Hands down some of the best pizza in town! It took me a while to find this place in my search for some decent pizza around here and, finally I walked through the door here. My search had ended! Added bonus is the greek salads! ENJOY!!

This is a great little spot. The pasta is delish, maybe a little salty and the pizza is the best New York style pie in the area. They offer fried eggplant on pizza, what's not to love? The sachetti with pear, the eggplant rollatini, and the gnocchi with meat sauce are all yummy too. Jimmy, the pizza counter guy is a darling. Great for takeout or quick dinner.

  • Richard W.

Looks like a dump from the outside. Mediocre food and way overpriced for food. Beer, salad, and chicken pasta dish - $28 - initially was $36 until I questioned the amount and discovered $8 added to the bill, not even an apology for their mistake.

First experience was so so as far as service goes. But the gnocchi was amazing! Bc the food was so good I kept it at a three star. Based on this last time we visited in the 3pm hour. We walked in and I felt like we were intruding. All the employees were taking a break at the main tables of the restaurant. Which is totally cool if someone or anyone greeted us or smiled or anything. Just glared as we walked by to sit down. Super fun. They did say goodbye and thank you for coming..... If we were in the wrong going at that time no one said anything. And their sign said open. I know I checked as we were walking out. I know many restaurants have their "ghost hour" around that time. But normally would be closed or some would let you know. Probably won't dine in here again. But that gnocchi will be ordered out for sure.

You are greeted with fresh, colorful pizza, strombolis, salads and so much more. Everything looks scrumptious I wanted one of everything. The flavors were just as amazing as the sights and smells. Perfect walk up Italian in a time crunch or a quick dinner.

Very nice people and the Monday night $9 pie was a great deal. They made it just as ordered. I went to Graul's and bough at $1.29 package of fresh basil to toss over the hot pie. My detraction was the salt level is SO HIGH. Not the crust but either sauce or cheese was crazy salty.

The guy who works there was so racist i didnt even get to try their food. As soon as me and my friend walked in he would avoid us and act like he was busy when i tried to order. as soon as somebody else walked in he then asked whose next and completely ignored us and took their order. I asked him how much a slice of pizza was and he said " why do u want to know. Just order" and then said to the girl who was working the cashier in spanish or italian " something something fu*in chinos". And then looked straight at us and said "ni hao" in a very racist way when we are not chinese. Places like this, i dont care how good the food is. You guys make people like us feel like shit and i dont understand why the owner would hire somebody who pushes away customers. If your racist thats fine. But dont be like that to customers and make them all leave n feel like shit. That was my experience at Bella Italia and i dont think i will ever come back to this place because of the way me and my friend was treated.

I went in there during the afternoon and asked for the chicken provolone sandwich and they told me I had to come back later because the sandwich guy was gone. There was 4 workers behind the counter and I was the only customer. They are too lazy to make a sandwich. Terrible service.

Phenomenal food! Had the Linguine Bolognese. Plenty of fresh pasta with a great sauce. Lino, the owner, is the real deal!

  • Stefani R.

Not the nicest place inside but the food totally makes up for it!! They're pizzas are packed with delicious toppings....like pizzas should be! The staff is always so friendly and provide great customer service, definitely a wonderful family business. I've been going for years and I'm not going anywhere!

  • Lori K.

Yummy homemade Italian pizza! Not a fancy place but a great variety of pizza to choose from. Even by the slice! I recommend the pizzas and salads!

  • Casey Q.

Terrific pizza, fast service, close to Navy & Marine Corps Stadium - what' s not to like? Their slices and pies could stand next to any Brooklyn pizzeria's product. Additional bonus here is that it's full of USNA midshipmen, which is great for any number of reasons. If you're headed to a Navy football game, grabbing lunch here is a great idea. If you're visiting a mid, grab a pie here with the crew.

  • Jurran W.

Legit Italian. That's exactly what you get at Bella Italia. Nothing fancy but the ambiance and food will definitely win you over. Some amazing homemade pizza with many varieties. They sell it by the slice too!

  • Vida O.

Almost perfect if they went easier on the sauce. Nice clean pizza place that has ample air conditioning. Those are hard to find in NYC but they exist in Annapolis. Fast service and the slices are pretty pricey but worth the trip if you are craving some good crust.

  • Kelly E.

