Fusion cafe is pretty good. The Pho was great, we would order the BBQ ribs and egg roll again , the sushi was better than we expected and the lemongrass chicken and noodle dishes were really good. The only thing I didn't like was the chicken fried rice, it was really dry.

Vietnamese and sushi. Clean, fast, reasonably priced, dishes plated nicely and close by. Like most places reviewed lately, I've been on a quest of trying out all the post-Katrina eateries... big and small. By the way, this place is small and very casual; flip flops and shorts ok. I ordered bacon spring, combination pho and Metairie sushi roll. All plates came out quick. I'll probably come back to amply test out their sushi. In regards to the four-star rating, I base it on my experience and their execution-not compared to other establishment. If I could, 3.7 would be an accurate rating but they were on cue.

We probably order from here too much! But, we have yet to have something that we didn't like. Com bo Luc Lac is ahhhmazing. The Pho is excellent. ( we've tried shrimp, beef,) Veggie pho is veg mix bagged veggies, so we only ordered that once, but spring rolls are really yummy. One co-worker has gotten friend rice a couple times and loves it. Bubble tea is super fresh and not too sweet.

Stopped in for lunch and got the house bahn mi while my wife got the lemongrass chicken vermicelli and both were excellent. Service was great although we were early and no one was there yet. Its more of a counter cafe usually. Prices were good and portions were perfect for lunch. Plan to make this a regular stop.

I have been to this place several times and have yet to be disappointed. The food is great and the service is excellent. I usually get the House Special (Banh Mi Dac Biet) and the shrimp spring rolls.

So where is the "Fusion" in this place? I clearly see Vietnamese. I clearly see Japanese, and I clearly see some poorly done Cajun cuisines, but nothing is fusion? Service took a while in which I was patient. The food was good but no fusion. That is my only regret coming here. I would try them again that is for sure.

First time really having Vietnamese food and I have to say my fellow yelpers did not let me down with this one. Number 1 I work right now the street so it's pretty convenient that this delicious place is here. I had the BM2 and a side of egg rolls, they were both cooked thoroughly to perfection. Although the BM2 is a tad bit spicy for my taste but all in all it was all delicious. Will be back again to try something different

The food here is better than I expected. The spring rolls were great, the Po Boys were tasty, and the vietnamese food was AWESOME! Very cool place for the location, and prices were reasonable for Metairie. I would come back!

I really like this place. It is not a fine dining restaurant by any means. In fact, it is more like a lunch diner, but each time that I have gone in, they are on the ball. They take my order quickly and the sushi is really good. I especially like the spicy tuna and the dynamite rolls. Now, my boyfriend is not the biggest sushi fan, so he always gets the Vietnamese poboys, which are little rolls packed with various meats. They really are tasty and dirt cheap- I think one is only 3 bucks or so. This is a great little neighborhood place to either eat in or take out.

Visited this restaurant for take-out dinner... I ordered the beef short rib dinner and my husband ordered the lemongrass chicken dinner... The gentlemen taking our orders was very polite and patient as we asked questions regarding the menu... The meals were DELICIOUS!!! (Just wish it can with a little more rice)... I highly recommend this restaurant for great Vietnamese food! Can't wait to visit again!

They screwed up our order by forgetting a roll, but I really don't care about that. The food was very good. Sara had the char-grilled shrimp rice vermicelli and she loved it. I had the char-grilled chicken Vietnamese po-boy and really liked it. Overall great place. Would definitely eat here again.

Yum. Stopping in here for lunch lately. Nice people & great food. Have tried wonton soup, spring rolls, & po boys. Really good.

I love Vietnamese food but I have to say that Fusion's pho is tasteless and pretty disappointing. For starters the bowl is smaller than at most other Vietnamese restaurants. They also don't put as much beef in their pho as others. And to top it off the broth just doesn't have any taste. I have ordered sushi here a few times. The sushi is quite good and the sushi menu has about 30 different choices. Lots of families like this place too because they have items on the menu that kids love like chicken tenders, chicken nuggets, and bubble teas. The service is usually good as the staff is pretty attentive and upbeat. I will probably be back soon as my sister lives just two blocks away but if you want a better pho experience go further down the street.

I've been here twice. I like their vietnamese po'boy. It is one of their best po'boys.

