I grew up in Houston, Tx. This is the authentic Mexican food I grew to love! They have amazing tacos! Their torta sandwiches are great! Great homemade salsas! Their Breakfast plates are also great! The restaurant is pretty simple, but a great place with good service!

When I moved to Lake Charles a few years ago the food selections seemed dismal. After rooting around and doing some research I came across Rosita's and made the small trek to Sulphur. Now I'm wishing they had a Rosita's in every city!!! The tortas are like delicious pillows of love and made to perfection. They also make their own tortillas which is a plus in my book. Did I mention the salsa verde? No? Probably because I don't want you to get addicted to crack because that's what it tastes like. Liquid Crack My Friends!!!! All in all Rosita's is some of the best Mexican food in SWLA and the staff is friendly and inviting. Make sure you grab some of the Mexican candies on the way out (make sure you pay for them).

A throwback to the Mexican restaurants I would visit in Corpus Christi and other heavily Mexican influenced areas of South Texas. Decor is in-line, Conjunto music in the background and menu is in Spanish & English. My wife and eldest loved it, and will definitely return. We requested a substitution & inclusion for our order, which was accommodated willingly. Quality was very high, and I typically order at least a couple of courses, which was good that I didn't, because after enjoying too much of the chips and salsa varieties they brought out, my burrito was so filling, I was stuffed. I'm looking forward to my next visit!

We usually visit Louisiana once a year so this was our first time here. Very friendly service. Pricing is average on the plates. Tacos are over priced for items like potatoe and eggs. Tacos are a little small compared to what we get in Texas but did taste great.

The stuffed avocado is amazing, don't be fooled if you don't see it on the menu, just ask. I always get the roasted pork for the stuffing

Our food was surprisingly good. The chips and salsa, however, were a huge disappointment. More like bagged chips and tomato sauce. Not sure why this is the most highly rated restaurant in Sulphur. We will give it one more try.

This is authentic old Mexico food. Prices are good and service is good. We had the tacos and they where good. Not far from our house and open late so I am sure we will return.

Always great & friendly service, usually pretty fast, clean facilities, excellent food (it's real Mexican food, not Tex-Mex). I like the red salsa while my hubby likes the spicy salsa verde. The queso is very rich & buttery if you like that (made with real cream). Excellent fajita chicken & white cheese enchiladas, fresh guacamole, and pork quesadillas (sometimes a little greasy)....I adore the chicken & shrimp fajitas!! For dessert one time I got the 1/2 flan 1/2 chocolate cake- it was rich & yummy. This place is a small hole-in-the-wall type of place with a comfy home-cooking feel to it, run by a very nice family. Fairly quiet. Great prices. Authentic Mexican food. Delicious.

There isn't even any competition in the area. If you are looking for authentic Mexican this is the place to go. Decently priced as well. I have had the tacos on the corn tortillas, which I think are homemade, and they are so full of flavor. Yummy.... I have had the taquitos as well and there we no complaints there. Most people I go with get the fajitas, they always look good I just am not a fajita person. If you are in the area and like Mexican food, you need to stop here. It doesn't look like much from the outside, or the inside but stop and try it.

Authentico. Muy rico. My wife and I love the breakfast tacos. Great barbacoa served on flour tortilla, with chopped cilantro and onions. Real potato and egg. Beans and rice OK. Try it for breakfast.

The food wasn't bad, it had a different taste wasn't expecting the unique flavor. The cheese dip wasn't very good unless you like nacho cheese was expecting more of a queso. I can't complain much about it I enjoyed the service just wouldn't eat there again.

This place is a small, authentic Mexican restaurant. Hole in the wall with kitschy decor, great homemade salsa, and really good beef flautas. The fried and stuffed avocado is also good, along with the homemade tortillas. Great beef fajita meat too.

It's not Tex-Mex.....it's Mex-Mex. had grilled chicken breast with chorizo, onions, and peppers. Was pleasantly surprised to find grilled cactus on the side. The agua de mango was great. Next time I'm in town I'll visit this place.

Great place for authentic Mexican food. I had the bistec a' la Mexican. It is seasoned sliced steak cooked with tomatoes, peppers, and absolutely delicious. Little spicy so be prepared. Happy eating!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
