I'm in love with orange chicken but I could never seem to find a place that makes it right... Until I found this place! Their orange chicken is delicious! It had the right amount of crunch and flavor. At first I was put off by the amount of sauce they used for the chicken and how it was all over my lo mein, but after one bite I was so impressed. Quality. I wasn't super in love with their sushi. I got a yellowtail roll and it tasted a little dry or plain. Next time I'll skip out on sushi and try their other cooked items. They seem to have pretty good reviews too. I highly recommend the orange chicken.

This is my last option for a meal around Berklee. I'm even surprised that it was the 2014 winner of Grubhub for its rice bowl and orange chicken when Terriyaki House does it 100 times better. The service here sucks and the is no care for customer satisfaction. I think the only reason why they're still open is for their cheap prices. The cooks are always sitting outside throughout the day which doesn't help when it comes to customers wanting to be interested in coming in. For $1 more, just walk down 2 more minutes and get some real food at Terriyaki or Boston Burger.

We ordered delivery at 11pm on a Wednesday night and our food arrived by 11:30 (near Fenway). The delivery guy was pretty nice, just trying to get the job done. We only ordered from here because many restaurants were closed already. The lack of good food options past 10pm in Boston irritates me to no end... Yah, yah, first world problems... Whatever. I've been spoiled by New York. Anyway, this is not authentic chinese food by any means, but wow, what a deal! Low prices, HUGE portions, food that's way better than many other Americanized Chinese take-out spots in the area. Scallion pancakes- soggy since they put it in a plastic container, but good taste/flavor Spicy Teriyaki Chicken Bowl- Huge portions... a lot of meat for $6.50! Tender thigh meat. Lo mein with Chicken- Huge portions, actually much better than the lo mein from other places. Not too much dark soy sauce, just how it's supposed to be. Bottom line: Dirt cheap, huge portions, open later than other chinese delivery places, decent quality. Order away!

Today my office ordered lunch from Rice Bowl. There was a big selection on the menu and it had a nice variety! I ordered the crab rangoon as an appetizer and for my main dish, brown rice with steamed veggies. When it was delivered I was surprised to see how much I got for a small price. The mean was absolutely delish!!! I mean DELISH!!! I would order from them again!!

Coming from California, maybe my expectations of good asian food were a little too high. I mean I didn't come in with very high expectations as I just needed something quick to eat but man this was not that great at all. I got the teriyaki chicken with brown rice, aka, frozen chicken pieces that were pan fried and served with microwaved brown rice. It didn't even taste like teriyaki chicken, more like the orange chicken I could get down the street at trader joes and even then I think it would probably taste a little better. It was all just pretty bland. Probably won't be here again unless I REALLY need an Asian food fix or if every other restaurant in the area suddenly dies.

aite. first review in a long time. been busy. missed writing yelp reviews. compelled to yelp today. thus, today i tried something new. i walked around and saw this place "Rice Bowl" that i had driven past several times and decided to give it a shot. now i know some places get a bad rap for this or that or the other thing, so i wanted to try it firsthand. this review will only be about the CRAB RANGOON... cuz that's the only thing i ordered. i was feeling cheap and slightly hungry, and i love crab rangoon despite being a self-respecting Asian person who understands that crab rangoon is about the farthest away from being an Asian as, say... the hot dog bun that some Chinese bakeries sell. but, like the hot dog bun, it's delicious (usually) so whatever whatever i do what i want, nahmsayin? i give the crab rangoon a solid 3 stars. contrary to one of the other reviews - which gave it 5 stars and called it the most amazing thing since, um, the hot dog bun(?) - this crab rangoon was a 3-star crab rangoon. first off, i don't taste the crab (jk; there's rarely crab in these things). the little snack is crispy, which is great. i like crispy stuff. this is crispy. i like it. but honestly, it's nothing special. the cream cheese tastes alright. the duck sauce they give is decent. so while i wouldn't call it CRAP rangoon, i also wouldn't say it's blow-your-mind-rangoon-4-lyfe good, ya know? so i was kinda underwhelmed. for $3.25, though, it's not terrible. if i eat there again, i will update this. verdict: crab rangoon here is crispy but otherwise mediocre.

Rice Bowl's niche market consists of unaware college students. Berklee and Northeastern, to be specific. It's pretty inexpensive, and you get a filling serving of whatever you order. I imagine their stereotypical customer to be a college student living on their own for the first time, on a budget, and unable to cook for themselves. A few frozen dinners line their freezer, a gallon of milk near its expiration date in the fridge, and two different cereals (at most) sit on the counter. A mousetrap in the darkened corner of the kitchen. Okay, I'll stop describing myself now. On recommendation from a friend, I tried the General Gao's chicken with rice, which he marketed as "It's my crack." How could I not, right? Anyway, it was too sweet for me. I'm all for breaded, fried, meat doused in sweet sauce, but there is such a thing as TOO sweet. And this was it. Okay, well, I'll try again. I got the spicy teriyaki chicken bowl. Generous on the chicken! But the spicy was simply some Sriracha on top. Alright. Not bad, Rice Bowl. I waited until trying the sushi before making my final decision. The Ocean Roll: tuna, salmon, and avocado. It was made to order; the rice was soft and the fish was fresh. Having the sesame rolled onto the outside of the roll was a nice touch that not all places care to add. Definitely satisfied my craving for sushi...while leaving me a tad bit disappointed that I hadn't ordered another roll. Rice Bowl is pretty good, overall. The staff is friendly, and I would go here again for a quick bite.

Ordered the Orange Chicken rice bowl - the chicken was alright but the rice was soaked with the orange syrup, which made the entire bowl too sweet for my taste. Service was prompt and food was prepared quickly.

I saw the chicken teriyaki and sushi deal on the menu and figured I'd try it since it seemed like a decent deal. I'm not even sure that the chicken was actually chicken. That added to the fact that there was no taste means I won't be back for seconds. Live and learn.

I live around the corner from here so I wanted to stop in and get take out every single time I walked by. However, I hadn't actually stopped in 3 months since moving to the neighborhood so I decided it was actually time. I ordered general Gao's chicken to go. It had a spicy indicator on the menu so I was excited about it. When I got it, it was super hot. So I walked the three minutes home in the freezing cold. It was still hot when I started eating it. The brown rice was pretty good. Not too sticky. The chicken was syrupy sweet and not at all spicy. It's run of the mill Chinese food. I will need to go back to try the sushi because that seems to be better. There are so many other asian restaurants around I would expect them to be top notch just for sake of competition. The service was quick and short - not exceptionally friendly. I hear they deliver but since I'm so close I can't imagine delivery. But maybe if it's snowing...

