You're buying 2 slices and coke for $5 what do you expect ?

Hole in the wall - you shouldn't expect anything other than takeout - but the pizza is decent and it's cheap, cheap, cheap. Good if you need a quick bite when in the area.

With 80 reviews there is a not a lot to add (full menu and cook times below), however Haymarket Pizza is a long time hidden gem, which we have enjoyed since they opened back in 1970. For the long timers who have been going there since the beginning, the tables and chairs are still a small miss matched mess, the empty pizza boxes are still stacked to the ceiling, and there still making some of the best pizza in the city! Haymarket Pizza is not about the fancy, it's about pizza, thin crust, sweet-spick sauce, always crispy, huge slices, are the perfect foil for whatever topping from the very menu below: Meat Topping Available: Pepperoni Beef Meatball Chicken Breast Cutlet Imported Ham Italian Sausage Veggie Topping Available: Broccoli White Onions Marinated Mushrooms Plum Tomatoes Eggplant Cutlet Marinated Peppers Black Olives Pineapple Chucks CASH ONLY $1.50 for a slice of cheese (2-3 minutes to heat-up) 2.00 for 1-Topping slice 2.50 for 2-Topping slice $ 8.00 Cheese pizza. (10-12 minutes) 10.00 1-Topping pizza 11.00 2-Topping pizza Do you veggie shopping on the weekend at the Haymarket market and sneak in for a couple of slices for Luch, or step away from Faunal Hall Marketplace and the dozens of standard fare for five minutes to grab a couple of the best slices in the city, no offense to Regina.

Okay, I know what I'm going to get when I visit Haymarket Pizza on my own behalf - the eggplant slice. Beautiful thick rounds of breaded eggplant... But this trip wasn't for me. Their prices make it easy for me to consider picking a slice or two, freshly warmed in their oven, for the hungry bellies of a couple of others. I eyed the prepared pies in the counter. The meatball and pepperoni both looked good, and since men seem to generally tend to eat more meat on their pizza then I, I figured, well, they could pick it off their slice if they don't like it. For take-out, the two slices were placed on two plates and tucked into a pizza box for me. I grabbed some napkins and off I went. Easy-peasy, and with good service to boot! Cash only! But with two single topping slices for a total of 4 Washingtons, most folks won't need to look for an ATM. *** Slice Pizza Cheese $1.50 1 Topping $2 2 Toppings $2.50 Large Pizza Cheese $8 1 Topping $10 2 Toppings $11

Excellent pizza and prices. What else can I say?! My wife and I have lunch, 2 BIG slices and drinks for $6.

I was walking around Haymarket doing my usual Friday fruit and vegetable shopping and was pretty hungry because I haven't eaten lunch. I walked by this place and decided to just get something fast. They had some pre made pizzas ready and I got the vegetable one with spinach and tomato. they reheated it for a bit in the oven and I topped it off with some chili peppers. There is ample seating in that place so you don't have to eat standing or outside. The pizza was ok... Crust was decent and the toppings were good. However, they didn't heat up my pizza all the way and parts of it was still cold. Ehhh. It was just something to hold me over till my next meal. Nothing too special and my pizza was a little over $3... not that cheap either.

Cheap and huge portions! I eat lunch here everytime I visit boston. The pizza range from $1-$3/slice depending on how many toppings. I recommend the pineapple ham (so good) and the tomato spinach. Of course all the other pizzas are delicious also. This isn't the type of restaurant/fast food place where you sit down at a nice quiet table and have a nice lunch. It's small and not that new but I don't really mind that when I can get a very tasty and satisfying meal for just $3. *tip- ask them to toast it, if they don't offer you already.

I mean from $1.50 to $2.50 max for a slice of delicious cheesy triangular dough of perfection? What is NOT TO LOVE? And trust me I have had all kinds of pizza authentic italian to cheap and easy and Haymarket delivers. You will not regret it unless your some a-hole who doesn't know what classic cheap american style pizza looks, tastes, or smells like. Or you think just because the guy behind the counter speaks ESPANOL that ohhh its not AUTHENTIC. Well REALITY CHECK FOR YOU BUDDY. Almost 60% of sushi bars and Japanese restaurants are NON-Japanese owned that would be the Chinese and Koreans serving out your CALI ROLL which is TOTS AUTHENTIC JAPANESE YO. Or what about all some of the BEST chefs out there cooking all different kinds of cuisine. Stop drinking the haterade and eat some PIZZA BRO. Anyways I will say that this place definitely has the potential to suck if... A) Come at the slowest part of the day and the turnover on their pizza blows. B) You have impossible life standards and are possibly bitter about everything that is life and pizza. C) You are not an American.

