This is our Monday night hang out. They have 99 cent beef or chicken tacos, hard or soft and 99 margaritas! There beef tacos are my favorite. Service is hit and miss. They have some amazing servers and then some that are not so good. Always packed every time we go.

Road tripping and got off the I10 and bam! La Rumba Mexican Grill & Cantina...we went In and friendly welcome. Chips and salsa within a minute of being seated all complimentary of course. I ask for a recommendation and fajitas was on the top on the list of recommended items. Minutes later a sizzling platter of shrimp, chicken and steak with onions and bell peppers. All tender and seasoned perfectly...it came with extra plate w beans, rice, guacamole and sour cream. Buddy orders carnitas plate...enough food in either order to feed two. Both expertly prepared. This is the real deal folks truly authentic w huge portions. Full bar and friendly service. If you want real Mexican food stop here. Thumbs up for La Rumba!

Great place. The ground beef quesadilla is WAY beyond good. If you ever go there, you MUST say "My compliments to the chef!"

This restaurant is very clean with a pleasant decor as well as quick and friendly, attentive service. As is customary with most Mexican restaurants, chips and salsa are complimentary. In my opinion, the appetizers are not a good value, but the entrees and drinks are priced very well. They serve Coca Cola products. Orders come out fast and hot. There is WiFi which is a wonderful thing considering Sulphur does not have good cellular reception (at least that's the case with T-Mobile in Sulphur). I came in at high noon on Sunday and the service was not compromised by the church crowds at all--there are plenty of staff at hand which kept wait times to a minimum! Will definitely consider coming back the next time I am in the area.

Don't know what happened but they lost their touch. Been there a couple times but our last week visit was terrible. We had the combination fajitas and there was plenty of veggies, shrimp, beef and chicken. There problem was that it tasted like they forgot that it was a Mexican dish that had taste. Totally and completely bland. I have had food in England that had more spice then this. Really disappointed. We will have a hard time going back. Oh. The 2 stars are for the service.

Good friendly service, usually pretty fast, clean facilities, affordable excellent food (and more authentic than most in the Lake area)...and awesome queso blanco! Great margaritas (like the 2 for 1 drink specials- be careful the medium is quite big), good tacos, fajitas, flan, sopapillas, and quesadillas. Big fan of the "Toro Bravo" dip (triple meat w/ queso blanco). We come here weekly. It can get a loud on weekends when they have karaoke in the bar area (but pretty funny too). They usually have a TV with a soccer game on & another with a Hispanic show on the other, plus some Mexican music playing. Very casual. Has a small patio if the weather is good. So glad the previous few places that were here are gone b/c this place blows them all out of the water. I have no complaints.

Good food; inconsistent service. First time, service was awesome. The next couple of times, we've had to refill our own water because our server disappeared. The food has always come out very fast though. Steak fajitas are really good, but make sure you ask for jalapenos if you want any spice, as they are not spicy at all. Good flavor though.

I've been there a couple of times and 1) I do not like the food, I wish I did, but I don't. 2) I've had mediocre to decent service. 3) If you want to go for something, go to drink... Now, that works...

The best margaritas in town! 2 for 1 everyday! The Quesadillas are really good. And they give a generous serving of Fajitas. While these dishes are good, I highly recommend the Toro Bravo dip. It is basically chicken, steak, and shrimp in a cheese dip. It's like 130x better than the flameado at Casa Ole.

Great food and the staff is awesome!!! Love the Vinton LaRumba also!! The margarita's are terrific! 99 cent Taco and Margarita Monday's are a big hit!! Everything is fresh and prepared when you order. I am a big Salsa fanatic, and LaRumba's Salsa is off the chart great!! Great place to have some awesome Margarita's and authentic Mexican cuisine!!!

Stopped by this place on the way back to Texas from South Carolina. We were all missing good Mexican food and decided to give it a shot. This place has great service and excellent food, reminded us of our favorite restaurant back home. Good salsa, white cheese queso, perfectly seasoned beef and chicken, giant burritos... And fair prices. Definitely recommend it.

Not bad...not great...but ok. Like others have said service is hit or miss. Music is too loud! and the staff seem like your in the way and appear to care more about their looks more than taking care of their customers! Food is ok a lil under spiced for my taste. The fajitas are very good and a single order is enough for 2. A lil pricey in my book, my wife loves it which is why I keep going back.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