Literally one of the top places I order for takeout. They have the best crab rangoons. I really do mean the best, too. I've never had any rangoons that were as crispy and creamy while being totally non-greasy! It's amazing how they do it. Our top orders usually comprise of them and some sort of bowl. I love how they have a coupon for a free teriyaki bowl with orders of $30 or more. We sometimes pass by just to order crab rangoon in store. Seriously.

I had a craving for Chinese food on a cold winter night. I ordered through Seamless Web as I had a $12 off coupon. My estimate delivery was 45-60 min and it took longer than that. So the food was cold. The food was not good and had no flavoring. I ordered the General Gau's chicken with fried rice. It was so bland and did not any spice or kick to the chicken. The chicken lo mein was thin noodles, no veggies and no taste appeal at all. The chicken fingers, pork dumplings and spring rolls had no flavor to them. I will not be ordering from here again ever.

The worst service ever!!!!!!!!! I tired to give them a chance because I have to admit the food is good, but at the same time at work we had order several times and there is always an issue! or they forget the free item they advertised or part of my original order. For the love of got!! don't order when is snowing or raining the delivery guy wont get of the car for nothing!!! but he will make sure to tell you you must tip him!!!!. .and yes!! i will never again order from this venue...

Okay so it was Sunday night and we didn't feel like going out. I'm not going to say I'm a pro at ordering chinese take out, but man did I fail by picking this place. We ordered chicken fingers, crab rangoons, pepper steak, friend rice and general gaus chicken. I asked for extra duck sauce. It took almost an hour to arrive at our Beacon Hill apartment, everything except for the pepper steak was COLD - not even kind of warm, just plain COLD. And guess what? I didn't get the extra duck sauce. The chicken fingers were overcooked to the point that the breading(?) crumbled all over the place when you took a bite. Won't be ordering from these guys again!

I was looking forward to this meal based on the good reviews. Unfortunately, I never received my food. I placed my order around 8PM and called the first time around 9:20 asking for a status update on my delivery. I was told the delivery driver was on his way. Then when I called the second time at 10:05PM, I was told the delivery driver tried to call me, which he didn't, and since I didn't pick up he left. He didn't even attempt to go to the door and ring for me. So when I made the point that my phone obviously works since I was talking to them, they said they didn't know when they would make it back to my apt to deliver my now cold food. I ended up cancelling my order. Never ordering from here again.

Aaah this place is a great place to grab a cheap bite. They do a range of rice bowls (as the name suggests) as well as sushi rolls and sushi pieces (nigiri). They don't do squid though *welp* I got the teriyaki chicken bowl, and there's a decent portion of meat and veges. Wait wasn't too long.. around 7 minutes (although we were there around 11:30 and it wasn't too busy). It's a easy place to grab a bite so don't except anything fancy from it.

  • Sandra N.

We placed an order of 2 entrées and 2 appetizers through beyondmenu.com and it took 1hr25mins to arrive. However, we were pleased that the food was still hot when it got here.

  • Alice W.

First time I've order from this place. Hot & Sour Soup was boring..and not hot or sour! Pork dumplings were good. Main dish was shrimp with vegetables with lo mein instead of rice. The lo mein was dry and tasteless. Shrimp were tiny and vegetables tasted canned/frozen. Sauce was decent. I guess I'm spoiled ordering mostly from Thaitation or eating in Chinatown. Would I order from here again...sorry, it's a no!

  • Susie Q.

Took an hour and a half for them to deliver, and when the delivery guy got here he left my food in the lobby counter because 'there was no parking' so he wasn't able to wait. I ordered the pad thai and it was extremely soggy, along with the watered-down bubbletea. Needless to say, I absolutely will not be ordering from here again.

Maybe it was because I was super hungry. Or maybe because I'm pregnant. BUT I swear that Rice Bowl has THE BEST pepper steak I have ever had. Really, the best pepper steak. And pepper steak is one of my favorite things to get at Chinese places so I've had my share of pepper steak. The steak is very lean, the veggies (onion, peppers, and celery) are very crisp and fresh. The sauce sealed the deal with a peppery bite. The bubble tea is great as well. The strawberry green bubble tea is my favorite. I'm already thinking about the next time I can get take out from here.

Very disappointed. Rude service and I found multiple hairs in and around my dumplings. Would not recommend it at all.

I usually order take-out from here. Standard stuff, but nothing to complain about. Service is good and people are nice there..

General Gao's chicken with rice. Jesus you are speaking to me. This is one of the best dishes they have for sure and best of all, FREE DELIVERY! The delivery is never very quick so don't order on an empty, starving stomach, but still... it's free! Their bubble tea is also the best I've had in Boston so far, and I'm crazy picky over bubble tea.

  • Madly M.

This place is great, the food is reasonably priced, and the people that work there seem to like what they do and are nice to their customers. I have eaten there and had there food delivered, they deliver pretty fast too. My most favorite item being their bubble tea: black milk tea and their taro tea. Also its really nice that they offer discounts after ordering a certain amount of food, it was sad to see the spicy tuna roll discount go, but there are at least other options :) Highly recommend this place to anyone who wants an affordable meal with quality.

Great rice bowls (who would've known), very good Tso chicken, and I'm also a fan of their bubble tea. I ordered from here many times in college- only argued with the driver once because he thought I didn't tip him enough ($3 on a $20 order). Maybe he had a rough day but that exchange caused me to not order from them for a long time.

  • Adrienne T.

They got me with the really nice menu they left on my door. Very well done, makes them look a step or three above other places of the same type. The delivery driver was actually nice! He chatted a little, and didn't toss my bag of food at me and walk off. My food came in a neat plastic container with compartments. No styrofoam box. Yay!! I had the Mongolian Beef, and there was plenty of beef! Wow! Now, the actual food; ewww. Mongolian Beef was WAY TOO SALTY- couldn't finish it. Beef was so tough that it made a pre-exisiting cavity hurt. Fried rice was very good, but it arrived cold. Verdict: nah.

