This was my first time here. ..what a gem! They have an amazing beer selection and an eclectic menu. The Eastham oysters were plump and delicious with 2 unusual sauces. They have a small plate menu as well as larger portions. The pan seared scollops topped with crispy carrot were cooked to perfection. We sat at the bar and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I will definitely go back...

Went and had the chicken tikka masala frites - good flavor but very salty. The pumpkin pie martini was deliciously perfect Our waiter (Sean) was awesome - super friendly and efficient - exactly what you want in an employee both as a customer and as an employer. The layout of the place needs some work. There is a major bottleneck where the dining room ends and it's just very awkward overall to have the dining tables so close to the bar. Nobody wants to spent most of their time being in the way of one person or another. I'm thinking they really need to have a bar menu out back. We would have preferred to eat back there but were told that we couldn't.

Excellent and changing beer selection, live music in the front and back rooms heading into the weekend, friendly and informed staff that engage customers and know the menu. New World's a different take on the beer pub experience that's happening around town; The menu is tapas style with an asian influence but some pub standards as well. Be sure to go Charcuterie a la carte and the Poutine! The duck Poutine totally (no Plymouth Pun intended) rocks... har har

Ordered a falafel that was so dry there wasnt enough water to get through it. The bun it cam with was overpowering in a white bread kind of way. Had no flavor but was big and too hard to eat as the falafel was overcooked should have been smaller. Although the nachos where delicious.

Headed down to Plymouth yesterday evening sans children to meet up with my parents for dinner at The New World Tavern. This place is a gem of a restaurant and after now having visited once we will be sure to be back soon. For an appetizer we had Island Creek Oysters from Duxbury. It can't get any more fresh than oysters pulled ashore hours before serving. A spicy, citrus oil complemented the oysters well. NWT is known for having a remarkable craft beer selection both in the bottle and on draught and I went with the Bad Martha Beer Vineyard Summer and Beth Ann had the Sunfish from Sea Dog Brewing. Both were a great light, summery offering perfect to cool off the heat of the day. For dinner, I opted for the NWT Burger (well done) which came with lettuce , tomato, gouda cheese, bacon and a fried egg on top of a fresh and soft roll. The burger was cooked perfectly and the toppings were amazing. The Mrs. had the banh mi sandwich that featured shaved pork on a crusty roll with the traditional Asian slaw atop the sandwich. All sandwiches are served with addicting hand cut waffle fries that were dynamite. My parents had a grilled chicken sandwich that was raved about and a margarita flat bread I stole a piece of that was something I probably will order next time thanks to the fresh tomatoes and mozzarella on top of the wood grilled flat bread. NWT is a great craft beer bar that focuses not just on great beer but on complementing the beer with really good food. If you haven't been there yet, please check it out!

This is my favorite place in town to get a drink when I am home. The beer list is pretty extensive and the staff make good recommendations. Even if you 'aren't a beer person' you are sure to find a bottle that you like. It is always fun to come when there is live music. I've never had a problem finding a seat at the bar or getting a table. Will be sure to update once I try the food!

I went there for the first time with friends (triva night). The atmosphere was incredibly friendly. The beer list was awesome and extensive. You'll definitely find something to explore if you're a hop-head. The food was excellent. Pretty fancy and something you might expect in Boston. Service was friendly and timed perfectly.

Impressive craft beer selection and innovative menu. We've only eaten here once and while everything we ordered sounded great, it fell a bit short. My other issue is that the service has left much to be desires both times we've been. Once it was a Saturday afternoon during the World Cup, it wasn't terribly busy but hush enough to warrant more than the one server for the whole place. Our food arrived before our beers and I had to flag someone down to take both orders. This past time we sat at the bar and it still felt like it took ages and many failed attempts at gaining the eye contact of the bartenders to order a brew. Both times we've gone we've seen the bartender/s chatting for awhile and have had a significant delay in getting our beers. We will likely return but I'll skip the food and hope to snag a seat at the bar so I have a better chance at getting my beer in a reasonable amount of time.

This review is more like 3.5 stars but upped to 4 because had I been a beer lover, this is probably the place to go. We strolled in here after learning that Sabor was closed for a private party last night but no matter, since this was also on our list. I love restaurants that serve dishes tapas style because you know what that means! More variety of dishes for us to try :) We ordered the following: Octopus - Ugh, do yourself a favor and don't get this. It's just not prepared very well. It's completely soaked in olive oil and didn't have much flavor at all - 1 star. Soba Noodles - This was rather tasty for it not being an actual Korean restaurant. Signature sesame glazed noodles - 3.5 stars Tuna Cubes - Now this was a surprise. If you looked at the ingredients (seaweed, tobiko, avocado and wasabi), you'd think these would taste like the usual tuna sashimi but I tell you, they threw in the prawn cracker and made the whole thing taste different. Definitely worth a try - 4 stars New World Flatbread - By far my favorite out of all of the plates we ordered. Disclaimer: you may need to love both figs and arugula to love this flatbread but the crust was also nice and crunchy. I loved the combo of all these ingredients and thought they worked very well together and was very flavorful. Highly recommend - 5 stars This is definitely a good local place to try out if you're looking for a larger beer selection and some great flatbread pizza.