Best $2 slice in town; large portion with generous toppings. Disregard the outside; this beats the North End establishments.

You have to check this place out while in Boston. Cheap and crazy good pizza. This place does it right.

  • Rich M.

Good pizza place we stumbled near while walking through the farmers market. Good pizza by the Alice, good topping combinations. My wife got an onion, broccoli pepperoni. I got a broccoli mushroom chicken. Good grab and go pizza

A friend recommended this place to me and all in all it is ok. Haymart's pizza is priced well, however i have had better slices. I will say that the location is convenient. If you are looking for a quick and cheap bite $1-3 for a slice, this is the place to pick up and go.

Hit the spot family of 4 fed for 12 bucks. Walk across the street and enjoy it in the park.

  • Nikhil G.

For 2.50$ a slice, the pizza is quite good! I had the ham and pineapple (which they had already made, would have preferred fresh) , and a pepperoni piece. Bread and butter.

I don't live in the Boston area any more, but any time I did and was working downtown, I'd drop in on Haymarket on Fridays to load up on cheap veggies. Every time I did, I'd pop in here for my lunchtime pizza. A slice or two and I was all set! The price is just right, the pizza was always good (and thin, New York style, much more to my preference than those thick Greek-style pizzas), and there was a modest selection of toppings. The only thing preventing a 4-star from me was the dining area, which was sheets of red formica on sawhorses, with not-quite-enough stools scattered around. That didn't *bug* me, per se -- fastidious people ought not be patronizing Haymarket in the first place -- but it's not praiseworthy either. Still, if what you're after is a slice or two of inexpensive, good quality pizza for a bite-and-run, I don't think I've known a place I'd prefer for that than Haymarket Pizza.

Writing this review from almost next door... In town for an evening this week, I decided to get my pizza craving fixed by stopping in at Haymarket Pizza. I wanted to try this place when I was actually living in the area but never did. Now that I'm staying at the Millenium, I had no excuse despite the fact that the company would reimburse me for a much more expensive dinner. There were a couple of people standing around the pallets, crates, boxes, and tarp set up outside for the weekly farmer's market. I noticed a family of four eating pizza outside as well as a few others enjoying a beautiful New England early evening. When I walked in around 5:30 pm tonight, there was a gentleman sitting in the small dining area eating and another eating while standing up and talking with the pizza guy. The pizza guy greeted me, and I told him what I wanted: one slice of sausage and one slice of mushroom. As he slid the pieces in the oven to reheat, I grabbed a 20 oz. bottle of Crush. Dinner was $5.25! Cheese slices are a cool $1.50, one topping is $2, and two toppings is $2.50. Bottled drinks (soda and water) are $1.25 each. There is the option to purchase cans, but I am not sure for how much. After a few seconds, the guy handed me my pizza and said, "Here you go, baby." I took the slices and sprinkled some crushed red pepper on them and topped with some cheese. Pizza was good. Maybe the slices are huge. I couldn't finish my two slices, but the again, I had a late lunch and drank almost all of my orange soda. It wasn't the best, but it wasn't the worst either. The dining area had at least four variety of chairs, and there were a few different tables as well, varying in finish and height. I can see this place being super warm in the summer, but for an evening such as tonight, dining inside was fine.

  • Craig E.

Again, hole in the wall place. The pizza are usually pre-made, which wouldn't be a bad thing, except if I order a WHOLE pizza, why are you Re-heating a pre-made Whole pizza? I'd complain, but since I'm usually ducking meter hacks, as long as it's hot, I'm ok. Honestly, the north end is across the street. I could go to Regina's but I also could have an orange envelope under my wiper too. Cheese slices are $1.50 and toppings are $2.00. If you want GREAT pizza, Don't be an ass hole like me and go to the North End. If your driving a bus and parked near the Millennium, cheap, quick and not bad. (CASH ONLY)

Hay Market pizza is cheap, decent food that's quick authentically Boston. The price, the proximity to the RMV - it's a winner. May not be the healthiest meal around, but it's definitely a great deal and good food.

  • Brian D.

Okay, so this place isn't going to win any awards for their culinary expertise or pizza, but for $1.50 for a slice of Cheese in downtown Boston, this place is not actually bad at all. I usually try to avoid this area like the plague due to its proximity with all the nastiness that occurs Fri/Sat, but I stopped by here on a whim one afternoon for lunch. Coming away with a $3 lunch and two slices and all the unlimited sprinkle toppings my heart can put on a slice, I was pretty happy. These slices compare to other places like Halftime Pizza by the Garden, Nino's on Charles St in Beacon Hill, or NY Pizza either in the theater district or in the south end. These don't have the best pizza, but it fills the hunger void when you need it. But comparable to these other establishment, somehow Haymarket pizza can charge a buck-50, not $2.50-3 which is incredible. I'll definitely be back here as a cheap, quick lunch option going forward.

