Winning combination: Moist Brisket + mac n'cheese+ green beans seasoned with bacon Everything is made in house. They have about 8 different sauces for your meat. The exclusive Alabama Sauce made with mayo and horse radish The Sweetened brewed ice tea-Excellent! The cornbread was kind of dry I could have honestly went without it. But overall, this place is All Things Good!

Food was great. Prices were resonable. The cashier seemed as though she was in outer space. I ordered Baked beans and she didn't add them to my order. MY husband wanted some peach cobbler and she told him that they were sold out. No one greeted us when We walked in (I'm not sure if the reason was because We are black) everyone else that entered after us (Caucasian ) was greeted and welcomed in. My husband got back in line to order my Baked beans and some peach cobbler with a different cashier and guess what......they had peach cobbler. Smh. The kids high chairs safety straps were broken so my son couldn't really sit in the seat. I got the pork spare ribs with coleslaw, French fries,.baked beans, and peach cobbler. My husband got each cobbler, coleslaw, bake beans, and a Turkey sandwich.

I was SO happy when I learned that Mission BBQ was coming to Annapolis! I used to go to their Glen Burnie location during my lunch hour all the time. Plain and simply, their quality of food and absolutely amazing service brings me back time after time. I really can't say I've got something off the menu I didn't like. It's a very family style restaurant and they value our military which is another reason why I proudly support this restaurant.

Mission BBQ is a small chain with a few locations in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and North Carolina. They're focused on giving back to the community and having a strong sense of American pride. Not only are you enjoying great food, you can feel good about it too. When I'm hungover, a sandwich will usually do the trick. I had a friend visiting from out of town and she wanted pulled pork for lunch, combine that with my sandwich hangover cure - I knew exactly where to take her. We drove over to Canton for some of my favorite BBQ in the city. Unfortunately this was not on one of those warm Sunday's we have had recently so we had to eat inside. The establishment is filled with memorabilia from local colleges as well as a Maryland state flag and the US flag. The dining style is fast casual, you order at the counter and they call your name when the food is ready. The menu is small with only five sandwich options, but that doesn't make the food any less delicious. My friend who was craving pulled pork ordered the NC Pulled Pork which was a sandwich topped with coleslaw. She said this satisfied her craving but she just wanted to go back for more the next day, it was that good. She topped the sandwich with one of the amazing BBQ sauces that are offered. My other friend ordered the Turkey Sandwich. She said it was good once she added some BBQ sauce, however she prefers turkey sliced thin and this was not what she expected. I ended up ordering the Chopped Brisket which is marinated in their Memphis Belle BBQ sauce. I have no idea how long that meat marinated for but it was flavorful and delicious. The meat was tender and the roll soaked up all of the excess sauce. Some of the best brisket I've ever had. Then, there's the option to make your sandwich a combo with the addition of a side and a fountain drink. We each did this and got the fries. You are handed a generous portion of fries alongside your sandwich and they are delicious. They are skin on and just thin enough where they get crispy but still retain the potato flavor. I dipped mine in the Alabama sauce and it paired well. For great BBQ in Annapolis, make sure to visit Mission BBQ. The portions are large and the prices are fair making it a great deal.

The food was amazing! I was impressed by the establishment as a whole. The employees look happy and the manager checked in on us while we were dining. My kids loved the Mac and Cheese! We will be back!! Since our first visit we have been back twice. Mission BBQ has us hooked. I have tried the turkey, the brisket, the pulled pork, the chicken and we love it all.

First time at Mission BBQ and thoroughly impressed. I tend to prefer the small, local BBQ trailer over the chain restaurants but Mission not only is a local-based business (which I love) but it has its roots and continues to maintain that small BBQ-joint feel. The full-store tribute to America's heroes shows top-notch class as well. I will definitely be returning.

Good food and excellent service. The staff was happy to help you decide what you wanted. I ordered the meat sampler. Portions are kinda small for the price but overall it was good.

