and iceberg lettuce) but it was pretty good size for $2.50. The overall cost was pretty inexpensve. And the guy at the store told me when he heard we had come from Lanham that they deliver there also....good to know. I will be back!

I moved away from Bowie to the west coast and the only thing I miss back home is the thin crust pizza from Cetrones. I used to order a bacon and onion 10x14, with light sauce, cooked crispy on the bottom. I have never eaten another thin crust pizza in my life that was half as good as Cetrones. They also made a great Calzone. I recommend the Veggie Calzone with Mushrooms, Green Peppers, and Onions. If I ever make it back to Bowie, Cetrones is seriously the first place I'm going to visit. They also make a great turkey sub. They get fresh deliveries of bread for the subs every day from Vince's deli in Crofton.

Parking lot is crazy dark. Pizza is teeny tiny for price. Whole thing tasted like chef-boy-r-dee

Sauce is TOO sweet! And the crust should be a lot crisper. Not a good value for money.

I walked into this place, having to make a large order, but the guy who seems to be a manager or owner, had a lot of attitude and was drenched in sweat. It was disgusting. Needless to say, I walked out and will never go back again.

  • Mike P.

It is my favorite pizza. It is that simple. I love it and crave it. The first time I had it was a few weeks ago. I can't believe I am just now experiencing this awesomeness. Those years without this pizza are years I will never get back.

Cetrone's is a divey looking hole-in-the-wall, in a forgotten little shopping center, that happens to make great pizza. The guys there are always friendly and the service is fast. Dine-in options are pretty limited; it's basically a carry-out store with a couple tables in the front. You can get it delivered, but I like to pick it up myself just to get a whiff of the delicious aroma that comes from the pizza ovens. The thin crust pizza is awesome. When in Bowie this is the place to go for pizza!

    (4)
  • Nee J.

Okay pizza. Just okay. We ordered a pepperoni and an order of fries. Pizza was okay as we were stuck with the pie after we paid for it. Fries were freezer burnt. It's off the beaten path and a little in the cut.

I am so glad I tried Cetrone's today for pizza! We were looking for a change from your usual pizza chains. It was truly a hit with the family. Cetrone's Pizza Place has moved up to our favorite place in bowie for pizza.

Seeing the great reviews I thought I was in for a treat...but alas twas not to be. I ordered at about 530 and was told about 30 min. 6 came around and nothing showed up. 610 nothing, 620 nothing, 635 finally the food showed up. Automatic minus two stars for lack of timeliness... If you are going to be late at least let me know. The pizza was bland...very bland. I got the hand tossed NY style. Absolutely forgettable, I mean no flavor at all. Like eating cardboard. Garlic bread had next to no garlic on it....but TONS of butter. Overall a serious disappointment. At least the price was pretty cheap, but then again I know why. I will just suck it up and drive 20 min to another place with far better quality and flavor.

Great local pizza place. Pizza was really good but not incredible. We were visiting in town and it was a better stop than a chain of restaurants.

I called tonight to order pizza and the guy was very rude. I wouldn't go to this place if it was the last place open.

  • Jasmin H.

Most certainly wasn't impressed after hearing such rave reviews. Unmemorable pizza and the kitchen looks very unsanitary, especially turns me off when I see tons of people smoking right in front of a open door that leads to the kitchen. I think the main reason people hype this place so much because it reminds long time residents of Bowie of the good ole days before it became so populated and is one of the remaining places in business from those days.

This is some of the best pizza that I have had in a long time. Closest to NY pizza that I have found. Thanks for the great pizza and service. This place delivers! You know it is good when you walk in and their main focus is pizza, not frilly decorations!

Love hole in the wall pizza joints and was excited to find Cetrone's on yelp with pretty decent reviews to boot. Pizza could be an every day thing in my diet, but for health and calorie reasons, it can only be a treat. We live a good 1/2 hour plus ride from this place so I fired up our home oven with anticipation of putting our goodies in immediately upon their arrival. (via my husband not delivery) Please note too, that the following taste test keeps that variable in mind. Being used to square cut pizza slices on thin crusts (Chicago style) it was nice to see that the same technique was applied at Cetrone's, The surprise was that their pizza was rectangular which kind of dictated the cut. Chicago slices round pies into squares, which makes for delectable crispy cheesy triangles that serve as a tiny tapas size taste of what is to come. Anyway, the sausage and mushroom pizza was tasty, it had a nice thin crust (wouldn't call it cracker but close), an appealing sauce, good cheese ratio and flavor, but I felt robbed with the other toppings. Mushrooms were delicious when you found one and the sausage totally played hide and seek as we could barely detect any existence of it on our palate. It must have been ground like beef, cause there was no visible sign of it. Chicago pies tend to use irregular shaped mini meatball sized sausage, that bursts with flavors of fennel and garlic. Nothing like that here. It can't be that difficult to throw on some chunks! We ordered a calzone too as it was recommended by a previous poster. It was good, but with flaws. The crust was great, but the stuffing of cheese, ham and vegetables was not cohesive. One bite would be delicious and the next had no flavor since the ingredients were not distributed evenly throughout. If the place was down the street, I probably might try it again. But keeping distance in mind, it's not worth the trek for us.

