If I was basing this review on food and service I would give it a 5. Everything is always very good and consistent at each Cracker Barrel I go to. Always a great place to stop and eat while resting your feet. Although, today I was very surprised because I ordered the same thing I always order and I got overcharged for a add on house salad. No big deal. But then I went in the general store area so my son could pick out one toy and one candy. He picked out a tiny matchbox sized tonka cement truck and of course it had no price tag. We brought it up to the counter and the lady saw that it did not have a price tag and sort of rolled her eyes saying that the person working the floor would not be able to find the price so she went herself. After a minute, I went to go see if I could help her by showing where my son found it. She was already on her way back with some sort of other car that she said was $5.00. She said she was going to override to another price because she didn't think it was that much. The thing she rang up ended up being $1.50, which I thought the tiny truck would be. It also said tonka and this was tonka too. But, she then changed the price to $2.99 for the tiny truck. So for one chocolate candy .59 cents and a tiny toy truck it was $4.00. And she thought she did me a favor. So I got ripped off with my meal and this toy. All I have to say is check your receipt and talk to a manager because neither worker was competent enough to correct their mistakes when questioned about them. I will definitely never be stopping at this location nor will I be visiting another Cracker Barrel for a long time. I don't like being ripped off twice at one place. Management I would love to hear your thoughts on that..?

At a Cracker Barrel I like to see one thing, Wood Wick Candles ©. And, oh boy does this location have them. Scents that will take you from the soaring heights of the California Redwoods to an intimate and smoky brick fireside with a lover. My personal favorite is Sand and Driftwood. I light my candle every evening and bask in its heavenly aroma as I sip my whiskey neat and read the funnies in my local paper. Anyways, the food is good too.

What can I say some of the worst food and service I have ever had. Had about a 15 minute wait. When we were seated there were a lot of empty tables so we didn't know why there was still a huge line to eat. I asked what the soup of the day was and the waitress laughed and said "I don't know someone else just asked me that do you want me to find out?" She comes back and says "chicken tortilla potato". I figured she was mistaken and it was just chicken tortilla. I order that and the other person order a salad and a kids meal was ordered. We waited about 20 minutes for for that shouldn't have taken long. I recieved the chicken tortilla soup and it was the most disgusting overly salted food I have ever ate. I sent it back and didn't want anything else. It was an over all disappointment for my first time at a cracker barrel I wouldn't want to try another location in fear it might be as bad.

We had not eaten at the Cracker Barrel in years until we stopped here for lunch on 3/17/2015. My wife ordered the Meatloaf $5.99 special, and I ordered the Grilled Chicken/salad/Baked Potato $5.99 special. Both were excellent, and they provided biscuits and cornbread as well. I highly recommend these for quality and value!

I want to start off by saying I am a big fan of Cracker Barrel, just not THIS one. I consider myself a very patient person. I get it when the food is taking a while to come out because the place is hopping and the food servers are scurrying around like that whack-a-mole game at the carnival. During my visit, it was busy, it just wasn't whack-a-mole busy. People were getting served, it just wasn't me and the wife. People who had arrived after us were getting served before us. 10 minutes, 20, then 30 minutes goes by.The server said "there's a problem in the kitchen". Yes, no shit. I agree. They just didn't seem to have a problem serving everyone except us. Anyways, 40 minutes after we sat down, our breakfast comes out. My wife's breakfast sandwich was missing the egg, which is kinda the point of a breakfast sandwich. My Uncle Herschel's breakfast was missing the sausage, and at that point, I did something I've never done in my adult life, and that's ask for the manager. I watched him come out of the kitchen and promptly apologize to the table in front of us. Those poor people were bewildered and confused about what was going on. I would've busted out laughing if I hadn't been so pissed. I do thank him for not making us pay for this abortion of a visit. In short, Cracker Barrel gave me anal glaucoma: I cant see my ass going back there.

