Cha Cha Chicken Menu

New or at least in August 2014, looks just like Lima on West Street but I think it's cheaper and has better sides to offer. The chicken ark meat was great, but the white meat was too dry for me. Skip the mac and cheese, it was over cooked and tasted powdered, though the capatavi was a nice choice. The tostones were rocking' even if they had sat on the line and been steamed all the way home. The obligatory yellow and green sauce like Lima came in the shame sheepish micro cups. Ask for a few, you will need them and quite frankly they are both good.

Hidden gem. Cheap. Quality ingredients. Nice interior. Can't wait to go back next time in area for a quick bite

Very unfortunate experience. I had great hopes for Cha Cha Chicken. Will a bit spare, the interior only served to raise my hopes. It is clean and tidy and while a little industro-cafeteria actually quite nice and comfortable. The young lady behind the counter was very pleasant. I placed a carry out order for their 1/4 chicken and roast pork entree with fried plaintains and mixed vegetables and three shredded pork tacos. At home we discovered no chicken in the chicken and pork entree. The pork was extremely fatty and generally unpleasant. After a six minute drive home all wrapped up in styrofoam the pork was cold. It could not possibly have been hot coming out of the kitchen. The plaintains were soggy. The mixed vegetables were bland; they could well have been a frozen vegetable mix of carrots, broccoli and cauliflower direct from the bag to a microwave. The pork tacos were very average and even as such were the high point of the "meal." I will return only to get some accommodation for the missing chicken.

Nice and clean, friendly smiling staff, the chicken is as good as Sardi's, green beans good, too. Rice and black beans had great flavor but could use a stickier/fluffier white rice, mine got a little soupy. Their green sauce is spicy but lacks that creamy guacamole avocado consistency you get with other Peruvian chicken joints. Bottom line; this place hits the spot if you need a Peruvian chicken fix!

Well let's start off by saying this is not your normal Peruvian chicken joint. Cha-cha chicken has a little bit of everything on the menu. Tonight I decided to go with a half chicken with yucca fries and green beans. The chicken tasted great but, was a little dry and one the small size. The green beans, although a large portion size, was cold to the touch and undercooked. But the saving grace was the extra-large size yucca fries that had just come out of the cooker and were bubbly hot. The yucca fries were crispy but not overcooked and combined with the white and green sauces were the star of my meal. This is one place I would recommend you venture out and give a shot, but deafly come after 530 when the rush makes it through the front door, this will ensure that you get warm food. I showed up around 5 o'clock and noticed there was very little steam coming off the steam table and the food look like it had been around all afternoon. All in all it was a nice dinner in a clean environment, with little to no distractions. Great value for the dollar.

Lomo Saltado is ridiculously tasty (even though not traditionally peruvian)...and the chicken rocks. This is a real treasure with a super clean dining room, friendly staff, and fun decor. Inexpensive, and REALLY yummy dishes. Don't let the exterior dissuade you from trying a great spot. And as a bonus is an ice cream joint next door that makes their own delicious ice cream.

Fresh, made to order food. I had a Torta Milanese de Pollo. Tomato, avocado, breaded chicken, lettuce, bean spread and quest fresco. I had never had a Torta roll, but I liked it. The decor is bright and colorful. Everything appears to be clean. I'll definitely come back to try some more off the menu.

Nothing great but not bad either.. im annoyed with the service.. no o e was outwardly rude.. but it was automatically assumed that my order was to go.. I was never asked if it was eat in or to go. I pay for my food and collect my receipt.. and sit in that stalls.. they yell out my order . And its wrapped in a bag.. its then I notice everyone else (everyone is the other individual in the restaurant) has numbers and the staff is bringing their food out. I ordered chicken and waffles.. I asked the last for dark chicken.. she said it came with tenders.. sooo this placebis know for its peruvian charcoal chicken.. but im getting tenders.. they were ok.. the waffle was good..nice and buttery.. If I were in the area I may stop by again... but I might not..

The only reason I'm giving this place 3 stars is because they got rid of their Peruvian potato salad. I only got a chance to try it once and it was AMAZING. Their wings are pretty tasty and so are their tortas. Take out is quick (unless there's a line at the restaurant). They give you plenty of sauces to try with your chicken. The staff is really friendly and it's a cool place if you want to stop by for a quick 'no frill' lunch.

First time trying tonight and was disappointed. I was looking forward to the fries, but they were cold and limp. The chicken was seasoned but kind of dry. The green beans were ok, but nothing special. Needless to say that I won't be returning. I really wanted to enjoy the food because the location is great for me. It was an experience...

The majority of the time this place is amazing. The food is well-priced and the roasted chicken is always great. Other things can be hit or miss. For example, one day I ordered the fried chicken tenders, and was served fried chicken cutlets. I don't know if they were simply out of tenders, or trying to save money, but that didn't earn them any points with me that day. The salad and house dressing is amazing, but other sides can also be hit-or-miss such as the mashed potatoes which tends to almost be the consistency of slop (watery). Overall, it's great if you know which items to avoid.

