Just like any other pei wei food and menu wise of course since they are a chain. Every time I have been the service has been good and everything comes out fresh and timely. I feel like they have changed the recipe of my favorite orange chicken, there used to be orange peel shavings in it and now I don't get that, anyone else feel this way too?

Meh. That about sums it up. Meh. I got the sesame vegetables & tofu. They deep fry their tofu or something. I didn't realize what it was at first. The taste and favorable texture were lost. The sauce was not remarkable but the veggies were cooked well so I ate it. Pros about pei wei: crab wontons are good. They have touch screen soda machines and two awesome flavors of fresh tea. I had some mandarin green tea. The service was prompt and friendly.

Very disappointing. We ordered take-away selecting Caramel Shrimp, extra shrimp and vegetables. Ginger beef also extra beef and vegetable. Dan Dan noodles, and the Chinese chicken salad. On line ordering was easy and great, though it was not ready at the scheduled pick up time. What impressed me most were the very small portions. The rice or selected noodles comes in the bottom of the container and the entree perched above it. Well, we pretty much got $13 rice entrees. I cannot imagine how small a small portion would be without any extra anything. The salad was tasty and fresh, the dan dan noodles were any thing but dan dan noodles. Aside from the very nice reusable carry-out containers, there really nothing to "take away" from this experience.

Stay away from this location. We ordered a chicken lettuce wrap, orange peel chicken, beef lo mein, chicken lo mein, and veggie egg rolls. The best thing?? The lettuce from the wraps. It took OVER AN HOUR and the place wasn't even busy. The lo mein tasted like it was cooked in syrup- even the meat had no flavor other than sugar. The orange peel chicken didn't have any orange flavor, but you could taste the sugar...the food was horrible and yet it took SO LONG for it to get to us AND it cost us over $40. Don't waste your time or money. I'd give this place no stars if I could, but I had to follow my conscience and hopefully spare others from this disaster by writing a review.

Great Mango Sushi tons of fresh shaved ginger, yum. Best lettuce wraps, huge portion and crisp fresh lettuce! Cheap Eats! Delicious!

Food is always fast and hot. Much better then other fast food asian chains. Basically same food as sister company PF Changs at a lower price.

I love Pei Wei - Great Size portions - Great food - you can get sauce on the side - great drink selection. : )

We've been here a few times - eat in and take out - and it has good food that is reasonably priced. We were driving home and wanted something quick since we figured our 1yr old would want to get out of the car ASAP, so we ordered online while enroute and were able to pick a time when we thought we'd arrive. Timing was perfect and I didn't have to wait. We ordered spring rolls, lo mein, and lettuce wraps that cost about $20 and were enough for 2 adults. We planned to arrive at 510 and noticed on the receipt that it was ready at 445, so they prepared it sooner than we requested. Parking for pick up is fine when it's not busy, a bunch of 10min parking outside the entrance.

I've eaten at Pei Wei six times now so I feel I can give a well informed review. When it first opened, I was pleased. The food was reasonably priced and perfect for mid-week lunches and dinners. The service was okay, but I didn't expect too much base upon the casual format of the place. After a year or so there has been a noticeable decline in the food and the service. During my last visit. I had to wait at the front counter to place my order because there was no one there. After one of the cooks noticed me, they yelled in the back for someone to get to the register. I had to chose my table based upon which one had been wiped clean despite the place being almost empty. I was hoping to have a minute with the egg rolls I had ordered before the Lo-Mein was served, but both dishes were tabled within 30 seconds of each other. While I was eating I heard a few F-bombs being tossed around by the staff despite the young kids seated nearby. The egg rolls were a bit greasy instead of crispy and the Lo-Mein was not as good as it had been during a previous visit. It's the service however that makes me not want to go there anymore. The staff just seems to be annoyed that customers are bothering them. Pity.

I'm baffled by the reports of bad food in some of the reviews. I've eaten here 3 times and each has been pretty delicious with a great volume of food and a good price. My sole complaint is the parking situation, which is horrendous because you have to go to the end of a long, narrow lot with no space to turn around if there are no parking places. The eggrolls are really, really good. And the brown rice has always come out perfectly cooked. I've tried several of their different dishes and I've been impressed -- definitely seemed to me to be up to PF Chang's standard with the price of Panda Express. It's my go-to Chinese restaurant right now and I'm always pleasantly pleased with the dishes...if I can find parking. Also, they take PF Chang's gift cards, so if you want to stretch that buck from a present, here's the place to do it!

Pei Wei is the Burger King of American Chinese food: rather bland and does not encourage repeat visits. I really looked forward to its arrival and I gave it a fair chance- having ordered a few selections as take-out various times. I recommend trying out the Jimmy John's next door (if you're in a hurry) or the Mexican place.

