They gave me a blowjob with free delivery! Come on! Can't beat it... Oh wait they did ;)

I ordered the Thai Chicken Salad the other night and I LOVED it. Big portions and fresh ingredients. I tried a few bites of the cheese ravioli and that was delicious as well. The delivery was early and the driver was as nice as can be. One of my go-to places as of late and I see no reason why that won't continue.

The chicken wings were not good at all! It tasted like it had been cooked with fish. They weren't spicy at all.

I am surprised at the low stars here as this place is one of my favorite quick stop pizza shops in all of Boston. The delivery is fast and friendly -even during a Pats Game! The girl taking orders is efficient and you can just tell she know what shes doing. Pizza is above average - way better the the greasy pits like Emilios. Its not as good as restaurant style like Picco, but still pretty good. My favorite here is the boneless chicken fingers and the 10 ...yes 10 variates of AMAZING sauces. I've only had the Louisiana Kicking Cajun (like a chipotle aoli) and the Chipotle honey BBQ both were so good I wanted to lick the bowl they come in. Crispy white meat perfectly fried in a finger liking messy good sauce - the best. cant wait to try BOOM BOOM sauce super spicy but I'm sure still amazingly good.

(Ordered delivery from this grill. So my review will be based on the delivery and food.) Our hotel is about a mile down the street. Yes we could've walked to pick up the food but we were trying to settle into our hotel and were really looking to grub. The gentleman on the phone seemed very friendly. Took our order and we were set! We forgot to ask how long but within 30 minutes, our front desk called and our food was here ! Very reasonable. We ordered 2 burgers and fries. Both were amazing for take-out. The burgers tasted fresh off the grill and the fries were just the right amount of crunch. Not soggy like you would expect from delivery. This place came in handy for being open late in the evening and delivery! Now I can sit in our hotel room and enjoy some great food. I would order again, fo sho.

Ordered a Hawaiian pizza for pickup on Halloween evening. I expected a bit of a wait but it was ready within 20 min. Not the nicest atmosphere/place to sit and eat but the pizza was good albeit a little pricey for an average pizza. ($22)

After posting this review I went back to South End Pizza and Grill and I have to say, I'm s glad I did. They don't have a direct on line delivery portal anymore and the delivery service is faster and the food is always hot and wonderful; maybe that was the issue. The Hawaiian pizza is so good and I don't know what the do to the grilled chicken on their grilled chicken salad but it's amazing. I have tried to recreate it and it's never as good. I'm so glad to I came back and won't leave again!!

Surprised to see some poor reviews. As far as pizza and subs go, this has become my go to Sunday night spot for delivery. I usually only get pizza and fries but it's delicious every time. People need to understand that it's a pizza shop and not a 5 star dining experience before trolling out a 3 paragraphed 1 star review.

  • Neal M.

Not a busy Thursday night but for this new try for subs and salad I was happy some of the quality of product is restored. I'm hoping it's a consistent recovery, time will tell.

Mmmmmm...so yummy (good)! I was having a late night craving & was nervous w the reviews below on my delivery, but I have to say our Southend Special Pizza was superb a long w the crispy yum fries. I am completely pleased w our late night delivery. My man wasn't even hungry and totally induldged in w me on this late night crave. Will be delivering our pizza from here more often. Found another great place for pizza in this town!!

We order from SE PIzza and Grill for work weekly! Everyone raves about their pizza which is absolutely DELICIOUS! Being an Italian NY'er I like to think I know good pizza when I have it- pizza is incredible. Definitely our favorite at my company!

Wow All I have to say is Disgusting! It was my first time ordering here and I ordered take out delivery $40 dollars worth of food and I ended up sick! The bacon on the turkey clubs was raw smacked with dried turkey the Mayo was Smacked On! So thick like I was being drowned & raped by a dairy Cow! the chicken fingers look like undercooked Dicks! It was terrible never Ever! again Me and my hubby only rented the food if you know what I mean they can forget me ever making an order if it was the end of the world and they were the last place with food I think I'll Die! Of starvation!

Fantastic people, fast service, they have CHERRY GARCIA ice cream (and other delicious Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream) by the PINT, and they have delicious pizza. Great place to get a late-night pizza. Or, you know, an any-time pizza. And sometimes when you come in looking for milk after all the convenience stores are closed, they'll give you a massive cup of milk for free! Just an added perk. Go visit these guys... They're nice and the food's good and you can double down and have some ice cream, too.

  • Shara W.

Good food!! A little pricey, but my kids really like their pizza!! Right around the corner which is a plus!! Girls night consists of south end pizza and wine, and lots of fun!