My first visit here was this winter. We had a tough winter and I thought it may have had an influence on my opinion of this establishment. I met friends here again last night on a beautiful summer eve, and I just can't figure out the appeal of this place. It seems like it may be trying to be a Boston Bistro, but this isn't Boston and it falls very short on the bistro part also. It seems to be a place where people go to be seen, or to fool themselves that they are being trendy and hip? Or there are just so few offerings in the area? Both times I was impressed with the beer selection, but both times I found the taste or flavors just not meeting my expectations. Both times visiting I had a hard time making food choices. My biggest concern was the prices seemed to be out of line with the offerings. So I thought for the price listed I should be blown away by the food and I just wasn't. The first time here I got the burger, like I said thought it should wow me, the only thing I thought wow was...wow this is just frozen Sysco type food heated up for me. Nothing fresh, tasty or exciting about it at all. On my more recent visit I decided to opt for a "special" figuring it would show some signature appeal from the chef.....again over priced, bland tasting food that tastes like I could get any number of places or even make at home. Both times here I thought there was a very big issue with the service. Everyone here is just going through the motions. No one was friendly, engaged or mildly social. On my most recent visit I could tell that there were some summer tourists there. No wonder the New England area is sometimes thought to be cold or reserved.

Considering I have been here on a regular basis for years now I needed to do an update. Things they are changing at NWT... Ok so first the menu has shrunk , A LOT. You can no longer get Boston Lettuce Cups or some light filling apps. What you can get is a now $13 burger, $12 for a scallop plate with THREE scallops on it, yes JUST THREE! It's passed the line of absurd. The place is essentially a gastro pub which is great and in general at a gastro pub you expect great beer (which they have) and great pub food with a fine dining flare. The Chef at NWT is no doubt great but I think his menu is more suited for Newbury Street and not Court Street. You will not leave here feeling satisfied or full unless you want to order two entrees. They continue to change and evolve the menu which is generally a positive but they continue to offer the shitty frozen waffle fries...so you will whip up a $12 scallop plate with daring sauces but you will just deep fry some weak ass cardboard tasting waffle fries? That hard to bust some Idahos through a fry cutter? I know the rent is high in their spot as I was friendly with the previous tenant there. You can tell corners are being cut to increase revenue. You wont find a bigger draft selection on Court Street downtown but you will find better food. I would say try NOSH where EVERYTHING is made from scratch. even the ketchup, that and the prices are appropriate and the owner keeps a solid draft selection of some craft beer legends.

The bar is good here, the music is too. The problem with the New World is that the menu and food situation in general makes no sense. They are now trying to be a tapas place or something like that and it just does not work. In fact, I'm writing this review while outside waiting for my food. Since they are trying to do tapas, they will bring things to your table in a random manner instead of bringing it all at once. This makes sense if you are out for tapas, but when 90% of the orders from the table are not from the tapas menu the sever should be able to put two and two together. They used to have a killer steak and cheese sub there. I wish they still had stuff like that.

Expectations should be low for the bar on a weekend. Bartender had to be asked for every round, every water refill. Crazy loud. Like people screaming. Not busy enough to warrant the lack of service. Food was ambitious but why? It's a pub. Appreciate a chef trying to bring variety and kick the locals understanding of food up but serving roasted marrow with a blues band playing in the background is a mismatch. Special was $20 and didn't impress. One special, one burger 2 beers each $70. Go on a night when three bartenders actually means service will be worthy of dropping good money for a ho hum I feel like I could've done better experience.

I've been here a lot, I enjoy the new world tavern on the regular. Great time and great space. A little off on the decor, but the beer makes up for lack of interior design. This is the first time I sat at a table here and my girlfriend and I had Liz as our server. She was fantastic, super friendly knowledgable and exactly what we were looking for on a Tuesday night. Chatty, smiley, and engaging, she rocked! We actually ordered dessert and another beer because of how awesome Liz was. She wasn't pushy, annoying or any other trait that servers adopt at the end of a meal. Just a friendly smiling face, ready to serve us with exactly what we want. I would stray away from the bar again just to sit in her section. Which is very rare for a bartender to say.

The atmosphere was nice and family friendly! The services was good however I was not impressed with the food.. We ordered duck wings that the services recommended, the were dry and hard. The sobe pasta was gross. I would go back but would stick to ordering a burger!! The chick peas had no taste. I thought it would be more like hummus.../

Love their epic beer selection. Usually stick to porters and stouts myself but have dabbled into many other options as well. Only issue I have is a minor one, they need to bring back the loaded waffle fries and return some of their removed booths. Definitely try the Jamaican jerk wings and the steamed pork buns.