I'd rather not go down Hanover into Lil' Italy. Seriously, why? For a $1.50 you can get pretty much the best pizza for the price in Boston. I have yet to find a place that is as cheap or delicious as Haymarket Pizza. Let there be no confusion, in a blind taste test, I think this pizza would still finish somewhere in the top 90th percentile. Yes, its been sitting there for a while, pre-prepared, probably just heated slightly before they trade it off for some change. However, that doesn't change how good it was. Lots of cheese, sauce, and nice soft crust. Easy to fold and eat if you want to. Not sure what all the 3-star reviews are about. Yes, its not the highest quality ingredients, but what were you expecting for $1.50? They even have parmesan cheese, peppers, and oregano at a table nearby. A couple of the higher end pizza parlors in Boston don't even have parmesan. Get over it. Its going to be fun coming back here. Can't wait. In fact, I think I'm gonna go back right now.

Best Cheese Slice so far in Boston. No jokes. Oh yeah, and it's only $1.50. One dollar and fifty cents. Six quarters. Fifteen dimes. 150 pennies. It was so good that if it were $2.50 I'd still pay for it. The crust: soft, not overly chewy, and has just the right amount of elasticity. The sauce: not too acidic, not too sweet, well seasoned Seriously, it is unbeatable. Just because they don't put fancy ingredients like arugula or gorgonzola doesn't make it less great. It well deserves a 5-star rating. If you go to Haymarket for veggies and fruits on Fri/Sat, don't miss it! Give it a try. It might be your next Fri/Sat ritual.

I come to Haymarket as often as I can to get my fruits and veggies, and usually I stop here for lunch. I very rarely eat pizza and when I do I like it to be awesome - I am glad that this is such a great place to go to for an inexpensive but very good pizza. I love the eggplant pizza in particular. The owner and guys that work there are friendly too. :)

Totally unpretentious, delicious and very cheap New York style pizza. A great place to catch some warmth and the news on tv while you're fruit and vegi shopping.

  • James M.

Dont be fooled by the Dumpy plain look to this place cause eating at it will leave a better impression then its looks. Pizza was some of the best I have had outside of NYC. Place is exceptionally clean and the staff are great. Orders are filled quickly. Only thing is you have NO AC in the building so it can get a little hot sitting and eating.

  • Jules C.

I really like this place. The pizza is good, true you should ask them to heat it up 2 mins longer than they do, but pretty good pizza. Cheap, cash only, no frills, but sicilian and regular pizza with pretty good toppings, I'm just not sure what else can you ask for. Great place to grab food to go or eat quickly, it's a quasi hole in the wall place, but other than that, great.

  • boom b.

Really good pizza. The fact that slices and drinks are both cheap, just makes it all even better. Wish they stayed open later.

  • Jerom N.

Great pizza at great price! Much, much, much better than all North End pizzas all together! Good balance of flavor and texture.

    (5)
  • Jana C.

They sell slices, it's cheap, and for it, you get rather a flat, rather underwhelming experience. Then again, didn't order a slice that was particularly 'special' in its composition. TIP ALERT: I'll tell you the best part: that block across the street from it on Blackstone offers 2 free hours of parking. Score. FYI, Boston currently charges $1.25/hour on their parking meters. Charges cease after 8PM.

  • Cory B.

This is my family's absolute favorite place to get pizza in Boston. In fact, it's basically the only place we get pizza in Boston. Great service, wonderful food and low prices! It cannot get better than this. It doesn't have super fancy toppings, but you can get pepperoni, pineapple and bacon, fried eggplant, vegetable and even breaded chicken pizza. All of it tastes amazing and you don't have to pay a lot for it! The slices are also huge. We could eat pizza from there every night!

  • Mark W.

$1.50 for a slice and 50 cent toppings?! Pretty good pizza, refreshing prices for being so close to the tourist trap of Faneuil Hall... Sneak here for a quick, economical bite. Cash only.

  • Ryan C.

Not that good. Grabbed a slice last night on my way to the train. Way too doughy.

    (2)
  • Chris M.

I got a slice of pepperoni with thinly-sliced onions. The pizza is also seasoned with their herbs and spices. Pizza doesn't get much more Italian than this. It's next to Haymarket. Haymarket is crazy-busy. Be careful that you don't go into the wrong pizza shop. There's another pizza shop right next door. I'm not sure, but I think they might be closed on Sunday. It looks like they close pretty early in the evening too.

  • Fat G.