Ordered food at 2pm. Got delivery at 4:30. Missed lunch time. Cold pizza. Enough said.

    (1)
  • Kate G.

I go out of my way to get their chicken wings. It's better to get them crispy & just get the sauces on the side

    (5)
  • Lynn J.

PIZZA? Is that WHAT that was! I ordered pizza, and "well done" to boot. I got what tasted like thin, hard frozen dough, semi burnt, with raw, white cheese on top, and VERY little sauce or toppings...WHY? THE DEAL: They claim to serve 1000+ pizzas to Boston residents every week...TO WHO?

  • Amy B.

By far the worst delivery food experience I've had. Ordered, waited for my food for an hour and 20 min. Had to call to confirm it was coming. My food shows up, nachos and cheese are cold. Worst nachos I've ever consumed. Overall horrible service and food presentation. You're better off going to 711 for tostitos.

    (1)
  • Klea D.

Had such a terrible experience ordering from this place. We ordered through GrubHub and although its expected for orders to arrive a little later than when calling directly, we waited 2 hrs for our food to get to us. It was unacceptable. We tried calling the place but it was already closed and we had no way to contact the delivery person. The guy didn't even apologize when finally arrived. Food was cold and tasted terrible. So not worth the wait.

  • bobby l.

It's not the worst but we know it's the worst pizza we (5 of us) have ever had. Even their menu look nice and fancy, but the food not even close to what it's look. I pick up and eat in half hour if that isn't soon enough I don't know how soon should I be eating them. Pizza is cold like setting there for sometimes... Anyway good luck to all of you. Ohh. Finger is fine but wing is precook, not home made.

Would you please stop sending your flyer in an envelope labeled "Request for Immediate Action - Time Sensitive Material Enclosed", because I'm not going to take "immediate action" and order your food and you're menu is not time sensitive. Although I suppose you are saving me some time because now I recognize your flyer whenever these come in the mail and just toss them in the shredder without opening them. Stay classy guys.

what kind of crap is this? 15.50 for a cheeseburger dinner? 7 $ for a order of onion rings? this place can burn down and i wont care at all.

    (2)
  • Amir Y.

The staff are always friendly, and they're the kind of people who remember your name and your order after just a couple visits. And the prices are as reasonable as you'll find for lunchtime fare.

    (5)
  • Dee C.

I heard this place was really good. Which it isnt bad. But I placed an order for deliver the woman told me 30/45 mins and they took about a hour or more. Now when you are ordering so it arrives in time for your lunch break thats an issue. The food was alright, I asked for BBQ sause on my burger and it came dry. I saw the attempt but it was an epic fail. The onion rings tho were delish and made perfectly. Im not a fan of the extra battered ones. Oh also for the price they charge you for a burger they could atleast throw in some fries.

    (2)
  • Kevin F.

Just tried this place for the first time. The food took 1hr 10 minutes to arrive on a Wednesday night. When it finally did finally arrive I was extremely let down. Cold calzone. The steak tip wrap contained very little steak and was full of old terrible rice. I threw it out and made a veggie burger. Stay away. Be advised. Unless you like $20 veggie burgers when you are expecting steeeaaaak.

    (1)
  • Samantha S.

The pizza is seriously AMAZING. Definitely one of my favorites, but the downside is that they are significantly more expensive and delivery takes longer than other pizza places. That being said, I've never tried anything off the menu that I haven't loved.

    (4)
  • Behr H.

Request for Immediate Action - Time Sensitive Material Enclosed Warning: $2000.00 Fine, 5 Years imprisonment, or both for any person interfering or obstructing with delivery of this letter. U.S. Mail TTT.18 U.S CODE That was the headline on the envelope which contained a menu and coupons I received from South End Pizza & Grill. Just who is the marketing genius behind this company? Marketing FAIL!!! I never want to shop there again for such an obnoxious headline.

  • Tyler L.

I really wanted a hamburger the other day and decided to give this place a try again. I used to eat here frequently last year, but I stopped when I seen the prices had went up so high. $15 for a hamburger and fries, with an extra $1 for bacon. I think I tasted bacon once in this happy meal-sized hamburger and the fries certainly weren't worth the price. I received very little toppings from what I requested. If this hamburger were better than anywhere else, I understand the price. As it stands, the size and quantity of food does not really explain the prices.

    (3)
  • Jordan L.

For $7, the delicious meatball sub here comes at a discount to locals. Fresh tasting, savory bites with melted cheese and oregano. Not to mention a friendly staff and live Food Network on TV while you wait. Forget Subway...South End P&G knows how to make mouths water!

    (4)
  • Adeline M.