Visited this past weekend after viewing delicious food pics on phantom gourmets Instagram. The service was a little slow at first but our waitress was extremely awesome! She was so informative and educated on the menu and all of the 30+ beers on tap. As an appetizer we decided to try something a little different that we had never tried. We went with the pork belly sticky buns per her reccomendation. They were excellent. So flavorful and with several different textures I would totally order it again. For our meals I got the grilled cheese had a few different expensive cheeses on it and an interesting dipping sauce that tasted somewhat like honey with a spicy kick. My boyfriend got the Don Juan burger his looked unreal and he said it was. I would prob try a different entree next time the grilled cheese was great but could've used a little more cheese for the thick bread it was on. Drinks - I tried this caramel type beer on tap that was very tasty but also wicked heavy you can only drink one of these bad Larry's and it comes in a smaller goblet rather then A tall glass. We ended up getting a "flight" of 5 brews that was only 10 bucks. Worth it for sure especially being the type of cat that isn't a beer connoisseur. The waitress made a great mixed board for us of lights to dark we liked all of them but were able to pick a favorite to get a full glass of. I believe her name was Shelly and I really appreciated her opinions and friendliness. Cool place we can't wait to go back!!!

Freaking awesome!! Hundreds of beers by the bottle. Thirty craft beers on draft. Plus a large bar menu. I ordered a Flight of 5 beers for $10 - Cape Cod Blonde, a Corsedonk Apple Witte, a Uinta BaBa Black Lager, a Wachusett Blueberry Ale, and a Left Hand Milk Stout. I enjoyed them all, but the Corsedonk Apple Witte was the absolute best of the lot. Light, Apple-y, refreshing -it was amazing. We stopped in after perusing the cool shops on Main Street. A full 12 oz of the Corsedonk was $12, a Merlot was $9 and a Bavarian Pretzel for sharing was just $3. The decor is very attractive and the service was fine. There is a Grateful Dead Cover Band playing tonight. Plymouth is a pretty cool town indeed!

We went twice this weekend and loved this place. Great food and drinks. Incredibly vast and diverse beer selection. The Ginger Juju beer and the margaritas made with fresh lime juice and agave sweetener were awesome. The steamed buns were a bit pricy ($5 for one) but excellent. The New World grilled cheese and the flatbreads were big hits. All 5 of us loved this place and had excellent service both times we went. Totally worth it.

Came here for a dinner one Friday night since we were looking for something a little different than our usual spots in Plymouth. The beer selection is expansive and amazing - if you enjoy trying different kinds of beers, you should come here. The service was pretty average, nothing remarkable or horrible. The food was slightly better than average. I ordered their famous grilled cheese sandwich, and while it was tasty, I do not think it was especially delicious or amazing as other people have mentioned. My fiance ordered the boston lettuce cups which were bland and lacking in any flavor whatsoever. We probably won't come back as there are so many better options for dinner in Plymouth.

This is one of my favorite places to go to just relax with friends and get a beer. They have the largest beer menu i have ever seen, so if you are a beer person, this place is definitely for you. I have also had dinner here and the food is really good.

The beer selection is amazing and they offer an interesting albeit limited menu. I was expecting basic pub burgers, but everything was dialed up a little. We went with a friend and her child, although there is no kid's menu, they had no trouble making the grilled cheese a little more "kid-friendly," which was very appreciated. The burger I had was excellent, and everything is served with waffle fries, and who DOESN'T like that?

Their beers are NOT fresh. As a matter of fact, they sell the "red codes" from L. Knife. Red codes are old, expired beer or near expiration. The owners both worked for L. Knife and the owner, Gerry, bank rolled them. Terrible service and the food is so sloppy.

I came here tonight with my boyfriend. We have been here before but I felt compelled to review solely based on the service we received tonight. The food is amazing. But the service is impeccable. Tonight we were lucky enough to be served by Sean. Talk about a genuinely happy and service oriented waiter! My bf and I were blown away by how attentive he was and just by his enthusiasm. It's extremely rare to get a server like Sean. I asked the female server, Rachel, for the manager or owner but they weren't present. I would have liked to compliment their staff! I also have to add that Rachel walked by a few times just to check in with us and she isn't even our server. Wow guys... Service kicks ass here. That makes me wanna come back!

Overall, I was impressed with NWT. As one of the flood of new taverns in Plymouth, their menu rises above. The duck poutine was VERY good. I think the poutine and a beer may become my new favorite mid week treat. Everyone in my group enjoyed their dishes (recommended: grilled cheese and New World pizzetta). Speaking of beer... Wow, what a list! Great selection and some things that really caught my eye - a $300 9-liter bottle of a Belgian tripel - I have to know at some point but I think I would need help putting that one away. My only reluctance for the 5th star was the pricing for some of the menu. Overall, I though the prices were good but a few things seemed a little steep. Our bill for 4 was about $125 and we each had 2 drinks so not too bad but it's up there. I have to admit that our dinner that night was totally worth it. We'll keep checking them out!

I was here one night with my my best friend, her girlfriend and friends to watch an amazing woman perform in the backroom. New World Tavern has a great menu, a great vibe, and great bartenders. They were friendly and fun! Bartenders who give you genuine smiles? Who knew :)

Great beer selection.. Kentucky Bourbon Barrell Ale on top... enough said. Went on a Saturday night and there was a band in the back room. People were around the stage and dancing... really fun. There's separate bar in the back room with limited beverage options. The front of the bar was quieter but still fun, a good place to gather with friends if you actually want to have a conversation. Didn't try the food, would like to go back, maybe for brunch. Oh and the staff is pretty awesome. Some drunk college kid started saying some pretty ridiculous things to me and my friends (a group of all girls). A guy nearby overheard and stepped in and this drunk guy proceeded to start a fight with the guy... bartender and bouncer were all over it within 10 seconds and kicked the drunk guy out. Good heads up.