Fat G. waddling around the city, looking for new spots to grub on. After checking out Boston Greenfest, my friend told me there was a place around Haymarket that served cheap pizza. With both of us not wanting to kill our wallets and wanting to dispel this myth, we headed to Haymarket Pizza. It's located in the middle of Haymarket market stands. There's a bunch of things being sold, from meat and fish to fruits and vegetables. It reminds me of Hong Kong at dusk. I really don't know how to describe the place. It's pretty much an open area. On the right side of the pizza shop is the oven and the display case where the pizzas are, along with a case for buying sodas and other drinks. On the left is the seating area, which are stools and small, tall square tables. There is also an old TV along the wall, a vending machine for cans, and one of those machines you find in those ticket redemption places. (It has a iPod shuffle as a prize). I forgot the price of the 2 topping pizza, but for the 1 and 2, it is $1.50 and $2.00 respectively. These slices are huge - it's thinner crust, and about the size of a piece of paper. I ordered one slice of pepperoni and one slice of mushroom. The pepperoni pizza was very good. It had a good consistency of cheese - not too thin where it's all sauce/thin strands, and it wasn't too thick where it tasted like globs of fat. The meat tasted real. The slice was very hot, and it came right from the platter. The slice however was very greasy: I let my slice drip for about 15 seconds, and even then there was still a little left. The mushroom pizza was not so much. The mushroom didn't have much flavor, and although they put it in the oven to reheat it for us, it was still only warm at best. The environment is slightly uncomfortable. it's humid in the shop, tables were slightly dirty, and there were napkins everywhere, along with some stacks of pizza boxes in the eating area. It's a nice gem to find for food to eat in the Government Center area that isn't expensive or taxing on you. Also you can check out the local markets in the area too. Recommended for: cheap pizza, a spot to chill out, local ambiance.

Convenient. Cheap. Average. I was pretty hungry after walking the Freedom Trail all day, and since it was late afternoon, most restaurants were not open. By the time I laid eyes on Haymarket, I was beyond famished. The price was right; 1.75 per slice, and 1.25 for a bottle of iced tea. But, the pizza looks like it's been sitting there all day, just waiting to be ordered so it can be stuck in the over for a few minutes. Condiments are a-plenty, and were necessary to dress my pizza for some taste. The pie was thin but had a good amount of meat per slice, but it served its purpose: cheap filler until dinner. Had I known I was so close to the North and South Markets, I would have walked the extra 10 minutes and gotten something truly worthy.

  • Ro C.

This place gets a solid 3. They have pizza, it's relatively clean, the food tastes good, and they let me forgo fifty cents when I was digging around in my massive bag for a specialty slice. Really good people and generally great food and atmosphere.

    (3)
  • Bryan J.

Pizza by the slice. You're not going for quality when you walk in a place like this but your hungry will be satisfied. They have a variety of pizzas ready to go. Think "Im a tourist in town and Im hungry"

The best Pizza in the world!!!!! One of my 1st and last stops while in Boston

    (5)
  • Susan N.

My issue with pizza in Boston is the crust. No one seems to be able to get it just right. Thin, crunchy and no corn meal (WTF?). That's where Haymarket gets it right. Their pizza crust is one of the best I've tried up here. Unfortunately, that's where the goodness ends. For a true dairyaholic like me, it's all about the cheese. And the cheese was just ehh. Brings it down to around 3.5 stars. It wasn't gooey slops of goodness like melted pizza cheese should be. It just clumped up. But what brought it down even farther was the sauce. Or was that ketchup? It was way too sweet and non fresh tasting to be tomato sauce. Oh Haymarket Pizza, you have done the hard part - getting the crust just right. So why, oh why, can you not put more palatable products on top?

    (2)
  • Dan G.

The fact this little gem stands directly in the path of my commute home from work every day is incredibly dangerous in itself. How can you beat a big slice, with no wait, for a buck and change? Don't get me wrong, this is not the place you want to go for premium ingredients. You won't find whole wheat crust or a splash of pesto... this is about caloric intake on the go-- but they know it (and they price accordingly!) Perfect for what it is!

    (5)
  • Katharine T.

Here's the deal... Haymarket pizza is cheap cheap cheap pizza. The pizza is not bad, but not great, but I love it anyway. Their crust is perfect. The sauce is mediocre. The cheese is not great. My roommate and I stop here when we are vegetable shopping, and we can get lunch for $5. Not $5 each, $5 total. You can't beat that deal.

  • Isis H.

Just started working in the Financial District and all my co workers were raving about this place. How the price is amazing and the pizza's delicious. Despite the rest of the reviews I was slightly disappointed, I appreciate the hole in the wall pizza joint but I hate when pizza places have the slices laying around for hours. They simply ask, "Do you want it heated?" Of course I want my pizza heated! Silly question. The price is unbeatable but theres a reason why its so cheap...