The food was good, but the restaurant was very dirty. The floor was sticky, tables were not cleaned/bussed and there was a stale smell in the air. The men's room was locked for some reason and the women's room was dirty with no tiolet paper. A very disappointing experience overall.

I tried this new location expecting the experience to be the same as the ones I've had in Columbia. Unfortunately, Annapolis Pei Wei was disappointing. We ordered the same dishes I've had many times in Columbia, only to find this location's flavors were off. The biggest disappointment would have to be the ratio of rice they served with the dishes. I would say dish was probably 80% rice! The staff needs help as well. The guy at the ordering counter was not mentally there - to put it nicely. I like Pei Wei much more than their other chain, P.F. Chang's, but I guess I'll have to stick with their Columbia location.

Pei Wei is a lot like a Fossil watch ************************************* When daughter comes home from college, we let her pick where we go out to lunch. That's how we ended up at Pei Wei Asian Diner. It reminds me a lot of a Fossil watch. Modern, stylish, and gets the job done at half the price of a comparable Guess timepiece. No complaints on the quality of the food which was comparable to PF Changs but at half the cost. Among the three of us we tried the Caramel Chicken Entree, Chicken Teriyaki Bowl, and the Honey-Seared Chicken Combo. Only complaint was they forgot about my wife's order. By this I mean the cook forgot to make it. They bring the orders to the table when they're ready, not all at once so you don't really know if one just takes longer. Daughter's came right away, Then mine ten minutes later, Then 15-minutes later comes my wife's with apologies. This means I had shared half of my plate by the time hers came. Perhaps the problem was that there didn't appear to be a floor manager checking on patrons or directing the kitchen. Will we give it another try? Sure but daughter will probably want to go to Noodles & Company or Panera Bread in the interim. To my fellow reviewers I'd say: the entrees are $6-8, the place has a nice, clean atmosphere, and like a Fossil watch, it doesn't try to be something it's not.

Food is great here and reasonably priced. The location makes it a bit off the beaten path but well worth it.

What started out as a nice little Asian carry out alternative, several visits in and a year or so later is quickly dropping like a stone. Incomplete orders, a host/cashier that seems disinterested. and letting customer orders sit, while the customer waits. That was kind of my experience. After placing an online order 2 hours in advance to be ready at a specific time, I got there onetime, and stood around watching a 3/4s empty dining room and a Cashier/Checker that simply did not want to be there. Roughly 30 minutes after my pick up time, I got my order. Yes, there were 2 other people waiting the entire time I was there, so too busy is not an excuse. The Food is losing it's luster too. The Wraps Chicken and Korean Beef (especially the beef) was so so at best, barely warm, and tasted like dog food. The Egg roll was ok, and probably the highlight. When I asked for extra sauce for the Lettuce wraps I had to remind the Cashier to do so only 10 minutes later, because he handed me my bag and my only request basically got a middle finger, or did not happen as I requested. Again,, too busy is not an excuse,, there was practically no one there.. I hope for their sake it gets better. My wife enjoys this place, but frankly I struggle to find the value..

Excellent Excellent Excellent. I love this place! *Note Counter Service Was so exciting Annapolis was getting one of these. Although parking is a pain due to construction if you find yourself over in the Towne Centre please stop by Pei Wei. The food is so fresh and delicious. Portions are great, and if you in the mood for a little bit of this, a little of that, try the combo meal. Some of my favorite - Mongolian Beef, Coconut Curry and the Sesame Chicken, Asian Chopped Chicken Salad. They even have a Gluten Free menu. Ordering online is great too and if you sign up for emails you'll often get coupons.

So glad Annapolis has a Pei Wei! I had been a frequent visitor at the Columbia location before I moved to Annapolis. I consider Pei Wei a somewhat healthier alternative to run of the mill Chinese food. Although Pei Wei is a subsidiary of P.F.Chang's, I do not expect the quality to be the same. Guess it is all an issue of expectation management. The service is a bit slow which was slightly irritating because there was only one other person ahead of me and my visit was not during the lunch time rush. The lady at the counter could have at least said "hello" or "I'll be with you in a moment" but this lack of courtesy has sadly become the norm

I have only been to Pei Wei once before, but my food on this visit (my second visit) was impeccable. Seemed like they were skimping on the chicken, but my food was fresh and hot which I really appreciated. It was also really tasty. The only complaint I have, is that two of the associates couldn't figure out who was going to bring my plate of food which I didn't really appreciate. Being that the food was hot and really good, I was able to look past that and enjoy the visit.