We were invited to a birthday party at the New World Tavern located in downtown Plymouth by a family member who is a frequent customer. First of all, the restaurant is really cute and much bigger than it looks. It is certainly a come-as-you-are kind of place and offers an extensive beer list. To me, the beer list was a little daunting as I felt a little embarrassed wanting to order a Bud Lite. However, the staff is extremely knowledgeable and if you just tell them what kind of beers you like, they will help you pick out something that you'll be sure to like. The beer I ordered ... well, I could barely pronounce it, but it tasted like a Blue Moon concoction and it was quite delicious. For craft beers, this place is a gem. Hubs and I decided to have dinner while we were there. I ordered the fish tacos that consisted of three small flour tortillas, fried haddock (it provided a nice "crunch"), pico de gallo, creme fraiche, lettuce, and some type of cheese. Fish tacos aren't necessarily the type of entree you would order in a bar, but they were absolutely delicious and were on par with the fish tacos from Wahoo's in Los Angeles. Now that's a high honor! They were awesome and were totally filling. Hubs had a burger that he thoroughly enjoyed and had no complaints (okay, I had some of the fries from his plate, too!) Great beer, great food, friendly staff, and a cool place to meet friends and grab a drink. Will certainly be back!

After seeing this place on Phantom Gourmet my girlfriend and I knew we had to try it! We were impressed to find live music for lunch and an incredible draft menu and food menu. Drinks were great - both got beers on draft. Started with the pork belly buns and buttermilk sticks with three different sauces. Both were suburb and not your typical bar food. We shared a chicken and prosciutto sandwich which was fantastic. The waffle fries are awesome too! This place does not disappoint!

Absolutely love this place, and it's a total must for beer snobs. They have an amazing selection of beers from all over the world. The beer menu is so big that it's difficult to pick just one beer. Service is pretty impressive and there's a reasonable amount of seating. It's as if a coffeehouse decided to start serving beer and pub food, given the ambiance. My personal favorite is the grilled cheese, who is a cut above your standard grilled cheese at any other restaurant. Highly, HIGHLY recommended for those who love craft beer. This is the mecca of it on the south shore.

I really wanted to like this place when I heard about the chef's background but we were sorely disappointed. The portions for every dish we got were very small and though some of them had great flavors (the octopus) we left the table having spent $35+ per head and we literally went to dinner somewhere else. It's the first time I've ever done that! I think the thing to order here is beer, burgers and nachos. Which is fine, but that's a waste of this chef's talent, I think! We saw other people getting these dishes and the portions were generous.

Went in here with my daughter (22) and baby grandson. Awesome selection of draft beers. Took over 10 minutes for a waitress to co.e over and there were 3 of them. Place was 1/2 empty. Had a new dish for me bone marrow with oxtail roulade. Amazing! Would come back if alone of not with infant in tow.

Service is okay, and that's the best I can say. By okay I mean we saw her once every 40 minutes or so. We had to get our own drinks from the bar multiple times on a slow night that we paid an extra cover for to see a comedy show. 17 dollars for nachos with chicken. Chips were stale, "melted" cheese was cold, chicken was dry, jalapeños were canned, and guacamole and sour cream were just nonexistent. The drinks are overpriced and poorly mixed. We didn't even go on a busy night, it was a Monday.

Went here Sunday. They have a great beer selection 100 bottled beers. We got the pork belly steam buns and the were very good, but I was expecting them to be unbelievable from other reviews. We got the fish tacos and pulled pork tacos. Both were very tasty. Overall this place was good and I would go back again but it didn't blow me away.

Great beer selection, we split two orders of the pork belly buns between four of us. I thought they were going to be heavy but they were ah-mazing! Whatever the bun is, it's light and fully, the pork belly crisp and I've been dreaming about them ever since. I had the fish tacos - they were...ok. I liked the salsa and queso but the fish was supposed to be fried and crispy but came out soggy and mushy. My husband/friends had burgers that they enjoyed. I'm looking forward to going back...I had my eye on one of the pizza's and I'd like to try the wings.

Go for the pretzel app, stay for the, well, nothing else. The description of the pretzels does not do them justice. A good number of pretzel bites are placed on the table with several accouterments. 3 kinds of salt (pink, coral, and lava), maple sugar, and a few dipping sauces (among them a mustard that I could've just drink solo) had us wowed. Sadly, the entrees were sub par. Dry turkey sandwich, so so burger, and a normal reuben (because really, it would be sad to mess that up).

Would like to give 3 1/2 stars but not quite 4. Really nice little place on Main Street. We came to Plymouth for the day and grabbed some lunch here. The live music was a little loud but that's probably just the old person in me. We had the poutine for an app which was really yummy, I just wish they made home made fries, it would make a big difference. Great beer selection and food is good. Service is a little slow but all in all a good place.