Pizza is known throughout the universe as the single greatest food. It was the gods themselves that bestowed Boston with that foods best location: Haymarket Pizza. Just as Indiana Jones believed that the small, dusty, nondescript cup as the Holy Grail, wise people know not to judge this book by its cover. I've been coming here for about 15 years and I've still yet to find a better pie. Yes, it's cheap Yes, the place is filthy. Yes, there's no where to sit. Yes, the meat market next door is the reason for that hellacious odor. I want some now...

As I was walking through a Boston area farmers market I just happened to turn to the left and saw a sticker that caught my eye; it said "YELP LOVES US". I pointed it out to my companion who suddenly had a flashback of his childhood spent in that same farmers market, only behaving because he knew good behaviour would be rewarded with a slice a pizza from a great place. It turns out that Haymarket was that great place and we were standing right in front of it. Two slices and 2 dollars and fifty cents later I realized why yelp loves them and also that I would behave good, bad, or otherwise as a long as a slice of Haymarket pizza was the reward. The "crust, sauce, cheese" ratio, quality, texture, taste was unbelievably good for that price. In fact I wouldn't have scoffed at paying much more for that pizza, the price was just an added bonus. The guys at the shop couldn't have been friendlier, and even though I was stuffed to the point of illness, I couldn't have walked out the door any happier.

  • Cherie C.

On a crowded Saturday of produce shopping, I ducked in for a mushroom slice ($1.75). It was a decent slice of pizza. The guys at the counter move the line quickly. Not much else to add here. Grab a slice, stand around, eat it. You're on-the-go food needs are met. It's tastier than a lot of crap you could get otherwise.

    (3)
  • Lisa N.

Big slices of pizza, inexpensive price. Crust has a nice crunchy exterior. Inside, no tables, standing space so they can fit more people in. Wish I had a slice or two right now.

Cheap pizza but tastes awesome! They are not cheap about the ingredients, either. Good place to go!

Found this place on Yelp while in Boston looking for lunch after a duck tour. Pizza and brand name pop for four for $11.00. Yes, four pizza slices and four bottles of pop for $11.00. Yes, the pizza wasn't winning any awards and there is no real place to sit and yes there's no air conditioning, but did I mention it was $11.00? For that price, I was happy to pay $14.00 for dessert at Modern Pastry $11.00. Eleven dollars. Happy Kids.

I grew up on this stuff when it was "Al Capones" pizza..."You've tried all the rest, now try the best," and it WAS. Yes, 30 cents for a slice of cheese. You could barely eat two. And the "suits" would come down from State Street, fold the slice in half, tuck a napkin in their collar to protect their white shirts and silk ties, because the sauce and cheese were dripping over the edges. Went back for a family reunion to introduce my daughter to the legend. What a disappointment. Pizza was like cardboard. At about 11:30 AM they had about a dozen pizzas already cooked under the counter. You put in your order and they would warm it up for about 30 seconds. Yuk. Next time we go back to Boston, Mama Regina in the North End, here we come. Now I hope you still have the checked table cloths and chanti wine with oven baked fire toasted crust like I remember.

My family has been buying pizza here in my entire life. Quality of pizza is amazing. Whenever we're at Haymarket, we must always buy 2 to 3 boxes of pizza. Highly recommend.

One slice of cheese and a can of soda for a total of $2.25 = AWESOME! Quick service, decent pizza, and a price that can't be beat. Kind of a funky location behind Faneuil Hall and in the Haymarket. Grab your pizza to go and head for the Greenway.

While walking thru the craziness that was the farmers market in Haymarket Square on cool October Saturday... Tracey and I found Haymarket Pizza. Not hungry quite yet, we kept on exploring the area. A few hours later we walked back thru the madness to try out Haymarket Pizza. After all, they do have one of those red Yelp stickers in their window. As Tracey said, this wasn't the best pizza I have ever had, but for the money it was pretty good. Susan has an issue with the crust here, but my issue was the sauce. Yes, I know I'm from Texas. I have never had Boston Pizza before... but when there is enough sauce on my single slice of pizza to cover both the pizza AND a pound of spaghetti, I start to worry. The guy's (across from us the one who so nicely gave Tracey his chair)... manners made me want to gag. He picked up the pizza and let the gallon of sauce run off the pizza and then basically sopped up the toppings and sauce with pizza crust and his hands.

