I would say that this place is decent. I go here every week on account of its proximity to my apartment and one vegetarian italian sandwich that I love. If you can stand a sandwich devoid of meat then you should definitely try out the one which has basil, cheese, tomato, balsamic vinaigrette ('SA8' - serial number to avoid confusion). Apart from that the lemon chicken soup is simple and refreshing. You could always have a frozen yogurt to follow the meal since they have some good flavors.

What a waste of $25. The pizza sucked, the frappe seemed to have wood shavings in it and the cookies taste like they're a month old. A weak effort in such a prime location...

I dont really like their salads, but the chicken salad sandwhich on french bread! Amazing!!! They have dill flavoring in it so if you dont like dill then pass this review!!

I really love that these guys deliver so late. Their lemon chicken rice soup is amazing! It'll definitely be my go-to soup this winter. I also really enjoy their smoothies. The smoothies are filling as well as delicious. I'd recommend getting food to go or by delivery since the cafe itself is kind of small and gets hot during the daytime.

Made us wait 2.5 hrs for food for delivery. We ordered at 9:30 and it came at midnight. We are college students that are located less than a mile away. How could that happen? Do not go here.

They have a big menu with several options, everything from froyo and milkshakes, pasta and pizza to salads and paninis. I got the spinach salad with avocado and my boyfriend got the pasta with meat sauce. The salad was a pretty big for the price, which I was happy about. The avocado was too ripe to eat in my opinion, and could have been much softer. The pasta and meatballs were really good and covered with baked cheese on top, but could have used more sauce. Overall, a pretty good place for relatively low expense.

I am only speaking for the frozen yogurt at this place, which is the non-self-serve in Boston. Tons of yogurt flavors and toppings which get blended in well with the frozen yogurt. Plus, you pay a fixed price (~$6) for the huge amount of frozen yogurt you receive. Come here and come here often for frozen yogurt!

Do not order from this place!! Two times is less than a month there were huge pieces of hair in my food. When I called to report this the person answering the phone argued with me and kept saying "there are no girls working here only guys in the kitchen". Wrong answer!!! That just shows this place is dirty and I will never order from them again, and you shouldn't either!!!

The yogurts and tofu-base with mix-ins are terrific. Dealing with the man at the counter... not so much. He could not have been ruder today- when I was the only customer at the counter, asked him a (simple) question twice - and he totally ignored me. I finally asked "Sir, did you hear me?" And he barked back at me "what do you want?" Without answering my question. Just rude, unprofessional and left me with a bad taste for this neighborhood spot.

Ordered delivery from here tonight - it arrived 20 minutes later but missing the salad dressing. I called back and they apologized profusely and said they would send it right over. Just a few minutes later, it arrived, delivered by a different person (sounded like the guy that answered the phone at the cafe just jumped in his car to drive it right over). Very good service. As for the food, their ranch dressing is killer! The meatballs in the Italian wedding soup were also delicious and my friend loved her sandwich. I will definitely be ordering from here again. Wonderful customer service and good cafe-style food.

I'm not sure about the questionable-looking food here (that pizza looks scary), but based on just the frozen yogurt here, this is one of my favorite places ever. They have one of those way too rarely seen machines that mixes in any toppings into a yogurt base to create a smoothly-blended, amazingly delicious and satisfying treat. You start by picking either Chocolate, Vanilla, Sugar Free or Tofu as the base, and then you can really go nuts with as many toppings as you want, including practically anything you can possibly think of. I always go with a sugar free base since I add enough items and sugary stuff to induce a cavity on the spot. So they cut off a piece of frozen yogurt from a long, weird tube of the stuff, throw it in the machine, and then start piling on the toppings. Peanut Butter is definitely a staple, and then I like to add on a number of different candy bars and/or cookies. Oreo and Cookie Dough along with Peanut Butter made for an amazing combo last time I was here. Heath Bar is also good option to get some nice crunch. Another amazing thing about this place is how insanely huge the cup of yogurt is for such a low price ($3.50 for the base plus some change for each topping). Seriously, they give you way too much yogurt. It is usually spilling over the top of the cup. I never have any problem finishing it all though since it's so incredibly good. This seems to be a popular late night spot for annoying BU students, or for girls who convince themselves they're healthy by eating frozen yogurt, even though you get a huge tub of it here with tons of toppings added. Forget J.P. Licks or any other nearby yogurt places, this is the best frozen dessert in town. Every time I visit Boston I make sure to get some dessert here at least once a day.

They delivered an hour after they were supposed to. When I called to ask when it would arrive, the person answering the phone was rude and dismissive, telling me that who knows when the food would arrive, because they're busy. When it did finally get to me, soup was cold, and sandwich was soggy.

This review is only about the frozen yogurt, which I did not get delivered (reviews here say to never get delivery from here). This was my first time here and I was very pleased with my froyo that tasted like ice cream. I ordered a vanilla frozen yogurt with cinnamon and gummi bears on top. I thought it was a lot of yogurt at first (only one size), but I finished it in one sitting and I am NOT ashamed. It was really good. As expected with many gummies and ice cream combos, my gummi bears hardened as it mixed in with the yogurt. I can't wait to go back for the froyo.

This place is VERY good. Great place for that late night craving, and deserves the 5 stars for the place that they are. The paninis are good-- GOOD. I tend to order these because the bread they use is really tasty. The frozen yogurt is also great, they have many different flavors, and the portion is good for the price! I would go here over and over again. I have been here for about 2 years now, and they have been consistently good. I would definitely recommend this place for some good eats.

Never get delivery. The food is passable, but the soup is awful - stay away from the lemon chicken soup, could barely swallow a mouthful because it had a weird odor, pretty foul. The salads have been OK, have been ordering from here over the last several months and their salads are better than most places around here, but the chicken is so dry and salty that I almost choked when I tried eating it. And WICKED rude. It took two hours to deliver, and we called after 1.5 hours to ask where the food was and the person over the phone nearly bit my coworker's head off - and she is the sweetest, most soft spoken human being I have ever met, so that's what pushed me over the edge. It seems like they have one poor guy doing deliveries all over the city, so I'm not blaming the driver - but having the manager be nasty to people when they call to find out where their food is at... that's BS. Never again. Food desert or not, I'd rather starve update - my coworker called to cancel after two and a half hours and he told her he WOULD NOT REFUND HER MONEY. Wow - what a crook.