Have always been curious about this restaurant and their country cooking. It was kind of neat that one side is a restaurant and another a store. There are so many fast food restaurants when you're traveling far so it was nice to be able to have a sit down family style restaurant as an option. The food was good but I wouldn't say it's the best country food. I ordered their country style fish with a side of steamed vegetables and turnip. The turnip was very flavorful! The only thing I didn't like the night of my visit was our waitress, she was nice don't get me wrong but she kept forgetting to bring us the things we asked for. Maybe it was late and they were getting ready to close or she's new. Overall if you don't want fast food while traveling Cracker Barrel is a good stop.

If you're just looking for decent solid food that definitely isn't gourmet, there's nothing wrong with this place--the food is nothing to rave about, especially the entrees, although they do a much better job on the vegetables. We walked in on a Sunday about 1:00 PM, were told we had about a 30-35 minute wait, and were called for our table about 15 minutes later. Our server was very pleasant, replacing all our silverware promptly, as it appeared not to have been washed. Our entrees included three orders of chicken & dumplings and one order of dessicated meat loaf. The various veggies the four of us had were all very good, as were the biscuits and cornbread. Total bill (before tip) was roughly $45 for four people. The store itself has enough variety to entertain you for 20-30 minutes while you wait for a table--lots of goodies to view and/or purchase.

Horrible food quality. Worst Cracker Barrel we have ever experienced. Mashed potatoes ( if that's what they really were ) were served cold, were not creamy, and had absolutely no flavor whatsoever. The fried okra was burned, and consisted primarily of batter. Not good!!! My ribs were tender but lacked flavor. Lots of fat! Our waitress asked if everything was ok so I hesitated but politely told her what issues we had with the food. She told the manager, he came and delivered another round of fried okra and mashed potatoes. The okra looked better and the mashed potatoes were warm this time but still no flavor. We tipped out waitress and vowed to write this review ASAP upon leaving.

I always love to have breakfast at Cracker Barrel. Good food and service. Waitress was always on top of making sure my tea was filled.

Everything about this place was, for us, middle of the road. We were seated for about ten minutes before our server appeared, but she was very nice. I had the Thanksgiving special - he had chicken fried steak. Food was edible, but not fantastic. We enjoyed the peg game on the table, but could have done without the endless stream of country music. Food was pretty quick to come out, but we didn't get a refill on our drinks until we were about to leave. Price seemed fair for the amount of food we received. Overall, the pluses and minuses balanced out. I would not go out of my way to eat here again, but I also wouldn't be averse to it.

I eat paleo. Had an appreciation for the low carb section on the menu. Ordered the grilled roast beef and onions and it was pretty decent. Enjoyed the sides that came with it too. Waitress was helpful and nice. If I was going to complain about something, it would be value. Seemed a little pricey. Well I could also complain about the gift shop up front. I hate trinquets and gift shops.

I have been a regular customer since it first opened and have never had any complaints. Yes, sometimes the service may be a little slow but it is only because the place is always packed with customers. Have never had a bad meal here and have placed to-go orders on many occasions with no problems. Especially enjoy the fireplace in the dining area during the winter months. One of our favorite weekend dining spots.

Service speed is hit & miss, but always friendly (weekends are way too crowded for me). Often go during the week with mom or hubby b/c fresh yummy dishes. Adore the turnip greens & steamed broccoli & several grilled fish dishes (trout & haddock are the best)...but if you like fried fish one of their daily specials is unlimited fried catfish. I love that they have about 15 sides to choose from to go with your main dish. Excellent sweet potatoes too. Good grilled chicken tender sandwich & burgers. You can get breakfast all day & they have lots of options. Not a fan of the gift shop, but if it attracts business from travelers, that's fine I'll walk thru it. Great family atmosphere. Good value.

We love Cracker Barrel so on our way home we stopped, big mistake! Our waitress was rude to all of her tables, they weren't busy, yet it took forever for her to come to the table and to bring us drinks. When she did she acted like we were wasting her time. She went to the table next to us and it was an older couple, the gentleman was a Vietnam Vet and she looked at him and said you either need to speak up or look at me because I can't understand you. When our food came out it look gross and was not missing things. I would have been embarrassed to serve to anyone. I have never been to a Cracker Barrel were they food looked like you shouldn't eat it. I will go to other Cracker Barrel's but never this one again.