Umm.... boo. As much as I find it hard to give a dirt cheap pizza place a low rating (pizza is the best food ever! food of the gods!), I simply cannot raise this one bit. Why? Well, because the pizza sucks. The sauce tastes like ass, the cheese is frigging disgusting, and it is NEVER hot, not ever. I am too afraid to ask how long those slices have been sitting out, but assure you, it has been a loooong time. Sure, it's cheap, but c'mon, it's nasty!! I value my body a little bit too much to put this pizza in my mouth again. Oh, and the slices really aren't that big. They're like Sbarro sized. I don't know what everyone is freaking out about. Get your asses up to Ernesto's, they'll show you what a big slice looks like!

    (2)
  • Jenn B.

best pizza in Boston. you get a 1/4th of the pizza for $1.25. they have a sweet sauce and make all different kinds of pizza (eggplant{which sounds weird but its amazing!}, buffalo chicken, onions n peppers, etc). All the guys there are Italian and super nice. the seating is a little ghetto but its kind of apart of the charm with the brick walls, saw horse tables and even a MS PAC man video game. If they delivered to Quincy Id have them every friday night!

  • Jason O.

Honestly, this is the best pizza I've ever had in my life ever. I've been going here ever since I could remember... easily since I was 5 years old or so. The worst years of my life were the years when I lived away from here. Honestly. Go get slices. now. honestly.... go now.

This the go-to place for me and my co-workers to go for slices at lunch. Our nickname for it is "Stand Up Pizza" since seating is limited. When the weather is warm, head across the street to the park and share your crust with the sparrows. You don't come here for the atmosphere and thankfully, tourists probably would never even dream of eating here. They are missing great prices ($1.25 for cheese), prompt service, and thin crust pizza that rivals nearby Ernesto's. The tomato sauce has a touch of sweetness. Usually I just get cheese but today I lived it up and had one cheese slice and one sausage slice dressed up with some hot pepper from a shaker. Can you spell "H-e-a-v-e-n"? (apologies to the late Mr. Rogers) Fold up a slice or two and you will walk away secure in the knowledge that there are more famous name places to get pizza, but that you have found a "Hidden Gem"

Pepperoni and carmelized onion. Omigod! Heaven! I can only eat one, they are big slices. Not Little Stevies big, but hefty. Haymarket is a love/hate thing. I personally don't love trading verbal abuse with produce vendors, so being treated nicely by the counter staff is a welcome change.

Hidden Gem,, a great true Boston Pizza joint. The pizza is great and cheap. Some people might be turned of by it being in the middle of the working market. Me I like rubbing elbows with my fellow working class New Englanders. Miles ahead of the over hyped joints nearby.

Solid thin-crust pizza. Certainly not the best, but definitely nowhere near the worst. And cheap too! $1.75 for a one-topping slice. Not really a whole lot of room to sit there and if the farmers market is going on outside it could be a test of patience to get to the place. Definitely worth it though.

Well, I went for an adventure today! After enduring what seemed like endless number of stops from Washington Sq to Haymarket on the green line, I arrived this easily missed pizzeria off of Hanover St (before crossing the Mass Pike to North End). This could possibly be the best street pizza in Boston! The pizza was hot, crunchy, and big. Their variety included pepperoni, peppers, pepperoni and sausage, sausage, meatballs, and more. And the prices are awesome: $1 for cheese, $1.50 for one topping, $2 for two toppings. All bottled drinks are $1. There are red standing tables for you to eat in or out of the store, but why not take your meal along and enjoy the scenic waterfront or the Common? Definitely one of my new favorites for fast, cheap, and tasty lunch!

If you don't have the energy to walk over to Ernestos for pizza, and want a decent slice for cheap money, consider going to Haymarket Pizza. Decent Pizza - Cheap Price. Let's put it this way, I think I would spend more money if I went to Micky D's for lunch.

Today I went to haymarket to bug veggies and saw this pizza shop. Shop looks kind of downmarket. Price were so low, so I thought I should try. Pizza was not bad at all. I think this is good spot to grap slice of pizza once you tired or hungry after buying veggis in hay market.

Old ladies ramming me with grocery carts, snarling produce vendors and immobile tourists VS. a single slice of cheese pizza Who wins despite being plain and outnumbered? this gruff but lovable hole in the wall cheese pizza = $1.00, a dolla, a buck, a single smackeroo, 1/1000 of a G, I'm sure i could find MORE money lying around on the ground. Granted, this place and the pizza aren't fancy but sometimes you just need a piping slice o'cheese served on a paper plate by a cranky guy to make your day. On top of all this, the crust is plenty crunchy and chewy, the sauce is thin but tangy and the cheese is nice and greasy... Plus, I got to give up my stool to a nice elderly lady who couldn't really see but liked my alpaca hat so much that she made her husband buy the 'cute little lad' another slice of pizza...score!

if you want to spend waaaay to much money on a single slice of pizza in the north end, go for it. if you want a slice for $1.25 (you heard me correct...$1.25) that's pretty damn good, come here! it's right on the way to or from the north end and/or fanuiel hall so you can fill your tummy before doing touristy things, before, or after work. true, it's no reginas. but for the price...screw reginas! the pizza is damn good. good sauce, thin crust, and you can get a variety of toppings and drinks as well. i love coming here when i go to haymarket on fridays or saturdays. it's part of my routine. love this place. love it!

