How do you not love this place? They have everything amd the quality is solid for the low price. Even their steaks are great!

Here's the thing you should keep in mind when it comes to the review of a chain buffet restaurant. Sure, they get their food from the same suppliers, and have their buffet lined up according to corporate standards, but from what I understand, Golden Corral is actually a franchise and your experience can differ owner to owner. Whomever owns or manages this location goes out of their way to ensure that the staff they have is friendly, the food is always hot, fresh and that the location is impeccably clean. Is it a date night kind of place? No. But you don't expect it to be. However, I have had some serious negative experiences at other locations, and, while in Aberdeen, is a location that if I do decide to visit a buffet, is worth the extra 25 minutes out of my way to get here.

Iv been to a couple of buffets but i was impressed by this one. They had everything from salads to different types of meat, veggies just everything. I enjoyed it all! Would give it a 5 star but my friend got food poison so something was not ok in the food! But thank the lord I didnt get sick or the star rating would be way lower.

I was here on Mother's Day. I don't eat here for many reasons here is why. It cost $16 to eat; the last time i ate here it was $12. The place smells like melted plastic. The macaroni and cheese tasted like plastic. The meatloaf was loaded was onion and pepper. The soup didn't look savory. Kids were unsupervised and playing in the fondue fountain. You're safest options are the salad bar and vegetables. The unsupervised children run around the restaurant running into people left and right. I call this the food trough for a reason. If someone wants a good buffet make thr trip to East Earl, PA to Shady Maple....that's a buffet!

Affordable, plenty of food, typical buffet....I'd rather go to a Chinese buffet anyday. Only thing I can say is this is probably better than the majority of fast food restaurants around here.

These reviews are hysterical. I dont know why the ratings are so low, what the hell do you expect for such a low priced buffet? The food is indeed terrible for you and you do feel guilty for eating it , but come on this is 'Murica for something's sake. I go with my parents on occasion , who are big on eating 6 plates of this stuff. Personally I get a plate of salad (typically cut into Horse sized bites) and one plate of self indulgent blissfood..then a plate of dessert. The people are generally friendly , and as pointed out previously you will probably have to wait behind a couple of morbidly obese regulars for your mac and cheese.. But its not a "bad" place to eat lunch sometimes, as long as you don't eat again the next day..

I am such a food snob and if a buffet is mentioned, it a "no go" for me. We came. We ate. The food was good. The asparagus was crisp. The steak was tender. The lobster tail was cooked just right, not at all over cooked or chewy. The staff are some of the friendliest that I've encountered. The rolls are "to die for". I'm sure there are other food snobs out there and I hope that they see this. You will be pleasantly surprised.

We call it the Golden Trough -- you know, that thing they feed the pigs and horses in? Anyways, the Gold Trou-- Corral always has a wide selection of things, just don't expect it to be terribly fresh. I think I've been there three times now, twice for work-related stuff, and it's the only place we can all agree upon due to the selection, as said. When you go in just grab a few plates right off the bat if you're able to, sometimes I've noticed it can be difficult to get plates if they're busy. Oh, and if you're a thirsty eater (me!) then just save yourself some trouble and ask for an entire pitcher of water. Hey, what can I say, I like my water! All in all a good place to go, decently priced for what you get, I guess. I just wish it had a bit more in the way of salads and stuff, similar to Souplantation!

If you like quantity over quality, you will love this place. Also, the place is usually crowded and not the cleanest place I've even been in. All the Golden Corrals that I have been to recently seem to be exactly the same with respect to food quality and cleanliness. Not going back to this or any Golden Corral - ever.

