Fantastic little place on the Cape. Small menu... But, very well done. Service is friendly and the chef is excellent. This place is truly a neighborhood gem.

I went for dinner and was less than impressed. The hummus starter was bland. The burger was unseasoned and overcooked. The shrimp and grits was way over priced. It is &12 for 2 small shrimp and about 4TBS of grits. While seasoned well the price is outrageous. The service was incredibly slow for such a small place. If your claustrophobic please avoid. If you like practically sharing a table with strangers try it! The bread was good. The desserts were over priced. About 5 small beignets were $7. The menu is trying too hard for a small cafe in a strip mall and falls short.

I live in Cape and never really never noticed the blue rooster because it's tucked away between a pizza place and a bank by saw a living social voucher and thought I would give it a shot. I walked in and was immediately greeted with a friendly face. It was small and quaint. Cute decor with a rustic look. Tables neatly arranged. They serve alcohol. That was a PLUS! Placed my order: with some Special requests and they fixed just how I liked it. Brought out to my table for me. The food was delicious. Not a place you could take a really large party because it is small but they do have take out. They were very accommodating and friendly. Will definitely be going back!!!

Had to take another friend to this great little joint in the Cape. We had a great waiter in Vince and they we very accommodating in splitting an entree. We had the two soup specials and wow was that a great idea! The french onion was a lighter healthier version of the cheese engulfed one you usually get. But don't let that stop you!! The taste was 10x better for sure, and not salty, just tasty! My friend had the Thai Tomato, fabulous and bursting with flavor and just a touch of coconut and then a swirl of what I think was spicy thai oil. We were both impressed. They always bring bread to the table at BRC and lately I've been trying to cut back but I could not resist, after all, I had been good all week and their bread is crunchy and warm. Finally we split the seafood etouffe.Great flavors again! Spicy, but not explode your head spicy (it made my cheeks sweat a little). My only criticism would be for some slightly larger shrimp, but the crab was noticeable and sweet and the sausage gave it all a good kick and the right flavor profile. Yummy were our final parting words as we left, just yummy.

Quaint joint. Friendly small town atmosphere. Food just okay. The pancakes were tasty but not as big as pizzas as one reviewer stated (I'm not greedy, was hoping to share). My bagel and lox was dry and the salmon was skimpy. And my chai tasted more American than Indian. Thank goodness this little spot is in a cute city of Cape St.. Claire where me and my Hunny took a romantic stroll on one of the many private beaches. My husband gave the coffee a thumbs ups. I'll give it another try if I am in the area.

Wow what a find. This was our fourth time in 4 weeks and the food was 10 out of 10 every time. Every texture and temperature is nailed perfectly. Each week we have tried a new entree and each week have been blown away. This week we had a soft shell crab poor boy special that was the best since my days in Houma Louisiana. All of the sides are expertly prepared and all the entrees so far have been the best in a 50 mile radius. The pork belly might be the best in 100 miles or more!

Last time we were in, Blue Rooster seems to have changed. The dinner menu was much reduced -- now it seems to concentrate mostly on sandwiches, with only 2-3 entree items. Also, ordering was done at the counter -- no more wait staff. My wife and I use to like to come here for a nice dinner, now it's more of a casual grab-and-go sandwich place. Sad.

Tasty, especially for a small town find. We stopped in on the way to Sandy Point State Park. $35 for 2 adults and 1 child. Solid omelette. Great waffle. Okay veggie frittata.

I ordered breakfast from here this morning(this was my very first time here) When I walked in it was just my kind of cafe. so cute and the girl at the counter was very sweet. I ordered over the phone and when I got there it was ready. I ordered just pancakes, bacon, and home fries and I got it Togo. Once I got home I put it on a plate and started to dig in. The pancakes were dry and some of the potatoes weren't cooked all the way through. Even though I was a little disappointed I know this place is not by any means bad maybe just a busy morning. I've heard nothing but good things about this cafe and I will be back. Maybe next time I will stay and eat.

I'm not sure how people are giving this place less than 5 stars. The food is excellent and it's FRESH. This is a farm to table type restaurant. My wife and I have gone here about 4 times. We haven't had anything on the menu we don't like. It is a small place, but I've never been there and not been able to get a seat right away. If you want a good FRESH meal, this is a great place and the prices aren't bad. I'm not sure why one reviewer said there isn't "waiter service". There are definitely people who wait on you.

