Super Chicken Rico

Reviews:
This place has great, cheap, fresh Peruvian food!! tried the half roasted chicken with fried plantain and boiled cabbage, served with yellow huincaina sauce like the potatoes and a spicy green sauce, both on the side. all was perfect!! they have Inka Cola, of course. good to try if you have not.. a fast food style order at the counter place, very popular, lunchtime seating is at a bit of a premium.. a but surprising to find this in a part of Maryland that feels kinda 'murica.
Awesome Peruvian chicken, fried plantains and everything in between. This place is always busy around lunch time and for good reason. Don't bother with anything else on the menu, get a quarter chicken with rice and fried plantains and you will not be disappointed. If you are in the area visiting APG, it's a must stop for lunch.
The chicken, plantains, and rice were delicious! Definitely coming here again. :)

Best you can get anywhere. Service is slow at busy times but worth the wait. If service was faster every review would be five stars, I am sure.
Delicious! Homemade ice cream next to a pasture. Phenomenal selection of flavors. I had honey ice cream for first time. We also tried cookies & cream along with salted caramel. Wonderful! They'd get full five stars if they had real whipped cream and a toilet vs. porta potty.
Came here during the Farm day and had a nice tour of their facility. The tour guides were knowledgeable and you can tell that they are passionate and proud of their facility and ice cream. I had the salted brownie and it was delicious. Sweet and creamy. They also sell cheese and beef. I wished they carried more than just ground beef, but its nice to be able to pick up multiple farm fresh products in one place.

I wish we had Rita's in California! My roommate turned me onto this place out of the blue, and even had the nerve to tease me when I didn't know what Rita's was. The gelati is great, and they have a few flavors that are really good - juicy pear to name one! This place can really hit the spot, especially on 90-degree days with 99% humidity!
It was my first time at a Rita's. Beth served us and she's a real sweetheart. She told us all about the different products and flavors, the hours and other year round locations. My son has food allergies and she was very accommodating. I will be back again. Great service and it is tasty.
Gelatis are to die for :)

There are two Subways in the area. The one on Aberdeen Proving Ground and this one. The one on APG gets packed starting at 11 a.m., but this one is nice and empty until about noon-ish, which makes sense because of the civilian workforce's lunch schedule. That said, it's my favorite Subway to go to when I want something. It's clean, plenty of parking, the people are generally quick, and there's always seating if I want to eat there.

Mamie’s Cafe

Reviews:
Awesome cafe that is much bigger than it looks from the outside, tucked in a plaza near the ShopRite. Have been here for lunch only but the service was excellent and the portion big enough that I had to bring leftovers home. And did I mention the free dessert with every meal? Give Mamie's a visit, you won't be disappointed.
Went to this place for dinner last night with my cuz who was visiting the base nearby. I chose this place based on the positive reviews on yelp. I concur! J
You would never know just how good this place is from the shopping center parking lot, but I strongly encourage you to go inside. WOW - talk about a nostalgic type of diner, with lots of really good comfort food. They really nailed it. The food is good, home-style kind of cooking, and the portions are right. The service was very friendly too. I'm not sure what else you need to know, but go here.

Frank’s Pizza

37 W Bel Air Ave
Aberdeen, 21001
Reviews:
This is the best pizza in at least a 30 mile radius. I live in Pennsylvania yet will make the trip to Franks to pickup pizzas for my family. Why? The pizza is fantastic! Very thin crust, sauce is perfect- not too sweet or tart, and ample cheese which is cooked to perfection. I consistently get superb quality pizza from Franks. I've also had subs and they are very good as well. The dining room is nothing fancy but the food is outstanding. As other reviewers have mentioned, prices are very low in my opinion which is a great value for families. I usually get two large pizzas with a two liter of soda for $20. Not sure where else you can nowadays and get dinner for a family of 4 for $20! Staff is always friendly and I've never experienced with an issue with an order I've placed over the phone or in person. If you dine in at lunchtime and buy a slice, it's huge. Two slices few more like half of a pie. Which is fine with me since it's delicious and I don't want to stop eating it!
Quick hometown pizza place that had awesome lunch specials can get you in and out within an Hour lunch time wtih time to spare for about $5.00 with a drink. I got the Pizza Pie Bacon Cheeseburger It was huge! and it was good quality fresh out the oven this place is worth a shot if your at APG and need a quick inexpensive lunch.
Staying in the Aberdeen area for a short time so I decided to explore what pizza joints that are in the area. Came across this spot and decided to try. Phoned in my order (Special 14" pizza and Frank's special sub). The lady who took my order asked all typical order questions and gave me an exact ready time and when I got there my food was still hot. Pricing: I'd say the pizza was a little expensive and given that the pizza was nothing special (I'm from Boston and I've had better pizza that cost less). The food: Pizza was mediocre, the veggies and mushroom didn't taste fresh, seemed like it was all out of a can or jar. The meats (pepperoni, etc tasted good). The sub supposedly had special sauce, but didn't differentiate the sub (tasted like a dryer version of a sloppy joe-yeah not that special) much from subs I've had elsewhere. To conclude, I demolished the pizza and sub, but only because I was really hungry. I'd say try it if you don't fancy pizza chains or if you're okay with paying extra for mediocre pizza.