Yes, the prices are high-ish and the food sometimes takes a while, but everything I have tried so far has been tasty and fresh, so I cant complain. There have been slight inconsistencies in ingredients from time to time, but in comparison to other food delivery services this one isn't bad.

  • Michelle B.

This place is pretty okay. I'm not in love with their pizza, or even their wings for which they're allegedly famous, but I do order here once in awhile because of their wraps and/or tasty appetizers. But this is one of those places that exemplifies my dubiousness about take out restaurants with ginormous menus - it's not possible to do all of those things well, so you have to know what to order. Their wraps are pretty great - the syrian bread is tender and chewy, they are stuffed to the gills with whatever filling your little heart desires. My two favorites are the Veggie wrap (full of mushrooms, spinach, peppers, onions, tomatoes, broccoli, and topped with a slice of melted provolone) and the Pastrami Overdose (full of well seasoned, juicy pastrami, with the perfect amount of dressing/cheese/onions and peppers). I've tried others and they're all varying degrees of pretty good to great, but those are the two I keep coming back to. Delivery is super fast if you're in the Roxbury/Mission Hill/South End area. I feel like their prices are on par with the amount of food, if not always the quality, that you receive. They also do deals where you'll get things like two wraps, two drinks, and two desserts for X, which usually saves you a few bucks.

  • Marcia K.

All I can say is everytime we order for delivery from here we never receive what we order. If I call back they say they will fix it but never do. So South End Grill it is over....done...there are two many places in Boston that have good customer service and great food!!

    (1)
  • Alicia B.

I have gotten into a nasty habit of ordering a pizza from South End Pizza and Grill at least once a month. Meatballs and garlic... Delicious!

    (4)
  • Courtney S.

I get the wrong order delivered about 60% of the time with South End Pizza. Extremely frustrating. No more for me. Food is decent but they apparently cannot read.

    (2)
  • Joe W.

Ok, their food is good. However, DON'T order through them online!!!. The prices differ from their handout menu. Also, when u place an order they somehow LOSE it!!! Recently, I lost an entire order after placing online. They had no record of it and they were totally rude about it!, So my advice - order from their handout menut AND CALL TO VERIFY the prices. Again, their food is good, but their customer service SUCKS!!!!

    (1)
  • Olivia W.

This place is a decent place for a quick bite...in terms of the pizza quality it's just ok.( I usually order the south end special pizza.) pretty friendly stuff. My favorite would be the antipasto salad. price is generally reasonable.

    (3)
  • Kween M.

i love this place i order when i dont feel like cooking or when i get home late at night. they are always on time for delivery, and if there ever is a problem then they will fix it for me in a timely manner, plus with something free. but that happened only once. i love the white chicken rancho pizza yumm yummm. thanks guys....

  • Jessica R.

We used to order from this place for delivery all the time for gamedays. Their wings used to be great. Lately I've seen a change in their wing quality...the past 2 deliveries were dry and very little sauce as opposed to before when they were juicy and delicious. I don't know what changed, maybe they got a new cook. I will not be ordering from them again.

  • Brian D.

My girlfriend has lived around the corner from this place for a couple years and it has ALWAYS been our go-to for anything. Okay, I'll level with you. You aren't going to get the most gourmet stuff here, but for the price you are getting good quality and reasonable prices. We normally will share a large special calzone, which is about the size of two deflated footballs and the taste is good. They are somewhat bready but whatever. Their lunch deals with the wings/chicken fingers is by far the best. A good selection to choose from and both wings and fingers are good and meaty. Like all greek-pizza joints, the wings come in a tub of sauce. Overlook the sauce soup in the bottom and its good. Finger fingers are huge and meaty - LOVE THEM. The staff and owners are really friendly and service is quick. I've never had a problem with a missed order, they are always on top of things. I think the guys at the counter have a crush on my gf however, I don't mind, I'm flattered. We are moving towards the other end of the South End soon, but we might go for the long walk to continue patronage at the SEP&G.

    (4)
  • Gary W.

Despite what the statement on their website says, their wing's are not that great. The honey bbq sauce seems to have taken a page out of a cheap chinese restaurant's sweet and sour sauce. If you are craving wings, stick to Wings Over.

    (1)
  • Courtney L.

Ordered from here about 6 times and have never been disappointed with the pizza. Fries and wings aren't too shabby but has safely become my go to for pizza delivery in the area!

    (4)
  • ilmar v.