If I could give this place 2.5 stars I would, but based on my experience here, I just could not really justify giving it that extra star. My usual pho places around town are Pho Orchid and Pho Nola, but they were both closed on this particular day due to holiday hours, and so my dining companion and I opted to try this place in a severe fit of pho panic! Their sushi certainly looked good from the yelp pictures I had browsed but we did not order any sushi since we were specifically wanting a pho fix. So we did the Shrimp and Pork Spring Rolls and two bowls of their House Special Pho (Dac Biet). The spring rolls were good, but let's be honest, it is hard to mess up a spring roll so I would be really worried if they did. The pho....honestly.....was just.....meh. The broth was a lot more mild than I usually experience pho elsewhere, and I noticed the bowl was much smaller in portion than the giant bowls of pho I have had at my other usual places (and for the same price). It's almost like their pho isn't as authentic as the pho I am used to having elsewhere. It was not "bad", I still ate it, but I did find myself asking them for some hot chili oil to give it a little extra something. Also, I noticed that there was no tendon or tripe in the pho at all, so I'm not sure if that maybe contributes to the lack of flavor. Perhaps they tried to "Americanize" their pho to please the masses. Everyone else at the place was eating pho, so maybe this is all just me because they seemed to be enjoying it a lot. But, I also must point out that the place was filled with white college age kids so something tells me that the crowd that usually frequents there doesn't have a whole lot of authentic Vietnamese food knowledge. This brings me back to my usual rule that if I'm in an asian inspired restaurant, and everyone in the place looks like me, the food probably isn't very authentic. To be noted, perhaps their sushi here is what they do better at. I find that with these Asian fusion themed restaurants popping up everywhere, usually they tend to do one main thing fairly well and the rest is sort of just on the menu but not really their best fare. So given that this is a "fusion" restaurant, they probably don't make their pho broth entirely from scratch like most authentic places do--and that is the difference I had tasted.

Grill lemongrass short ribs was okay. The sauce was good. Service was good. Might be difficult to find oarking around lunch / dinner.

Excellent food and excellent service. We especially like the Fusion salad, it is superb!

I'd give Fusion Cafe 4 1/2 stars if I could. It's my favorite Vietnamese joint in Metairie. The service has been outstanding the couple times I have been there. Egg rolls have been great and the serving size of the Pork Bun has been great. I'd suggest this over Pho NOLA and they are very close. I drove by Fusion for months before I finally went in. I'm glad I did!

The spring rolls are so fresh & very good every time. I've never ordered something that wasn't made fresh, with fresh ingredients & wasn't delicious. I love this place.

Fusion Cafe was a pleasant surprise. We were on Veterans running some errands on a Friday evening and decided to get some dinner. We settled on Asian, but couldn't agree on exactly what. So, we asked Siri and this place popped up on the list. It appeared to cover all of the bases in the realm of Asian cuision, so we decided to give it a try. It was almost 8:00 on a Friday night. I got a little nervous when we walked in and I noticed the sign on the door said that they closed at 8:30. I don't like to be rushed. And we weren't. At all. They have pretty wide variety of different types of Asian cuisine items on the menu-- from sushi to fried rice to Korean BBQ to Vietnamese po-boys to Pho. They even had a "NOLA" section with various "local" items. It was a little overwhelming but our waitress was extremely helpful and helped point us in the right direction. We started off with some edamame and a couple of rolls, all of which were a-ok. The star of the meal was the Korean short ribs that my companion ordered. I got the beef and broccoli stir-fry and it was pretty dang good, too... but the short ribs were way better. The interior is pretty lacking in the ambience department. Very bright, flourescent lighting and not much in the way of decor. There was only one other table occupied while we were there, but there was a steady stream of folks coming in for pick up orders. I think the $ designation for price is a little low. I'd put it more in the $$ category.

My good friend mentioned this place to me a week ago when her husband brought us pobyos from Fusion Cafe...which is still fairly new. They serve a fusion of Japanese, Vietnamese, and seafood hence the name. Although it is quite a small atmosphere, the place offers a modern but casual dining experience. Service is quick and the food is delicious! I personally ordered the banh mi dac biet with an avocado bubble-tea tapioca including an order of spring rolls as an appetizer. Everything was yummy! My friend whom is "pho-obsessed" actually gave them a rating of 8 out of 10 (10 being great) in regards to thier pho dac biet. Trust me, anything above a 6 is hard to obtain from this pho critic so that should speak volumes for their dish. :-) As for me, I loved their Vietnamese po boy (banh mi dac biet) so much that I had to order it again. I also wanted to add that their bubble-tea is the most blended I've ever seen! The spring rolls were good too but nothing super special. In all, I would definitely recommend them especially if you're in the metairie area!

