I wish I could give zero stars...but not possible. This place is not even good as a last resource. The food taste and looks like it's reheated a few times. They look like don't want to toss away food and try to sell it the next day. It's just plain nasty food. Second, omg....the service!!!, how can you work in a restaurant serving customers with NO customer service whatsoever!. The attendant so RUDE and unfriendly, making weird faces every time asked a question about certain food...advise...don't like your job simply quit and find yourselves a job in a cubicle with no public interaction of any kind. Let's make it simple, if you enjoy paying for what it looks old food, extremely rude service and overly priced greasy old food come and make yourself comfortable at this place. There are definitely way more better places than this place. Don't forget...even Market Basket sells nicely fresh cooked food and with nice clean tables and perhaps great service for lower prices. :)

I do catering with them almost every week. The reason why I love this restaurant is very simple: Authentic Caribbean food at great prices. I always ask for pernil--it's pork and it's fabulous. The only thing I dislike about this place is the fact that the parking is so limited! Otherwise, this place offers perfect food and good prices. Their desserts need some updating, however, after you taste the food, you will not want to have dessert, you will want to have seconds! Get there early, though.

food is over salted, prices are forever changing, rice is never cooked right always crunchy. I rather go to one of the El Salvadorian restaurants.

The BF was looking for alcapurrias and I know that they have them here so I stopped in one night on the way home for dinner. They have counters full of food and you can just make a plate and they also have other meals & dinners (Steak, Chicken - more americanized) but for Spanish Plates its as you would expect at several other restaurants. The people working were VERY NICE and accomodating I was telling him what I was looking for as again, Im Not Puerto Rican & trying to be the middle man while the BF On the phone tells me this & Im trying to tell him they dont have that... But they were very nice & I left with several meals, got some stewed Chicken, Pepper Steak, Ribs, Rices, Sides... Off I went I got home expecting him to be like UGH, but he was actually ok with all my selections & liked the food alot. Was bummed that there wasnt alcapurrias but he was ok with the food. Will def stop in again when craving it.. The Pepper Steak was Seriously GOOD... Like better than good, It was really good!!!

I came here for lunch with my coworkers as we wanted to try Puerto Rican food. The service was horrible. As we're trying to order our food, people came and cut us in line to order. We didn't get any apology for the wait but instead"hold on ladies!". I tried to order a side of chicken and it was all gone however she just took it to the back. Then she was upset that I asked what the other sides were. Umm excuse where's the customer service? If you don't like your job then leave! I'm paying for the service so I expect to be treated nicely. The food was also expensive! I paid $10 for steak tips and rice and it was small. I will stick to restaurants in Boston where they actually have food, better service and you get more for your money!

I've come a few times already and it's been very inconsistent. The food has been cold and either too salty or taste like it's been out all day. I do understand this is a cafeteria style but if the food will be sitting out they should change it often. The big thing that really irritated me was the pricing. A few times they've charged me differently on plates that I've ordered before. They don't have a set price on drinks and I paid different prices on separate occasions.

So the other week, my gf told me about a place in Chelsea that sells Puerto Rican food. Seeing as neither one of us have had Puerto Rican food, we looked it up and swung by that night to try it out. The sign said open, the doors were unlocked, hours said they were open to 8, and we walked in at 7:45. Two women sitting at a table reading magazines say they're closed. Confused, we left. Fast forward to tonight, when we decide to give it another shot. We made sure to get there plenty early this time. The lady behind the counter was extremely nice. She apologized to me for not speaking much English (not that I cared), and explained to my gf (a Spanish speaker) the different types of food. She answered all of our questions, and we decided to settle on the mofongo plates. I got the steak and onion, the girl got the fried chicken. When the food arrived, the first thing we noticed was the garlic on the mofongo. The entire top was colored white from it. My goodness, I love me some garlic, and it was almost inedible. I mixed it into my steak and onions, which cut down on the strength. The steak was a real thin, grisly cut of meat. My second bite in was a chunk of fat. I didn't expect much out of it considering the price, but I didn't expect that. My girl couldn't get past the garlic, and didn't eat much. The server asked how we liked it (since we both said we'd never had it before), and my gf said it had too much garlic. Our response was "Then take some off. Lots of people around here like it with a lot of garlic." Thanks? To top it all off, at 7:15, the ladies behind the counter started cleaning the serving area. A family walked in at 7:30 and was told they were closed for the night. Guys, if you don't want to stay open till 8, change your signs. Very simple. I'm not entirely sure how they get away with doing this. Whatever the case may be, I won't be back.