The pizza slices are not as big or cheap as they were 10 years ago, but still very yummy! Nice treat for lunch time. Limited seating inside. Good to check out when it's sunny and warm outside. I went on a mission today to see if this place was still around: mixcement.blogspot.com/2…

The pizza is okay. It is better than any pizza in the North End, but that isn't saying much. They have a few places to sit. They have a TV; I like to watch the news and eat my pizza. They have a video game machine; you can play Galaga or Miss Pacman. Again, it is better than that slop they serve in the North End. For Boston pizza, it is okay, but Boston isn't exactly known for its pizza.

Sadly...I must agree with another poster, when it was Al Capones Pizza, run by an"Off the boat"couple, who had this cool young guy with a Pompadour hairstyle,IT WAS THE BEST PIZZA EVER!!!! I was so dissapointed after bringing a friend, who I assured would have some of the best pizza she'd ever tasted, she liked it,but then again, she's no connoisseur as I am!Oh well...same thing happened to me at the No Name...Chowder was still great but fried seafood nowhere near what it used to be,I guess we can't always get what we want forever,by the way,I live on nantucket Island now,if ever here go to Pi Pizza, now my most favorite pizza!

Another place I absolutely love...and the quality should be evident by the number of men in suits that frequent this place for lunch, especially early in the week. How can you beat a slice of cheese pizza for a buck? Add a topping and you are still less than 2 bucks? Compare this to the slices found next door at Quincy Market....I mean $2.59 for a slice with toppings....I can get 2 cheese slices here for the same price. I am seriously addicted to their onion pizza, and try to sneak over for a slice whenever I am in Boston (much to the chagrin of my wife....now my secret is out as to why I am often late picking her up). The pizza is thin crust, and the decor is early American stand up and eat, with refrigerated cases of canned beverages as you walk in the door. But the emphasis...and only product served here is PIZZA,PIZZA, and more PIZZA...no sandwiches, subs, pasta or grilled chicken served here, just PIZZA and beverage, served on cheap white paper plates with cheap white napkins. You walk up to the counter, choose your slices from what could be 10 different offerings at any one time, turn to the right and choose your beverage...and pay the man. Service is fast, and everything is served up hot. This is not a nighttime place at all...usually closed up by 9....but on a Saturday afternoon with the pushcart market bustling around them, these people are selling hundreds of slice pies. Lots of folks stop by for a couple of slices while purchasing bagfuls of fruits and vegetables. Frankly, this place is a baaahhhhhgggiinn (insert Boston accent here). (photos posted as well)

I stop in here every Saturday for a slice and the quality is always great! For $2.00 you get a huge slice. If the slice you want is not hot, they pop it in the oven for you. As someone else said, they have at least four or five pies with various toppings to choose from, the eggplant is good, as is the chicken with onions and peppers. On Saturdays, the volume of business is pretty good, so the pizza is never rubbery or over done. The staff is friendly and the service is speedy. They have an area to sit inside and eat but there is limited space. I would urge you to stop here for the fresh pizza at great prices! The best part is the array of toppings they set out, oregano, red peppers, cheese, hot sauce, season salt.... yum.

I go to Haymarket almost every Saturday to do my shopping. Now, Haymarket itself is a different review.....but Haymarket Pizza is IMHO one of the top pizza joints in Boston. I love the ambience, I love the old garage looking location, I love that it's in Haymarket, and I love the Pizza.....just try to walk past this place without gettting a slice...it's impossible...the smells are ridiculous. Santarpios, Haymarket, original Regina, and maybe Upper Crust are my favorites.....go on Saturday during the busy time and see some REAL Boston culture. Somebody asked to buy my puppy for $100 there. That's Real Culture. Oh, Dragony is right, you will get plowed down by a 4' asian grandma and her 15 pushcarts.

Haymarket Pizza is thin crust, crispy and delicious. It hasn't changed in years. The sauce is flavorful, the toppings are fine and the ambiance hasn't changed in decades. After you have pushed through the crowds at Haymarket, managed not to lose your kids in the crowd, this pizza is a Boston tradition.

3 stars for the good value. A piece of cheese pizza for $1.50! All the drinks are $1 and any toppings to your slice are 50c each.. not too shabby! My favorites are the mushroom or pepperoni .. yumyumyum. I also enjoy the veggie (-: It helps me feel I am making a healthy choice. The people who work here are nice but like it if you know what you want and have your money handy.

