Some friends stopped by last nite and brought two of Anthony's pizzas. Pepperoni on one and plain for the second. Delicious. All five of us agreed. So even though we've not actually visited or purchased, we will be using Anthony's again. As this was a Friday nite, these friends said there was a LOT of people doing carry out and dining in. Place hasn't been there long and to have that amount of clientele. Good sign.

I have given them their last chance, the fetucini Alfredo had no taste. The spaghetti and meatballs were average but the sauce was runny and the sausage had no taste, the salmon Arugula was runny and bland.

Like their pizza by the slice. Never had a full pie. Love the Crab Italiano!! Subs are okay. Nice people. Glad to have them in Bowie and at Free State.

I got the veggie calzone. Clearly they use frozen vegetables. The spinach and broccoli were still thawing out when I got home. The mushrooms were from the can. I do not eat at restaurants that use canned mushrooms. The vegetables were not seasoned and the lack of cheese was embarrassing. Until they improve the VEGETABLE CALZONE, take it off the menu!!! My husband got the deluxe cheese steak. The lack of cheese was embarrasing as well. Very little meat for the amount of bread. The onion and green pepper were non-existent. What a joke. Please don't open an Anthony's in Philadelphia. Guess you can get away with this crap in Bowie, MD. We also ordered the Italian Hoagie....not impressed. Poor quality of meat and very little meat for the amount of bread. BOWIE MARYLAND deserves better!

Dined on Feb. 12, 2014 Food: 16 inch (large) 3 topping pizza: mushroom, onions, green peppers. I went for the deal 3 combo deal where you get 3 ingredients but pay for two for $15.99. The Good: - Crust isn't bad - Large pizza - Pizza sliced so all sizes were pretty much the same - Not salty - Not greasy The Bad - Tomato sauce sparse, non-existent in some areas - Two mushroom halves on the entire pizza, and two areas that had 1 piece, and 2 pieces of what looked like minced mushrooms. Apparently the 3 combo deal isn't such a deal because I really only got two ingredients--green peppers and onions, the amount mushrooms was pathetic so of course you could not taste any mushroom on the pizza. Same with the pizza sauce, no tomato flavor at all because the sauce was so scarce. The pizza did have a great green pepper and onion tastes. And when isn't green peppers and onions a great tasting combo? In fact, the onions seemed like sweet onions. So in the end, I liked the green peppers and onions on some okay dough. I tried it, 99% sure I won't go back for pizza.

This place is amazing!! Closest pizza you will get to tasting like NY pizza. Calamari is also very delicious as is the Greek salad with grilled chicken. We usually go to Anthonys at least once a week. The whole family loves it. Very authentic good classic Italian food.

Just had my first disappointing meal from here. Ordered the Diablo Cheesesteak which was supposed to come with mayo, lettuce, tomatoes and grilled jalapeño peppers, and fries. Actually came with no mayo, tomatoes which would have been better served on a salad, and jalapeños that came straight out of a can. Oh, and NO FRIES! Hubby's cheesesteak was short on meat and barely any fries. My son's pizza was the only thing that was served correctly. Still tasted good, just disappointed. Spoke to the manager and he was very gracious of my "complaint". I know they're busy but I think the cooks need to slow down just a little to make sure the orders are correct and complete before bagging them to go. Definitely won't stop me from going back, will just have to double check everything before leaving next time.

I have to say the first time we ate here the dining experience was sort of a mess...they brought my husband the wrong food, the servers did not speak english so he decided to just keep what they gave him since it looked good. He was 5 bites in when they brought him his actual dinner...and took the other food away. I hope nobody else got that food! It was sort of a laughable experience but the food was good. Ever since then we have ordered take out a few times and the food is always ready on time and is always good. This place is a much better option than the chain Italian joints we have here in Bowie and I would recommend people have some patience with the dining room staff and enjoy the good food! The cannoli is delicious!!!

I have eaten in the restaurant 3 times and carried out a whole pizza once. The pizza was very good. The crust hand tossed, very NY style as in the name. Toppings were balanced and it had the right amount of pizza sauce. The crust had a little chew to it. The sandwiches are okay, the fillings come from the local food supplier and are nothing to brag about. The meat balls are spongy with little meat flavor or texture. I expected handmade meatballs, to the restaurant's credit they did tell me,when I asked, that they were not made in the restaurant. The veal in the veal parmesan sandwich was obviously precooked and frozen. The bread is decent. It is soft inside and crusty outside. The sauce on the other hand is very acidic and tastes like crushed tomatoes straight from a can. There appears to be no herb, garlic, onions or olive oil in the marinara sauce. The cheesesteak could have used more meat. All the sandwiches could use a little more meat to make them worth the money. Their house salad dressing is good and they always serve it on the side. Which works out great for those of us who do not want our salad swimming in dressing. The fries have been excellent for frozen fries. The calzone was very good and served with the pizza sauce which tasted as if it had been cooked more than the marinara sauce. I have not tried the pasta yet and will update my review once I try a couple pasta dishes.

Ate here a couple times en route to the daycare. Not bad, and not great. Definitely not the best pizza joint in Pg county.. if I really want good pizza and Italian I go to Franks.. Pizza Italia.. Again, food was decent, but I think its a bit overpriced.. They have clean bathrooms though.. Frank's doesn't..

I really liked the ambience of this place. Nice casual with low key Italian music. You order at the counter and someone brings you the food. There is also a drink station. They do not serve alcohol. I had the pizza and my husband had the lasagna. He said it was not your typical layered lasagna. It was served in a bowl and the consistency was too cheesy and had too much sauce. He said it tasted "good" but not what he was expecting. He would not order it again. The large pizza was served on a metal pan on a stand and unfortunately, by time we got to our 2nd slice, it was already getting cool. The pizza was very good with a crust that wasn't too thick and doughy. The sauce was also good with just the right amount of seasoning. We will go back to try some of their other offerings.

I don't know what these other reviews are about but my food was delicious. I had the pasta and my dad had a Philly cheesesteak. My dad said his food was delicious "that had to be the best Philly cheesesteak I've ever had" his exact words and he is EXTREMELY picky when it comes to food if it is of poor quality he will voice it and not quietly. About my pasta, it was great I could taste all of the flavors in the sauce and it tasted very authentic. I didn't strike me as your run of the mill pasta dish like Olive Garden. Over all great spot that we just stumbled upon I think you should give it a try.

I don't know how an Italian Resturaunt can exist with serving food without taste. It's all in the sauce and the sauce at this place is tasteless. Additionally, the subs are dry with low grade cold cuts and to much bread in the rolls. The best thing about this place is convenience. Bowie is the need of a great Pizza Place. Unfortunately, Anthonys is not it.

Ate there on the fly and it worked out perfect. Wanted food quick but better than fast food. They delivered, at a reasonable price. The restaurant is new and comfortable. You prepay for food, get your drinks and find your table. The food was delivered to our table fresh and hot from oven. I had the vegetable lasagna which was loaded with broccoli, as I prefer, and more than enough cheese. The noodles were ok, but the tasty sauce made you forget that. I had a side salad, which was crisp, with a variety of greens and decent proportion. The offerings of bread were lacking. Will definitely return. I give this place 3.5 stars

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