I was really excited to try Mission BBQ for the first time at this location. I was warmly greeted by a friendly staff member who explained the menu to me. When my food was ready, another employee kindly explained what was on my plate and recommended some various sauces that could complement the flavors well. I ordered the beef brisket, which was yummy and didn't have much fat at all - always a good thing. The mac n' cheese was good, as were the green beans. My favorite part of the meal, though, was the chesapeake barbque sauce they have on the table - which is a blend of bbq sauce and Old Bay. Yum!! The sweet tea was also really good. I give this place three stars because while it was just pretty decent. I kept going back and forth between 3 and 4 stars, but settled on 3 because of the music that was played. They play a really nice blend of patriotic songs that are hand selected to support the "mission" piece of Mission BBQ (which I think is great). But they played a few songs that were in the realm of offensive country songs that talk about how America is going to bomb our enemies... you know the kind of music. While I genuinely appreciate patriotic music, I found the country "Amurrica is better then youuuu" songs to be a bit much.

I can't believe that Yelper's only give this place 3 1/2 stars. I would call it 4 1/2 but rounded down because I only give 5's to the more upscale dining places. These guys (former Outback Steakhouse execs) nailed this place. Not only is the food better than perhaps any BBQ place I have been, but the décor, the service and the fast casual model work to perfection. I have been there three times for sandwiches and had the NC BBQ , the chopped brisket and the brisket and ALL well surpassed my expectation. Moist, succulent and delicious. the décor is just awesome as well. Lots to look at, all very professional, great seating style (mix of booths and family style tables) and just overall very well executed. Plus their theme is all about paying homage to our vets especially wounded warriors which is very commendable to say the least. What a great addition to the Annapolis BBQ scene, which puts Red Hot and Blue, Smokehouse and Adams Ribs to shame. check it out!!!! You will not be disappointed.

Excellent meal. Went here on a whim on the way to the mall and it turned out to be a great decision. We ordered the 2 meat plate, pulled pork Carolina style and wet brisket for me and pulled pork and turkey for my wife. We also ordered potatoe salad and mac n cheese. Everything was delicious. They have at least 8 sauces you can try, from Alabama white sauce to Tupleo Honey Heat. They have plenty of meats to choose from, we didn't even get around to trying the pulled chicken, ribs or sausage. Your meal can get a bit pricey if you're not careful as our meal for two came out to $27, about $7 in soft drinks alone. Overall they have great food, service and a nice casual atmosphere so it's worth it.

Let's start off by correctly categorizing this place, it is fast food restaurant that serves something that smells like and looks like barbecue. I walk into the store and quickly realize that it is military themed. I start off by heading to the counter to order. I patiently waited behind one of our fine service members. After he placed his order he asked the staff if they gave a military discount. To my surprise the staff replied "No we don't give that discount." So like any concerned citizen I kindly reminded the young lady behind the counter that "No sir, we do not give a military discount, but thank you for your service" would have been a better response. Concern #1: Is the fact that this restaurant is branded as a military friendly/military service oriented environment from the second you pull into the parking lot and then open the door. EVERYWHERE in the restaurant you will find military memorabilia, yet you don't give a discount. Sounds kind of unethical! You put military badges, jerseys, pictures, personal documents; all of these are intellectual property of either the members you acquired the information from or from the military. Did you get each and every person's permission to put copies of their likeness on your walls? COPYRIGHTS ARE NOT FREE. Concern #2: Let's talk about the food, I am a Texan, that has been relocated to Annapolis to support my current work assignment. For the last 20 years I have eaten the best BBQ in the world. I am a Brisket Pit-master, so after walking up to the counter I noticed that Mission BBQ has Texas Brisket on its menu. Texas barbecue traditions can be divided into four general styles: East Texas, Central Texas, South Texas, and West Texas. What Mission BBQ attempts does not fall into any off these styles. They use oak (which is also used in Texas, more traditionally Post Oak in Central Texas), but they smoke the meat too long causing the meat to be dry and flavorless. I have always told, (by some of the best Pit-masters in the world) that BBQ sauces are not a requirement for good BBQ. Yet, Mission BBQ has at-least 7 sauces, and another 5 or 6 condiments to add flavor to your meal. Lets now talk about price. Franklins BBQ in Austin, Texas that was awarded the #1 Texas brisket last year in the entire US. They charge $20.00 a pound for brisket, John Mueller Meat Company in Texas charges $18.56 a pound. Why do you (Mission BBQ) feel that you can charge $16+ a pound for brisket that is dry and flavorless. Also, I ordered green beans and got beans right out a can, and they were so over cooked that I could not even eat them. I love trying a new restaurant as often as the next guy, but this place misrepresents itself as a real BBQ joint. It is nothing more than a Famous Dave's BBQ. Also, remember, if you have to add BBQ Sauce to brisket, then it is not good brisket. Buyer beware, it is .5 stars worth of BBQ. If you want the closest BBQ that taste like TexasBBQ then head to Hill County Meats in DC. Don't waste your time or money at Mission.

