This place is fantastic. Now, if you're looking for a high end pub, this isn't your place. But if you're looking for a chill, friendly, laidback local joint, go! This is your place. We were in town for St. Patrick's Day, and a friend of mine always hung here while he lived in Boston. We were on our way to the parade, but decided to meet my friend for a drink here first. Well, we were having such a blast, we never made the parade. On actual St. Patrick's Day, two days later, we ended back here after getting annoyed with the crowds and cover charges at other spots. We had the best time there drinking with the regulars/locals. They don't serve food, but Tommy, the awesome bartender, supplied us with a file folder full of carry out menus of places that deliver to the bar! That's just kickass. We ordered pizza and hung out for many more hours. It's also just across the street from Andrews Station (on the red line), so you can get home safely! This is definitely a place to check out if you want to get a good 'local' feel.

This a real local type of bar pub so don't expect any frills... with that being said, the price for drinks were decent to cheap, and they did come with a kick which is a plus. This is a good neighborhood hangout if your in the area. You may meet some interesting people as I did the night I was there, but they were cool and I had a good time surprisingly. Its basic and has liquor/beer on hand and if you don't drive directly across red line T station

I read a lot of reviews about dive bars in Boston, they're all BS...this place is the real deal. Beers are $2.50, crowd is old and they're all locals. This place is a true dive. The bar tender is friendly and quick to serve you your libations. You wanna taste of the real Bastan spend some time on the southside and swing by The Connection...the place is straight up Irish Italian and right outside the red line's Andrews station.

Good place for cheap drinks. Cocktails are usually like 4 bucks. Does it get better than that? Heads up... this isn't a bar you find babes at. You will however find old, drunk white men. lol but it's right by my house and my boyfriend and I pop in there now and then. i like it though.

Greatest bar in Southie. Andrew Square is cleaning up and the Connection is ahead of the curve. Typical beers and booze, it does have a kitchen but it is closed...if you want to open it, stop in and talk to Tony maybe you can work something out. For the perfect beer, in a great Southie setting don't pass this place up. Darts, Jukebox, Cold Beers, and great pictures on the wall...DON'T MISS THIS PLACE!!!!

I have only one word for the Sports Connection to sum it all up.......Butter. (He's not the owner though)

Lots of (normal) locals. Not bad. Went twice while in the area. Good tap beer and excellent prices.
