This is my favorite take out Chinese restaurant. I order food there and pick it up with pleasure. I haven't tried the delivery because it is convenient and the parking is no problem. The Garlic Shrimp is my favorite. One of my best friends is a gourmet and he agrees! I heartily recommend it.

We ordered for delivery a combo plate of cashew chicken and shrimp fried rice. The order was delivered and upon opening the container, the first thing I noticed was that the shrimp still had poop clinging to them; in other words, they don't clean their food properly. The second thing I noticed was that their "fried rice" wasn't fried rice, but yellow rice. This is how bad it has become...the people running the place are obviously Asian, yet they evidently don't know what fried rice is. Very disturbing. I called to complain and the woman who answered just kept reciting all of the English she knew, which was "is ok is ok, we make nudder fo you." I said, "NO, I want a refund." She just kept repeating herself, which made me realize she doesn't understand English. She hung up on me twice trying to get the refund. So, I hopped into a car and drove up to the restaurant and approached her there. I asked her if she was the person who hung up twice on me on the phone. She said, "I give you refund, no probrem." I responded, "Yes, that's what I want." She handed me $20, and I stopped her and said, "No, plus delivery charge. I didn't pay delivery charge for you to deliver crap food." She refunded it. I told her I would never order again and that I knew they had just opened, and after having a look at their gross kitchen area, I know one phone call to the Board of Health is all it would take to shut them down. To be perfectly honest, it's been years previous to this experience that I've encountered bad Chinese food. Their food was gross, slimy, greasy, and full of fat and gristle. And again, they didn't clean the shrimp properly and tried to pass off yellow rice with a few shrimp on top as "shrimp fried rice." NOT recommended. I'm sure they won't be in business long.

A friend of mine refers to places like this as "Generic Dragon" restaurants. This is a typical Chinese take out place. It's got a counter to order and one or two tables where you can eat if you don't want to take it home. So what's different from all other other Chinese take outs? For me it was the House special wonton soup. I love wonton soup, so an enhanced version is right up my alley. Take basic wonton soup and add shrimp, pork. chicken, beef, carrots. bok choy. bamboo, and other vegatbles and you have a good meal and a filling one at that.

I thought i would try this place that opened in Metairie and it was a mistake I wont make again. I took over an hour for delivery, they forgot to bring me the credit card receipt to sign and got my order wrong. When I called back to tell them the order was wrong they refused to refund me for the food they didn't bring me. It was a nightmare and I will be ordering from Hot Wok from now on.

Love this place! Simple, good quality, inexpensive Chinese take out . Kung Pao chicken was awesome, with fresh carrots, celery, green pepper and mushrooms. Everything we've ordered has been perfect We live nearby.... Call, order, it 's always ready when we arrive. Nice people!

Tried them today. Good Food, Great Prices, good portions, cooked to order, FAST. Take out or dine in. The staff is friendly, and the place is very clean. I'm glad to have an option in/near Old Metaire with GOOD Chinese food. It's on my way home from work, and since they make good food, my wife and I will be weekly regulars here. They are located next to Rouses Grocery on Airline & Labarre Rd, in the corner of the "L" shaped strip mall.