I tried this place over the weekend. The BBQ was good and my 11 month old LOVED the pulled chicken and string beans. I just wish you could place your order at the table. Its more convenient for parents with small children. The banana pudding was the best I've had! Mac and cheese was OK, but I enjoyed the brisket and green beans. I would return.

Service, speed and atmosphere deserve more than two stars and I love their passion for supporting first responders and Wounded Warriors. The manager was definitely out on the floor chatting it up and making sure that everyone knew their story which is awesome. Food quality is meh. Sorry. I've eaten BBQ around the world and I just can't say that I loved it. My meatloaf was way too salty and there wasn't any fat to soak up so not sure why it was served on bunny bread. The sides I got were also meh. My husband's corn bread was hard and dry. His potatoes taste like a roux that wasn't properly prepared (i.e. taste like flour). I wish I could give a more positive review because their mission (no pun intended) is unbeatable. They just need to work on their product. What IS up with no potato salad?

I used to frequent the Glen Burnie location before this one opened in Annapolis. They have the same great service and quality BBQ. My favorite is the lean brisket sandwich and fries. The bun is a very important component of any sandwich and I love the brioche buns. I've had their mac and cheese and smoked turkey from a catered event at work and they were both pretty good. Inmay switch up from my usual and order those next time. Be sure to sign up for their emails, I've received 2 free sandwiches since joining this past summer.

Oh how I've been salivating at the thought of going back! We stopped here on our way to the beach last month. The brisket and turkey were both dry rubbed smoked and equally good. The portions are huge! And the price is reasonable for what you get. The macaroni and cheese was the perfect side. The green beans were a wasted order as they were a little grainy and not as great as I hoping they would be. The salads have 4 oz of meat which was a more typical portion for me and was still plenty filling. Can't wait to go back again! Just wish there was one closer to us in Gaithersburg.

Wow, totally packed by noon on a Monday, seems Annapolis was in need of another BBQ option. While waiting in line we were greeted and even provided two sample from the menu. At noon, the place come to a halt for the National Anthem. A cute nice touch. As busy as it was there was plenty of staff. The line moved quickly. We tried nearly everything on the menu. Our favorites were the cheesy sausage and the turkey. The brisket offered as "lean" or "moist" was best moist though the seasoning is very light. Your going to need some sauce on the brisket to make it decent. We were less impressed with the ribs and the pulled pork. The mac and cheese was gooey and stringy in a great way and the cole slaw fresh and perfectly dressed.

We got there after 11am, when they just opened. One of the cashier was insane and with a smile on her face yelling at guests in the line to be served with her. They didn't get it so I left my cashier and went to her so she was able to calm down. We ordered the sample plate, so dry meat. Obviously it was sliced already. At least each table has 6 sauces so it's not so hard to eat. Btw we ordered brownies and never received them