I ordered delivery through Seamless from this place for the first time tonight. I was a bit wary of ordering sushi when it was so cheap and the reviews were not great, so I ordered a "broccoli with meat" and chose beef as my meat. I also got a bubble tea. I would give the food 2.5 stars normally and 3 stars when I'm really hungry. Given that it was cheap, Americanized Chinese food, it wasn't too bad, just too salty. The bubble tea was sugary and the tea itself was barely noticeable, but definitely not the worst I've had in Boston. I gotta say that the delivery itself was awesome. Seamless estimated 45-60 minutes and it got here in 40! Of course, I ordered way after dinner time and live pretty close, but it was still a nice surprise. Final impression? Not bad. I think I'll check out some other delivery places before coming back to this one, but it will do in a pinch.

Great place to get take out/delivery! I haven't actually eaten at the restaurant but the delivery is so fast - literally less than 25 minutes which is awesome. The sushi is pretty good and the prices are pretty cheap. I love that it's more Asian fusion so I can satisfy both cravings for some sushi rolls and crab ragoons. Best part is they also have bubble tea which is my favorite! Oh and I also order through foodler.com and they have some great coupons like a free order of teriyaki chicken and rice if you spend $25+ and it's tasty! Happy to have found this place that delivers fast and has good food!

This is a flat-out good place to get takeout to spread over your bed and dig into while you watch netflix. When you crave Chinese food, it tastes just like what you've been craving. Nothing more, nothing less. Get a Sesame Chicken rice bowl and sub rice for lo mein and you'll have a days worth of food. Crab rangoon is also pretty good. Haven't tried much else but I can confidently vouch for this place as a quick/cheap/convenient option for Berklee lame-os who want to get there oriental cuisine on in the wee small hours. Not 5 stars because no chinese restaurant in Boston deserves 5 stars

  • Cung T.

Pretty much the same menu as the nearby Teriyaki House with small differences. I usually head to t-house, but sometimes like I like go here for my rice bowl cravings. I always get a spicy chicken bowl, because I know I wont be disappointed. Comes with rice, some veggie, and teriyaki chicken topped with sriracha sauce. And I always grab bubble tea here too! It's not the best bubble tea, but since there are no other options around this is probably your best bet. The bubble tea is more milky here normally and the bubbles are a tiny bit smaller, so keep those in mind. The cups are machined sealed, which is really useful if you get a lot. I usually order with my friend, so when I get 20 bubble teas, I don't have to worry about spilling :) I recommend this place for cheap rice bowls and bubble tea when your hungry

  • Nikhil P.

Spicy Teriyaki Chicken. Spicy, not crazy amounts of teriyaki sauce, and a decent amount of chicken. I got takeout sushi from here a little while ago and that was not a good experience. (The fish was kind of nasty, and I'm pretty sure the seaweed wrap is still stuck to my teeth). They do a way better job though on their rice dishes, plus there's no waking up at 2:00am thirstier than all hell.

  • Jeffrey Z.

Definitely the best Chinese delivery in Boston. This place got me through some late nights the last couple years of college, especially since the delivery is almost always very fast. The Szechuan chicken bowl is so good I dream about it...

  • Christina C.

Oh man. Before I moved out of Boston recently, I used to order from Rice Bowl all the time. They are slightly cheaper than their Teriyaki House counterpart, and their service is quicker most times. It's your typical Americanized-Chinese food, but hey, they're located right smack in between a few colleges and serve as a great lunch or late night meal option. I also like that they work with/are listed with a few different apps. I remember "checking in" on my iPhone and I received a free bubble tea. (I'm not sure what the app's name was, as this was a while ago..it was a locally developed app)

Great food. Great company. I eat from here about once a week. It's the best asian food in the area for the best price ($7 for a bowl) and they deliver close to instantly, even to Mission Hill. Today I messed up ordering online and ordered general tofu instead of general gau chicken. After it was delivered, I called them up, told them what happened and even though it was my mistake, they delivered me a replacement free of charge. Five stars.

Mediocre Chinese food at mediocre prices in a good location. Expect all the staples.

  • Angela L.

Pros: 1. Food is actually decent; above par for Chinese-American food and satisfied my late night taste-of-home cravings. 2. Opens late! During the college semester I nap after classes and get too lively at night so I need food to calm myself down, and the dining halls are closed by the time I awake. I think Rice Bowl has delivered to me at 1:30 am once. 3. The fried rice (excuse the stereotype) and shrimp tempura sushi rolls are good! Cons: 1. The food is good but it's sooo greasy. Eck. 2. This place is literally a shack and it looks unsanitary. Just order delivery instead. 3. Nothing else beside the fried rice and sushi rolls are good. Everything else is just super greasy and super soy-sauced. The bubble tea is just disgusting and they literally make the ice cream themselves. Last time that I ate the green tea ice cream, it still had large amounts of the raw unmixed powder inside the dough. 4. Not pricey for the neighborhood, but kind of expensive for the quality of the food they're providing. A container of fried rice & the ST rolls amount to ~$30 with tax and tip.

  • Heather G.

In the world of Chinese food (the American, takeout variety), this place is basically the worst. I was perusing Foodler one evening, looking for your typical grad-student fare: something: 1. Thai or Chinese 2. Cheap 3. No delivery fee or order minimum 4. Fast delivery time 5. Cheap In no particular order. When I found Rice Bowl, I was delighted and gleeful at the apparently check in all my above-boxes. THIS PLACE IS SO CHEAP! An entire rice bowl here is basically the price of a fancy coffee at the Starbucks across the street. One little piece of me nagged from inside, reminding me of the laws of supply and demand, and the potential reasons that this place would be so cheap (despite the availability of inexpensive input costs). The rest of me ignored that little voice because, well, I hate economics. I've served my time and I'll never return to the dark side. So when that voice came up over and over, I squashed it back. How hard is it, anyway, to make good, cheap, American Takeout Chinese Food? Probably not that hard, yeah? No. Yes, Rice Bowl is cheap, but everything about it is bland. Rice bowls are filled with (you guessed it) white rice, and come with just a few burnt, unseasoned pieces of mystery meat on top. Each dish was bland-er and dry-er than the one before it, and a few bites in, that little voice in my head came back. I hate that little b*tch. she always thinks she knows what's going on. So, I cursed my inner better-judgment, tossed the mostly uneaten lightly-brown rice piles into the fridge, and waited for my roommate to get home and figure out a way to take care of it. Lesson learned. Adam Smith: 1, Heather G.: 0

I wanted to order some schezuan tofu from them, and they delivered. When I received my order, I found a piece of meat in it. I called back to ask for my money back, and they told me to pick out the piece of meat. The contact of the meat with my food is unacceptable for me, so when I insisted for my money back, they said they could only give me store credit. When I asked how they would know it was me, they said by my phone number. I asked them if they could give me a coupon code or something I could use for redeeming my store credit, and the guy on the other line called me a "dickhead." I thought I was pretty polite when I asked him to "please give me another way I can make sure I get store credit", upon which he called me a liar and a dickhead. Cool. Screw these guys. Talk about a bunch of jerks...