Got catering from them for a baby shower and the food was hot and tasted awesome. Leftovers for days, it was the best week of my life. I would do it every single time. Pricing was awesome. Just got lunch from there today, I think I'm in love.

Searching yelp for late breakfast in Chelsea, I came across Bella Isla. With directions in hand, we headed toward the cafe. We drove past it at first because we didnt even see it. Its not obvious from the road. Turn in where you see a sign for a dairy place, its right next door. Being from somerville/cambridge, when I heard "cafe" I was expecting more of a loungy cafe with pastries and cappachinos. This place is not that. Its more of a cafeeria style lunch spot. I went in for breakfast but it was about 12 and they were no longer serving breakfast. After scoping out the amzing food behind the glass, I went for rice, beans, and chicken. Boy was I glad I did. Way better than eggs for my mild hangover. Oh and my strawberry milkshake? Ya, it was awesome. As a huge portion was dished out, the very nice man (owner?) was chatting with us. The staff here was super nice. Noticing we were first timers, they offered suggestions and made sure we had everything we needed. I can not wait to go back and try some other dishes and their homemade icecream. P.S They deliver!

Well... Puerto Rican food??? In theory... Yes. In taste? No. This is the only place in Boston that sell Puerto Rican food and the food is horrible. Cold tasteless and the service? I can get better service at KFC. I recommend this place as a last resource. I might be a little demanding but I am honest... You guys have no competition, you can do much better than that.

So it's a cafeteria that serves a lot of wonderful Puerto Rican dishes, as well as "American" fare. I go there for lunch at least once a week and since their selection changes all the time I am always trying new things. The owner is usually the one behind the counter and is very helpful if you are unfamiliar with the available dishes. He does speak fast and usually not very loud so be sure you understand what you are getting before getting served a plate of something you might not like (if you have a particular taste). The lunch special every day is simple (one entree, rice, salad, and a small drink) and a great value. If it's your first time, make sure you ask for the lunch special or you might get charged something else. They also do good sandwiches, and their breakfast is tasty.

So good! We wanted to try a little of everything, so they put together a platter - rice, chicken, perniles (YUM), yucca, and garlic tostones.SO good! Super friendly and tons of options! I will be back! Would be great for bringing a lot of food to a party or something. I think they do a lot of catering.

I've gone to many places like this one where they serve mainly Puerto Rican food and I must say that this is on my top favorite puerto rican/latin cafe/buffet/restaurant! They serve the typical foods and snacks... and Theyre cheese cake is delish! but 4-5 bucks for a slice is a too pricy! (Which is what stopped me from giving this place a 5) They serve big portions if you eat there but if you decide to take it to go you should order a few snacks a long the way because the portions are not as big. They also have homemade ice cream but I have yet to try it! Everyone there is friendly and they have Wi-Fi! I have not had the breakfast but I do recomment the yellow rice, steak with onions and peppers, and Pernil (pork shoulder) Delishhh! And the empanadas which come with ground beef or chicken (i believe they are called turn-overs in english) Overall it is a little pricy but if you have the money why not spend it on some good homemade food?

They've moved from 5th St to 220 2nd St inside the Rosev Dairy building. I have to recant. Thankfully, Bella Isla ditched the witch with the unscratchable itch up her kulo. Much better.

About Taco Bell

Taco Bell is a haven for Mexican delicacies such as tacos, quesadillas, burritos, nachos, and other specialty items. Owned by Yum! Brands, Inc. Taco Bell is one of the fastest growing American chains of fast food restaurants. The restaurant operates from 7,072 different locations which are mostly run by independent franchisees and licensees.

The background story of Taco Bell is interesting and inspiring for budding entrepreneurs. The fast-food brand is the brainchild of Glen Bell, who started his first food venture as a hot dog seller in San Bernardino, California. The year was 1948. After witnessing long queues outside a Mexican restaurant called Mitla Café across the street, Bell saw the opportunity and demand for hard-shelled Tacos. He reverse-engineered the recipe and later started selling Tacos and called the venture Taco-Tia.

Later, the name changed from Taco-Tia to El Taco. Eventually, Glen Bell sold the company to his partner and opened the first Taco Bell in Downey in 1962. By 1964, the restaurant also got its first franchise in Torrance. The 100th Taco Bell restaurant was opened by 1965. PepsiCo acquired Taco Bell from Glen Bell in 1978 and the restaurant brand is currently a subsidiary of Yum! Brands which looks after the restaurant business of PepsiCo.
