Best hot plate of soul food in the city. Stewed chicken on rice, sweet peas and baked macaroni. I'd take a picture but I smashed that already, lol. Reggae music, friendly, fast service. Always A1.

I passed by for lunch and the parking was so crowded we had to leave. Im giving this place 4 stars...even though I didnt get to enjoy the food, it looked packed..so the food had to be reasonably priced and delicious. The place is not hard to find but the area is a little less than favorable and the outside looks like a neighborhood store. The sign is done in graffiti which threw us off...bc we actually thought it was graffiti and not the billboard for the place. I dont always come across the river but look forward to checking this place out one day.

I drove all the way to Marrero to try their breakfast. I must say it was good. The breakfast was like your grandmother's cooking. I wish they but a location closer to the city. It was located in the middle of a neighborhood. Thanks for the great food! Next time I'll be back to try lunch/dinner.

The moment has come for me to review Wags...... I visited two times just to ensure the seriousness of my love of this place... I wanted to make sure I wasn't living in a dream world where macs n' cheese were perfect... Both of my visits have been during lunch time with my coworkers dragging me to Marrero. I never thought a day would come where I would willingly go to Marrero but this time has come. Location: It's a little bit out of the way, at least for a Nola girl down a few streets and them appear a little tiny location that really doesn't look like a restaurant of any sorts, but don't let that stop you. Enough parking around the building so there shouldn't be a problem. The owner/cashier is awesome. He is so friendly and sweet and the staff is very nice. Location looks a little sketchy so may not be for everyone, but I like it. I also like the fact there is always some great music playing specifically Dancehall making me feel like I'm about get up and dance like I'm in a club in Jamaica. Food: YES YES YES... First... It's cheap... You pick a letter (which represents such things as mac n cheese/potato salad/peas or shrimp fettuccine/potato salad/peas, etc.), then you pick a number (which represent such things as fish, shrimp, stuffed crabs, stuffed bell peppers). With just about any combo you will only pay $8... Yes that's all! I have to say next to Neyow's this place has my favorite macaroni and cheese. They are just the right amount of creamy and cheese, spaghetti style. The definitely is everything Southern Comfort Food should be. I also love the fist that is delicious and fresh as well as my beloved Stuffed Bell Peppers filled with great yumminess such as shrimp. I really haven't gone wrong with a meal here. Also, everyone who comes out with us always enjoys their meal.

The food is still very good.I had the fish and it was still hot and the pieces were large. Larry does a great job at recognizing his patrons he greets you by name and make you feel comfortable. That right there is a plus.Keep up the good work.

This place is in the middle of the ghetto, but it was worth the chance. It was a great meal, awesome people working and best crab cakes I have ever had.

I love this place! It is my favorite go to place for soul food, but you better get there early, they tend to run out of food around 5pm. They have daily specials that never disappoint and an awesome owner; their stewed chicken is the best!!!!!