Back when this was Ankara's and they DELIVERED ice cream until 3am, my friends and I would order from here all the time to our dorms. I was sad to learn Ankara's had burned down, but glad to hear the same owners opened Cafe 472. It seems generally the same quality, but I think they don't deliver any more. You choose your flavors, and they mix it into either a vanilla, sugar free, or chocolate froyo base: yelp.com/biz_photos/cafe… There only seems to be one size, EXTRA LARGE, and since they mix it all in one machine, you get a little bit of the previous order's froyo at the bottom of your bowl =). Cost was about $6. With the small sofa and tables, it was a nice respite from the snowstorm that was going on outside. Everyone else got some fruit combination, which were all good, but I thought my combo was the winner: * Pumpkin pie/Ginger - 4 stars pic: yelp.com/biz_photos/cafe… This had a slightly grainy texture and the flavors were very genuine - after eating more and more, it actually started tasting a bit spicy from the ginger! Plus it was huge. I was inspired by the pumpkin ginger cheesecakes my dad makes, and true to my previous experience, this combination worked out great.

I have been putting this off hoping they would just get better at their jobs. The slow delivery I can handle once you know a place is slow you can work around it. And the food is fantastic, but tonight marks my fifth order that they have messed up. I order online every single time which I would think would make it easier to get it right because there's no way to mess up writing it down or hearing it correctly. But I honestly think this just comes down to laziness. They send chicken pieces instead of salad, then salad instead of pieces. Rolls when its supposed to be pitas. They don't cook sandwiches that are supposed to be paninis. But what really chaps my ass is when they mix in toppings to my froyo that I want on top. I know it seems small but it's so sad to get froyo with toppings you wanted to enjoy one at a time pummeled into the dairy product instead. And the other orders suck too. I order chicken salad so I can take half for lunch the next day and it just doesn't keep the same way, and also I'm paying money and I just want to get what I want.

Took 15 minutes to get a sandwich with no one in line. When it came out it was the wrong thing. Food was ok once it came out.

0 stars. Horrible customer service. Incorrect menu. I ordered a pizza from their menu to be delivered. The pizza I ordered was advertised as having "thin sliced red potatoes". What I received instead was a pizza with french fries all over it. I called to ask if they could send me the correct pizza and the response was "We never use those potatoes. We put french fries on every pizza and no one else complains. Also we have no plans of changing the menu to reflect this. I'll just come take the pizza back and give you your money back." On top of this, the delivery driver called from the street and made me meet him at his car instead of doing what delivery drivers are paid to do which is come up to your door and knock. Worst service ever, will never order from this crap shack again.

  • Robert K.

Never had a problem with this place! Quick delivery - friendly - food is top-notch! Even the froyo shows up cold! Yes, delivery has taken a long time in the past but nothing shocking. I will keep ordering from them!

I've lived in 466 Commonwealth for a year and just discovered this place. This review is for the Frozen Yogurt only. The food is 3 stars, but the Frozen Yogurt is among the best I've had. Rich, creamy and an unbelievable toppings selection. You need to get blend ins to really know what I'm talking about. Personal favorite is chocolate base with Reese's and Peanut Butter blended in. Puts Pinkberry and 16 Handles to shame, seriously.

0 STARS. This place has the WORST customer service you could possibly think of. I ordered a large lunch order for delivery, which said it would take an hour and a half. No big deal... then 2 hours go by, so I call them to see how much longer for the order, and the man who answered responded angrily, YELLING at me saying he 'doesn't care how long it takes', and then hung up on me. Obviously I called right back, and asked fo the manger. The same man from before answered and said he was the manager. I asked if there was some sort of problem, or if he had me confused with another order, and he said it would take another hour to be delivered. I repeated to him, "it takes 2 and a half hours to deliver an order?", he then proceeded to yell at me, and said he was calling the delivery driver and CANCELLING MY ORDER. I wish I was kidding. I was polite, and trying to be understanding, but his attitude and tone was disgusting. As a manager of a restaurant, I am blown away with how inappropriate and unprofessional he was. Neither myself, nor the other 10 hungry workers who were waiting forever to eat, will EVER order from here AGAIN. That's a promise.

For a sub shop/sandwich shop this place is above average. The breads they use are good, and the ingredients are fresh. Where this place loses points is the service. It routinely takes 2 hours for delivery.

  • Perla F.

Food is OK but I would try looking for another place to eat if you're in the area.. Decided to give this place a second try so I called to place an order. The guy who picked up was extremely rude and when I asked what was on a specific sandwich, muffled "omg" under his breath.. Food isn't worth it to have to deal with this kind of customer service.

My roommate and I ordered just two salads and a side order of fries -- took almost 2 HOURS for them to deliver our order, and we live half a mile away from Cafe 472. The fries were cold and soggy, and my salad was subpar -- pretty much a box of iceberg lettuce and a chunk of dry chicken thrown in there. The delivery man was rude too -- when he finally showed up, I asked if there was any discount or policy for deliveries that take this long to deliver, and he yelled at me, pointed to the sky, and said I "was asking the stars" if I think I can get any money back. Whatever that means. Horrible service, poor food, do not order from here.

Other than the delivery being 30 minutes late, the food was really good. I got the grilled chicken sandwich with avacado, bacon lettuce it was very good. Chicken cook just right, all the flavors blended together just right. The baked fries ere good but cold due to the delivery being late. Overall food quality great, delivery service, not so much.