We just ate here for the second time. It's truly excellent - it really stands out from a lot of the other suburban Annapolis fare. The food is well-prepared (the chef's training shows) and the ingredients are clearly high-quality and fresh. The service is also excellent. We've been pleasantly surprised on both of our visits and will definitely be back again before too long. This is a local business that deserves its share of love. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

I usually don't write a review after just one visit, but I was so blown away by the beignets that I had to get the word out there. These wonders are made from scratch and imho are better than Café Du Monde in N.O.-no kidding. They are smaller and more delicate-wow. I'll come back for these if nothing else... And as to the else...I ordered the biscuits with sausage gravy. They also make the biscuits there and they were wonderful. The gravy was delicious-flavor and consistency: perfect. However, I did not like the sausage. I think it was mostly a texture thing-it seemed rather mushy to me. And I got a side of the potatoes with onions which turned out to be one of the best I've had. There was a hint of flavoring (Old Bay?) and normally I hate flavoring, but this was subtle enough that it did not detract from the potato experience-if you know what I mean. But best of all was how hot, fresh and crunchy they were. Really great! I hope this small place with big standards does well. The scratch made baked items are rarer than hen's teeth in these parts. And if they ever decide to make their pancakes from scratch (only place in the area I know that does this is Willie's in far flung Ferndale) I will bump them up to a 5... Yay, I'm a fan!

The best coffee in Annapolis! Also where locals go to talk. You can find out all that is going on in the area just by stopping in and chatting with the folks. Food is great and made to order. They are not fussy about dietary changes and the prices are fair for the quality and quantity.

After reading all the great reviews of this place, I made it my business to check it out. Service with a smile? Check! Giant pancakes the size of small pizzas? Check! Perfectly-made french toast with a touch of cinnamon (not overpowering)? Check! Super casual, almost deli-like spot? Check! When you just want good, filling breakfast and not a lot of fuss, Blue Rooster Cafe (formerly Cravings) is a perfect fit. I got the French Toast and I have to say that it was some of the best I have had in a long time. Highly recommend it. The place is pretty small, so don't be upset if it's full and you can't get a seat. Just place your order to go and cop a squat if something opens up. If not, take it home and eat the goodness at home. Always a win!

What a wonderful addition to the community. A limited menu but they do everything on the menu really really well. My favorite is the Pork Belly with sweet potatoes and brussel sprouts. Great beer and wine selection.

My sister and I went to breakfast around 9am one day. We got there just in time! I ordered my breakfast sandwich at the counter (where you're supposed to order it, not just sit at a table which I thought was pretty obvious) and the staff was very nice. They were playing old timey music and singing even though they got slammed. They remained calm which I respected. I work in a restaurant so it's hard to stay calm when everyone comes in at once. I think they need a better organized way to put in food orders. They were taking turns taking orders and making food one person at a time. Food was good though! Would definitely recommend.

My First day on Annapolis was before 3 days & i was very tired from shifting my Things From " Alexandria To Annapolis " I found Blue Rooster I Spend my resting time here . I like the place & i like da decor system & there drinks was testy and V good . There is small points i don't like there : 1- There is no T.V Systems if u gonna sit for while. 2- There is no Wifi Systems . 3- There is no Waiter Service , He would help once it's full , so u have to wait until some one finish :( . 4- Small place u will not feel good to sit inside . Good Points : 1- Service is so fast , u will not wait long time . 2- Formerly Craving is Very Tasty And Perfect . 3- Decor is perfect and good for your eyes :D . If u just need to take out you will like it , coz u will not wait more that 2 Minute :) . Thanks & Best Regards .

Good place to get a quick breakfast but couldn't imagine having dinner there - no ambience, tables a bit dirty, lighting very functional. The music was loud and awful, they seemed to just select it for there own listening pleasure, service slow. They should just decide to be a coffee shop and build on that. This area really needs a 'Bean Rush' or City Dock type of coffee place with big armchairs and home made muffins!!!

I absolutely loved this place! I live in Arnold but had never been before. I went the other day with my family and got the best chicken Caesar wrap I have ever had! It was more than just lettuce, chicken, and caesar. It was out of this world. Not to mention their breakfast and lunch menu is very affordable. It gave an overall warm, small town feeling and had great service! Highly recommend.

This is a small local coffee shop that also acts as a fine dining restaurant at night. I'm rating this strictly based on the coffee shop aspect of the place. The vibe of the place is pretty good, and they have their own custom decor that seems to work. You don't feel like you're in a cookie-cutter starbucks, that's for sure. The coffee and tea selection is nothing special, but they have everything you'd want. The prices are not cheap, but pretty normal. I'd say slightly on the high side for what it is. My biggest complaint and reason for 3-stars is that the seating is not particularly comfortable, and there is no wifi. If you're looking for a comfy coffee shop to hang out and do some work for a while, this isn't your place. It kind of shocks me to find a coffee shop that doesn't have working wifi. They make it sound like they do actually have wifi capability, but that it is just temporarily down due to some technological hurdle. It's been that way for quite some time, so I'll update this if I find out they have it available. It seems like it shouldn't be hard to just buy a $60 wireless router and plug it in...