The food is identical to that of any other decent Chinese food restaurant, but, in this instance, the presentation goes a very long way. A big boy sized bowl of rice with a moderate yet sufficient portion of chicken on top accompanied by an assortment of fresh vegetables. Food came out damn near immediately but was fast food quality. Don't come here for the food, come because it's quick, easy, neat, and the guy working is pretty cool. Also, Free cups of water.

  • Rebekah H.

I ordered the Sesame Chicken and Pork Dumplings. The dumplings were great, the chicken was average. It tasted fine, although the breading around the chicken was a little bit soggy, and there was about a cup of sauce way too much. Overall it was decent for the price, and a good portion, i couldn't finish it all in one sitting.

This is the quintessential "don't judge a book by it's cover" type of restaurant. Around the corner from a strip of well known eateries (Spikes Junkyard, Boston Burger Company, etc.), the Rice Bowl looks like it may have seen better days from the outside. I'll admit, I was slightly concerned about the quality of the food from its outward appearance - but the interior looks like any other clean, American Chinese restaurant: wood and steel tables and chairs, white walls, minimalistic decor. I ordered at the counter, and still slightly hesitant, decided against ordering sushi (my favorite food in the world). Instead, I opted for the Eggplant with Garlic Sauce ($6.50) and white steamed rice. Less than 10 minutes later, the largest, freshest meal I've even been served at a Chinese food restaurant was in front of me. The eggplant was a beautiful purple color, and the sauce was sweet and spicy. I wasn't that hungry, but because it was so delicious, I inhaled the entire lunch. I would definitely go back to the Rice Bowl if I were in the mood for a delicious, cheap, and filling lunch. It may not look like much from the outside, but it is definitely a solid choice in the area.

3.5 stars. It took about 30 minutes to get food delivered to Fenway -- they originally quoted an hour, so the delivery was ahead of time. $2 delivery charge. No attitude or rudeness from the delivery man. The rice bowls are a good deal; most are between $5-7 and the portions are very generous. One bowl can easily make two meals. Both the teriyaki chicken and General Gau bowls were delicious. It's no gourmet food and won't exactly send you into blissful Chinese food ecstasy, but it's simple stuff done well. Also, kids, cheap sushi = bad sushi. Don't order sushi from here. Stick to the fake Chinese food.

  • Aural E.

I like the sushi here. They have quality cuts of fish and it always tastes delicious. This place is perfect for anyone looking to try sushi for the first time. The prices are awesome and you can order individual pieces of sushi if your looking to try something without buying a whole lot. It's right near a lot of cool things Boston has to offer such as Fenway Park and Newbury St.

I have ordered from here a number of times via Foodler and have yet to be disappointed. I generally stick to their "Chinese" fare (I have never had the sushi) and have always been happy with the food. I agree with other reviewers that indicate that the menu is a hit or miss. Some dishes are great, others not so much. Therefore, pay attention to other reviews as they may help to steer you away from dishes that are not so great. I love the appetizers. The entrees are very good, but not quite as good as the appetizers. I cannot speak to the sushi. It's convenient (closes at midnight and delivery is usually fast). Customer service has always been responsive and polite. The quality of the food is excellent compared to other options in the area. Give them a try if you're craving American Chinese food.

I ordered General Gau's chicken but received Sweet and Sour. On top of that, the sweet and sour was way to sweet. It was like eating molasses covered chicken. Never ordering from here again.

  • A B.

I've been here multiple times, the place is always dirty, sticky floors, food left over on the tables. Teriyaki house right next door is far better in terms of ambience, food and service, which is why rice bowl is always empty and T house is packed. The beef bowl here is just very average, the sauce they are too salty, the sushi is stale and you can taste that. I wouldn't want to go here again, the place just looks grim. Walk less than a block over and head to T house for a much better experience.

  • Jenna K.

The worst. Literally the worst service, food, everything. Sushi is most definitely not fresh. Also got hung up on 2 times. There are so many sushi restaurants in Boston that you have your pick. Don't go here. AVOID!!!

  • Keith M.

5-stars because.. Dirt Cheap and Value for money. Great quantity for the money you pay. I love the Spicy Teriyaki Chicken Bowl or Schezuwan Chicken bowls. Best late-night-food-fix in the area!

  • Damien P.

The rice bowls are edible and well priced, but they are far from great. Given that I was looking for Chinese on a budget, it definitely qualifies. The Lo Mein is entirely too greasy, so avoid that. I ordered through grubhub, and my delivery experience was similar to what a lot of people mentioned. They expected time was an hour, which seemed long. They showed up after over an hour and a half. When I asked the delivery guy what took so long, he basically yelled at me and pushed the food in my hand. The worst thing about my experience was the delivery, but outside of that its not a terrible place.

I will never order Chinese food for delivery anywhere else! I've ordered from Rice Bowl three times now, and each time, I swear, the food gets better. I've had the General Gau's chicken, the chicken teriyaki, and the peppered beef rice bowls. Each is really delicious, in its own way. The meat in each dish is good quality cuts, nothing weird, stringy, fatty, or chewy. In the chicken teriyaki especially, the meat was very tasty and fresh. I've had the fried rice, the white rice, and the lo mein as sides, and they're are all fantastic as well. Nothing is too greasy here, as I often find cheap Chinese places are. The crab rangoons taste strongly of crab, unlike others that are light on the crab, heavy on the cream cheese. I also have had the vegetable tempura, and though it wasn't as crispy as I'd like, I blame that on the delivery. The vegetables were fresh and really flavorful. The black milk tea with boba is phenomenal. I've had boba at several places, even some just dedicated to tea, and this was by far my favorite tea ever. The flavor of the black tea was just enough, not overwhelming, but still a strong presence. The milk was creamy and balanced the bitterness of the tea, and it was PERFECTLY sweetened. The boba in it was wonderful, too, just the right amount, and not too chewy. Delivery is usually on time. They were only about 10 minutes past the expected time once, so not a big deal. I only have one complaint about this place: I wish the rice bowls came with a little bit more veggies. There are only a few on the side. Other than that, I love Rice Bowl. I almost can't wait for classes to start again so I have an excuse to order some late-night Chinese!