I live less than a half mile away from Cafe 472. I usually stop and get a salad or froyo (serving size is huge and I recommend both). Their sandwiches are gross and I found a long black hair in it once...after I ate half the sandwich! They're rude, throwing money on the counter instead of putting it in my hand. Their wait for food varies. I've gotten it as fast as 5 minutes or sometimes there's 15 people waiting inside for their food. OH! One time I saw one of the cooks grab a few fries from a batch (another cook was holding) that was going to a customer. They just looked at me and smiled. Bleh!

Huge menu, huge portions (except the sandwiches, which seem fairly normal), great food, grumpy service. This place is among the first I consider for salads/sammies in Fenway thanks to the huge portions of great food. It's a bit expensive for what it is (think $7-8 salads), but the portions definitely give you your money's worth. I bought a salad today (the #2, it was delicious) for lunch and had the leftovers for dinner. $7-8 for two meals is pretty thrifty. The wheat roll it came with was practically a meal in itself. Beware: counter folk aren't the friendliest bunch around and may not know that smiling improves mental health, but meh, it doesn't really bother me. The cafe seating is quite tight. Go for the outdoor patio in nice weather. I would be a regular at this place if it were in my neighborhood.

This is honestly a great place to get takeout or delivery. Everything that I have ordered has been delicious and filling and is very fresh. The wraps are massive and very yummy, the salads are better than most restaurants and very reasonably priced. I have never ordered anything there that I didn't like. And once when I was sick they made a dish to suit my needs during a stomach bug. Nice people and a great place to eat. I recommend the calzones, salads, and wraps.

Post bowling, I was famished. I wanted second dinner but frozen yogurt was a worthy alternative. The place is small but cozy, with a couple couches available for post food coma lounging. They have tofu based frozen yogurt! My favorite haha because it makes me feel slightly healthier after consumption...anyways, you pick a flavor of froyo( vanilla, chocolate, TOFU GET THE TOFU) and then choose any toppings you want to be blended in (fruit, candy, etc.) and then any super toppings to go on top of the yogurt (syrup, mochi, etc.). There's a gazillion combinations but I think tofu + any random assortment of fruit is the way to go, trust me on this. Also, the servings are HUGE. They're larger than the pasta dishes there, I swear. Even I was struggling to finish the whole thing. If you get froyo to go or some syrup on top of it, it will severely reduce the size of your froyo so be careful. There's only one froyo machine so I see how it can take a while to get your order if there's a huge line but luckily, when I went, it was pouring and wintertime, so there wasn't a crowd. I really like this place and while it's not the typical Pinkberry-esque froyo store, it will satisfy all your froyo cravings TEEHEE

  • Frank B.

There's not much to say about thins place that is positive besides their location. The pizza is sub par and the ingredients used for it are cheap and the quality is garbage. Jp licks is way better than this place and I would be willing to spend the extra time there just to eat some amazing dessert. The staff was rude and not welcoming, we also tried delivery which was also a huge mistake. Just overall a horrible experience and I wouldn't recommend even thinking about this place.

  • Keiko E.

Okay so the reason I give this place two stars is because the man who works there with the glasses is SO RUDE. I've never experienced someone so blatantly disrespectful and unhelpful in person and over the phone. His whole demeanor sucks. On one occasion in particular I was waiting to pick up my food and had been waiting 15 mins before he even acknowledged me. By that time I already knew the deal with this man but then I get up to pay and I'm standing at the counter right infront of him and he ignores me and takes two other customers that walked in after the fact that I was standing there. It wasn't until I asked someone else for help that I got my food. BUT the rest of the staff is very very kind and helpful and really has the please every customer attitude. Some of the workers even know my order as I walk in the door! They are a family based resturant with a wicked menu, and as far as the food it is amazing and fresh!

To be fair, I only get one thing here: the NU sandwich, and only when I'm working a night shift at the hospital. It's basically a Reuben, with delectable pastrami layered on top of juicy roast beef, covered in Swiss cheese, coleslaw and thousand island dressing on my choice of many breads. It's AMAZING! But again, this is from the perspective of a famished maniac at 1am. Haven't had their froyo, don't know why anyone bothers getting froyo delivered anyway; there's a place on every corner people. You could probably use the walk anyway, America!

  • Waffle A.

Delicious sandwiches and large portions for the win. Their froyo is also good and you can add in a variety of flavors and toppings. One cup of froyo is almost too much to finish on your own. Also, They deliver to my apartment on the Fenway. Keep doin you 472!

    (4)
  • Sanya K.

Been here way too many times to count! The food is mediocre but that's not really why you come anyway. The froyo is amazing! They do it the same way Angora does but they do it MUCH better. There are more toppings to choose from and it's just better overall. My favorite is mixing the vanilla with raspberries/blueberries and granola- it's amazing and you can trick yourself into thinking it's good for you! Also, can't go wrong with the High Fiber smoothie. It's super filling and huge! I get it every time.

My go to place for ordering late night froyo. Yes, froyo delivery please. Now that I live too far away for free delivery, I'm going through withdrawal. Amazing froyo -- huge portion for your money and it tastes like ice cream because the ingredients are all mixed in by this glorious machine. I know a lot of people that would just eat half and freeze the rest for later...I tried dong that but it was unsuccessful. I also used to always make my own salad -- it would last me 3 meals!! They give you tons of chicken and it's good chicken. This place is amazing, you get so much food for your money and it is always great quality. Love Cafe 472!!!!

  • Megan B.

I have been here twice now and finally decided I shouldn't come back. The food is over-priced, not that great, and the service is terrible. I ordered one of their salads, brought it home, and soon realized there was no avocado. I don't feel like I should need to check every ingredient in my salad before taking it home, but apprently you have to here. Personally, I think the avocado is the most important (and expensive) part of this $10 average salad so I was pretty annoyed. They do give you a massive container of hummus if you order it as a side order, but this is the only positive thing I can say about this place. Decision: Not coming back

  • Will B.