Can I just say wow!!! 5 stars across the board for food quality, service, speed, atmosphere and philanthropy!!! I was able to attend during a charity event and everything we ate was so tasty! I've had Mission BBQ previously but I'm so excited it has come to Annapolis! Both styles of the ribs are to die for (Bay-B-Back and spare)! Talk about fall off the bone!! Seasoned well and smoked to perfection...they don't even need sauce but there are 6 fun sauces to choose from...I like mixing the Memphis Bell & Smoky Mountain for a sweet, smoky mix! Served with a slice of sweet, moist cornbread! Nom! And omg, the smoked turkey!!! I wouldn't normally order turkey at a BBQ joint but it's surprisingly and insanely good!!! Extremely MOIST and flavorful! Great for any non red meat eaters dragged in by their carnivorous friends (like myself haha). You can order it solo, as a sandwich or on salad! And as for service! I felt like I was being welcomed into an old friend's home. The staff was so courteous from the time I opened the door to the time I left. They even walk around to all the tables to talk, clear the tables and even refill drinks! This is not what I normally expect from typical fast food joints. The line was a bit long (good sign in my opinion) but it moved quickly and by the time I paid for my meal, they were already calling my name for pick up! I love the decor and how it's all donated from local heroes whether it be police, firefighters, military, etc. I also respect how much they donate to our heroes. Great company. So happy to see consistency in this new location!!!

The idea works, right? I mean that this should work. Execute the formula in a military town and it should work. It didn't. A friend of the founding owners recommended that I should try it. There was high praise and much fanfare. So for an Easter celebration I brought my family for dinner. I told the nice lady behind the counter that this was our first time there and we would need help ordering. The children's options were incredibly non-existant. Mac and cheese servings the size of a salad dressing cup and a whole sweet potato the size of a football. Water from the fountain dispenser because milk wasn't an option apparently. How was this remotely appropriate for a three-year-old? I politely agreed to a sampler dish of chicken, pork, and briscuit. My clearly starving child quickly eyed my cornbread, but not without playing it as a small drum on its clearly overcooked side then dryly devouring it using the butter that was supposed to be for the sweet potato. The pork was perfect, the briscuit was heavenly, and the chicken was more steamed than cooked. I guess two out of three means things are good enough? That's not what the walls were telling me. The portions were small probably because the bottom half of the portion ing device used left an awe-inspiring print on my food and the bottom of the spoon-like device was regrettably air. Still, it was served holding this shape that would raise an alarm in the minds of any who would look upon its visage. The portions were small. The bill was large. Yes, I went there.

I approached this place knowing not to expect award winning bbq, as that is truly an art form and it is difficult to recreate in a chain setting. Nevertheless, we really liked the atmoshphere - rustic and lively. We decided to split a brisket sandwich with fries. I loved that there were no plates, just brown paper on a tray, encouraging folks to just dig in utensils or not. We also appreciated the six different sauces available at each table. We sampled almost every one, and it was a nice collection for sure. I ended up mixing two and the result was great. I thought I would hate the old bay red sauce but it ended up being my husband's favorite. Nice depth of flavor, and not overwhelmed by the ubiquitous Chesapeake spice mix. I was impressed with the amount of brisket that ended up on our brioche looking bun. It was a medium cut, tender albeit a bit dry. But the sauces helped to dampen the meat, so in the end it was a tasty sandwich and one I would enjoy again. I'm not a fan of fries with seasonings or coatings, but theirs had such good potato flavor, that I ended up not noticing the added ingredients. This place is obviously never going to be in the category of some of the better known BBQ masters in Texas, Tennessee, Chicago, or the Carolina's, but we think it's a nice addition to the Annapolis dining scene.

First timer and found the turkey moist and tasty. Partners 1/2 Ribs good as well. Sides - coleslaw, fries, to salty green beans, - all so so. Sound level - high so hard to have a conversation when crowded. Patriotic theme - police, fireman, military - all good. What struck me in a city that is approximately 35% other than white, a restaurant only has (granted I've only been there once) white counter people and primarily Latino cooks and the only Af-Am was cleaning tables. Of the many pictures of fireman, policeman, and the military - I found one picture of a Af-Am (no other 'minority'). I'm not saying the ownership or management is racist yet certainly in my judgement not socially conscious. Just a place that I don't want to do business with, I and my money votes elsewhere. If ownership wants to become more conscious - send me an email.