It's not much to brag about from the outside but upon entering, you can tell that this place is legit. I liked how they had ready made slices of pizza on display. You can also order fresh pizza and other Italian food off the menu. We had the Caprese salad app and a slice of veggie and chicken Alfredo. The bread was very fresh and vegetables in season. Highly recommend! We'll be going back!

A classic great hole in the wall pizza place run by an Italian family who yell at each other in the kitchen (in Italian). Even though they offer a variety of other dishes, this place is really all about the pizza. Slices are proudly displayed at the front counter, prices are excellent, and the sicilian is heavy and cheesy. And like any good hole in the wall Italian joint, it has a great wine selection. Located right next to Grohls and Naval Bagels, it's the best pizza in Nap Town.

  • Regina S.

I was psyched when I heard there was a pizza place in Nap town that I had not yet sampled. Big plus, when I found it on yelp and it came with such positive reviews. Usually my fellow yelpers don't steer me wrong. Did I really eat at the same place? We ordered a sausage, mushroom, and ham NY style pizza. In seconds the dough was tossed, dressed and into the oven. We got it to go, and it smelled decent enough as the aromas seeped through the cardboard box. When I got home, I cranked up the oven, opened the container, and was disappointed at what I saw. First off, canned mushrooms. No, no, never. I saw the strips of ham but I could not find a trace of sausage. After heating our pie, we dug in. For the scant amount of toppings, the pizza was very salty. The dough was OK, simply a vessel to deliver the goods on top. After one slice, I was done. I asked my husband what he would rate it from 1 - 10 and he said a 4. I concurred. I suppose it might be better if you ordered the pizza with different toppings, but ours was such a basic order, and if you can't do that right, than no second chances. So Bella Italia, you have convinced me once again, to go into my own kitchen and make my own darn pizza.

Only been here a few times, but its been pretty good.

Serving size was about right for two adults to finish a pizza. Ingredients tasted fresh. Crust was not too thin and not too thick. Most of the patrons seen eating here appeared to be local as opposed to tourists. Service was friendly and prompt. Menu options were plentiful especially for people who like pasta options--however, a different review would be needed to learn about these options.. Soda drinks were self-serve. Rest rooms were clean. Parking seemed plentiful. Meal came to about $16 for two persons including a drink of water. Per person cost was about $8.

I came to Annapolis fresh off a trip to NYC to do some research at the State Archives. If you've just come from NYC, it's probably safest to avoid other pizza and the disappointment that is likely to accompany it. But Bella Italia is right across the street from the Archives, and convenience won out. Wow, was my laziness the right choice in this case. The decor isn't much to look at, but the pizza is great. I tried the plain cheese slice first. Amazing. I had to go back. On a subsequent visit, I accidentally ordered a slice of the eggplant white pizza by pointing ambiguously. I thought this was a bummer, as I don't really like eggplant or white pizza.... except at Bella Italia, apparently. The slice was incredibly flavorful and delicious, and so fresh tasting. On other visits, I tried the chicken parmesan sub and the gnocchi with meat sauce. The bread on the sub was crusty and perfect. The chicken was perhaps a bit drier in some parts than one would hope, but the gooey cheese and sauce still made it a great sandwich (and huge for the price). The gnocchi was in another league, though. I would have ordered it every day if I weren't concerned I would have gained ten pounds from the hearty meat sauce and the generous amount of fresh mozzarella they top it with. If you're in Annapolis and want an alternative to the seafood-heavy downtown offerings, I highly recommend this place.

This is more of a lunch place for local businesses. I ordinarily get a slice of pizza. They have a wide selection of pre-made pies from veggie to meat to speciality. A giant slice for about $3.50. I think the Mexican/taco pizza is actually the best, which is just something I tried on a lark...taco meat, refried beans, cheese, sour creasm, tomatoes, lettuce. I've never had an entree here, but they seem pretty expensive for the strip mall and bad decor ambience. Think big screen TV with Italian soap operas on it.

It's so close to NY's, but yet so far away, I mean the pizza and pasta. One of the restaurants close by, Bella is beautiful to me and the pizza speaks to me in Italian. No wonder, I gravitate to it during lunch. Bella Italia is a small pizzeria but it is proper enough for a big Italian appetite.

  • A G.

A friend and I stopped here on our way to a basketball game at the Naval Academy. The strip mall that it sits in looks a little old and run down so I was a little worried about the place but was pleasantly surprised. The place is small but had a decent amount of seating. You order at the counter and they bring your food to you. The real surprise was how good the pizza was. Very big slices with a nice crunchy crust. My friend also had a pasta dish that he said was pretty good. Nothing fancy but definitely worth a try if you are in the area.