I am back to update the review I gave GC a couple of years ago. We had quit going out to eat for a long time because money was just needed other places but the other day we decided to treat the family to dinner out. We decided to go to GC because that way everyone could get what they wanted. It was horrible, I mean horrible. I was so disappointed and I will not go back there. Lets run it down: 1. While the plates and silverware being out where you can get your own is a good thing it really bites when the dishes are dirty and so is the silverware. I did mention this to a manager only to be given the run down on how they wash the dishes in this really hot temp. etc, etc. I don't care if it kills germs there is no need for dirty dishes in an eatery. 2. The steak was inedible and they have cut the proportions dramatically. My mother ordered well and got Medium while my daughter ordered medium and got very rare. Mine was full of fat. 3. The choices have gone downhill a lot. I used to love to get the fried fish and coconut shrimp but neither was on the menu. I couldn't find mushrooms for my steak or onions. They no longer offer cranberries for your salad and I noticed that a couple of staple toppings was missing. 4. They no longer bring your rolls. They have them in their own section now. Look I really do not mind getting my own stuff but every single time I went to get a roll it was empty. If you are going to make us get our own at least keep it full. 5. The biggest problem of the night? Kids running around. I have kids and I know what it is like to go somewhere with them. However when your 7 year old is running through the restaurant and I am walking with a plate of food I would rather not have to worry about them running in to me. Geesh people leash your kids and managers step up and do your job by making parents control them before someone seriously ends up hurt. There was at least 4 to 5 kids running loose all over the place that night. It is sad what has happened in the last two years. This used to be a good spot to go as long as you didn't expect much.

We've been diners at Golden Corral at Beards Hill as well as at their later location on Rt. 40 in Aberdeen. That adds up to about 20 yrs of eating there whenever we need a "something for every palate" venue, which is quite frequently. There are times when the buffet is not stocked to the gills because their number of guests make food disappear. That in itself is a tribute to Golden Corral's efforts and service. We found their foods to be consistent in quality and taste. If any one item isn't quite what we expected, we move on to find another that is more pleasing. Let's face it, it is simply not possible to please everyone all the time. When you consider the overall idea, it's a herculean feat to prepare food that has flavor, but can be enjoyed by tender tummies of kids as well as seniors and is still tasty to most in between. Then consider the price for value. Just try and beat that in another buffet venue - and let me know where you succeeded! As for kids running around; yes, you can watch really sad examples of parenting in action there. First and foremost, it is the parents' responsibility to teach their kids proper behaviors, especially in public places - not the restaurant staff's. We have seen parents get nasty with Golden Corral staff after being asked politely to keep their kids out of harms way. In all fairness, Golden Corral can't win this one - this is exclusively on the parents. Makes you wonder what their home life is like, if such behaviors are acceptable and defended so vehemently in public. Golden Corral's staff evidently are trained to stay friendly, despite what they have to put up with. Overall, as always, you get what you pay for. In Golden Corral's case, you get a whole bunch more choices, diverse flavors, and variety than elsewhere. You know what to expect going in, this is not a fine dining location - so what exactly can be complained about? A belly so full of decent food that you have to be rolled out, for a reasonable price? I don't understand those people who complain.

Quite busy, food is decent for the price, but not something I would go to if I could help it.

Hey, it's a buffet and it's cheap. They have a big selection of food, and the massive amounts of fat one can consume here really help at noon on a sunday after night of heavy drinking. Consequently, Sunday around noon is just about the only time I am ever here. The food is so bad for you and in such abundance that I would feel guilty eating here most other times. I think they have theme nights, like a Chinese food night on Friday or Saturday. Anyway, the service is usually pretty good even though GC gets stuffed to the gills on Sunday from the massive church exodus. Expect to be hovered over by old women in huge hats while spooning out your second bucket of Mac and cheese.

I've gone here several times but usually only when my brother asks me to go because it's a little out of my way. You can't really complain about GC too much because it IS an All-You-Can-Eat restaurant. My only complaint though is that the beef brisquet had way to much smoky flavor. I would definitely recommend GC to those on a tight budget with big stomachs. It's self serve, so all you can expect from the waitstaff is to bring the drinks and take away your dirty plates. It was well worth the price. Our waitress was pretty attentive. I've heard complaints about the food not being fresh, I can't believe that because the place is packed. If something wasn't fresh, it's because it's an unpopular item that should be removed from the menu anyways. Everything I ate was fresh and in plentiful supply. So if you're ever really hungry and in the Aberdeen area, you should definitely stop by the Golden Corral. Your stomach and wallet will thank you.