There's just something about food packed into a segmented plastic tray. Maybe it's the memories of tv dinners in the awesome crinkly-foil trays as a kid. Ovened to within an inch of their lives, the 'brownie' well and truly fused to the package and wholly inedible. Ah, memories. Perhaps that was why i was so pleased to open that satisfyingly hefty warm brown paper bag (which i cradled a few blocks home on the way back from running), carefully handed to me horizontally by a nice cashier to find my General Gau's Chicken hobby kit so lovingly organized. Chicken, rice. Orange, white. Inside is a fine rendition of my favorite 'Chinese' dish, with a nearly perfect amount of coating on the chicken, and a just-north-of mild spicy flavor to it. And a ton of rice. For around $8.50 you get a pretty much perfect (for me, at least, and after a run, you bet i can take down the take-out) amount of food, compared with other places which run about $3 more for maybe a little bit bigger portions once you tack on the cost of rice. My new favorite, hands down.

Yes yes and yes Peach-Green Tea Bubble Tea! I'd been craving some really good boba and had no clue where to find some in the city until my friend took me here. I must have walked by it twenty times on my way to Newbury since moving to Boston, but I'd just never been brave enough to stop in and actually try it. So glad I finally did! And I also got to try the spicy tofu rice bowl which is pretty great, and massive so felt like I got my money's worth. Overall I really enjoyed this little hole-in-the-wall asian food place, if nothing else for a good bubble tea close by school. I'll definitely be going back sometime soon, or since they deliver for free...

Delivery took 2 hours!!!!!!!!! On a Wens and I live 5 min walk away, should have just picked it up but it was already in the car when I called them 3 times to get an update. Go elsewhere.

I've ordered delivery twice so far from Rice Bowl. Online ordering & delivery: - Flawless experience, very easy ordering off Foodler. - Both times I got my food in less than 20 min., so that is awesome. Food: - You'd probably be better off with appetizers than entrees. We liked the scallion pancake. I had the crab rangoons myself & it was all right. - Spicy chicken teriyaki rice bowl: some questionable chewy chicken parts, veggies were kind of dry, but this is a very generous portion. - General Gau's chicken: maybe because I ordered this at 1 AM, but it wasn't hot & was just weird. The BF thought it smelled fishy. Price: - Dirt-cheap Americanized Chinese food delivered right to your door. Overall: The main food items just haven't cut it for me though. This makes me sad because I love Americanized Chinese food. If you're hungry & need a late-night fix, I'd probably just spend a few extra bucks on pizza.

Rice Bowl. C'mon. I hate to do this to you but I have to deduct a few stars. Let's recap what I love: * cheap! * free delivery * tofu. I love tofu- and Rice Bowl has it. Great. Here's what I don't love: * it takes over an hour for delivery. Granted, I could get off my lazy ass and walk to Rice Bowl from my apartment- but when I want to get something delivered, I want it delivered in reasonable time! I know delivery is free, but still. * Learn how to buzz an apartment. They call me everytime they're downstairs, to come and meet them. Again, this is exemplifying my laziness when I order from them, but I'm just saying-- the buzzer is there for a reason. * the food- this is my main reason for updating my review. Lately it's been less than satisfactory. To the point of nearly disgusting me. When I've ordered my usual spicy tofu or home style tofu dishes, the sauce seems really old, and the vegetables nearly rotten. No joke. Gross. I started getting my Thai fix from Pho Basil for the simple fact that their food is actually completely edible. I know it's a lot to ask, but seriously. Rice Bowl, you done me wrong, but I am willing to forgive. Step up your game if you really want to impress me, I'm not that hard to please.

It's a 2 star at best. I'm enjoying the over the top 5 star reviews. Me, I eat in and I see things...lol At best they are benign and over worked. The lady who always takes my order, never pays attention, always gets it wrong, could care less, I'm interrupting her love affair with her phone or lap top. Other important thing in this take out mecca, the microwave. Many a buffet-style prepped food gets ZAPPED and sent out. Nothings great or so bad you'd never return. This IS the fine standard a food joint in the Fenway must keep. Hot & fresh? Sorry. Did I feel like complaining about the soup that I asked for and didn't get? Nope, didn't see the point in landing in an argument I wouldn't win.

We've ordered Rice Bowl delivery several times and it's just A-OK. The food is decent and is good for late night but we would not go out of our way to eat there. The delivery time is not bad... usually within 40 minutes from when we call it in. The delivery people are always nice but the food is not good enough to give a higher rating. Their menu is a must have in your take out stash but it's nothing special. We've had just about every roll of sushi and several of their Chinese dishes. We like the coupons on the bottom of the take out menu for free roll if you order over a certain dollar amount. They have several coupons like that and we usually take advantage.

This place replaces another place no one will miss (City Kitchen), without even a paint color change in the space I don't think. Instead of boring sandwiches, it's boring chinese now. The best i can say is the food is decently cooked (neither over nor under), but BLAND BLAND BORING.... The service is absolutely terrible. I ordered chicken teriaki, a diet soda and a spring roll. I was brought out the main dish. But not the soda or spring roll. I asked for both, and was given a soda and attempted to be charged again for that and the spring roll. I said "No, i already ordered the spring roll, but haven't gotten it." I got a slight nod and sat down. Still no roll. The one woman bringing food finally tracked it down with a slight apology after my 3rd request. Add in the personal-space-oblivious Berklee kids. It's a nightmare. Avoid at all costs.

Rice Bowl... Ordered takeout via foodler.com this weekend and was not disappointed. This isn't the place to go for a date (very small restaurant with less-than-stellar decor), but it was fine for a night at home.

They aren't terrible, but stay away from the teriyaki chicken. Its all chewy chickin bits, very nasty. Get the general gaus instead

Meh. The fried rice I ordered was cold when it came via delivery (which took more than 45 minutes on a Thursday when I'm located two blocks away!). It tasted alright, but it was definitely nothing special. The udon noodles my friend ordered were also just "alright," according to him. The prices are average for chinese in the Fenway area, but you can do better in terms of price and taste just steps away on Boylston street.