Panera Bread

1022 Beards Hill Road
Aberdeen, 21001
Reviews:
Thanks to veganeatingout.com/paner… I have discovered my favorite menu item: Mediterranean Veggie Sandwich (without Feta Cheese) and a Classic Cafe Salad with pepperchinis. The Tomato Basil Bread has honey on it, but you could choose a different one if that bothers you. Also, I add one of those ketchup-sized Tabasco sauces to it. I want to try their Black Bean Soup soup, but I don't want to learn that it is made by either adding hot water or by defrosting a plastic bag. There is still a lunch time rush, which is unlikely to change. The staff is friendly, so it's not an unpleasant wait. Since they are busy, it is especially important to check that your order is correct before you leave! The seating is very comfortable, kindof like putting a bunch of tables and chairs in your living room and inviting strangers over to eat and drop food on the floor. I haven't been to any other Panera Bread, so I can't compare this place to another. Even if it is one of the better places to eat in the area, it's not five stars.
Super crazy busy & large location, this Panera has 4 people taking orders and money, and even more in the kitchen. I don't quite understand the option of a side of extra bread with a sandwich lol so I opted for chips, they are included in the price which was cool. Service was fast, hardly had time to get a fountain drink and my tuna sammich was ready for pickup. Came with a pickle too but a little skimpy on the tuna salad, grr. Vegetarian rating: 3+ stars, my veggie driver brought us here specifically for the veg options which included soups and mozzarella/tomato sandwich. Not too hard to get a table but don't bring a big group at noon! From the lunch crowds here you'd think nobody else serves food near APG, but the staff seems to handle it well, except for occasionally wiping off tables, that would be nice.
Imagine looking up at the night time sky. And it was completely dark. No stars can be seen in any direction. Black. But alas, you turn around and notice one star. Glimmering brightly. If the sky represents Aberdeen, then that one star must be Panera bread because there isn't much of anything else worth going here for. The Panera itself is uneventful. Exactly what you would want and expect. Prices I think are a little more than typical fast food, but the wait is quick and the quality is a step higher. The staff is always nice. And there is free internet if that's your thing.

Wowzer. Seriously local joint. Seriously. The good news is that if you can take the locals and just drown yourself in some cheap beer the food actually turned out pretty good, it's far from fine dining but will do in a pinch...
A local joint with friendly people. There were a variety of foods to choose from and there were daily specials. The crab pretzel and wings were delicious.
Very good wings, the Buffalo is the best. The chicken chesapeake entree was excellent as well. They advertise as cheap beer and cheap food so you save money. The taste of the beer and food was nothing close to cheap. This is not a kid friendly bar and grill. The decor is a bit dated and the layout is tight, but it is worth it for the food.

If your looking for a real lump crab cake then this is your go to spot. You can get broiled or fried. They also have pasta as well as complimentary salad with breadsticks. You can get a variety of drinks such as Sangria for as little as $5
Very good food. A bit pricey but you get a lot of food. Fresh food. Probably one of the better restaurants in Aberdeen. No complaints.
After reading the mixed reviews of the Olive Tree in Aberdeen, I had to try it to decide for myself whether or not I liked it. Right off the bat I asked me server if the meat sauce was all beef. It is. The Olive Garden's is NOT. So I wind up ordering an angel hair with meat sauce, my standard by which to judge. The salad was one plate, not a bowl, but that's ok. It was enough to tide me over until the pasta came out. IT WAS SUPERB!!!! The perfect blend of pasta to meat sauce, spices, everything. I wound up taking only a small portion home with me for later. My server was very attentive, but forgot to give me my check. Seriously I could have taken my doggie bag and walked out. I couldn't do that though. I was raised better than that. I tracked the manager down and paid my tab. I'll definitely be returning!!