Great beer selection. The bone marrow and oxtail app was very good. My wife had the nwt pizzette which was really good. I was disappointed with the cranberry buffalo wings. I thought they were kind of bland and the wings themselves were wimpy. The place is nice inside and has a huge bar. We will definitely be back to try some other food items.

Excellent menu - all sorts of unique, yet palatable items such as an awesome take on corn/seafod chowder, an excellent fig pizza, killer wings (try the cranberry buffalo sauce) - as well as a laundry list of beer on tap, as well as in bottles. If you like beer, music, and awesome menu items - this place is for you. Additionally all the beer taps are against the back wall, as opposed to many chain restaurants where they are in your face. The service is prompt, good eats for kids, and often I have been pleasantly surprise by the live music acts - that are always better than the average (blues hacks). They also have a stage for live music in the back, and they occasionally play entire albums by the Beatles! (All around excellent music). For a well rounded experience for you and your entire family, or solo, or couples - they offer it all!

Love, love the beer selection here. And in Plymouth! The food is great, too. It's rare to find alternative/yummy vegetarian food choices down on the South Shore. And the music here - bluegrass on Saturdays, among others, is a breath of fresh air. And the comfy seating/couches... I just love this place.

VERY impressive beer list. 32 beers on tap and an advertised 100 in bottles. We came here w/ my craft beer-loving hubby and Uncle and they both seemed to really enjoy themselves. Sampler of 5 was only $10! I had the special cocktail: a pineapple margarita. It was only okay (pineapple was canned) - should've stuck w/ the beer sampler. Food was fairly overpriced. I had the cranberry and ponzu glazed wings. I liked the cranberry buffalo wings a lot, but could've used more cranberry and they could've been fried less dry. I also tasted the New World pizza and the waffle fries. I would order both again next time. I'd stay away from the beet salad, though. The portion size was ridiculously tiny. I would def return. It was a clean, laid-back place (with good service!) to hang out with my Plymouth family who I don't get to see very often.

This is a great spot for craft beer aficionados. Amazing rotating selection of microbrews served perfectly. One of the top beer bars south of Boston. The staff knows their stuff. Also, nice entertainment schedule. The blues guy on Thursday is top flight. I'll be back many times.

Great beer menu. I love cider and they have my absolute favourite, Crispin! Tough to find anything besides Magners in most bars. I got the Bison burger which was killer. Friend had the grilled cheese and said it was great. We got the nachos.. nothing special but good. Down side... when there is a band playing, the band takes up a good portion of seating.. making it difficult to find a place to sit. We ate on our laps by the window on stools. But we are troopers, we had a good time.

We've been here for dinner and drinks a few times, and it's always good. The first time we went, I had a grilled cheese sandwich with some upgraded buffalo waffle fries. I highly recommend this meal. The sandwich was a delicious grown up version of the comfort classic we all know and love. The bread was thick cut and loaded with fancy cheeses. The waffle fries, which are great even when they're plain, were even better when loaded with buffalo sauce and chunks of blue cheese. It was a nice combination. The service is pretty good, the beer selection is great, and the food is a modest upgrade from your standard tavern fare. The ambience is the only thing that makes it a 4 instead of a 5; nothing wrong with it, but it's nothing special.

The New World Tavern is one of the few bars in the area that are just really, really up and above the rest. The only reason I wouldn't give this place 5 stars is simply because the lack of seating available on nights where they have live music, but lets get into the real point of the review. We got to the pub around 7pm on a weeknight, and grabbed a booth parallel to the main bar. We heard some live music going on in the other room, which was great for people looking for a more segregated experience when it comes to live music crowds and others just looking for a good time and quick bite to eat. The waitress quickly came over and offered up the specials, though she had been pushing the alcohol and wine a little more then what we had expected. I got the Great White Buffalo Burger (buffalo meat, lettuce, tomatoes, truffle emulsion with a fig ketchup) which came with waffle fries (no substitute available, but when they came out, so thankful because they were amaaaazing.) We enjoyed the ambiance of the place; the music wasn't too loud, the TVs were quiet, it was busy, but not crowded, and the staff were all nice enough to stop and have a conversation when they came about. I had ordered the 4$ special of the night, a pomegranate whit-beer (brand wasn't listed, but most likely Leinenkugel) which came out fast, cold, and delicious. The price was pretty on spot for drinks, however, the food was extremely cheap for what we got, which was an amazing surprise. I'd love to visit a 2nd and 3rd time to make sure my assumptions were right about here, but from the initial stay, I would certainly return and change this to a 5/5.

It's Plymouth. a potentially mind-numbing tourist town. Yet, right on the main drag there is the New World Tavern. This place is as close to perfect as you can get for this area. The food, the service and the beer selections are all top shelf. If your a beer aficionado, ask for the ten buck sampler. Even better, if you go Thursday evening, you get to hear Mark T Small sing and play a mixture of originals and roots blues. He's a world class guitar player, and there's no cover charge. If I lived in Plymouth, I'd go there every week.....a summer tourist town gem as well as,a warm winter retreat.