On the positive side, the pizza (specifically BBQ chicken, as I haven't tried most other varieties yet), baked fries, and tuna melts are all delicious. I've read other reviews that describe the pizza as greasy but I didn't find this at all. This place also provides very large portions for the $. Also, I've read some iffy things about their delivery service. I wouldn't say the delivery guys are the friendliest guys in the world, but I don't order for great conversation. What I appreciate is that they always come directly to my door and I've never waited more than an hour (and sometimes more like 30-40 min during the day). I've also never had an order screwed up while using the GrubHub app. Lastly, the frozen yogurt is gigantic. While it's pretty tasty, I've always found it to be overly sweet (though that's probably largely due to my topping choices, so hard to fault them). On the negative side, my experiences with the sandwiches, paninis, and melts (with the exception of the tuna melt) has been pretty eh. Not to say that it's not worth the money, but I think the pizza is substantially better.

I ordered Cafe 472 as a late night snack to feed some hungry high school students and was extremely disappointed. The driver was from grub hub and smelled like he had not showered in days. Additionally, I wrote EXPLICITLY that this order was tax exempt, complete with the tax exempt number, but Cafe 472 and/or grubHub did not make that adjustment (there is not a way to do that adjustment when placing the initial order online). Worst of all, when the froyo finally arrived, it was nearly melted! The toppings were subpar as was the yogurt itself. Needless to say, I am thoroughly upset with this service and experience and I will certainly never order delivery from, let alone visit, Cafe 472 again.

Tofu frozen yogurt? Still don't know how I feel about it... At first I really couldn't tell the difference but afterward there started to be an awfully weird aftertaste. I wish they would allow you to pick different sizes as opposed to just one standard $3.50 size. What I enjoyed most was watching the dude work the machine. He'd cut up a large tube of frozen tofu and smash it into the churning machine, run it through twice with fillings and out would come the tofu frozen yogurt concoction. Glad I got to try, but hopefully not again haha

This place gets 1 star because the cleanliness is horrible. I ordered a smoothie and a wrap. The girl that made the smoothie also worked at the front counter so she answers the phone, uses the computer and handles taking money. I paid with cash and after giving me my change she went to go make the smoothie. She cut up fruit and handled the fruit with her bare hands. She did not wash them or put on gloves. Things were even more disgusting with the guys that make the food. The guy that made my wrap also had on no gloves and made my wrap placing the ingredients in with his bare hands. God only knows how much stuff he touches without washing his hands. HORRIBLE!

Let me preface this with the fact that I have never once gotten angry enough to write a review after a bad dining experience. Cafe 472 has average food, but VERY good froyo. Unfortunately, the customer service is possibly one of the worst I have encountered. This evening, a few friends and I decided to online order froyo at 11. Once we entered our choices into the online website (the interphase was abhorrent, but I can overlook that) we figured out how to order what we wanted and proceeded to do so. Once we completed our online order, we were waiting with anticipation for our dessert to arrive! ....2 hours later, at 1 am, they had yet to arrive. We called, and they explained that it would arrive in 10 minutes. 15 minutes later, we called again and they explained that someone had just left. FINALLY it arrived 2 and a 1/2 hours after we had filled in our online order. Once the delivery man arrived, he did not have more than a dollar in change to give us. We ended up paying 20% more, AFTER tip. What a joke. THEN TO TOP IT OFF, half of our order DIDN'T HAVE TOPPINGS that were ordered (pun intended). They completely screwed up half of our orders, and the other half were given an insufficient amount of ice cream. Every step of this process tonight showcased incompetence on Cafe 472's part. Not only did we wait over 2 hours for ice cream, we were ripped off, and paid an exorbitant amount of money for a grossly incorrect order.

This place is family owned, and they really care about the quality of the food. The frozen yogurt is the best, my fav: vanilla base + grape nuts mixed in and maybe m&ms on top. The other good one is vanilla base + chocolate chips or mint chocolate mixed in... Keep it simple on the mix ins. They have really good pizza, huge sandwiches, they are open late and have free delivery!

Ordered from here with a new debit card a few days ago. Have not used my debit card at all since then. Woke up today with over $1600 worth of fraudulent transactions posted to my bank account. Possibly coincidence. Still worth a warning to you Yelpers out there. I don't feel nearly as bad now saying that the avocado and brie roll-up I ordered was soggy and bland. Not worth the $7 I thought I was paying for a sandwich - DEFINITELY not worth $1600+ in stress and card fraud. Only giving one star because I can't figure out how to give zero. Lesson learned.

Great selection of sandwiches, pizzas, and yogurt! It's not super fast or the best in the world--except for maybe the frozen yogurt--but it's a good place to sit with a friend.

I'm really torn about Cafe Numbers, as we call it at my work. Their food is consistently pretty good and I find their produce to be nice and fresh. I especially enjoy their bread; particularly the rolls that come with their soup. The problem I regularly have is with their delivery as well as communication. They often take longer than the time quoted to deliver, but I've have a few instances where they took AN HOUR longer than the time quoted. Neither of these times was I ever contacted about a delay and when I called to check on the status, they were very nonchalant and unapologetic. Frustrating to say the least.

The online ordering is a joke!!! It took over 2hrs to recieve my delivery and when I called the location to inquire on the time of delivery, whomever answered was rather RUDE and stated they were not in charge of the online service but yet knew what address I ordered from. After the call it still took another 30 mins to get to me!! RIDICULOUS!! Good thing I only ordered a salad!!!

The yogurt is phenomenal, the food is decent, and the service is lacking. For what you pay you really shouldn't expect much and if you expect little you won't be disappointed. Surprisingly there are not a ton of options for quick and easy take-out in the area so cafe 472 does a great business. The 3 stars stem mostly from the bad service (orders screwed up and long wait times) and less about the food which is mostly pretty decent. Be aware going in that you might be left wanting better service and you will be able to focus on the value and leave feeling like you got what you paid for.

Received a call from Food delivery guy... Sunday afternoon pouring outside... Delivery guy: (calls me) hey delivery is here. Me: Oh, i'll be right down. Me: (call him) hey where are you I'm downstairs I don't see you. (It's been 5 minutes now.) Delivery guy: Oh i'm at the building right next to your apartment. COME over here to get it. (remember it's pouring outside) Me: .... (need i say more)? You're the delivery guy dude.. do your job you fucking asshole. Hey manager or boss of the restaurant I suggest you to fire your delivery guy. He's making you lose business and with that said never ordering from your shit restaurant again.