My work orders out often for lunch, and the Rice Bowl was the pick of the week. I'm not a huge fan of sushi, but their crunchy spicey tuna sushi is to die for! (along with their scallion pancakes!) We will definitely order from here again.

  • Maleia S.

I did like most, and ordered through Foodler, and while my food was a bit late, (the driver was new, I guess) the food was delish! Okay, there's a reason why everyone loves the scallion pancake - it's huge, delicious and WELL worth the $3 price tag. It was my favorite. I also got the pork dumplings, which were really good and very full of pork. For my beverage, I got the almond milk bubble tea and it was SO good! Sweet, for sure, so if you're not a fan of sugar, you may not like it. Finally, I got the crispy tuna roll, and while it was good, it wasn't exactly crispy - I was expecting a little more crunch, but for its class of sushi, it was good. Overall, getting delivery from Rice Bowl was a fine experience, even if they were a little late. I'm still a little nervous to order anything else based on the reviews posted here, though, but I'll do it anyway because it's way more affordable than most other places.

I have never been to Rice Bowl, but after my delivery experiences I doubt I will be going there given any other choice. The first time I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki Bowl, and got major stomach issues after. That was quite some time back though, and then a few of my friends who are really picky about where they eat ordered from here, and it didn't look so bad so I thought I'd give it another try. I shouldn't have. I ordered the Sesame Chicken and Almond Milk Tea with Boba. This definitely goes down as my worst order ever. The food was late to start with, and the Chicken was really hard, and quite gross, at one point I even doubted it was chicken meat and have various other scenarios in my head. I couldn't even have more than 3 bites of it. After that, I thought its ok - I still have my Boba Tea. I'll just slurp away the awfulness of the meal, and ignore my hungry stomach. The tea was decent to say the least, but the Tapioca was bad. I had to throw everything away. And I'm the person who will save food or give it away to someone, just not to waste any. I walked straight to the trash and got rid of it. Avoid this at al costs!!

I usually order here for delivery when I crave some american chinese -- there's not that many restaurants that deliver. Rice Bowl is affordable but the menu is hit or miss. I'd recommend the chicken curry bowl as that is very flavorful. The almond milk tea is very good as well. Surprisingly, the customer service is pretty amazing, although there was this one time I got harassed by the delivery guy when *he* messed up the order and threatened me on the phone. I called back to their main office line and offered to pay the difference but the person on the phone told me that it wasn't necessary, was their fault, and they were just happy that we were full! I'd continue to order from them -- just need to make sure the delivery guy doesn't go irate on my voicemail again.

Not the best place best ever. My #1 thing of advice is the sushi is terribad. It tasted worse than the pre-packaged stuff you get at Trader Joes. Lesson learned, American Chinese restaurants make for a bad sushi experience. I also ordered the fried chicken tenders, which was extremely dry and tasteless. The dipping sauce provided wasn't great either and that was the only thing you could taste. Mongolian beef was more like mongolian onions. There was very little beef, and lots of onions. I'm not sure I would order from these people again, even though their delivery was quite quick.

I thought the suishi was pretty good for the value. We got 3 rolls, 4 pieces of nigri, and a terriyaki bowl for $25. But I also have an iron stomach, so take that for whats its worth.

Don't know why rice bowl gets a bad rap here, I love it! Spicy tofu rice bowl is wonderful here, is cheap, but is more expensive than the chicken rice bowl!?!? Get the spicy tofu bowl, you won't regret it. Also, they play weird ads for their own restaurant on the TV's which is a bit odd.

Holy Hell this place is terrible. Now I have had bad Chinese food, and frankly if you are reviewing a Chinese restaurant, you need to grade on a scale. Taking even that into consideration, this place is awful. It is LITERALLY outside of my window, it couldn't be any closer, and I will STILL walk somewhere else the next time I need Chinese food. The wonton soup was cold. Not lukewarm, cold. And it wasn't from the trip home, since again, it is about 14 yards from my front door and I picked up the order. Additionally, the base/stem of the lettuce was in the soup. That big, inedible, root part. That was in the soup. It took up 1/3rd the bowl. At least it occupied space that more cold, rubbery, slimy wontons may have otherwise existed in. The beef teriyaki bowl was totally inedible. I know the jokes about Chinese "beef", but this set a new standard. It was the first time in a very long time where I legitimately questioned the animal of origin with a piece of meat. Couldn't even finish half of it. The chicken fingers were passable, but maybe they really sucked more than I realized, but since they were the only edible things in the order, they got a pass. Although they did include about one fluid dram of duck sauce, so I had to choke them down totally dry. I'd sooner starve to death in my apartment window, while watching people eat at this restaurant than eat here again.

I love rice bowl. The delievery always comes when they say it will come, and the people one the phone and deliverying the food are always very nice. My orders have always been right too. Although not everything from rice bowl is over the top notable, its always good and is never gross. I have never gotten sick from their food, and I am always pleased with everything I order. They have a nice selection of chinese and japanese food, and their lunch menu is a really great deal. I went there in person and it wasnt sketch or filthy at all. The place is clean and you can see the kitchen.

Okay...stop with all these bad reviews. Rice Bowl is NOT a bad place. Since it's opening just a couple weeks ago, I've been there 3 or 4 times. Never have a had bad service, and they even bring the food out to you and serve you like a restaurant without you having to pay a tip (you order and pay first at the front). That's better than Teriyaki House, who give horrible service, and charge a tip fee. it's cheaper than Nan Ling, AND cheaper than Teriyaki House. The layout is nice, the paint is new, and the ambiance is agreeable. So far, I've tried the teriyaki chicken, general gau chicken (which wasn't that horrible as described above), bourbon chicken, shumai, pork gyoza, and the chocolate milk tea with tapioca. All have been more than satisfactory at a good price.

  • Sean H.

This place isn't as nice decor wise as the Teriyaki House right around the corner ... It's got more of a hole in the wall feel , but don't let looks fool you. I had miso soup and some sushi. It was extremely good, fresh ingredients, and reasonably priced.