I love this restaurant for a fast, affordable and healthy lunch. There are not a lot of healthy lunch options in Annapolis and I get sick of the Whole Foods prepared food (and the prices). I tried Pei Wei recently and have been back multiple times. I love all the different options available, such as subbing noodles for rice and vice versa, adding extra veggies, or trying different protein options. The food is made to order in a wok and served hot (even with carryout when you get home it is still very hot). Also, I usually order a small entree and it is enough for 2 meals for me, so the price is amazing. The staff is extremely nice. The cashier gave me a free tea while I waited since the cook accidentally made my entree with egg noodles when I asked for rice noodles and he corrected them. I will keep coming back here, especially for carryout. They even have beer and wine although I haven't indulged yet. It would be cool if they had a better wine selection, then maybe I would.

I generally like PF Changs and Pei Wei. But tonight when I needed my take out order to be right and didn't have time to open every item to make sure it was right, I got home and no lettuce for my lettuce wraps. Irritating and disappointing. If you order from here, remember to check your take out BEFORE you drive away.

We had lunch at Pei Wei during a recent visit to Annapolis and it was similar to the experiences I've had at other Pei Wei locations. The food was good, the prices were reasonable, and there is basically no wait, especially when compared to P.F. Chang's. The service at this location wasn't terrible, but the staff was also not particularly friendly. I don't expect the waitress or the person working at the counter to become my best friend, but a smile or welcome would be a nice touch. I ordered the Pad Thai with Shrimp as my entrée and we also ordered the Chicken Lettuce Wraps as an appetizer for the table. The lettuce wraps were good, as always, and my pad thai was very good as well. The pad thai is cooked with a great variety of ingredients to offer a really fresh flavor. It was served in a massive bowl and I ended up putting half of it in a to-go box. I also had to save a little room for a couple fortune cookies, which always seem to taste better at Pei Wei than anywhere else.

I like healthy dishes so I order the entrees with sauce on the side and with brown rice,i stead of white. i have not been disappointed. Everything tastes good, food isn't greasy and it's a much better value than PF Changs (which has proven to be inconsistent). The service is good and the atmosphere is relaxing, my kids love to soda machine with the zillion flavors,

First time today at Pei Wei. Went with a friend, who said she had been to several in the past and they were pretty good. Today was not so great. Our spicy Korean dish we ordered was so salty we could barely choke it down. They put way too much sauce on our plates. After viewing other dishes from people sitting next to us...it seems as though ours was pouring with way too much sauce. Maybe the cook was having a bad moment when we went in. I don't think I would go back again though...we both feel like we swelled up like a walrus from it being so salty after we ate the small amount that we did.

I am mortified that I previously purchased a gift card for somebody for this place. My meal I had (several weeks after above mentioned gift card purchasing) was inedible. The Korean beef lettuce wraps were soo sooo terribly salty, they had to be illegal. Tasting my son's kung pao chicken proved the sodium level was just as lethal. I will say the INSIDE of the crab wontons were ok, while the won ton tips were charred. There is no way I will allow myself to ever serve my children this sodium on a plate again. NO WAY!!!

Good variety of pleasant Asian cuisine with a very nice contemporary atmosphere. Unfortunately, access to this restaurant is subpar to say the least (not their fault) . The parking situation at this location within the Annapolis Town Center is absolutely horrific for the restaurant tenants . Very limited parking options. Give this place a try , but be prepared to walk somewhat if you are driving.

I have to say that I really enjoyed Pei Wei from the ambiance to the food. I've been their twice now and had great meals both times. The first time I ordered sesame chicken and the second pad thai chicken. The food came out quickly and was hot and delicious. The ambiance is nice and laid-back with no one rushing you. If you want decently priced Asian food in a chill environment, then definitely try out Pei Wei.

I sooooo wanted Pei Wei to be good, but I regret even trying it. The foods that were supposed to be crispy, were completely soggy and the tofu tasted processed and was more like a poorly seasoned piece of rubber than food. The only saving grace was the young woman who helped us at the counter. Sadly we won't be back.

It's a warm, friendly place with great food for price. Parking -- well, it's just bad. Don't try to park near the restaurant as the parking is limited and very tight-- you'd be better off parking either across street near Chili's and walking over, or parking near Gordon's and walking. Parking not withstanding-- the place is a definite repeat.

Such a major disappointment. After hearing so much about Pei-Wei and having a friend who is a GM of a store talk about how good it is etc.. I was looking forward to giving it a try. The first time I went, I wasn't at all impressed, figured I'd chalk it up to being new. I had ordered my food extra spicy with extra meat and vegetables. There was hardly any meat, the sauce was no where near spicy and the veggies were undrained, so it was a liquid mess. I figured I'd wait and try again. Work purchased our lunch today, I was a little reluctant but was left with no choice, it was free. They say nothing is better than a free lunch, well... there is. I got the Korean BBQ or something. The mushrooms tasted like wax or plastic, like really like plastic. I thought it was me or maybe just one mushroom. After the 2nd and the smell of the 3rd, I tossed it out. Such a small amount of meat, more rice than the good stuff. So sad. I do not like P.F. Chang's either as it's a small amount of food for the hefty price you pay. No thanks.