  • Dave H.

I have only eaten the pizza here, but I consider it to be some of the best I have ever had. I'm normally a purist as far as toppings go, but Bella Italia has some creative variations that work very well (try the bacon/ranch or chicken alfredo). The crust and toppings are consistently good. Pizza is available by the slice and the friendly staff keeps things moving.

    (5)
  • Donald M.

Had a take out pizza. Topping was very good. Crust and sauce were ok but nothing special. Thought the price was a little on the high side. I would come back because this was better than anything else within reasonable driving distance.

BEST PIZZA in West Annapolis. Great service and good prices. Cheese steak was really good too.

  • Shane N.

First off, any Italian place that offers sausage as a side is alright by me. That being said, I have had better Italian sausage. The first time I went here we had the pizza. It was actually pretty good. We ordered there and took it home as take out. The service was polite, professional and fast. They offer a wide variety of gourmet pizzas and even a couple of different styles (NY style and Sicilian style) of pizza. They also have a variety of sauces (white, red and pesto). We have yet to try the pesto, so I can't comment on it, but the rest of the sauces are pretty good. My SO really loves the pizza, but I only think it is pretty good. It is still a very good place to get pizza in Annapolis and I do plan on going back. The next time we went there I had tried the baked ziti. Which was pretty good. I think the sauce was some type of vodka sauce and mixed with some ricotta cheese. The portion was really big, so I had ziti for breakfast the next day. Now, I would like to get back to the sausage (that's what she said). The sausage was rather mundane. The texture and flavor reminded me of a hot dog. Just not what I expected after everything else there was pretty good. The place definitely has the potential to be 4 stars and after I try a couple of more of the pasta dishes, then maybe I will update my review. If you are in Annapolis you should definitely check this place out. As I said, my SO really loves the pizza. You might love it too.

Pizza here is great. I usually go here at least once a week to grab pizza for lunch. Fast service, good food, good prices.

Update: Since the first order, I am updating my rating. I've had the spaghetti and meatballs with italian sausage and a delicious pizza with chicken, onion, ham, and white/alfredo sauce. Both items were delicious and now crave them! lol I ordered a large pepperoni, 'shroom, and tomato. The crust was very nice--crispy, not too thin, not too thick--just the way I like it. The pepperoni was tasty, tomatoes were freshly cut, but the mushrooms were from a can. Maybe they ran out of fresh ones. I also wished there was more sauce. Overall, the pizza was quite good. The service was fast and the guys were friendly. I didn't eat there but I liked the vibe of the restaurant. I will go back for more. Caio!

I have eaten there many times and have spent a bit of money there over the last couple of years. I ran in today to get one slice of pizza ($3.00) and was told that I could not charge less than $5.00. I understand that buying one slice with a credit card may not be profitable, but beside from breaking the rules with the CC company that was bad business sense as I was a good customer. Now they will never see my business again. Nice job guys...

We spent the day wandering around Annapolis and visiting the Naval Academy where some friends are getting married this summer. Afterwards we got a bit lost driving and decided we were hungry and would eat at the next place we found. After driving by six places that were closed we finally stumbled across this little place. We got a few slices of pizza (cheese & pepperoni) to share. They were so good my boyfriend went and bought another piece. I wanted one too but decided to be good and just eat the one. They have a nice little dining area and apparently offer pasta in addition to their pizza. While we were there a bus full of high school football players pulled up and picked up dozens of boxes of pizza to take back on the bus. They were very organized and efficient and managed to serve us, the bus, and a few other customers quickly. I wish they were closer so I could have their pizza more often!

  • Emily M.

My sister and I love Bella Italia and it has become a lunch and dinner tradition for us. The pizza is thin and superb. We also love their chicken cheesesteaks when we are a bit hungover. I highly recommend this place for take out.

My favorite FAST Italian place of all in Annapolis! I almost always carry out. They do serve beer and wine if you dine in. The people who work there are actually Italian. Pizzas, pastas, calzones, salads, and appetizers are all great. It can also be miraculous as hangover food. They don't have a website, but you can look on google for their menu and another site has it. They have awesome sounding specials written on a board in the store, so when I call them for carryout, I am missing out on the specials, they need a website. But the regular menu is amazing! I live close by currently, but will be moving to Riva soon. I will probably still drive out to Bella for carryout, it is better than Squisito's, Three Brothers, etc. Bella Italia just has better and more interesting ingredients on their menu. Those other places seem to try to disguise mediocrity by just slathering on cheese and sauce. Bella doesn't deliver though, if you want pizza/Italian delivery, Today's is the answer.