I went to the mission Barbecue in Columbia with my wife. The folks there are very friendly, And due to this being my first time here. Someone took the time to explain to be the different variety's that they offered. Service was fast and everyone was very professional. It was a little expensive but, well worth it. Also it was a great place for Vets and there family's to come and feel at home.

Bottom Line: You can cure your BBQ craving at this patriotic themed restaurant but some dishes seem better than others. I've spent a considerable amount of time reading reviews for Mission BBQ and various other barbecue joints in Maryland and I've decided that there are some tough critics out there! I think we live in a place that is serious about its barbecue and personal opinions run deep but that is ok with me. My father smokes brisket and has an award winning BBQ sauce named after my sister, so I too know what I like. I hope this review will help you in determining if Mission BBQ is a place you want to try. Here are the basics: - You order at the counter and then find a table. Your name is called and you go get your food at the counter. Food comes up fast. If it's really crowded, you might have to wait for a table. Drinks are self-serve. Products on fountain are Pepsi. There is iced tea too. - This place gets packed and is loud too. In fact, I had to shout my order to the cashier which was unpleasant for both of us. - Tables come loaded with paper towels and sauces. - There are staff members that roam around to check on tables, which are much appreciated. - I recommend eating the food there as it loses its texture in a to-go box. Here is what I like about Mission BBQ: - There's no denying the coolness of a theme that honors war heroes and first responders - They have some good food. Some items are just good and others are really good. My favorite thus far is the pulled chicken sandwich. - About those sandwiches, I think the rolls they use have a great texture and buttery flavor. - The variety of sauces is awesome. I spend the first five minute of every meal trying them. I recommend getting an "unsauced" sandwich. - I'm not a French fry person, but the fries here are awesome. Fresh cut and seasoned with salt and pepper. - The décor is inspiring. - I love that they play the national anthem at noon. Sandwiches: So far, I've only tried a few sandwiches here. I like getting a sandwich that doesn't have sauce so you can add your own and I recommend this for others. In case it helps with your selection, here are some notes on the sandwiches: - Brisket: This is sliced brisket that you can order moist (fatty) or lean. I recommend throwing caution to the wind and getting the moist version to get more genuine brisket flavor. - Chopped Brisket: As indicated by the name, this is chopped bits of brisket that have been tossed in the Memphis Belle sauce which is too heavy and sweet for me. - Pulled Chicken: My favorite so far. Lightly seasoned and tender, piled high and ready to absorb the sauce of your choosing. Sauces: Regarding the sauces, it's best if you get in there and experience it for yourself. There are about seven to choose from - a six pack on the table and then a separate bottle of North Carolina vinegar based sauce. Truthfully, I didn't love any of the sauces but thought they were fun and good. I gravitate towards NC vinegar sauces but theirs didn't do it for me. On my most recent trip I opted for the Smoky Moutain. A Few Last Thoughts: - More than one Yelper, at more than one Mission BBQ, has commented about the lack of a military discount. Initially, I agreed with this, but then I started thinking, where would they draw the line? Active duty, reservists, retired, dependents? What about first responders? All first responders? Just AA Co. first responders? Hmm, it seems like that could get complicated. I also thought I'd be ok with a small price hike to pay for those military discounts. Then I started thinking, if they are making charitable contributions to WWF, USO, Honor Flight, etc., then does it make since that they'd also offer a discount? And do they make charitable contributions to those places or just sponsor fundraisers? Anyway, I don't know the right answer to this common gripe so no strong opinions or judgment from me (even as a former military spouse). I just hope that employees at Mission do take the time to thank the service person inquiring about the discount for their service. - Mission BBQ seems to frequently close for private parties. It such a drag to get there to find I've been locked out. I'm not sure if these private parties are charity events or something else, but it's always a buzz kill!

Delicious! The turkey sandwiches and brisket are always moist and flavorful. I love their BBQ sauce options. My son loves their Mac & Cheese so no complaints there. Staff was always super friendly when they first opened, but I've noticed lately now that sometimes the staff is a little "gruff" and not always the most helpful. Very happy Mission BBQ opened a shop in Annapolis!