Not really a fan. "If you try to do too many different things, you will undoubtedly do none of them that well. "-my mommy (then she usually called me dumbass) I ordered the basic beef pho (they don't do the good stuff with the tendon and tripe). It was bland. Boring. Blah. I also ordered an eal sushi roll. Blah again. It was just all blah. I don't want to buy blah. If I pay money to a restaurant, it is with the idea that they can do at least a good job at it or it shouldn't be on the menu. Nothing there was good enough to be on the menu. SO... blah.

Best place to get vietnamese/seafood/japanese food in metairie! I usually order the Korean BBQ short rib...delicious. it is served with rice and vegetables and more than enough ribs to fill you up. The combination noodle soup is another one of my favorites (Hu Tieu Dac Biet), combined with different noodles, and seafood all in one. The seafood platters are also worth it, with shrimp and oyster filling up your plate. If you want to get bubble tea, you should try Thai Bubble Tea. Overall, a great place to get a quick bite if you are craving asian food/seafood in metairie.

I went here ready to order the Korean BBQ ribs, but unfortunately they were out! But I ordered the grilled pork with rice and egg. I also ordered Thai Tea with tapioca! :D It was yummy!! Probably my second favorite place to get Thai Tea (but Pho Nola and this place are tied at second, ha) I will definitely go back again to try their KBBQ and pho! The inside was very nice and clean. Kind of small, but still good! :3 I'll definitely be returning. :D !! ~

Pho is not the best i've had but it's solid. Also had their cornish hen, which was pretty good, but not amazing. Their Vietnamese po boy was also good, but wish it was bigger.

This place is a little jewel in an otherwise busy shopping center. Really sleek and modern looking inside, service is good, and I really enjoyed my charbroiled pork bahn mi and vietnamese egg rolls. Prices were super reasonable, $4.95 for my bahn mi, $5 for three spring rolls. I also had a lychee bubble tea ($4) which was more like a smoothie than bubble tea I've usually had. No matter. I'll eat here again; someone at a table next to me was having a rice dish that looked yummy and huge, too, maybe I'll try that next time.

I enjoy their white rice dishes and banh mi. Their thai short ribs are amazingly good. The banh mi was good as well, but not the best I've had. I didn't however enjoy anything else they had to offer on their menu. The fried rice was a too salty and not enough meat for a combination dish. The same can be said about their bird nest (crunchy fried noodles with combinations of meat and veggies on top. The waitress was kind and very helpful. I would go back just for those 2 dishes though, so it wasn't a bad experience.

Yup yup, I'm sold. After a week of bringing in frozen meals and leftovers for lunch, I was in the mood for a little treat and Yelp saved me from settling on Subway and Panda Express. I got the Bun tom Nuong (char grilled shrimp vermicelli) and it was delicious... six large perfectly char grilled shrimp over a bed of vermicelli, pickled carrots and cucumbers, mint and lettuce and the magic thai spicy sweet juice on the side. I also got an order of spring rolls that were pleasantly stuffed with sprigs of cilantro. I still adore Singletons' spring rolls for their hugeness and flavor, but these I think were more flavor balanced and better proportioned. The peanut sauce was slightly sweet and addictive...bonus points for having two little tubbers of peanut sauce for the take away order. I topped that off with a large Vietnamese coffee and my only regret is the large wasn't a charbucks sized super grande as I could sip on this quite happily all afternoon. I spent $16 and I easily have half of the entire meal for dinner tonight - minus the coffee. Decor and ambiance are pleasant and clean, but nothing to drive there for. It's kinda about the food. And that's ok with me. I will definitely visit again...would love to try the viet po boys as well as the sushi which, judging by the tables around me, looked pretty nice as well. JeAnne

Thanks to my fellow yelpers I ordered the highly recommended combination soup. It didnt disappoint either. We also ordered a crunchy roll with salmon and cucumber added and it was very good not dry like sake cafe. The spring rolls were just ok and the shumai was frozen just like sake cafe too. The fried rice was on the dry side and the scallops in it were small and old. My thai bubble tea was good, I like how she asked if I wanted the tapioca or not. My husband ordered the hot sausage poboy(its a fusion menu alright) and he said it was very good and cheap. Ill def go back

My girlfriend and I frequent this restaurant. She comes from a traditional Vietnamese family, and I Italian. She began to introduce me to the food and I developed a taste for it. Fusion Cafe far exceeded my expectations. I grew up in the area and watched as repeated businesses failed in the location. Fusion has a quaint ambiance, fast service and excellent food. The Com Thit Nyoung is my favorite. The meat is tender and flavorful. The Pho was also the best I've had. I tell my friends all the time they would be in for a pleasant surprise at Fusion Cafe. I will continue to visit the restaurant and recommend it to everyone. I know that Fusion will be the first success for the location.