If you're into trying craft beers, you're going to love this place. This is pretty much the main draw of this place. My boyfriend had 2 flights of beers because he enjoys sampling beers that he hasn't had. We each ordered an app: pretzels for me, cranberry wings for him. We enjoyed both. For entrees I had the grilled cheese which was certainly better than your run of the mill grilled cheese - loved the truffle honey that it came with. My boyfriend had a buffalo burger which he also really enjoyed. The atmosphere was a little strange - kind of like they never fully 'moved in'. Lacks decor and seems kind of empty. We sat at a booth that was oddly the only table with a table cloth on it? Service was timely and we didn't wait long for food/drink refills. The bottom line: If the beer list draws you in, the food will satisfy - but I wouldn't go solely out of your way for the food if you could care less about craft beers.

Great beer selection and they offer a "flight" or sampler of beer and you can pick 5 beers to sample. Nice cozy restaurant for dinner but they also have a large back room with live music on weekends (possibly during the week too?) I got the Don Juan burger (turkey) and it was delicious...the fried egg on top made it! Waffle fries are crispy and salty. We also had the cranberry buffalo wings for an appetizer- awesome spicy/sweet flavors going on. If this place wasn't as much of a hike I would go back often, i think. Parking is street only but not that difficult...there is a public lot close by. Prices and service are average; not bad by any means but nothing special either.

Fantastic beer selection. I loved their comprehensive beer menu which even included the IBU of each beer. For someone that likes mild beers, that was a godsend! They were having an Oktoberfest beer promotion and they really did have a great selection of German beers that we've never seen anywhere else. I ended up getting an Angry Orchard and my partner tried out one of the German beers. I loved the little details like each drink came in an official brand mug or glass. We decided to go with two starters and chose the steamed duck buns and the waffle fries with cheese. The duck buns were amazing. You only get two (hey, duck is expensive) but they are packed with goodness and flavorful. Even more delicious, were the waffle fries. Tons of fries loaded with cheese and very crispy. Prices were pretty good. The music wasn't my favorite (loaded with loud, whiny guitars) but I'd stop in again if for nothing else than those fries and the amazing beer list.

Came here for some Sunday Funday beverages. Since we were in the fall spirit, we got some pumpkin pie martinis and pumpkin beers and enjoyed these while we people watched from their comfy couches up front. The martinis were a bit pricey but they were well made and definitely tasted like pumpkin. Our service was great, our bartender and server were very helpful and attentive. The only complaint was that some of their pumpkin beers were tapped and not replaced since they were switching over to Oktoberfest beers.

We ordered four meals and none if us were too pleased. So sad, this was one of my favorite in-town places and now I have no interest in eating here again. Their beer list is great though. Great little tavern in a nice location. It has the feel of a small town tavern inside, but the upscale pub style menu and daily draft list make feel like your at a larger place like the BBC or Yard house. The beer selection would impress just about anybody and the food will Not disappoint either. The burgers, sandwiched and waffle cut fries were outstanding, huge value for the price and well presented Inside it's pretty simple pub tables, a few comfy booths an tons of AC, made me wish there was some outdoor seating. The reason it doesn't bet 5 stars for its category? Feels like to arctic and closed in for a beautiful summer night and unfortunately the famous bagel bites were too hard and greasy. Will return in the fall.

The food is good - and if you are a Craft Beer fan - like my husband than this is a great place because the South Shore has such a limited option for good Craft selections. I prefer wine and have been happy with the wine I have gotten. The actual menu is a bit unsophisticated for the place (copy paper that needs to be proofread better), but the food is good. It would be nice if they'd get some more booths or low tables. They only have 2 and they are always full. I'm short and HATE pub tables...and older people like my in-laws were not thrilled that it was our only option. We've been several times and brought our son once...I won't again, it's not a kids place and if you need to utilize the high chair having to sit at a pub table doesn't work...The tables are really my only complaints. Food = good....beer/wine= good...I recommend it to people and hope they make it and keep getting better.