Got the one pound fried shrimp and crab cakes appetizer, it was very good. I couldn't even eat the fish and chips I got for dinner. The portions are huge! My wife got the Grilled Chicken Kebob, she said it was the best she's ever had. She's a very picky eater so it is quite the compliment! We travel a lot and rely on Yelp, but our flight got in late and everything was closing so we took a chance on this place without looking at the rating before we ordered. Their rating on Yelp doesn't match with our experience. This place ROCKS!

    (5)
  • Samantha E.

Getting late and you're starting to crave that "4th meal"? This place was our saving grace at least once a week. Buffalo chicken sub without any extras - just meat and bread. It's the BEST! Honestly. I have tried every sub, wrap, and pizza - the buffalo chicken is where it's at... you can thank me later.

    (4)
  • Eric F.

Been here a number of times now for the salads and they're consistently tasty. The romaine is fresh and the chicken tender and flavorful. The only weak point is the bread, pretty tough and completely bland Syrian bread that you need sauce or some sort of accompaniment for to make it edible.

    (4)
  • Jules L.

I called South End Pizza and asked for the pricing on a Large Pepperoni pizza. I was told $12. I called back to place the order, I asked the gentleman to verify the price is $12. The pizza was delivered and the total was $15.60. What? Has this happened to anyone else? I called to inquire and I was put on hold. I will never order from them again. They misrepresented themselves. Bad business practices and too much competition out there.

    (1)
  • Richard K.

I can only comment on the wings, which were very good. I ordered take-out from work, so I've never actually even been to this place, but I was very happy with the crispy wings, barbeque sauce and blue cheese dressing on the side. Sometime I'll have to stop by.

    (4)
  • M E.

I've lived in the south end for 8 years, and eat here all the time. The menu is great , I love the steal tip salad and the roll ups. They always have my order waiting if I call ahead. Hot and fresh!!! It's hard to find a quick inexpensive meal in the south end!! Check it out!

    (5)
  • Edmundo V.

I just ordered food from here. The delivery took over an hour. Then the food was soggy, greasy and had no flavor to it. I was perplexed by how someone can mess up onion rings and chicken tenders. Will not order from here again.

    (1)
  • Cherie C.

We don't have many good options for delivery. Of course, we don't order iin very often. South End has gorgeous menus (though I think the pics are clipart, not pics from the restaurant). We got one in the mail and tried them twice. Delivery is quick. There is a credit card option. Salads were excellent. We got a goat cheese and sun dried tomato salad on mesclun greens; yum. Sandwiches are good. Pizza is just okay. Update: the food is so-o-o salty! Each time we've ordered (different items each time) I woke up in the middle of the night and chugged 28 oz of water from the Brita. Then I woke up and drank some more in the AM. Minus a star for that.

  • Thomas N.

The Patriots per-game show was playing when I decided to order a chicken Parmesan sub and a pepperoni pizza, for delivery. I ordered using their online service which was easy and quick. You could even track your order which I thought was neat! The driver was fast only taking about 40 mins from time of order to ringing the bell. Food was hot but I would have been happier if I had a self rising frozen pizza! Next time I'll plan ahead and walk to New York Pizza.

I'm a little shocked by the reviews. We did delivery- after a really long day, it just seemed appropriate to sit around, hang out and eat in our hotel room. The website to order was top notch- I'm a really big fan of online ordering systems that are easy to navigate. I ordered the regular spaghetti with eggplant, it was was just what I'd expected. Noodles, watery sauce, melted cheese and eggplant. My husband ordered the meat lasagna, and instead of lasagna noodles, it had a quiche consistency. Strange. Someone also ordered the buffalo chicken pizza, which was really good. Not too hot, but with the perfect hot sauce flavor. If I hadn't been craving pasta, I would have split it with her. I'd recommend this place to anyone staying in the area who just wanted to enjoy delivered food.

    (3)
  • Stephen H.

Dont listen to any of these other reviews, total BS. First of all keep in mind this is primarily a takeout place, it has pizza in the title of the resturant, its not a sitdown place. I lived in this area for 3 years and all my roomates were rich lazy college kids who lived off takeout so I've done a decent ammount of sampling of local merchants. Prices are more than reasonable. Their pizza is solid but what we would order is their chicken wings, buffalo and honey bbq were the best and they have some really good combo deals. Also the Chicken Carbona calzone is one of the best calzones I've had in the area, highly reccomended. If you stick to their pizza, subs, and chicken wings you will not be dissapointed trust me. When its sunday and the pats are playing I know what I'll be eating.

  • Mike J.

Horrible business! DO NOT ORDER. We ordered 3 sandwiches, only received two 1.5 hours later... Called to have them correct the order by delivering the missing sandwich. Another 1.5 hours passed, we called to just get our money back and they put us on hold only to not pick up the call or any of the next 5 calls. In short - Their food is horrible and they literally stole from us. DON'T BE TRICKED!