I've had my eye on this place ever since it opened and finally gave it a shot. I was in and out fairly quickly after placing my carry-out order. I got 1/4 dark chicken, mac&chz and sweet potatoes. I was surprised at how good the chicken was, the sweet potatoes were also tasty and the macaroni was good but pretty basic (would compare to Boston Market). Definitely not the healthiest of foods but nice to have the option when you're craving it. There's nowhere else really like it on Forrest Drive so I think it's a nice edition to this side of town.

I love this place--it is not perfect, by any means, but I already know it is going to be my go-to place for take out lunch and dinner on my way home. Let me explain: It was probably not wise of me to go on their first day of opening, but we have all been waiting so long (the sign went up a year ago) I could not resist. There are now 3 of these Peruvian chicken places within a short distance and I was not impressed with the one on West St. and the one on Chinquapin is too difficult to get to. This one is perfectly located with a nice size parking lot. I decided to get a sampling of several items and I was not disappointed by any of them. The half chicken was delicious--moist, flavorful with a nice chargrilled skin. My only suggestion would be a bit of restraint on the seasoning. There was about a tablespoon of rub under the skin and it was somewhat overwhelming to the flavor of the chicken. I ended up scraping some of it off. The wings are not what I am used to--they are chargrilled rather than crispy fried. But, that being said, they were wonderful. I opted for the Zesty Bourbon sauce and next time I will try the sriracha ones. Also, I am not sure the dip was blue cheese because there were no chunks of cheese in it. However, I am not a big fan of the chunks and I found the dip to be thin but wonderful--I sopped it all up with the very fresh celery sticks. For sides, I tried several: the cole slaw was wonderful, in fact, in my opinion it is a contender for best in town. It was hand cut style with nice thick slices and a flavorful sauce that did not overpower. The salad is a chopped Romaine with some tomatoes, red onion, and cucumber. Nothing fancy but quite generous. I did not get a dressing because there was no special house made option that appealed to me--I'll use my own. The macaroni and cheese was very good. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce was just the right amount and mild. This will appeal to both adults and kids and if you want to spice it up, just add some srirachi sauce... The mashed potatoes are not the typical American (or should I say French?) version of cream and butter. I suspect they are made with chicken stock--still, very tasty. The mixed veggies consisted of cauliflower, carrots and broccoli. I'm pretty sure they are from frozen, but still, cooked nicely and flavored well. The fried rice was very good too-not the Chinese style, but peas, carrot chunks and a light sauce. All in all, for an easy, quick, not too expensive and delicious take home meal, I would say pretty darn great... Now, here's the not so good. While this place is spanking clean (amazing given what this building looked like a year ago...) and gives off a happy, happening vibe, it is LOUD! Very, very LOUD! There are 4 tv sets going in a small room, the acoustics are terrible and the ordering area does not work well at all. You have to yell at the server over a glass partition. She couldn't hear me, I couldn't hear her. In addition, there was somewhat of a language issue and bottom line is that it was very awkward and uncomfortable. I think next time I go, I will have my order written on a piece of paper and just hand it over. I don't think I would ever eat inside--it's just too much of a din. I am a big, big fan and hope this place is very successful!

A convenient place if you live on the Annapolis Neck and want to pick up some decent Peruvian chicken on the way home or for lunch. The prices are reasonable and the food is decent... but not nearly as good a Lima's Chicken out on West St.

We ordered take-out twice. We love it! Definitely get the chicken. We only order dark meat, and both times it was cooked to perfection, with flavorful skin and moist meat. The plantains are the best I've ever had. We ordered extra the second time, they are so good.We also love the loaded mashed potatoes and roasted sweet potatoes. They are both full of flavor! My son enjoyed the teriyaki chicken wings. Ask for extra sauces. Both the jalapeno and mustard/mayo sauces are great. Carne asada and pork bonitas are good, but not as good as the chicken, which is the star of this place!

Disappointed. Place is super cute and staff was super nice and attentive BUT the food was awful. My husband and I went on Saturday night and ordered the carnita Bonita with a side of yuca and Mac n cheese and teriyaki wings. Our pork had ZERO flavor... It tasted as if the just boiled it in water and threw in some onions and green pepper... I really think they forgot to add seasoning. My yuca was mushy with no flavor and just looked sad. Mac n cheese also had no flavor. Our wings where meaty n crunchy but overkill on the teriyaki. I really really wanted to love this place...

After three visits in two weeks, I have to say I am addicted to their chicken. (Some of the sides are fantastic, too!) First, the chicken-- nice crispy skin deliciously seasoned ( I think just right-- not too much at all!). I usually go for dark meat but the breast is moist and flavorful, too.. Plantains are caramelized to perfection-- some of the best I've ever had. The green beans are done just the way I like them, sweet potatoes were fine. The loaded mashed are tasty, but not as rich as I like (think chicken broth base instead of milk or cream). Brought my nephew who got the orange chicken- it's very sweet (just like the Chinese version), but they use white meat chunks instead of the usual thigh meat, which elevates it some. He loved the Mac 'n cheese. A quarter or one half meal comes with 2 sides which makes it a very solid dinner deal. The folks behind the counter are friendly (if a bit distracted sometimes). Glad they're in my part of town. No more grocery store rotisserie for me-- not when I can have this stuff!