Found on grubhub.. Came super fast.. Got lemon chicken soup and half a chicken sandwich both delicious! Friend got a kabob wrap... Asked for no onions and had onions in it... After picking them all out she said it was also delicious. Looking forward to trying the froyo! Thank you :-)

I placed an online order via their website, received e-mail confirmation, and called when the food had not arrived after 2 hours. They rudely told me that I hadn't placed an order and hung up on me. I called back to ask them to reverse the charge to my credit card and was told they couldn't do this because another company handles their credit card transactions. I asked how to contact this company and was told they don't give that information out. I asked to speak to a manager, was told "no" and they again hung up on me. I've been charged for food I never received and am now having to contest the charges through my bank.

Waited over an hour after ordering a sandwich and salad before calling back to check on our order only to find it had not yet left for delivery. When I asked that our order be canceled because we were not told it would more than an hour wait for a meal that involved no cooking the owner was rude and told me not to ever call back again because I waste his "time and food." No problem there jerks! He also proclaimed that their orders always take more than an hour without seeming to understand that is a long time for crappy delivery food. This is definitely the place to call if you want rude service and a long wait for what has been described as "meh" level food. Negative 2 stars.

I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS PLACE OR RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE. I went a couple months ago for fro-yo. Not only is it over-priced and only one size, but at teh bottom of my cup, I found a huge piece of plastic wrap (the packaging that the vanilla base fro-yo comes from). When I told the girl at the counter, I expected her to give me my money back or a $5 gift card or SOMETHING and she just said "oh. um. sorry." SERIOUSLY? You can't survive with that type of service when there are 5 more fro-yo places within a half mile radius.

Sad to say after reading good reviews but waited over an hour for my delivery and food is cold and this is the second time. As I reheat in my oven and write this I want to express my ungratitude to the delivery driver who made me come outside due to no parking... This is his job and I ordered through grub hub with a 20% gratuity, never again! sorry Cafe 472.

Hands down the best salads and wraps anywhere!!! Great fresh salad selection everything from Greek to sliced pear with pecans, blue cheese and cranberries. So many creative combinations. Portions are generous and quality is outstanding.i And then when you factor in the reasonable prices, I could go there every night. froyo great too!!

the food isn't anything to write home about since it's pretty run-of-the-mill. so why the four stars? this place has gigantic portions for EVERYTHING. hearts of palm salad, falafel roll-up, a calzone twice the size of my face, smoothies, froyo... and they all come under $10 each. on top of that, they have plenty of vegetarian options. win win win. i haven't come across with problems in the service like other reviewers since i haven't asked them to deliver my food, so i'll definitely be coming back often!

This review is ONLY about the froyo. So, I was intrigued that they had a tofu-based froyo, and I tried out the peanut butter flavored tofu-base, mixed in with some brownies. Overall, the consistency was light and pleasant. However, the taste was overly sweet, like artificial sweetener, and I found myself getting sick of it after a few bites. They only offer one size for the froyo, and it's probably bigger than most other froyo place's large size. Sadly, I ate less than half because I got tired of the sickly sweet flavoring.

It's cheap, and they have a low delivery minimum, so you can't argue with the convenience. But it's not great. The food I ordered was mediocre. Not terrible, just... blah. I'll be trying other places before I order from them again.

Delicious food! So many options and super fresh! Yes, delivery is about an hour. Service is a few minutes, but this is NOT Mc Fast food. THis is fresh, made to order with good ingrediants. The baked fries are amazing, the Frozen Yogurt is amazing and huge! My favorite sandwich is roasted beets with goat cheese, carmelized onions etc...Where else can you get that around Kenmore Square? Really nice folks behind the counter as well.

Best frozen yogurt ever! I have been coming here since it was Ankara's. The frozen yogurt comes in a large quantity at a low price, and there are dozens of flavors to choose from. The meals are mediocre, if not subpar. The grilled chicken panini didn't really taste good except for one out of five times I've had it, and the sandwiches are somewhat greasy. As far as customer service, one of the employees can get very rude and irritable on the phone when customers are inside. Personally, I've never had an experience with this, but beware that you "were wrong" if you call to report that an order was incorrectly filled.

I really this place, but it does take awhile for them to make your food. I typically order for pick up through foodler, and it's always ready when I show up twenty minutes later. I haven't been able to get into their paninis, but add chicken to any salad, have them make it a wrap, and you're golden. I like that they offer more than just your typically hamburger, pizza, meatball sub, that everyone single other mom and pop place sells in Boston. Most people here complained about service, but I order online because I'm not a caveman. Seriously, the phone? Using your voice to place orders? Why not just write them a letter with your order on it? Dear Cafe 472, I'm an idiot. Also I want baked fries. -- 80 Year old Mc 80 Year old Did I mention you can get gummi bears AND rainbow sprinkles on your frozen yogurt? Just don't tell my wife because she finds it embarrassing. Whatever, I'm man, and if my man mouth wants a rainbow of chocolate it's going to get it.

absolute worst piece of pizza i have ever had. The guy asked if i wanted it heated up. i said "a little." No exaggeration, 10 minutes later I burnt my mouth on the scorching hot cheese. I used tons of napkins to mop the grease off the top of a slice of cheese pizza. Never again!

Nice little boutique cafe. Sandwiches are great. You get a ton of food/meat on your sandwiches. Good amount of meat/veggie/bread choices if you'd like to customize your sandwich or you can choose one of their specialties. Their Berkelee is awesome (Roast Beef, Pastrami, Turkey, Cold Slaw, And Russian Dressing)

Ordered salad from here recently and I had no idea it opened up so recently! Definitely one of the top spots for greenage I've tried so far - hearty portions of romaine and romano cheese, good chicken and solid bread. Will update again after I try more of their stuff!