    (1)
  • Freddy W.

A SMALL pizza cost me $15 last night?!? What a ripoff. It wasn't even good. You are better off ordering from Laz a block away.

  • John L.

I was in need of something to eat and didn't feel like moving, hence South End Pizza and Grill. I'm going to try a Good/Bad format here, because that seems to be the best way to describe this place: Good: -They are fast. I had my food a half hour after I ordered it on Foodler, which is the fastest I've had food (I've had places that have turned out to be just blocks away take longer.) -You get a lot of food: I ordered a meal for $9.95... more like a family meal. I got oodles of chicken and even more oodles of fries, and a salad. I still have most of the fries and the full salad for later consumption. On the pure "food quantity" end, they deliver. Bad: -The chicken is tough: as in, it takes a little bit to chew it fully. Maybe I'm just not too high quality with my chicken fingers, but I don't expect it to be a battle in my mouth for food supremacy. - I was expecting the "Honey Mustard Dijon" ones to be covered in said sauce, rather than it simply being on the side. Maybe I read the menu incorrectly, but this seemed weird. - The minimums: A $12 minimum for delivery, and THEN it's still $15 to use your credit card on Foodler? Thank goodness I had cash on me, but I don't see the point in two separate minimums. I do have a good deal of food out of using this place, but I just wish it wasn't as tough as it was. It's okay, but not worth it if you don't want that much.

  • Jason B.

    Bogus calzones. Avoid.

    (2)
  • D K.

I think this placed changed ownership. Things have gone downhill quite a bit since my previous review. The pizza recipe seems to have changed too. I think the main ingredient is now cardboard?

    (2)
  • Daisy C.

Let's make this short and painless. - It's smelly (unless you like the smell of homeless) - Pizza is gross - Staff is clueless at times, and rude. Just don't order from here.

    (1)
  • Vanessa L.

Pepperoni pizza is always constantly good. It is good amount of sauce to cheese ratio. Thin pizza and crust. Chicken Rancho wrap is good too. Appetizer type things are all frozen and fried so don't expect anything over the moon here but nothing wrong with frozen mozzarella sticks.

    (4)
  • Kevin W.

Ratty pizza, terrible service, and a long wait time. Thats three strikes for a local pizza joint right? Won't go back.

    (1)
  • Dara S.

Minus one star for taking over an hour to deliver every time. Minus one star because I am not sure I would order from this place during the day. South End P & G has become my favorite late night place to order food from. Their pizza is better than every other pizza option available after 10pm and their southwest eggrolls are super yummy. Their chicken tenders were impressive as well. The order was large and included big white meat tenders. Very worth the price. Even their garden salad with tuna did not skimp on the tuna - two of us could not finish the thing. They have tons of different options on their menu and although a little on the expensive side, they offer some sweet deals. (PIzza and two appetizer combo - the two pizza, wings, soda combo - they even have one that includes dessert.) Summary: awesome option for late night food, try to order ahead because they take a long time.

    (3)
  • Brian D.

For the last four or five times that I have ordered from South End I have noticed a few not so awesome consistencies. 1. The pizza has been arriving not quite fully cooked. I mean, it's been in the oven but I can still see the individual shreds of cheese and the other toppings are barely warm. 2. The subs are showing up with extra soupy bread - YUM. 3. The wings are sort of how do you say, COLD and NOT GOOD. 4. BUT they are spending a ton of cash on awesome menus.

    (2)
  • Joey P.

Their buffalo chicken pizza makes me orgasm every time.

    (4)
  • Kayla P.

Just finished eating their buffalo chicken tenders and jalapeño poppers. Both were sooo yummy. And major props to the delivery man who hiked up the 5 flights of stairs to my apartment instead of making me come down, that was much appreciated!! Definitely will order from here again!

    (5)
  • Matthew P.

This place is very hit or miss. They do make some pretty good subs and some of their apps are good, but they can really botch stuff up like the nachos. For 10 bucks, i'd expect more from nachos then something you'd get at a concession stand at a little league game. The pizza is honestly no good and i have never bothered with it after this first time. If you feel compelled to go there, get the standard fare that's nearly impossible to mess up (like the buffalo chicken).

    (3)
  • Derrick C.

I'm impressed. Well, to what I have to compare to. I've only had Upper Crust and Laz Cafe here in Boston and I can say that this place trumps both. Their crust is better, the flavors are better, and it just looks like there was more care put into it.

    (4)
  • Meagan K.