There's a fairly impressive beer selections and reasonably priced, but what I personally found more impressive was the glass rinser and the bar staffs use of appropriate glassware. Can you drink a beer out of any glass? Sure you can, and I normally do. Is it a nice to get the correct glass for that specific type of beer? Yes and the additional use of the rinser to make sure you have a clean glass that's not piping hot from the dishwasher is always welcomed. There was a little confusion when I first arrived in regards to seating. The bartender said it was first come, first serve for the tables. However, when one opened up and I went to sit down one of the waiters told me there was a list, he took my name and apologized for the confusion. Not a huge deal, but they might want to consider a host / hostess to cut back on those types of issues. Luckily seats at the bar opened up shortly thereafter. Bartender was really nice, attentive and made herself available for questions without hovering. There was a duo on a small stage in the dining area playing music and later on there was a Led Zeppelin tribute band playing in the back. Apparently there is live music every Friday and Saturday and never a cover. Bonus! On to the food. In my opinion, the duck poutin, which is a brilliant idea slightly missed the mark. The gravy was too thin and under seasoned. I think a little more salt or better yet some Worcestershire would have really made the flavor pop while some roux or a little corn starch slurry would have gone a long way to remedy the thinness. The cranberry buffalo wings where good sized, not the tiny sparrow wings some places try to sell. While the size of them was good, the cooking was not. Wings are supposed to have a crispy skin, these did not. The texture was slightly rubbery, like they have been steamed instead of fried. Sadly the sauce wasn't impressive either. I was expecting a buffalo based sauce with a tang of cranberry or some sort of thick cranberry reduction with heat. What I got was what tasted like steamed wings tossed in thinned down cranberry sauce sprinkled with whole craisins, there was no heat what so ever. Something was wrong with blue cheese dressing as well, I dipped a carrot stick in it and it had no taste. Blue cheese dressing, even the cheap store bought kind has a flavor. This had clumps like blue cheese dressing but tasted like it have been seriously watered down with sour cream. The New world Pizzeatta was pretty good and priced comparable to other flatbreads I've eaten. I might have liked to have a little more apple-onion spread, but it was good all the same. I don't know if they chose to use "speck" as a nod to jolly old England or not but I would really recommend just calling it prosciutto. Nobody knows what speck is and when you list it second to last on the ingredients nobody is really paying much mind to it anyway. Prosciutto is amazing, expensive and has huge flavor. You should capitalize on it and all its porky goodness. Dessert was a dense chocolate brownie with a raspberry coulis and peanut butter whipped cream. This was a solid dessert with plenty to share. Brownie was moist, the coulis was tart and bright, and although I'm not a huge peanut butter fan but I applaud the creativity of the whipped cream. The New World Tavern could have been a grand slam, sadly it fell just a bit short. I give it three stars based on the beer and the staff.

I used to like this place. The food was decent and they had live music. The problem now is the place now turns into a zoo on the weekends and the food/service has followed suit. We patiently waited for a table but there is no place to wait which makes it uncomfortable if the place is full. They bouncer did nothing to enforce tables and I watched as people just sat in dirty tables as soon as they opened up. So lesson learned, don't put your name in, just scout for an open table and go for it. I digress back to the menu and beer. The beer menu has gone downhill. It used to have some good rarities but the crap that was on tap this weekend is becoming the new normal. I don't know what happened but its time to rethink your concept. We ordered the wings, the cheese board, and the chowder. The wings were cold by the time we got them. I couldn't get the server to come back to even ask how things were. When I said they were cold, she shrugged, and removed them. Best thing, they still charged us for them. The cheese and meat plate is 21$, now I'm not expecting an entire block of cheese, but this was a joke. The cheese was decent but a few slices for 21$ is a joke. Also they served us the but end of the meat. Finally, the chowder, now I mean who screws up chowder right? Well it tasted like someone dumped the entire salt shaker in there. I couldn't get past it. Once again the waitress took no note and didn't bother to ask. So bottom line, if you like crappy beer selection, with crappy food, and crappy service, this is the place for you. There are too many other good places in plymouth now. A lot of them have decent beer lists with less taps and better food and service. I won't be back and I suggest you look elsewhere as well. -A

They are lightly sprinkled with blue cheese and so delicious! Good serving size too :) We enjoyed the live music (it was early evening on a Saturday) and atmosphere.

It attracts a strange assortment of bro-dudes and high-heeled girly girls mixed with off-work suits and mom and pops who still like to party. Unless you're here during the afternoon, while it's quiet, for a nice brew, I would stay head to the BBC or Driftwood (both can also be loud, but better ambience)

Eh. Been here once before to drink but didn't eat. This time, my friend and I stopped in for dinner while her boyfriend was getting tattooed next door. They have a great beer selection. Not sure about specialty drinks. Our waitress was goddamn slow as hell. It took forever to get menus and even longer to order. The bartender was more attentive to us than our own waitress. He brought our drinks over and even offered to give us menus. Nachos were just ok. Nothing special. Nothing beats the BBQ pork nachos from Fat Cat. The duck buns were very good, although it came with only 2 small buns for something like $12. We were disappointed with that. Clam chowder was ok. It came out only slightly warm & I had to have them heat it up. My friend got some butternut squash soup that came in a champagne flute? Once she poured it into her bowl it barely covered the bottom and it wasn't even good. We were STILL hungry after all we ordered, so we got one of the pizzas too. Seems like they skimp on portions here. And the food took friggin forever to come out. I dunno. I guess I'd give it another shot if I had to.

We spent a day in Plymouth. This place was one of a couple of places where we wanted to sample local beers. As such it did not disappoint. The selection was impressive, although there was a confusion with the menus, the beer I originally wanted to order, based on the menu hanging at the front door was not on the menu that was served inside. We did not have any food, the food we saw others eat looked decent, but I am not sure I would come here solely to eat. However, if you love craft local beer and are in Plymouth, you should definitely give this place a go!

Lots of beer on tap. Lots of beers. Do yourself a favor and read the beer menu before ordering your usual brew. The food is very good for a tavern atmosphere. I had the Don Juan burger with he fried egg - it was excellent. The place has a couple of drawbacks. First, it's logistically set up poorly. There's a room with a stage down the hall from the bar. The stage occupies most of the room, Secondly, there are 2 support pillars in the bar counter, effectively making it feel like 3 cramped bars versus on long bar. It juts feels weird, plus it kills TV viewing.