Awful service. Truly, I don't know how they survive. We order from them when we have to, not because we want to. The people who answer the phones rush you off and don't sound friendly and the food takes FOREVER to get to you with either pickup or delivery. I dread ordering from here. Additionally, 50% of the time, my order is incorrect. Today the guy gave me a BS line "the guy is leaving with your food now." 20 minutes later, he still wasn't here. I called and the guy who answered said, "he's leaving with your food now." They are full of crap.

Reality check. When did companies decide that customer service was not a recommended service provided by their employees ? Awful service, wait, I take that back, I will not walk near this establishment with a 10 foot pole. As an incentive at work, we normally order out (to different local businesses) on Fridays for lunch. Lets start by saying our delivery was 1 hr and 40 minutes late. Durring this time, we called the restaurant twice asking what was going on because we had people taking lunches at work at certain times. The lady on the phone responded by saying the driver left already. Another 20 minutes goes by and still no food. Now, lunch breaks are late, people are hungry and upset. Never a good combo at work! The driver finally shows up an hour and 40 minutes later from when we placed the order and says no one called him, had no idea what was going on with the situation. So the driver says, call the manager, Ali, while I'm here, so we called again and asked to speak to the manager who by the way (put us on hold for 5 minutes before answering the phone) and didn't want to help us, he told the driver to take the food back to the restaurant! Ew. So they lost a customer, a 30 dollar order and apparently re-used the food. ...and we were starving :( If I could rate negative, I would.

Delivery only review: Ordered the sun dried tomatoes and goat cheese salad off of foodler with a 20oz coke - minimum delivery was $8 (HELLYEAH!) Order was timed to arrive at 10:35pm and got a call at exactly 10:33pm, the delivery man was really nice and that just started off this chain of awesomeness. I ordered the salad sans chickpeas (had enough of those in my moms humus) and it came perfectly made as well as with a side of this awesomely delicious doughy bread that tasted - legitimately - like donuts! I wish I knew what the bread roll was that they serve with their salads because I would've ordered a dozen of just that! The salad was awesome, filled to the brim with goat cheese, fresh mesclun, sun dried tomatoes, pecans, and croutons. I got the balsamic vinaigrette with it and the tart taste was exactly what I needed. Over all, really great experience ordering from them. If you get the chance try the bread!

Entered at 12 noon Saturday. Only 2 other customers, already served. Woman at counter took phone order after phone order. 5 min later took our order for 2 smoothies & our money. Then 10 min of phone orders. 2 min of prep time, 20 in and out with the place empty. No plan to return. Smoothies good. Service, not so much.

Like many other yelpers who've commented already, this place is awful. It's really too bad because I live so close, they have outdoor seating and it's very cozy; but the service is so horrendous it's just not worth going back. My initial visit was alright; however, my second visit was enough to drive me away for good. My boyfriend and I stopped in to get a smoothie before setting out to run errands. We walked in to a woman yelling at some maintenance guy while three other employees just sat around. Finally we gave our order and sat down. It took 40 minutes to make a smoothie...sadly, I am NOT exaggerating. I watched the entire episode play out. The three employees noted earlier sat on their asses while this one woman ran around the place doing absolutely everything while unabashedly serving up her shitty attitude to everyone she encountered. I saw her make three smoothies for the guys sitting around then she ran out of milk. She sent someone off to get milk from god knows where while we sat there waiting. Finally, he returned and she made our smoothie without giving us any sort of explanation for the delay and barely squeaked out an apology for the wait. What's more, two customers came in to get food while on their lunch breaks and had to leave to go back to work before they even got their food. They spent their entire break waiting for their lunch which they never even got to eat! Although their high fiber smoothie is absolutely delicious, it is in no way worth the terrible service.

I agree with the majority of reviews that the food is good but service is TERRIBLE! I ordered a couple of pizzas for a business meeting. I ordered through GrubHub which said this restaurant delivers to my building. The delivery estimate was 45 minutes, but after an hour and a half wait I called GrubHub to see what was going on. While on hold with GrubHub, the delivery driver called to tell me he couldn't find my building. I had to give him directions (it's a HUGE office building on a major road and not hard to find) then he told me he couldn't find parking so I would have to come outside. I told him I couldn't come outside - I had a meeting to attend which is why I ordered delivery! He was extremely rude and refused to come inside the building. I finally sent an assistant downstairs to pick the pizza up. The driver was so rude to my assistant that he only give him a $1.25 tip. The driver looked down at the money then at my assistant and yelled "That's it?!?"! The pizza tasted good but was just barely warm by the time it reached us. I complained to GrubHub and their website no longer says they deliver to my building!

I really want to give this place 5 stars because of the froyo - I think it gives Hidyan Cafe a run for its money. So many options, and they give you a ton of it, too. Really delicious. Additionally, one time I got delivery from this place and my cat ran down the hallway while I was signing the receipt, and the delivery woman chased him down and brought him back. That's what I call service. However, their food is god awful. I found the pizza almost inedible (too greasy, and the taste was just off) and the prosciutto sandwich was also saturated with grease. No bueno. But really, don't go there for the food. Go there for the froyo. Cafe 472, I want to love you unconditionally -- please seek help with your pizza and sandwiches so I can make this possible.

For me, this place is famous for their paninis. They are pretty much fried on both sides and pressed, and are all very good.My favorites are the Italian and the cheese. They also do sandwich that are not pressed which are not as good. The roll-ups are ok, but the salads are very good. This place uses fresh vegetables in their salads, so in my book that means its good. The fro-yo is also very good, its cold, its sweet, its a very solid offering. In fact, I'm going to say that cup for cup, its better than most fro-yo places, certainly better than Zinga (WAYYYYY better). Paninis take a long time, especially if there are other paninis in the queue in front of yours. I'd recommend calling ahead/online ordering as the paninis come out way too hot anyway, and you have to let it cool before you dig in.