Brisket sandwich with the memphis smoke sauce was better than I expected. I returned a second time and was disappointed they didn't have Peach Cobbler. (Yeah, it's that good!). I'm definitely a fan but c'mon Mission, I would've given four stars if you only had the cobbler.

I'll be somewhat brief - as a Kansas City Barbeque Society certified judge and knowing that restaurants aren't 'competition' Q my first visit to this location still fell way short. Only tried the "St Louis" style ribs and mac n cheese to run a simple benchmark. Operating my own smoker at home and commercially and having been to Austin TX I'm a little bit jaded on BBQ in our area. I'd been to Mission in Columbia and the results in Annapolis were no different. Service was attentive as another reviewer put it but I felt scripted and insincere. I don't need much - take my order - please - thank you - have a great day. Staff is clearly being coached ala "Welcome to Wal-Mart". Unnecessary. Ribs that I got didn't really seem to be St Louis cuts to me so I might have gotten baby backs by mistake but didn't bother to pursue that issue - doubt the gal that took my order knew the difference anyway (do YOU know the difference dear reader/reviewer???). Seriously overcooked (as in fall of the bone which is NOT correct done-ness despite what Chili's advertising tells you). They were also very wet but not from sauce but I think from sitting in stacks for many hours possibly even overnight. No detectable smoke ring at all meaning they might be 'enhanced' with liquid smoke. In a competition they'd have been disqualified without taking a bite on visual inspection alone. Mac n cheese was very good - not terribly remarkable - but good. Macaroni was cooked right not mushy and the cheese sauce was a good consistency but not terribly flavorful - not sure what kind of cheese it was. Non sandwich orders come with cornbread - again not bad - but unremarkable. We did get free samples while in line and servers came by to bus our table. 2 stars - because, oh yes - I've had better. They will no doubt be successful as most reviewers / consumers will consider this good "Q". It's not - but if you like it - well that's all that matters right? Doubtful I'll return myself. Red Hot & Blue remains best Q joint we have in Annapolis aside and it's hard to match their high quality consistency. Mission doesn't have potato salad which is weird. Bottom line Mission is quantity over quality like most places. Satisfies hunger but doesn't cater to any true Q connoisseur... Not remotely humbly submitted this day, D. Food Snob, Ph.D. (excessive use of 5 stars makes me not read your reviews)

Yesterday I ate at Mission BBQ in Annapolis. My pulled pork sandwich and macaroni and Cheese were supper tasty! The brisket was terrible!! I am a weekend BBQ'er and I am pretty sure they are using an piece of beef that cut like it should be corned. It was not moist, just had a lot of gristle running through it. Again the pulled pork was good and the Mac and cheese was MONEY! After ordering we all stood jumbled up at the end waiting for our food so that was confusing as well as annoying. The restaurant was really clean and the service was friendly. It would be nice for those who are new, the cashiers explain the menu and how it works. I recommend them asking if you have been here before since it is a newer concept.

I've been here more than a few times and tried the moist beef brisket sandwich, both types of ribs, & the Darngood turkey sandwich. The sandwich portions are great though the moistness and temperature of the beef has not been consistent. Turkey was great and I will definitely get that again. Ribs were nothing to write home about. The baked beans had no brisket and tasted burnt while the small piece of corn bread was stiff as a rock. Cheesy potatoes and the seasonal sweet potato mash were the only sides I liked. Their sauce options are unique and most taste really good. I plan on trying the pulled pork sandwich and apple pie next time I'm there. There is a separate register for carry-out orders which helps though wait times can vary since the place gets busy for lunch. Go to Mission if you are hungry and craving a big bbq sandwich. It's way better than other bbq options in Annapolis.

I love Mission BBQ! You are greeted from the moment you walk in and everyone is very friendly. The menu is clear and easy to read. I'm not really a BBQ fan but this place has me hooked. The brisket is amazing every time and perfect paired with the Mac and Cheese and Coleslaw. The sauces are fantastic but my favorites are Smoky Mountain & Alabama White. This place does not disappoint.