This place has the potential to become an obsession of mine with just a few minor tweaks, I went here a short time ago with my girlfriend and we were blown away by the beer and drink menu when we first sat down. We unfortunately the most awkward server Ever. We saw her staring at us when we sat and didn't think much of it till she came over and stood there for a good 3 long silent seconds, but she was very nice and aside from not having the ingredients to make 2 of the drinks on special we found some great substitute beverages. The drinks here are out of this world, but the food is a bit pricey, which is fine if it comes out as advertised. The soft shell crab buns were perfect but the menu should maybe explain that it s very small, the burger would have been amazing if the suny side egg was not cooked through and the burger and bun were both scorched, not charred like a good bun but burned and tasting like coal. The waffle fries are an absolute must have. I like this place, I will be back and I expect it to just keep getting better. The beer list is beyond impressive also.

we are getting married in the area in May and sought out The New World Tavern as our after reception place to mingle. At first I was very pleased with the Tavern when we visited there. Fun space, nice bartenders, had a good vibe. We were asked to emailtheir owners on making sure we could bring the party there . I got one of the rudest and unfriendly response from whoever handles the emailing. With no.explanation they denied that we bring our party there. I'm very offendd and flabbergasted that they don't want our business in May. They would of made a pretty penny off our group and I would sugest if your bringing a birthday party here or any other function avoid it.

Horrible. At first it was fine. Went with a friend and sat at a table about 15 feet away from the bar. A man came and got us our drinks pretty quickly (we were the only ones there). Then his shift ended and he said goodbye as he walked out the front door. Now there was one person at the bar and us. Half hour goes by... no server. 45 minutes... and I yelled over to the bartender, "We'd like food!" He just stood there staring, then finally yelled back, "Whaddya want?" What? He doesn't come over? Whaddya want? How about service? So my friend yelled back, "Nachos!" Twenty minutes later... they finally arrived. I wish they didn't. They were DISGUSTING! Coagulated cheddar with some horrible "salsa"... and some funky white sauce drizzled over the whole thing. Inedible. Service - horrible. Food - disgusting. Ambiance - none

Waited over an hour for our food which came at the same time as the appetizers. The appetizers were good but the main dishes were horrible. I got a burger that was cold. The cheese was hard and congealed and the bun was stale. The fries were also cold and also overcooked almost to the point of being burnt. My wife got chicken kabobs that could be mistaken for dry ice cubes. My friend got fish and chips. The fish was miniscule and coated in a thick layer of hard (and cold) cornflake batter that he could barely cut through. The beer selection is great and reasonably priced and the band was awesome. This is why I gave it two stars rather than one or none. I will go back to have beer and see live music but I'll make sure I eat somewhere else beforehand.

This place is ALL about the beer. They get it right! Great selection. If you love beer, you will not be disappointed. From Belgium's on down, they have it. The food is a little eclectic which I think is a plus. A little outside the box thinking on classic fare. I had a pepper crusted cheeseburger w/ bacon, coarse mustard and an egg over easy atop. Nice.They seem to be experimenting a bit and maybe will have a revolving menu. That would be interesting. Great time, good service and some of the best beer in the world.

Beer...it is made bread and good for you! Good beer in New England! Plenty of taps and they were clean! They had rewrite the beer menu because they had replaced two of the kegs from the night before. All very good beer signs. I had the white buffalo burger which was good but ten time better with quality beer. I recommend the $10 flight of beers. I was allowed to pick five beers and had nice size sample of each.

Once again, high hopes for a downtown Plymouth establishment. Let me first say that if you like beer, this is a great place, just don't eat there!! The beer selection is the most extensive I've seen outside of the city and prices for beer were good. Our server began by asking us "how youz doin'?" and proceeded with "what can I get youz?" The homemade pretzels were okay as a starter, but entrees were very disappointing. The fish and chips were all batter overwhelming the small portion of fish that was not fresh. What was listed as vinegar and salt fries, were the same greasy waffle fries that every other entree surrounding us had and not a hint of vinegar. The bison burger was lacking presentation appeal and after asking originally for mushrooms to be added, the burger arrived with only cheese. Our cavalier waiter lazily looked at his notes and asked, "oh, so you want mushrooms on it?" The burger returned with 5 mushrooms on it. For all the waffle fries being served around this establishment, you would think ketchup would be on the table, but you had to ask for it and were given a tiny cup in return. Go to enjoy the beer, but eat somewhere else first!!!

This place has the best of intentions but needs work. The menu is creative and intuitive. You can tell there is some education and talent somewhere. However, the turkey burger came with cranberry chutney (great idea) and some dressing on the other side of the bun but no lettuce, tomato, onion, just seemed thrown on a bun. We had to ask for ketchup for our fries, our waiter was undeservingly cocky, and the manager kept coming over to run food but then running away as if she knew that we were annoyed. Our inlaws joined us unexpectedly half way through dinner and it took them 20 minutes to get menus and an hour to get their food. Dad's burger was cold and Mom's turkey burger was mushy. Keep working on it.