I went here for lunch today after having not been in years. I forgot just how good there pizza is. They are the best, even better than the Upper Crust. The prices are so cheap for the pizza. A large cheese is only $6. Soda is just a dollar and it is a bottle, not a can. The inside is very old school. Don't expect to sit down, you stand up and eat here at makeshift tables surrounded by pizza boxes. The workers are friendly too. This place looks rough around the edges and scares away pretentious people, which is a good thing. I hope Haymarket Pizza never changes. If you work in downtown or are just visiting, I urge you to stop in and try their pizza.

this is just for the pizza itself. it used to be so cheesy and large pieces. but unfortunately, not anymore. but then it's also very cheap. the guys there were super friendly though.

Here's where to go if you want pizza downtown. The price is amazing (only a dollar a slice for cheese) and much hotter and more flavorful than Regina's at Faneuil Hall. Don't expect much attention, and you won't be staying long. Still, the atmosphere is great as the Haymarket is stuck in a lost time. Feels like a great lost find, though it is plenty popular with the lunch crowd in the know.

Haymarket pizza is what I think every "real" pizza place should be: great pizza, fair prices, and fast service. Having tried pizza from places all over New England and beyond, I have a soft spot in my heart (err...stomach?) for Haymarket pizza. You just can't be the awesome pizza (thin, resilient, and tasty crust pair with an awesome pizza sauce) at such a crazy price ($6 for a large cheese pizza?). Try all the toppings; they all rock.

Well, I realize that I'm late in writing this review, but I really just had to review it. Aimee and I just happened upon this place purely by fluke. We were walking around and ran across the farmer's market and this was one of the businesses that we saw while walking through the farmer's market. We actually saw it but weren't hungry at the time so we had to come back. The pizza was not the best I've ever eaten...but for the money, I enjoyed every second of it! Not to mention the fact that I had quite an experience there...they were short on places to sit and I didn't see another bar stool near where Aimee had sat down. I decided I would just stand up and eat my pizza since I didn't figure we'd be there too awful long anyway. I was quite shocked when a very nice (although quiet) man across the table from Aimee offered up his seat for me. In all honesty, I just didn't expect such gentlemenly behavior since it's so rare these days! Then, to top it off, I heard a noise that took me back a few years...it was an anniversary edition of Ms. Pacman! ;-) Overall, it was such a pleasant experience and even though it wasn't the best pizza I've ever eaten, the atmosphere definitely made up for part of it.

Our family found this place by accident when it was opened in the 70's/80's and at that time it didn't even have a sign. Since then we've brought friends and family from out of state, and even pizza snobs from New York agree they have an amazing slice. First off, a slice is a $1.25. A large pizza is $7. Toppings are a little extra. The green peppers are amazing, but the mushrooms are a little soft (I think they're canned.) This place is tiny, has no AC in the summer, and is basically random kitchen chairs around sawhorses to lean on. Doesn't matter. This pizza is like sex, and I've pledged that my last meal will come from Haymarket. The sauce is sweet, the crust chewy and pliable, and they have a large counter of garlic/pepper/tabasco/salt/parmesan/hot pepper flakes that you can put on your slice how you like. They have an old Ms. Pac Man game in the back and an old soda machine for $1 cans of soda (bottles are at the front.) Cozy and amazing. If you want high end fare go somewhere else. You want to buy pizza for the whole family or after a night of drinking with the last few dollars in your wallet, come here. The same guys have been working there since I was a kid and I hope this place never closes.

i'm all for cheap eats ($1.25 for a slice of cheese, i believe $1.75 for one topping, and $7 for a large whole pizza[??!!]), but our pizza slices were on the cold side and the sauce was sweet which is something i wasn't a fan of (whether that was because i really didn't enjoy it or because i'm not accustomed to it is another story.) it seemed like the crust was a bit thicker than the usual thin crust, the size of the slice is roughly 1/8 of a full pizza. their choices of toppings looked pretty good -- i got the mushroom, my friend got pepperoni+sausage and a meatball -- and there were a bunch of other options too. i'll probably go back and give it a second shot, but if i had to spend time getting super cheap pizza i'd opt for rico's.

totally underwhelming in light of the hype about this place. very disappointing, this pizza is mediocre at best. yes it is cheap. but come on pizza isn't particularly expensive to begin with so is that really that important? we are talking taste here and this is really not that great. on top of that this restaurant is very dirty, not exactly an appetizing environment, even for takeout! the cheese and flavor of the sauce were somewhat different than generic pizza, but i didn't find them more enjoyable just for being a little different. i'd take pizzeria regina ANY DAY over this place. just walk over to quincy market....