I'm not really sure what all the hate is about. I'm sort of a vegetarian so I've only tried chicken here once. I got the General Tso. I thought it was tasty. My friends love it here though. They were coming long before they knew me, and it's always a go-to when none of us can make the decision about where to go. Most of the Chinese places in the Fenway vicinity give me terrible stomach aches. So I was ecstatic to find a place that made me feel full and happy after. My favorite dish is the sechuan spicy tofu with vegetables, accompanied by an appetizer of spring rolls. They are both delicious, in my opinion, and very flavorful. The next time I go or order, I'm going to get the tofu again, with the veggie tempura. I gave it four stars because I'm not really a fan of their attitudes in the place. Honestly, could you give me a second to catch my breath? And I dislike how they don't give you a receipt. It's kind of weird that they make you sign one but you don't get a copy. Also it seems a little dirty to me. But that's just because the floor is a little sticky sometimes. These things don't bother me, though, once the food is in my mouth. I'm definitely making this place the only Chinese place I order from in Boston.

Wow, I am really glad I ate here because of a friends recommendation, instead of going by the reviews listed and possibly avoiding the place. Got delivery twice, both times they were perfect. First time they showed up early! (as estimated by foodler) The food I got was great! Hot and fresh and yummy. Bourbon chicken with white rice, scallion pancake, and some crab rangoon. The pancake had a perfect crisp on the outside. The second time ordering; sesame chicken with lo mein, pork dumplings, and that amazing scallion pancake again. The lo mein wasnt anything to get excited about, I probably will just get white rice as a side again, but I just wanted to try it. Sesame chicken, yum yum. Actual pieces of noticeable, juicy, tasty chicken? What is this world coming to? The pork dumplings were pork pot stickers just as I remember my mom making them. Could have used a tad more crisp on the bottom( maybe some more onion) but, if I can fit in "just as my mother used to make it" when it comes to food, that's five stars in my book. I definitely plan on eating here again. (the scallion pancake.)

I ordered from here once and was pleasantly surprised. I'm accustomed to delivery taking at least 30 mins to arrive if not 2hours...as has happened to me in the past. I don't live to far from rice bowl but I ordered and was getting a knock on the door just 15 mins later!!! I was so surprised I didn't even think it could be them at the door. I ordered the Chicken and Broccoli dinner which was a HUGE portion. I was able to make it into two meals. It was really delicious and had lots of the sauce they cook it in which I like to mix with the rice. I give this place a 4/5 because....I also got a bubble tea. I won't be ordering one from them again. It was very watered down and didn't have much flavor to it.

  • Lisa S.

I ordered vegetable, cucumber, avocado, and California rolls. None of them tasted "quite right" -- I guess the ingredients used were not very good quality. Even some supermarkets sell better tasting sushi. UPDATE: I tried the place again, and I liked the sushi a lot more this time around. Very kind service, still very well-priced, and decent enough sushi. Sure, it's not gourmet, but then again, I'm not paying that much. So, if you want cheap sushi and quick delivery, I guess it's good enough.

  • Mara M.

Wow, a lot of contention on this one. I love Rice Bowl. I probably order delivery every week from this place (recommend Foodler for ordering), and I've absolutely never gotten sick. It always shows up on time, or early. And while you can find non-delicious things, there's a lot of great stuff to choose from. Favorites include: crunchy spicy tuna roll, eel roll..actually all of the sushi's pretty good. Yes, its not as good as if you go to a restaurant and pay 3x as much. That's kind of a given. But its very good for its class of sushi. I also love that I can get a variety of other things at the same time. I love the black pepper beef (either rice bowl or entree) and the spicy tofu rice bowl. The bubble tea is some of my favorite in Boston - honey, passion fruit, strawberry green teas and the milk tea are all fantastic. The scallion pancake and crab wontons deserve a mention, though they're a cut below my other faves. Try it out. You may fall in love and order every week..

Claim: I've found Teriyaki House's slutty twin sister. Support: -Nearly identical menus (fraternal twin then?), so food is tasty for the most part and cheap. -Whereas Teriyaki House is located on a legit major street around other businesses, Rice Bowl could be found on a quiet alley way just around the block. -Perhaps due to this location, the crowd is smaller and hence, the wait is shorter and service is quick. -The clientele don't linger around like they do at TH. Conclusion: I'd hit it (again). PS: I see some ignant comments about chicken meat here--- last I heard, a chicken was a whole animal containing meat (white and dark), bones, and.... wait for it, tendons! Perhaps the person who discovered chewiness in their general gau's is confused, but chicken is far from "uniform in texture"--- if this is what you're looking for, go to McD's where the chickens seem to only grow huge breasts.

The sushi here is incredibly fresh! I watched them prepare the rolls, including cutting a fresh avocado. A fair price and a pretty wide menu. The decor is very basic, but that's fine because at this price point it is much more important to have delicious food. Would recommend getting take out and eating it in the park on a nice day.

I've only had bubble tea here once, and it was enough to put me off this place. Extremely stale tapioca balls and even though the "honey dew" is from a powder, I don't know how they managed to mess it up.

The service and seating area are nice and they will bring the food out to you. Their crab rangoon isn't all that special and I wouldn't suggest you go there for the sushi. But the sesame chicken is good and we will return just for that!

You know, in this modern age of yelp and consumer reporting, it's really rare that I come across a place of business that has absolutely abhorrent customer service. However, apparently Rice Bowl hasn't gotten the message, because being a complete jerk to a customer isn't necessarily the best way to earn repeat visits - especially when customers make an effort to post a negative review 30 minutes after their order was delivered. In fact, I didn't even eat but three bites of it because 1. it was gross, and 2. not even remotely worth the extra 30 minutes of cardio that their MSG-laden food would require. ...Although with the mood they put me in, I could probably do some serious damage in a kickboxing class right about now. I placed an order online and while it was delivered rather quickly, I was amazed at how rude their delivery person was he arrived. When buzzing my apartment, he didn't do it once, but at least five times - each for an amount of time long enough to imply that he was annoyed and trying to get my attention. I buzzed the door for him to get through so I could meet him downstairs, but he just kept buzzing - over and over and over. When I buzzed, he'd buzz back, and longer. Wondering what the heck was going on, I called down on the loudspeaker and he doesn't ask, but YELLS, for me to "come downstairs!" And when I got there, he was literally standing at the end of the sidewalk - probably a good 50 feet from my front door - hurled the food at me, mumbled a thank you, and walked off. The best part is that when I checked my phone a couple of minutes ago (which has been unknowingly on silent), I had four missed calls from them. You know, I'm not someone to make delivery people wait, I always go down and meet them, and I tip well. I understand being in a hurry, but there is such thing as treating customers politely, and this was really unwarranted. As soon as I heard the door, I went to meet him - it's not like he was standing down there for ten minutes. He wasn't even down there for two! Really, just skip this place. Teriyaki House is great and just around the corner. Rice Bowl really must be fooling themselves to think that they can have a thriving business with horrible food and even worse customer service.