Its a guilty pleasure place in a chain restaurant. Cheap for two people. They do tend to screw your order up. But i love eating there like once a month mostly the breakfest food.

I have never had such bad service in my life. The waitress, Alexiss, was quite cute and had a smirk on her face. She obviously was extremely uncomfortable serving a biracial couple. She would only communicate with me (white female), she would not look at my partner (black male). She took his order with her back to him looking at me. Any communication was through me. Then, prior to our finishing our breakfast, she cane and began removing the plates...rushing us out as quickly as possible. Really, my partner had to repeat to her that he was not finished, as she began to remove his half finished plates, I just let her take mine, I had lost my appetite. This is a national chain, and we have eaten at other sites without any issues. They need to be aware that the people they hire should represent their product and if serving biracial groups is not something the label wants to do, they should advertise that!

This is a reliable chain restaurant. The one in sulphur has friendly staff and is a good place to get a square meal. Fried chicken tenderloins are really good, and you can't go wrong with the grilled catfish sandwich on toasted sourdough bread. Yum!

No Milk.... How do you run out of Milk?!? You are less than 1 mile from WalMart... Ridiculous. My cousin ordered the healthy breakfast. It comes with a side of yogurt. They brought her out white gravy, then honey mustard sauce.... She finally got yogurt and they charged her for it. My aunt got something extra in her dumplings... plastic wrap. They were not surprised at all. Apparently it happens quite often.

I can't believe I never went to this place when I lived in Louisiana. I came here with my family while visiting them from CA. My dad told me he comes here almost every weekend for breakfast with my grandparents. LOL So we wanted to see what they loved so much about this place. Pros: All-day breakfast, low prices, and friendly staff. Our server the FIRST time we came was soo sweet and friendly, we left her over 15% tip. She knew what my dad and grandmother wanted to order already. hahah Cons: Long waits on weekends. The SECOND time we came it was a Saturday night and boy was there a lot of people. We waited for a table for an hour! My little cousins were soo hungry, we ended up buying them some snacks from the store.

We've been to cracker barrel before, first time at this location. We went on a Saturday morning for breakfast and got sat immediately. Our food came quickly. Everything was good. I've sooo missed good orange juice! My meal was just over $7 - 2 eggs, 2 biscuits, bowl of sausage gravy, grits, hashbrown casserole and bacon. Kids pancake meal was $4 came with two full size pancakes, perfect for my two little ones to share. They had a choice of 3 types of milk for the kids too (whole, 2% and skim).

Are you feeling claustrophobic yet??? Ahhhhhh! All the people drive me crazy.....however they have some cute and interesting items just super overpriced! The food is lovely, hot, tasty and done quickly. I stopped here when driving from Houston to new orleans and it def beats arbys or the other roadside junk.

We ate breakfast there and the food was OK, if not great. The coffee, however, was epochally bad. Quite literally among the worst two or three cups I've ever had. (The liquid was hot and brown, but as far as coffee flavor went, I think they must have had an old can of Folgers they kept near the urn in which they boiled the water and, just before service, they must bring the can -- still unopened -- and hold it briefly near the coffee pot.) I gave them one star because the food was OK.

If you're passing through Louisiana, you HAVE to stop here. It's hidden behind the Texaco gas station and doesn't look like much from the outside. The place is actually pretty large and split into half gift shop, with old fashion candies and souvenirs, and half casual dining. We ordered the ribeye steak, homemade chicken and dumplings, blueberry pancakes, and side of fried okra and hashbrown casserole. It came with a side salad, biscuits and cornbread. The steak was decent - what you would expect from a casual joint like this (A1 sauce and all), but the chicken and dumplings was the thing that really hit the spot. The pancakes had tons of blueberries cooked in and a warm blueberry sauce served alongside. I actually really loved the okra, and pretty much all of the food was good except (surprisingly) the cornbread, which was flat and flavorless. The service was really good and the food came quickly. Don't expect a light meal, but it's not slathered in fat either. Can't go wrong at a place like this.