I have lived a five-minute walk away from this place all summer and my first time trying it out was last night. So many nights of delicious, cheap pizza could have been had! I've wasted my life! Oh well, I will drown my sorrows with a yummy two slice and soda meal combo. Seriously, the pizza is really good, on par with Pizza Pie-er, which is my other favorite pizza in the area. The place is a little small (cozy), but I think it's going to be my new favorite hangout in my area. EDIT 11/30: OK, I'm going to keep the four stars for the pizza, but just be warned, most of the other items on the menu I've tried are not great. Mediocre at best. So stick with the pizza and you've got a four-star meal, otherwise, be prepared for a possible three or less.

    (4)
  • Hossein A.

Best chicken tenders ever!! The sauces (the peanut and the ginger) are amazing. Can't get enough!!

    (4)
  • Chrys B.

We've been ordering from their nice selection of pizzas almost every night. The Mediterranean pizza is fantastic as well as the nacho pizza. For the price you'd expect something less, but we really enjoy the pizza the most from their menu. Great for a quick eat.

There's something about driving all around Boston/suburbs/and beyond buying last minute essentials, throwing your life into a Ford Escort, and holding in the tears when your animals look at you with a "Where are you going? Can we come? Why do you need all those clothes?" look that just makes you wanna scream, "FRENCH FRIES!" After a stressful, tiring, and aggravating day of what was a Sunday move to the South End, I needed some fatty food and FAST. I stopped into South End Pizza after reading about it on Yelp and seeing the glowing lights of OPEN down the street from my new apartment. I stepped inside, and was stunned at the size of the overwhelming menu. I wanted fat...but what fat did I want? My eyes lingered near the pastas then dashed over to the subs. They meandered near the burgers, before roaming over to the salads. Whoops, they made a wrong turn somewhere... I decided on a Firecracker Chicken (Buffalo chicken, blue cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes rolled up) with a side of french fries. I waited at one of their booths and looked over at the TV--Oh Super Bowl? What's that? 5 minutes left and we're losing. I finally got my food and eagerly walked back to Columbus Ave. THESE FRIES ARE IN TROUBLEEEEEEEE. Darting up the stairs and plopping my soon to be bigger butt cheeks on the sofa, I see the Pats are winning now, whoopdeedoo. I open a large Styrofoam container of what I assume is my sandwich, BUT NO. A heaping mound of fries sings to me. *HANDFUL TO MOUTH* Soggy, but I'll eat them. I find my roll-up hiding next to my DIET Pepsi in the plastic bag--I gotchoo. I vigorously unwrap the the paper and SOUTH END GRILL sticker who appear to be in a last attempt at saving the poor sandwich. It never had a chance. I chomp and inhale the Firecracker into my gullet. Mmm tasty...messy....perfect. One hand on my sandwich, the other scooping fries, I see the Pats are losing again. Oh well, at least my stomach is winning. Overall, my hunger was satisfied by a mediocre place. The food was good, but nothing to brag about. The service was fine, although I think they were more interested in the pigskin than my patronage. The fries could have been crisper but then again, I don't think I ever really TASTED them. $11 for a sub, side, and drink seems a little excessive. But I would have begged like a gypsy in an airport for fried food at that moment, so I handed the VISA right over.

Similar to Marc C.'s review, I've lived directly in Boston for about 3 years and have yet to find a meatball sub that I LOVE. SE Pizza & Grill is the closest I've come to finding a really great meatball sub. Steak & cheese subs from here aren't bad either -- average, I'd say. They definitely do stuff them pretty full though, so you're getting your money's worth (unlike Bostone's). Cheese fries are yummy too, although they tend to overload on the cheese. I also love their Greek salads -- yummm. That said, their pizza is just OK. I actually prefer Bostone's pizza, but when you're ordering a variety of foods, SE is the place to go. They have an enormous menu.

There is a certain type of pizza/sandwich place around this area (mostly for us students) that is great late night and okay during the day. I would say that this place is the cream of the crop in that category. They are clean, have a nice staff (some places get soup nazi-esque), and have better food than most of the others. Their salads are great and generally fresh and their chicken dinners are very good and very big and very reasonably priced.

This place is as bad as watching a Sarah Palin interview... not sure what's worse. DON'T be deceived by their well done website or menu with fancy photos. The Steak & Cheese is awful. I've had it twice and both times they couldn't manage to get the 'meat' hot enough to melt the cheese and the roll was stale. Their meat is ultra fine and I don't think it even made it on the grill to be heated. The Chicken Alfredo is under cooked and the broccoli most certainly came from and Birds Eye bag. The Chicken Casar Wrap had chicken that had been soaked in rosemary (ended up taking out the chicken), and their was more 'wrap' than lettuces. The wait is 45min even if your sitting right there. They are open late but avoid if you can until you see a sign saying 'under new management.'