The maki rolls were small, but fresh, and priced very reasonably. We got delivery, so I can't comment on the restaurant itself, but the service was fast and friendly. Our order arrived in a timely manner and everything was correct. They even delivered on the low sodium soy sauce and extra ginger, per my request. While it wasn't the best sushi I've ever eaten, I wouldn't hesitate to order it again next time we're craving a sushi fix at work.

    (3)
  • Lisa C.

This place was decent and really cheap. I got the maki combo which is 4 rolls for a really good price. It wasnt great sushi but it was fine and cheap. i also got rice noodles with chicken which was a little bland but not anything a little bit of hot sauce couldnt fix and i got hot and sour soup which was also kind of bland. Its definitely not the best asian food out there, but its really cheap and decent.

I had a craving for udon and it was right around the corner from the hostel I was staying at. So I decided to check it out. The house salad was really disappointing and the chicken udon soup was as well. The noodles were good...but the chicken and the broth was pretty gross. It's an inexpensive choice but almost not even worth the $5.

What the?? I'm not sure how the other yelpers can be so critical about this place! Rice Bowl is freakin awesome! I've ordered take-out here SEVERAL times in the last two month of discovering this place and I have absolutely no complaints! For the amount you pay, you get a really great portion. I usually order the general gao's chicken rice bowl almost everytime and it always comes out nice and cripsy and not over-battered. The stir fry udon noodles are delicious and as greasy as any other fast food Chinese take out place. The terriyaki chicken was a little boring but I only paid 5 bucks for it and it made me full. I decided to visit the actual location before ordering the sushi. I wanted to make sure that the place wasn't sketchy and dirty like Nan Ling. The restaurant itself is very clean and has a semi open kitchen and sushi "bar" next to the registers so you can see them make the sushi. My sushi was fine (I didn't get diarrhea or a stomach ache). Even my roommate can vouch for the food. He said that Rice Bowl's low mein was the first low mein he's had in a while that didn't give him the runs! Sure, this place is just your typical fast food Chinese restaurant, but this place does Chinese take out really well!

I'm impressed. We ordered delivery and were told it would take an hour because of so many people ordering due to a game going on. When we told them we couldn't wait that long and wanted to cancel, they told us we'd get the food in 45 min. Not only dd they deliver in 30 minutes, they sent a guy over on his BICYCLE so that we wouldn't have to wait for the delivery driver. WOW. Ok, I'll admit, not the best Chinese or Chinese American food I've ever had. Not even close. BUT, it is CHEAP and CONVENIENT and they have free delivery. I'll definitely order again.

I've finally found a place that will deliver to me that doesn't taste like pure garbage. Their General Gau's Chicken and fried rice was incredible in comparison to the deep fried feces I'd ever tried from at least six different Chinese places in the area. Granted their fried rice is not the style I prefer when ordering fried rice, but it was still excellent rice. I also got one of their smoothies and that was very good as well. Yes they charge $2 for delivery, and normally they'd lose a star because of that, but given my other options I'm willing to let it slide.

Went here for the first time. Since I live nearby for the summer, I'll definitely become a regular. The spicy tuna roll was pretty good. The rice seemed a bit stale, but I've had worse. I loooooove bubble tea. The strawberry was pretty good, but it was a bit grainy at the bottom. The pricing is reasonable and geared towards college students. The place itself is small, but it's awesome that they deliver for free. The employees were talking on their cellphones while customers were around, which shows that they really didn't care. But hey, I don't really care that much.

I felt that I couldn't believe that this restaurant could be that bad and with only two reviews, I felt that I could try it. I was very dissatisfied. The sushi was chewy and looked disgusting. The tea was crappy. The chicken (though it is not gizzards) is uninteresting, and the crab rangoons are lacking. The popcorn shrimp was more a shrimp tempura and it was so chewy and soggy. I would never order from here again.

I ordered general gau's chicken lunch special. It was cold and rubbery. With so many alternatives in the area (e.g. Teriyaki House right around the corner), I wouldn't bother going here again.

wow... maybe i have crap tastes but here is my take on rice bowl. i live down the street from this place, and have gone there pretty regularly since it first opened. i can't speak on the drinks or sushi, but the food i've gotten from there has been fantastic. this includes the rice noodles, pad thai, general gau, lo mein... and the turn around between ordering and getting your food is ridiculous fast. the people i've dealt with there are always relatively friendly, and the pricing is dirt cheap. i've recommended this place to friends and they've all echoed my feelings on their initial visit. compare this place to nan ling (an abysmal Chinese hole in the wall open until 3 AM) and its a no brainer for me. lighten up people!

A new front has been opened against the war against good taste in Boston. This little Asian place has a menu that is virtually indistinguishable from the Teriyaki House, which is just 2 steps in the other direction, and is pretty similar to Nan Ling around the block on Mass. Ave. You'd think that with extreme competition, these restaurants would try to step it up a little, but frankly there must be some sort of Sesame Chicken Cartel going on here, because all of them have decided to reduce their chicken to the lowest quality possible. They try to cover up chewy gizzard with some bread coating and orange sugar, passing it off as General Gau's "chicken." Chicken is uniform in texture, wielding gently to your teeth as you chew it, with an opaque white hue. I do not know what this translucent, gooey, and unyielding gelatinous glob is hiding inside the candy coated fried breading. The worst insult of all is that I actually had to pay good money, and in return I get discarded chicken parts. I have no doubt this place will be a wild success though, as the prices are cheap, and there is a never ending stream of students in the area happy to consume anything that is not ramen noodles.

if you're not asian and you're totally in to american-chinese i guess this is for you. i don't know one chinese person that likes eating here, including my EXTREMELY lazy chinese roommate who is willing to walk farther just to not eat here (we literally live less than a block away)

I thought it was great considering the price and what it was. I had the unagi brown rice bowl and thought it was delicious and satisfying. Plus, there was no delivery charge and they came in 15 minutes- can't beat that!

Thought I would try a new take out place last night and ordered some delivery from Rice Bowl. I got pork dumplings, spring rolls and the general gaus chicken rice bowl. Everything was pretty nasty. After eating it I could feel the MSG kicking in or maybe just placebo effect of gross food. I would never eat this shit again. Good luck

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