Great Pizza (by the slice.) I've also had a few pasta entrees and they are very good. Place is casual and easy going. If you have kids this is a good choice to balance the needs of fussy eaters who need fast service with those who want something a bit more sociable and sustaining.

Rating is just for pizza- as I've never ever felt the urge to eat anything else! This place replaced a mediocre Thai place, and it was the best thing to happen to my workplace (across the street) since I started working here. They serve the best pizza I've eaten in Maryland. It's not exotic, nothing fancy, and it's certainly not like they serve in Italy- but it's solid and very tasty. It's in a strip mall. The service borders on belligerent- not quite "the pizza Nazi," but don't expect friendly chit-chat. But wow, it's really good pizza either as a whole pie or by the slice. Both the thin and the thick crust versions are delicious. The toppings are pretty creative- I like the ham and pineapple and the roasted garlic with fresh sliced tomatoes. The "maria bianca" aka white pizza is terrific too. $2 for a big slice of plain cheese as of the last slice I ate, which was yesterday... Eat in or to go. Beer available for eat in (or two doors down in the Rite Aid to go).

    (5)
  • Dave W.

I again wish I could do 2.5 stars. I will definitely continue eating here, though my wife and have repeatedly had problems ordering over the phone. Why is it so hard to get someone working the phone who actually speaks and understands English? The food is great, and we'd probably order more often if it wasn't so difficult to get what we want.

  • Vince I.

Usually great food but disappointed tonight with their most expensive special. Spaghetti, scoglia, seafood, langustino. Dry, no sauce, skimpy portion. I'm sure this is an exception to their usually fine fare.

Great pizza selection, tv in the dining area, good beer and alcohol selection. We love coming here in Fridays! This place is friendly and has a great selection of fast not fast foods.

Very good pizza. Easy location. Easy parking. Good after-church place. When I realized we were short a drink in our group and the guy behind the counter just gave an extra one to us. Nice touch when he didn't have to.

  • Edward D.

Pizza by the slice with large selection. Pizza was very good. Price is very high for a normal sized slice. Expected huge slice for the price. Probably not out of line for Annapolis prices.

    (4)
  • John D.

I love this place. Great people, great food. I come here at least once a week. The pizza is really good (even plain cheese). But it's the specials that really put it on the map, and the pasta is about as good as it gets. Try the Fucilli Primavera, you won't be disappointed!

    (5)
  • J C.

This is the best NY style pizza in the area. A sign of a good pizza place is how well their plain cheese slices hold up. You don't need some bizarre topping to cover the taste up. Haven't had anything else off the menu but pizza is great.

    (4)
  • Jessie D.

I recently moved from NYC to Annapolis, and this place has the best pizza I have ever had outside of NY. If they were in NY I would probably consider it an average/decent place, but it is miles above all other pizza places in Annapolis. I also really enjoy the chicken steak subs.

  • Tom T.

Real good food. Informal. Great prices. Friendly staff. I've been there many times and have never been disappointed.

About Taco Bell

Taco Bell is a haven for Mexican delicacies such as tacos, quesadillas, burritos, nachos, and other specialty items. Owned by Yum! Brands, Inc. Taco Bell is one of the fastest growing American chains of fast food restaurants. The restaurant operates from 7,072 different locations which are mostly run by independent franchisees and licensees.

The background story of Taco Bell is interesting and inspiring for budding entrepreneurs. The fast-food brand is the brainchild of Glen Bell, who started his first food venture as a hot dog seller in San Bernardino, California. The year was 1948. After witnessing long queues outside a Mexican restaurant called Mitla Café across the street, Bell saw the opportunity and demand for hard-shelled Tacos. He reverse-engineered the recipe and later started selling Tacos and called the venture Taco-Tia.

Later, the name changed from Taco-Tia to El Taco. Eventually, Glen Bell sold the company to his partner and opened the first Taco Bell in Downey in 1962. By 1964, the restaurant also got its first franchise in Torrance. The 100th Taco Bell restaurant was opened by 1965. PepsiCo acquired Taco Bell from Glen Bell in 1978 and the restaurant brand is currently a subsidiary of Yum! Brands which looks after the restaurant business of PepsiCo.