I had veggie and cheese pizzas delivered. They arrived still hot and were delicious.

Cold pizza and Italian sub was terrible!

I can't speak for the space itself, but I get delivery at least once a week from here and it's always great and a super value.

Great for a quick slice of pizza to go, but if you have more time, order the boneless thai chicken fingers. The sauce is amazing and the portions are filling, but the chicken has been on the dry side the last couple times I've gotten it.

We (my husband and I) ordered form South End Pizza few times and EACH time there was something wrong with the order: missing stuff, cold pizza, or something totally different from what we ordered! We stopped ordering from them after when the delivery guy left pizza on the ground in front of our apartment because, as we found out later, he was in a hurry and didn't have time to come upstairs. (We paid and tipped before we "got "food) After all we got money back but we also had to go and get food somewhere else.

Where do I start? Rude guy at the counter treating me like my plan for a chicken cutlet sandwich is a serious dip into his personal time. Next - no lie, twenty minutes goes by and my grossly overcooked almost-not-food-anymore chicken blob with no flavor and the texture of shoe leather comes out. Since that auto alarm went off about 6 minutes in I started asking if I everything was ok. I was assured, in a flip manner, of course, that my sandwich was coming. Sigh. Fortunately I own my business and my boss wasn't getting mad at my extended lunch break, but if I had to be somewhere I would have had to try to get my money back and switch to plan B. I recommend that if you need a quick bite in the South End that your continue your search further down Tremont and just walk on by this place.....

Food distinctly lacking quality, as was the service. I was there rather later in the evening, in not a perfect state of mind, *very* hungry, and I was still really disappointed. At least they're open late. Corner Cafe, a block away, definitely has better food... but worse hours.

I like to try new things, new places, but when I want a pizza, or a sub, I like to stick wtih my tried and true places. Places that I know won't let me down. But every now and then, I get suckered into trying something I should have known was too good to be true. In my collection of menu's for places across the South End, South End Pizza & Grill stands out. Its immaculate. Well laid out, great pictures and descriptions. It is for this reason, I decided to give them a go. Disappointment doesn't even begin to describe my experience. I first ordered nachos. Their menu depicts nice chips, with melted shreaded cheese and a nice topping of ground beef. The reality is chewy (read: OLD) round chips, smothered in a flavorless liquid cheese and a handful of jalepenos. Yeah, deceptive advertising doesn't even begin to describe this. I also ordered an Italian sub. The sub was nothing to write home about. The amount of meat on the sub I would consider skimpy but it was otherwise ok. The menu people did a great job, kudos and congrats to them, but don't be fooled, the pictures aren't even close to reality.

What ever you do, don't get the gyros! I was sooo disappointed! Why have it on the menu if you can't make it right? It was given to me in a wrap?! The tsiziki smelled and tasted weird. There was no garlic in it at all. I had two bites and I was done! Even though I was starving, buffalo fries were good though.

I really like South End pizza...not too greasy, GREAT portions, not TOO bad pricing, but be prepared to wait if you order delivery. And by wait I mean they take usually around an hour to deliver. I think they have the best chicken fingers around so I usually give in and wait the hour for them to get to my apartment.

Worst pizza place ever!!!! I ordered an Italian sub, it was literally meat on a piece of bread!!! Are you kidding me??? Doesn't everyone know that an Italian sub comes with at the very least lettuce and tomato. Will never order from here again. Total fail.

These guys are pretty reliable with their delivery and they have amazing specialty pizzas... You've got to try the Chicken Rancho Pizza. However every so often on larger orders (7-8 pizzas) we receive pizzas different from the ones we ordered - veggie becomes veggies with hamburger?! Also their delivery people can be rude.

My favorite place for pizza!! Great appetizers too... try it... delivery is fast and accurate! You won't be sorry... any kind of pizza you can imagine. I highly recommend the Chicken Rancho

The atmosphere in this place is horrible. The counter people always seems smug and annoyed that I bother them with orders. Pizza is OK, but not great. Wings are over sauced and get really soggy when the delivery guy takes his sweet time. If you have a place closer or cheeper, pick that over South End Pizza.

Hands down the BEST Chicken Ceasar Wrap I have every had!!! (and the wrap was huge!) I have had it 3 nights in a row at work now! There are more pizza joints and "wrap" shops than I can count in this neighborhood and I will go to South End Pizza and Grill for this wrap EVERY time!! (their steak and cheese subs and mozz sticks aren't too shabby either :-)

How does one mess up a quesadilla? Either not including cheese with the dry chicken or using some sort of weird liquid/watered-down cheese would be one way of messing it up. Nachos weren't much better. I won't be ordering again.

