I just got off the phone with the guy. If the food is half as good as his attitude and friendliness, it may be the best thing I'll ever eat. Will add caveat when finished. Edit: somehow, the food was even better than the service. The spaghetti and meatballs. The sauce. Jesus.

Always love coming to eat here. They know us by name. My favorite dish is the spaghetti and meatballs with a pesto pizza for an app. Go see Travis and the crew, you won't be disappointed!

Door & website states open Sunday's 5-9PM & the door is locked with bars, chains & a dead bolt on it with no note @ 5:30 pm Sunday. VERY unprofessional!!!!! My son & I will go somewhere else & not know how this place is I guess.

When you walk in this place the smell is amazing. Its like walking in a wall of strong fresh pizza. It is a smaller place with about 10 tables w red and white checkered table clothes. I placed an order over the phone and the man that took my order was extremely polite. I order the muffaletta. they toast theirs which is how I prefer its. the meat to olive salad ratio was good because it was more meat than all of salad. also the ham inside with smoked because it had a smoky flavor to it. overall very good hole in the wall.

We visited on Friday. The place is tiny, people were standing waiting for tables. The place could use a little bit of an expansion but other than that I wouldn't change a thing...Omg the Italian Salas was amazing. The pizza was the best I have ever had. I can not wait to go back. They have daily chef specials...a little taste of Italy right here in Metairie.

Hands down the BEST Italian food I have ever eaten. The service was tops. I would highly recommend this place. Make sure you get a meatball.

Cute and casual place in Metairie. The best part of this place is their red sauce. It's hearty but a little sweet. Get the cheesy bread for an app! It's gooey and delicious. You can't go wrong with the spaghetti and meatballs. They also claim the best meatball poor boy in the city. Everything we have tried has been good. We go for a quick and cozy dinner when we don't want to cook!

I knew nothing of Gio's until last week. This disappoints me, because I'm always looking for good places to eat somewhat nearby my office, and I've probably missed out on a LOT of good meals by not knowing about Gio's. The husband and our kiddo came to visit me on Good Friday - they were off, I had to work, bleh. Since I stumbled across Gio's earlier in the week while obtaining a croissant from Maurice's bakery, I suggested we give it a try. I'm so glad we did! Their lunch specials are huge. The little one and I split a plate, with an extra meatball on the side. Husband says his po boy was good, too. We were the only people in the restaurant for lunch, but the employee serving us wasn't overbearing. He was just friendly enough to compliment a great meal. It is definitely a casual atmosphere. Nothing fancy, just good Italian food.

Love everything that b I've tried at this hidden treasure! The red gravy/ spaghetti sauce is just like my Grandmother used to make. Lasagna, meatballs, pizza, Italian salad, Italian sausage. All good.

This is a cool dive Italian restaurant in the usual Metairie strip mall. The place is just old and kind of dirty the way you expect a dive joint to be. The food is much better than I would have expected and it is some of the best casual Italian food in the area that its in. They even managed to surprise me as they serve their lasagna with a side of angel hair pasta and that's something I just haven't seen anywhere else at the local Italian places. In addition to their pasta entrees they also have pizza and po boys. Overall I like both the dive ambiance and the food here along with the fact it is a great place to grab a quick lunch at a good value.

Gio's is by far the best Italian food restaurant in the area. To compare it to Olive Garden is ludicrous! That's a nationwide chain of frozen trash. Gio's is not a Dive! Sure it's old but a benefit to anyone who loves Italian food. You cannot compare a natural taste nor a excellent staff . I rate this restaurant The Best. On Ambience? Misplaced adjective here enjoy your food and cast no stones. You might be amazed.

Some of the best red gravy I've ever had (and my wife's family IS Italian). The pizzas are wonderful...fresh ingredients. I also love the meatball sandwich. Their Italian salad dressing is wonderful (appears to be their homemade recipe). You truly feel like you're welcome when you're in there...they treat you very well. I'd give it a 5 rating, but the place does show it's age on the inside. The red & white checkered tablecloths, the dank bathrooms, the old old floors, the shaky chairs. The food more than makes up for all of that though. They have cannolis too that are amazing. There is video poker for the adults and also a TV. They usually have music playing, but it seems like it's always the same tape/CD of Italian favorites (Dean Martin, etc.). I love this place though. Great people run the place and the food is just about second-to-none!

This is a very casual restaurant with great pizza. The crust is perfect and the sauce is really good. Some of the best pizza I've had in the area. I live in New Orleans, and this is probably the best pizza (in terms of a casual meal) I've had.

By far, the best pizza in the Greater New Orleans area. Thin crust, homemade sauces, good toppings. They opened in Gentilly 25 years ago and moved to the Metairie location 5 years later (Ms. Lorraine, co-owner, told me last night). I had the misfortune of getting a pie from Vanezia's restaurant a couple of weeks ago, and Gio's blows them away.

Super friendly atmosphere and decent pizza. It's a real neighborhood type place despite being located in a strip mall. Lots of regulars and it didn't take long for them to learn our order. It's close to home and although it is not as good as Tower of Pizza, it's less crowded so it's a great go to type place for a good pizza.

this joint may not look like much from the outside, and the inside looks a little dingy. but if you can get past the cheap tablecloths, random decor (a "doors of cape cod" poster?) and seedy video poker area, you 're in luck. this is the most underrated hole in the wall with the best pizza around. better than Reginelli's, Mark Twain's, Italian Pie...you name it. sauce is amazing- get extra on the side and dip the crust in there. this place is family owned and treats you like relative- sometimes nice, sometimes a little testy, all part of this place's charm. the son of the family, johnny giavotella, plays for the KC Royals

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types.