Been here several times with mixed results. pseudo fast food Chinese chain - food adequate. Sometimes food floats in sauce, other times just right. Bit pricey for what you get. Keeping the restaurant clean seems at times a challenge for them. Tonight saw the top cook go to the bathroom with gloves and return to the line with same gloves - hope management addresses this after bringing to their attention or before a breakout of something like Hep a occurs! If you bring a quality issue to management , they are polite and quick to address. Yet as a chain - shouldn't these consistent food preparation issues be part of the norm for a chain. Agree with others parking can be a pain and will only get worse with new residents building being built on same alley.

Update: This place still doesn't bring food out in the right order or at the same time. I understand they probably don't want food sitting up there if they think it's ready, but it's unprofessional to bring out meals one at a time, minutes apart. Also, note that if you want an appetizer, you will get it after your meals arrive. This place was empty the other night and now I'm starting to see why.

This is my second visit to Pei Wei and I'm quite disappointed. The food is only so-so. I ordered a Pork Eggroll and Thai Dynamite Shrimp. The egg roll was dripping oil into the plate as I attempted to take the first bite, not a good sign. The Dynamite Shrimp was only very mildly spicy. The mustard sauce for the egg roll was likewise only mildly spicy not the horseradish flavor that I like. Very little interaction with the staff. The cashier that took my order also served the food. There were a couple of other staff cleaning the tables. I saw one other person deliver food to another table and it appeared he just sat the food on the table without ANY conversation. I food is overpriced for the quality. My Thai Dynamite Shrimp, egg roll and soda was $15.00. More than I pay for takeout and not as nearly as good. My first visit was about a month ago. I had the Pei Wei Spicy (General Chu) chicken with a spring roll. The food was much more flavorful and the spring roll wasn't drenched with oil. I'm really not excited about this place. Will I be back .... probably but not for quite awhile. I like to enjoy my food. This I did not enjoy.

I had a buy one get one free coupon so I decided to check the place out. It's a sister restaurant to PF Changs but not with the price tag. I ordered the shrimp lo mein which was cooked to perfection. I also enjoyed a spring roll that was oh so delicious., I would return here again with or without a coupon. I couldn't beat paying under $10 for two meals. My friend is very picky and she didn't have any complaints either which is a good thing.

"Edible" is about the only positive thing that I can say about my first order from here. Sesame chicken and orange peel shrimp didn't have the slightest crisp texture that one would expect and were instead mushy. I love P.F. Chang's lettuce wraps but the order of the same from Pei Wei was a huge disappointment. Overall made me not even want to eat at Chang's.

I have eaten here at least a dozen times without any issues at all. Service and food have all been consistently good. However today. I had ordered "To-Go" and when I arrived home, realized they did not get the order right. I called them and they apologized and offered to redo the order. When I arrived at the restaurant, not only did they have the correct order remade and waiting, the manager included a gift card to cover the inconvenience. This place apparently cares about its customers just like their parent company, PF Changs. If you're unhappy or disappointed they are willing to remedy the situation and I appreciate that.

Tried this place for the first time last week. No, it's not "really-truly" Chinese/Thai/etc. food; but for what it IS, it's quite good. I had the Thai Dynamite w/ shrimp; the menu said it was a spicy dish, but I didn't think it was terribly spicy. Of course, we're talking a chain restaurant here, so I didn't expect super-spicy. I'd have rather had more of the shrimp part of the meal and a bit less rice, but that's a minor detail; the veggies and shrimp were very good, veggies extremely fresh. Others in our party had the caramel chicken and the Mongolian chicken. We tried each others' food, everything was great. Only thing I wouldn't recommend was the chai tea at the drink bar, it didn't taste much like chai. The service was VERY fast and efficient, staff was friendly. All in all, a good place for a quick, casual meal.

This was our second time dining here at this new restaurant, and I must say, both times were excellent, and in fact, some of the tastiest food I've had at a restaurant like this. We were grubbin'. We had the dan dan noodles and Pei Wei Spicy. The food was very fresh and the ginger/garlic flavors from the sauce were popping. I talked to the guy that came by, and he said the snap peas and other veggies were from the Amish market and other farmer's markets in the area, so that made sense. Their two brewed teas they have were also amazing. The restaurant is brand new, so everything is clean, and they have cool new soda/ice dispensers. And for $6-8 a meal, you can't beat that.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