Let me precursor this review saying this is the first time I have ever felt it necessary to log-in & to share my experience (nonetheless my thoughts on a restaurant). But due to the nature of my encounter with the "Manager" this afternoon (which included being yelled at), I would like to save other people the time, money and sanity. For the record: My fiancé & I consistently have ordered from here because their food is "decent" but our last order was not. Our sandwiches were haphazardly thrown together sans condiments or items listed on the menu. The bread was stale. And, what we were essentially left with was a $10 sandwich comprised of two slices of turkey & a dash of lettuce. Concerned, I called the restaurant & let them know of our experience...because, at the end of the day, if my restaurant did not deliver what was promised on its menu...I would want to know, too. The gentleman that answered the phone was nice & told me that "Next time you order, we will give you a smoothie or a yogurt for the inconvenience." They even offered to redeliver but at this point, I didn't want to push my luck or take advantage of the situation & said "Next time!" Since I wanted to give this establishment the benefit of the doubt, I called to make an order again today. I explained the situation of my last transaction. To which the manager replied, "So? What you want me to do? You haven't ordered in three weeks! I can not honor this!" He then went on a rampage & told me to take my business elsewhere. I am not by any means disgruntled or upset...and, I am not one to gripe...but, this was such a disgusting display of business management. I hope they can turn things around for their employees and other loyal customers. In the meantime, NY Pizza will now be getting my business.

Delivery here for individuals is no good. Order came 45 minutes late with no advance notice from the restaurant. All in, they took 1.5 hours. Sandwiches were cold and soggy by the time I got them. It's also notable that I only live 3 blocks away on Comm, so there's really no reason they were late. When I called, I was basically told that they mostly do large orders and were waiting to get those complete. I was told that if I was looking for faster service, I should order somewhere else and not to order from here again. I cannot believe they would treat a customer like this.

Yes, delivery takes a while and it is not as quick as Mc fast food, but what you get is worth it. Fresh food made to order takes a bit of time. I have ordered out from here 5 times for myself and staff over the last coule of weeks. Every time we are impressed by the tasty food. Quality, good price and many options!

I live across the street so I always used to get froyo here. The other night I ordered a salad and when I got home, it was the wrong one. I called them to get the correct one, and they replied that it wasn't possible I got the wrong one because they don't make mistakes. Not very good customer service.

I love Cafe 472. I always eat in or get take out, because i live so close and the delivery does take a while, one time I was told it would take over an hour for a few fro-yos (eek!). Anyways Cafe 472 has delicious food. There staple item everyone must try is the Frozen-Yogurt. You pick a base (vanilla, sugar-free, tofu or chocolate) and then can add any mix in, and when I say mix-in I mean you order Oreos and they put 4 Oreos in the machine, you order cheesecake they put a square of cheesecake in the yogurt. Each one is made to order, fresh. The Fro-Yo is HUMONGOUS too, and it refreezes fine. It comes in a pint sized cup and is always overflowing. The next best thing on their menu is the Paninis. They are delicious, hot, and always crunchy. O and did i mention they're GIGANTIC. They always follow instructions with the special orders/ingredients and the people that work there are genuinely nice. This is my favorite cafe to go to that's close to Kenmore. It's cheap, yummy and filling. As for the best Fro-Yo flavors (peanut-butter & brownies is bomb, and Cheesecake marshmallow has a good chewy-ness to it).

Ordered delivery from the website. After an hour of waiting, I called and was told that the food would leave in 10 minutes. I was also told that this was "normal." After finally receiving my food, I called to speak to a manager. The manager was rude and disrespectful. I explained that I had been waiting over an hour and that no where on their website was this listed. His explanation was that it could take up to 2 hours and that the website was hosted by another company (this was their website)... He continued to defend himself but also suggested that if I wasn't satisfied, "maybe you should order from somewhere else next time." What a jerk. Definitely not ordering delivery from this place again! Also, somehow there was a sample bottle of mouthwash in the delivery bag but no fork... really!?

Two incidents: Placed an order and were told the delivery would be here in 45 minutes. 2 1/2 hours later we still had not received our order. After calling and asking a few times the owner told me it was my fault the order was taking so long because I ordered on a sunday night. He proceeded to raise his voice to me and told me that I should've known better. Got our froyo order wrong, we called and they were very helpful and delivered a new order, this order was still wrong and when we called back the owner was extremely unhelpful and very rude. He was not willing to even listen when we explained the problem proceeded to raise his voice to me again and tell me that he was right and I was wrong, that I must not know the difference between raisins and chocolate chips and then hung up on me. I was horribly offended by his comments and behavior and would not recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to be treated respectfully.

I am really disappointed in the quality of service at this place. It's unfortunate that the service is so bad because they have a great menu and they're really close to where I live and work but the service is bad enough to make me never go there again. I work at a hospital and we often order on the weekends/holidays. We typically place big orders and it usually take about an hour to get here which wasn't a big deal once we learned to call earlier to actually get our food at lunchtime. We placed an order today and it's a holiday so I understand if they're running a bit behind but all they had to do was say that when we placed our order so we could decide whether or not to order from someplace else. An hour and a half after we placed our order and the food still had yet to arrive I placed a call to them to inquire about our order. Instead of the man who picked up the phone being apologetic he was extraordinarily rude. He placed me on hold without any notice and then when he finally did speak to me he savagely told me how busy he was and that "the phone hasn't stopped ringing," that our order was "still being worked on" (we had ordered 2 salads and 2 sandwiches) and "to stop calling." I asked for an ETA and he impolitely told me he had no idea. When I told him that we didn't have to order from them and that this would be our last time getting food there he asked me if I wanted to cancel the order. When I said no because we had already been waiting so long he abruptly hung up the phone on me. Needless to say I will never order food from here again. Being spoken to like that isn't acceptable EVER, especially not at a place of business. They just lost very big customers as I will be sure to never recommend them again.

This place is a dream for vegetarians, or just people that like their veggies. The portions are huge. I can normally only eat half of a wrap. They have tons of mix-ins and toppings for the froyo (you get to chose if you mix it in or have it on top). Also echoing what others have said about the bread - it really is amazing, I really wish you could just order 2-3 pieces of it as a side! It's also nice that their delivery minimum is so low. I'm currently absolutely stuffed from an order here.