Even though they have a few seats, this is basically a carry out restaurant. I grew up eating pizza wheel and pizza oven pizza's, Citrone's sells the pizza wheel recipe pizza and does a great job with it so if that's what you like then this is the place.

I really love Cetrone's but must agree with what another Yelper said...you come here for the calzones. I have no idea what is in the crust but it is delicious. And you get to add up to three ingredients for one price and they are plentiful. I usually get ham, mushrooms and onions although I have been known to go the anchovy route once or twice. I also really like their marinara sauce. As to their pizza, I am evil when it comes to pizza ratings having grown up in New York and Philadelphia so I tend not to judge too harshly when not in one of those cities (or the surrounding burbs and parts of New Jersey), but I was "OK" with the pizza. My roomates always get the white pizza and swear by it. I tasted it and it is good---very, very garlicky---but not great. The red pizza (oh, and their "standard" pizza "wheel" is actually a square but it is not Sicilian style) is OK but I wasn't a big fan of the sauce which is odd because I like their marinara. In any case, it beats any chain like Dominoes or Pizza Hut. Tried a few of the appetizers and was underwhelmed...they do pizza and calzones, stick to those menu items. It's a family-run business that is full of wonderfully courteous and helpful people so they get definite props for that. They also accommodate folks with food allergies like gluten. I don't know if they do vegan pizza but will ask next time as I have some vegan friends coming into town soon. In any case, try the calzones for sure and their pizza is not a bad bet either. Prices are extremely reasonable for the amount of food you get, particularly with the calzones...which are huge.

mmmm Pizza. Cetrone's is the place for some great thin crust pizza. It tastes somewhat like Ledo's but better. This little restaurant is not much to look at but the pizza is super good. Now and then you can catch a local band performing in the dining area. Cute.

Very good Pizza and even better Calzone's. The cheese is really good, authentic and hard to find a really good fresh made pizza like this in the Metro area. Price is not bad either. ,

Centrone's was a great choice for my daughter!s birthday party. They were timely and the pizza sauce was excellent.

WOW, WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO THIS PLACE? New owners = Bad food and experience. They used to be great, but sold. They did okay for a while, but it has been going slowly downhill since. They are now at the bottom of the hill and no hope of making it back up. Previous owner of Cetrone's was great, was even better when it was Pizza Wheel, now it's just a greasy hole in the wall.

Located on a forgotten stretch of old Annapolis Road (the remains of a "redirected" stretch of MD450) in a forgotten strip mall that now houses a church among other things. The dining room isn't much to look at, although, they do have some great photos of Bowie and Prince George's county that will be of some local interest. Also, there is not much more on the menu I would order besides the pizza. There are neither chicken wings nor any other appetizers really. You can order a salad. Chopped Iceberg lettuce accompanied with the Ken's Salad Dressing packet of your choice. But the pizza... Not your typical pizza joint. Cetrone's makes a St. Louis style pizza sans the Provel cheese. It's a cracker crisp crust with a zesty sauce and loaded with fresh ingredients. There is nothing out of the ordinary about the toppings, but they are all of high quality. My partner and I resemble a pair of Dyson Vacuums when we eat pizza and that extra thin crust means you can gobble it down about as fast as it comes out of the kitchen. We like it simple. Good ole' Pepperoni or a Sausage and Mushroom pie will do nicely, thank you. If the lack luster dining room doesn't appeal to you, Cetrone's does deliver, and they do a huge carryout business. They have a dedicated following and you can count me among the believers. hardypartyreview.blogspo…

Did not live up to the hype... We excitedly ordered two large thin crusts from Cetrones, hearing that's it's better than Ledo's (which we love). We were not impressed at all. Our family typically kills a large Ledo's pizza, whereas with the Cetrone's pizza we had tons of leftovers! The crust is too light and bland, the sauce has no taste (my husband said he thinks it's straight from the can) and the cheese had a funny taste. It just wasn't as close to as good as we expected...