I ordered a burger and the buffalo fries for delivery via Foodler. The fries arrived soggy and with no noticable taste other than typical frozen french fries. The burger was a gray patty on a bun. No fixins at all, just a sad little patty between two smushed pieces of bread, wrapped in tinfoil. Pathetic. Maybe their pizzas are decent, but they don't even try with the other stuff it seems.

I've ordered delivery from this place about three or four times. We've gotten pizza from here most of the time, but a couple of days ago, we ordered pasta. It was gross! They claimed to have homemade sauce and I was excited for some baked ziti with eggplant. It was gross. Definitely not homemade sauce, and the eggplant was sliced in chunks and seemed to be microwaved. No taste at all. My sister ordered the fettuccine alfredo and she said that it had no flavor. The peanut butter blast was pretty good. So, basically, if I order from here again, it'll only be for pizza. I won't bother trying anything else.

As a recent transplant to Boston, I stopped into South End Pizza and Grill on my quest for good pizza. The menu at this place is quite expansive. They've got everything on their menu from pizza to subs to salads to wraps to buffalo wings. There are a few tables to sit down but most people tend to take their food to go, I think. On my first trip here, I ordered pizza which was very average. Last night, I went back for a sub. I got the chicken cutlet sub, which was again very average. The chicken was dry but I have to admit the food was piping hot. My bf got a meatball sub which he really enjoyed. We did have to wait about 15-20 minutes even though there was no one else in the place. All in all, it was an average place but I'd go back since its close by.

I've ordered from here a few times, mainly because they deliver to my house and they have good gyros and salads. We ordered some jalepeno poppers, mozzarella sticks, a veggie wrap, and a calzone from here last weekend and it was quick, and most importantly, they called when they were at the door so it didn't cause a dog riot. I appreciate that. It was good, and way too much food. They do charge a delivery fee, and a credit card fee if you use once, which seems rediculous when you spend $30. I guess I am just against the credit card punishment, huh? It was good, and they serve everything with lots of sauces to dip, and I love me some poppers.

I love their specials! The best one is any 2 topping pizza and some boneless wings (plenty of sauces available, I normally stick with buffalo). If you want a change of pace from typical college pizza house fare, go with the Artichoke wrap, it's delicious! The prices are competitive and the service is quick. I would take it over Boston House of Pizza any day.

So I was in the mood for meatballs. I searched "meatballs" here on Yelp, and decided on South End Pizza. I had to take the T two stops, and I wasn't disappointed. Granted, not the best meatball sub I've ever had, but better than any meatballs I've had here in Boston. I ate it there, so didn't have to wait for delivery. The bread was warm and toasty but not burnt, the cheese was gooey and delicious, and the sauce was very much present without being overpowering or excessively spicy/garlicy/oniony as most sauces are around here. The meatballs were decent, but the entire sandwich was better-than-average. I'm giving it $$ instead of $, because my sandwich and soda came to about $9, which is a little more than most other places for the same fare. I'm also giving it 4 stars, not 5, because my friend and I both had the same thing, and as a result, can only attest to the quality of the meatball sub. Everything else might be horrible, so I don't want to give it 5 stars.

Decent pizza, but the point of delivery is they actually come to the door, right? Not call you from outside?

So if you're in the mood to get overcharged and wait hours for your delivery then this is the place to go. I've ordered (personally & with work) several times and everytime it's something. They've never got the order right, food (especially fried) comes soggy, it's always more expensive than the menu says and they say30-45min but never come before an hour (last time it took almost two hours!!!). After last time I called back to complain and the owner/mgr said he would take $10 off our next order...personally, I don't think we should have paid at all, but at least he did something. So today a co-worker and I order, he's says he'll take the $10 off the bill. Low and behold, he doesn't, he did take off the charge on a single sub ($7), but added a mysterious $3 fee at the bottom of the reciept. Long story short, I will NEVER order from here again...and I hope you won't either!

I constantly get coupons from them in the mail, so I decided to try it finally when I had a large group of people and needed to order in. For a decent price, you can get a huge amount of pizza and wings or pretty much any sort of standard fare from a pizza place, such as grinders or calzones. The food, though, is mediocre at best. However, the place is open fairly late and delivers, which are plusses.

The food is decently priced and they deliver late which is awesome. The salads are surprisingly good. The food and appetizers and average which isn't to say they aren't good. Some of the entrees are surprisingly good.