Food is SOO delicious! I ordered the veggie wrap and baked fries off of grub hub. The food was 30 min late, but that is grub hub's problem. The veggie wrap was fresh, crunchy and the flavors blended VERY well. Fries were warm and cruncy. Plus $8 minimum (YAY) was awesome. Will definitely order from here again.

To justify my 3 stars: Customer Service - 1 star (because you can't rate 0) Food - 5 stars!!! The service is terribly slow (if they are busy, which they are around lunch time). The girl behind the counter is very unfriendly (she obviously doesn't want to be there), but the man (who I think may be her dad) is really nice! Occasionally the food comes out really fast (I usually just call ahead like 10 minutes or so and then go pick it up myself). I've never had it delivered, but if it takes 20 minutes to make the food, I can't imagine how long it would take for the driver to then bring me the food! However, despite the terrible service, the food is pretty amazing - granted I've only picked it up fresh - as soon as they make it. I've had several things off the menu - the hearts of palm salad is really good and a staple item on their menu is their HOMEMADE Lemon Chicken Rice soup - it has a sour tang to it but I find that it's perfect on a cold day! I'm excited to try more items off the menu!

Ate here on a visit to Boston because it was near my hotel and got decent reviews. The food was decent, but not great. I had a panini of prosciutto, mozzarella, tomato, and basil, which was huge and pretty good if a little greasy. I also had a lentil soup which was very bland and needed seasoning. Didn't finish the soup. Probably would not go back.

Terrific place! I come here a lot. It's small, cozy and quaint. It is like the "angora cafe" of BU East. Great selection of Paninis.. I always end up getting a froyo when I'm here; you can even get it to go (FYI they are huge)!

New cafe right outside Kenmore, very convenient. Delivery to my location is free of charge, can't complain about that. And of course, the food is great! i've had it with this damn place, which is a shame, because i really like their BU sandwich and their baked fries. so why the bad review? because they're incompetent, and always fuck up my order. i don't order any fancy with a bunch of special instructions, my standard phone order here is 2 things. I would like a BU sandwich, and an order of baked fries. the person (same problems always ensue regardless of answers phone) she acknowledges and repeats my order, says it'll be ready in 20 min...wtf, are you growing the potatoes in the back? so regardless, i waltz in in exactly 20 minutes, and EVERY SINGLE TIME the fries are not ready yet, it'll be another 15 minutes. GET MY DAMN ORDER RIGHT! never again...

I love ordering delivery from Cafe 472. Their food is fresh and delicious and they have tons of vegetarian options. I love the Avocado & Brie wrap and also the Veggie Delight wrap - they are about the size of a Subway footlong so you get a ton of food for your money. They also make salads just the way I like them - they don't skimp on the toppings and only give you greens! I got the Almond and Apricot salad and was pleased to see that it had gobs and gobs of goat cheese and tons of almonds and apricot bits. I live in Fenway and it normally only takes 30-45min for them to get to me after I call. I will definitely continue to order from them!

I can't complain about anything - I ordered the Hearts of Palm salad with grilled chicken, Greek dressing and no tomatoes. It was DELICIOUS. Huge portion, more than enough for dinner (I had to eat the rest the next morning). My roommate also raved about her salad. $8 minimum (enough for just one salad if you add chicken) and no delivery charge? I'm sold! My food came exactly as I ordered it, and the delivery guy was very polite. Delivery was on time - exactly to the minute. I'll definitely be ordering from there again!

Cafe 472 came in place of the decade long or longer establishment - Ankara. It has new owners. We ordered food once for delivery and it took more than an hour and the person went away without delivering, then we recalled and they came, maybe two hour wait total. So a negative experience. However, since we only do pickups! And they prepare the food fresh, and it takes just as much as time as it would at home, if you have things ready. 5 mins. Everything is fresh and yummy. I recommend the their wraps - grilled chicken caesar, also the hummus and falafel sandwich. They do add additional items if you tell them. I was at the store the other day and the gentleman called someone who had placed an order, to ask if they want walnuts on top in their frozen yoghurt or a walnut frozen yoghurt, which also they can make. Such level of detail and care is to be appreciated! Sometimes when you do pick ups or delivery, stores give you whatever, and you eat it because you paid and it's a meal and you move on. In contrast, this level of particular care is fantastic. Also, their food is not inexpensive - a sandwich costs $6.95 or $7.45, but a mcdonalds meal, with junk (I do like mcdonalds sometimes - I admit!!) is around $7 or more, these days! Sandwiches of Cafe 472 are huge and I hope they keep it that way because it is one reason I come back. It is more than enough for a meal, sometimes lasts 2. Fresh, healthy, loaded with vegetable, delicious, many choices. Also love their smoothies. Frozen yoghurt yet to try but they blend in all kinds of things. You pick. Amazing choices! Must try! Highly recommended!

After waiting an hour and a half for my food (a small pizza and a frozen yogurt), the delivery guys asks me to MEET HIM OUTSIDE! He hands me the yogurt and walks away. I tell him I had a pizza. He comes back with a pizza that's freezing cold. When I tell him this, he takes the pizza from me and PUTS HIS HAND IN IT and says to me, "This isn't cold." This is the most disgusting food experience I've ever had, and this is coming from a waitress with 6 years experience of working in food service. When I point out how disgusting this is and that I want a refund, the delivery man snatches the yogurt from me and says, "Fine. I'll take your food back." Absolutely disgusting. Horrible service. Do not order from here.

I ordered from Cafe 472 for the first time, and was greatly disappointed. I ordered a chicken caesar wrap and the baked fries. Not only was the food barely warm by the time it was delivered, the fries were soggy and undercooked, and the wrap was salty and poorly made. In the wrap, the chicken was lumped at the bottom and top of the wrap, with the cheese pocketed in spots. I ended up throwing out most of the food, which I hate to do. I could not have been more disappointed with my meal, and now need to find something else to have for dinner.