I decided to give this place a try, since I was craving BBQ. Its a cute place, great representation of the giving back. Overall not truly impressed with the amount of food that I received. I ordered two sides and three meats figuring that $36 worth of food would be a nice amount for two people...I got Three small slices of turkey, three small slices of brisket and half a smoked chicken and two sides....just felt the amount and one slice of cornbread were not enough for two people. It will not be a place that I will find myself going for BBQ at this point. They should come up with a menu that is suggested that feeds: Two, Three and Four people add some extra protein and also some suggestions and maybe with a different price point families would utilize it as a takeout more often as a family meal. I will wait on this restaurant until its more settled.

I kind of want to give this more stars because there are no real good options for barbecue in the area. This steps in and is by far better than most I have tried around here, so that's good. Unfortunately, I just can't go past three stars. I got the sliced brisket, a favorite of mine in general. The meat was tender and the slices and portions were a good size, but it was a little bit dry. I reached for the complement of sauces to try and remedy it, but none of them were particularly good. Having lived in Kansas City, I take some exception to what they called the KC Classic sauce, as it tastes nothing like Kansas City to me. It actually tasted quite a bit closer to something I would put on tacos. That sauce and most of the rest seemed to hit the vinegar quite a bit more than some of them should. For the sides, I had the fries and tried some of the beans, the fries were good, the beans less so. Still, if you're out in the area, it's not a bad place to get some barbecue. Just not great.

Delicious food, attentive and fast service, A+. Honestly, I have a fondness for comfort side-dishes, so they had me at macaroni and cheese. I find I prefer to order platters here vs. sandwiches as to ditch the bread and have more room for the delicious sides. Good addition to the Annapolis food lineup.

Important to note that there is no table service. Order at the counter, wait for your food then hope to find a seat. The place was totally packed. Atmosphere was good - great decorations depicting the mission with local accents. I am not a BBQ expert but the food was quite good. They offer moist or lean brisket. And the moist is moist and tasty. Many types of BBQ sauce which were fun to sample. Mac n cheese was a very good side. Pulled pork was average. Portions on the small side but prices are reasonable and we left full. Generally like full service for dinner but would probably return for a lunch.

Tried Mission for the first time this weekend and was impressed. The sliced beef brisket sandwich that I had provided a good amount of tender brisket, and the bun it was served on was soft and worked well. I got the mac and cheese which was creamy and tasted great. The fries were also cooked just right. Service was friendly. Six sauce options on the table and I sampled all of them, but really enjoyed the Memphis Belle. The Bay-B-Que, and Tupelo sauce were also tasty. So what could get this to a 5 star level. Well, a few little things. The options for sides seems a bit limited. This is probably due to the fact that I am more familiar with Dickey's menu and their side options are close to double what Mission has. It would also be a nice touch if the staff brought your food to the table. The restaurant was crowded when I went and people waiting for their orders kind of clogged up the area and spilled over to the soda machine area, which in turn made it more difficult for a lot of people. The man calling out names had to shout some diners names more than once because the sheer number of people prevented him from being heard. Sitting down and having the food brought would solve most of this. Finally, forks/knives should be located with all of the other items needed for dining. Overall a very enjoyable experience, and I'll go back.

It's hard to find good BBQ in the DMV, but Mission BBQ is pretty good for a chain. I've had take-out from the Glen Burnie location a couple times, and although the brisket and beans survived the trip home, I really really recommend eating the food hot & fresh in the restaurant if its not packed inside. Like a couple others have said, the texture definitely changes in the box. The baby-back ribs are definitely my favorite if I have time to sit down.

Franchise BBQ at its best! It's not going to blow your mind but it'll scratch the itch. Staff is friendly and they have a corporate like system to serve guests so you'll be treated well. It's like going to California Pizza Kitchen for pizza. You'll walk out thinking "Man, I should have gone to that local mom and pop place instead."