We decided to come here based on a friends Facebook recommendation. This was a mistake as the experience was not a good one. When we entered, there was two tables that had their food and finishing up, so we really had the place to ourselves. The person behind the counter was friendly, and handed us menus to review. We ordered a Bacon, Avocado, Lettuce, and Tomato (BALT) with crispy bacon and the person suggested upgrading to homemade fries with Old Bay; we also ordered the Eggs Benedict special. No frills, no special requests. After 10 minutes, 13 people came into the restaurant and took over 3 tables. Interestingly enough, while we got plastic cups, they got bigger glass cups. One of the men set up his laptop and knew the waitstaff based on his conversations with them, and the people started to order. Within 15 minutes, EVERY person in this group had their meals. I'm not talking salads and soup, but sandwiches, burgers, et al. After all of the 13 were served, a waitress looked at us and said, "oh, you don't have your food yet?!" After another 10 minutes, we asked again about our food. It took 40 minutes for us to get our food starting with my BALT, and another few minutes for the Eggs Benedict. My bacon looked microwaved and the fries were not the Old Bay that I was upsold too. The sandwich was ok, but it's what I would expect from Panera. The Eggs Benedict was ok, but the home fries and onions were cold. We asked for more water and asked about the "non-Old Bay fries"; as I was taking a bite of my BALT, my plate was taken out from under me (with my sandwich in hand) and I heard "I'll put some Old Bay on them". I held onto my sandwich while I waited for the return. When the plate came back, the fries seemed to have been re-fried, soaking with oil and Old Bay. No one asked how our food was, as it seems the wait staff was too busy texting behind the counter. When I went on their website and saw the staff, one of the gentlemen I presume to be the owner and chef was part of the party of 13. It's nice to know that paying patrons are treated like second class citizens for mediocre food and service. The food and service do not merit a return visit.

Note that "Cravings" has been sold to a new owner and has re-opened as the Blue Rooster Cafe. The decor is different, but much of the menu is still the same, many of the same girls work there, and of course the excellent coffee is the same. Dave's also adding some nice decor touches and trying out new specials to see what will end up on the menu (really hoping he adds that brie/raspberry/ham grilled cheese and the breakfast burrito!). The atmosphere is a bit different, but it and the food are every bit as wonderful. Added after having gone to the Blue Rooster for several months: LOVE the menu changes. Absolutely love them. I get sandwiches all the time now because they're just so delicious. The place is a bit busier than it used to be so I prefer to go during off times. EDIT March 2014: Blue Rooster opened for dinner: not inexpensive, but good prices for the very nice fare they're serving (it's just a different type of food than their breakfast/lunch menu). Relaxed, intimate atmosphere. The crawfish gumbo was wonderful. My husband and I are salmon snobs & rarely get salmon at restaurants any more, but the salmon with risotto was delightful, and we'd happily get it again. As if that wasn't enough, the apricot bread pudding I had for dessert is the best bread pudding I've had since we went to New Orleans years ago. It's a small place with a limited menu, but it's perfect for a relaxed date with your spouse or a nice meal out with family.

Based upon reviews, we opted first for lunch here. After sitting for close to 5 minutes in an empty restaurant, we quickly decided this place was not for us. The staff never greeted us or even made eye contact with us. They appeared to be nearing the end of their shift and ready to go home. No problem, river bay roadhouse, next door was awesome!!!

Blue Rooster Cafe- formally Cravings, is a local cute place. The coffee is good. Not sure what I expected from the yelp reviews but this is like a small old timey dinette with a few tables. Local, small, and would suggest grabbing to go.

I have been going to the BR since it was Cravings. Not really the same place at all. I mostly grab a quick breakfast. But have recently ordered lunch to go getting their BLAT - bacon lettuce tomato and avocado. So yummy. On a crunchy baguette. And finally was nearby last night and got the ribs to die for. Truly, Red Hot and Blue cannot hold a candle. The sides are clearly made fresh and are so tasty and unique. Looking forward to more dinners at the Blue Rooster.

Went to cravings based on the 5 star rating on yelp. It was a clean little deli looking place with about 7 our so tables. It was not quite what we were expecting but we gave it a try. We ordered french toast, pancakes and a latte. We went and sat at a table that had recently been cleared off, but apparently not cleaned off. After a few minutes the woman behind the counter came over and told us the latte was on the counter waiting for us. Unfortunately, the latte was very chalky. Soon the food came to the table and we dug in. My french toast was quite tasty, but the big thick pancakes that look so yummy in the picture are anything but. They tasted like uncooked batter and we had to dig around to find the few spots that were actually done properly. Overall, we were not impressed and though this may be a decent place to grab a quick bite, it is not anywhere near a 5 star.