Most of the time this place is good, but it depends on who is working. We had one server that acted like we were an inconvenience to her. She was on her lap top, so when ever we need a refill or order we had to approach her, instead of her serving us. I will go back, the short ribs are the best, but I hope the server's attitude has changed.

The Vietnamese food here is great! Especially the grilled pork chops, pho, and the sandwiches (banh mi). I've eaten at Vietnamese restaurants all over the US as well as Vietnam, and this restaurant definitely is a solid choice in terms of food quality, authenticity, and cleanliness. Not sure why there are a couple of negative reviews there, but I've had nothing but positive experiences here!

The service was pretty quick but we went around 1pm so I don't know how they handle a busy service. We had the spring rolls for an appetizer, it tasted really fresh and the peanut dipping sauce was good. If you want any hoisin or sirracha sauce, you need to ask for it because they are not on the table or within reach. The only problem with the spring rolls was the portions, for $5 dollars I expected more than 3 rolls cut in half to make it look more than it is. I had pho tai (rare beef). The portion was good and the broth was very flavorful. However, the beef was not rare, which is the best part since it keeps the beef tender and fresh...instead it was well-done, which makes me think whether they don't how to cook pho tai or they left my bowl standing for too long and that cook the beef. My brother that the rice noodles and BBQ pork. He said that half the pork was well-seasoned and the other half was extremely salty to the point where it was inedible. I wanted to try their avocado bubble tea but they were out of tapioca. Disappointment there. Will come back to try their bubble tea later.

Fusion Cafe is one of those hidden treasures. I stop in to eat whenever I'm in the area. It's a bit out of the way but it's worth the drive. The place is really nice. Seems like they serve gourmet food and charge fast food prices. I really enjoy the food and the service here. I always order the Rotisserie Chicken with rice. It's the best and it really cheap. If your on a budget, order one of there gourment sandwiches. Ask for an extra fried egg and add some hot sauce. It makes the sandwich taste sooooo much better....

was a little nervous about trying this place. sushi and fried seafood and vietnamese food? it seemed like a lot could go wrong with that combo. HOWEVER, I was pleasantly surprised by this place. Had a sushi roll (very fresh), spring rolls, and vermicelli noodle bowl (also very fresh). All in all I couldn't complain. Will be back to try more... their menu is lengthy and their new orleans style poboys and well as the Vietnamese po boys looked pretty delicious. ps- mango limeade = yum yum! pps- the place smelled kind of like donuts because it shares a wall with Tasty Donuts... nothing wrong with that!

This place just opened about a month ago. We ordered Vietnamese po-boys (banh mi) for take-out. The banh mi was freaking AMAZING!!! The bubble teas are delicious too! I didn't get to go inside to see the interior, but I know after this food experience we will definitely be coming back to try other menu items. They serve Vietnamese, Japanese, and New Orleans style food. I could see this place doing very well for itself.

This restaurant just opened a week ago, and it's the cutest Asian Fusion restaurant and cafe in Metairie! The new owners redecorated the interior into a cozy, casual, hip, and refreshing place to dine, and the food is GREAT! The restaurant serves Vietnamese, Japanese, and New Orleans food, so there's really something for everyone. My mom and I had the combination pho, sushi, and the grilled pork - it was the BEST pho we had in Metairie, and the pork was seasoned PERFECTLY! If you want nice ambience, a good variety of delicious food, and a place with homey service, Fusion Cafe is the place!

I get Pho and sushi there alot. I love the atmosphere and the two sisters that run the place. They're always nice and smiling. While dining there I noticed that they greet everyone promptly but dont pressure you into ordering anything until you're good and ready. Ive tried quite a few things from the menu and I havent been disappointed by anything I've tried. I would recommend you trying the Viet spring rolls, as well as the Pho. The viet poorboys are great too. Great place!
