While, I'm not the biggest fan of Chinese buffets, the food and service here is always on target. This is my mother's favorite buffet spot so I tend to go for her, but I think the food is always good. I realize everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I've traveled extensively and know all too well the difference between a good and bad meal--never had the latter here!

Used to come to this buffet on special occasions or if we were in the area and I remember that it used to be glorious! Whole family stopped by and we noticed that the sign out front is somewhat broken, "no big deal" we thought; however that was just a sign of what's to come. The front looks normal and the price is fair for dinner (maybe 9.99 or 10.99 a person) so we decide to sit down. We get seated and the first thing I noticed is that the booth seats were in need of repair and the edges of the booth needed to be cleaned. I felt icky just sitting there, yerk! At least the food looked clean. Typical Chinese food, it just didn't taste as fresh as it used to. Maybe business slowed to where they thought it was more profitable to keep dishes under the heating lamp for hours at a time. Service was friendly and attentive. Overall I would never come back here unless they made some renovations and cleaned the place up a bit. Fresher food is a must (I mean, DUH, it's buffet chinese food, it's never too fresh but STILL it shouldn't TASTE like it's been sitting there all day)

This place is yuck!!! When we went to sit in the broken booth, my son noticed that a stinky smell comes out as you sit on the cushion. And don't dare look in the cracks of the cushions.... Don't think they have been cleaned in years!!! It was very hot in the dining area, and the women's restroom was filthy and smelled like raw sewerage! I will not be back!

This place is a good, reliable, basic Chinese Buffet. Service is always good and friendly. There is a wide selection of items on the buffet, everything from pizza to all the Chinese standards, some Sushi, try the Mai Fun noodles they are very flavorful. No, it's not fine dining, but dependable and a real bargain for the price.

Been going here since I was 12 when it opened and sadly they haven't updated since then (13 years ago) . The food is good but the place is so dated . The bathrooms eww and the booths are falling apart. With all the money they make they should update so you're not grossed out as you dine. But the food is good , not great but good enough .

You know what? This is about as good as it gets in a Chinese buffet. Reading some of the ridiculous comments here, I can tell they were written by family and friends of some other restaurants. Sooo... first off, YES it used to be an Olive Garden restaurant, hence the red and green umbrellas, but the decor is FAR from unapealing! Maybe not what you find in a Chinese restaurant, but certainly NOT worth complaining over! I have eaten here at least once a week since they opened, and I have never gotten a bad meal! I have eaten a variety of the food here and it is always fresh and good. If it is not, just flag the young man that walks around and tell him. He will bend over backwards to make your visit perfect! When you see a bad review here? Check out some of their OTHER reviews to see who is real! I travel all the time for my job and the Dragon Palace is one of the best buffets around!

The fiance actually likes this place, but I think that's only because it is really, really close to our house. Personally, I'm not a fan. I tend to not hold buffets to the same standard as other restaurants, but even on my Jenn's Buffet Rating Scale (I need to trademark that one), it's sub-par at best. There's a very limited selection. There is also a very limited number of customers, or so it seems. Since it isn't busy, the food isn't as fresh as it would be at a busier buffet. This means food sitting around on a hot pan for far too long. The service is good, the food is cheap, but it's really not worth the price that you pay. If I want Americanized Chinese food, I would much prefer to get takeout from a takeout place and spend about the same amount of money, or go to Chopstix Buffet on the Expressway (which is decent).

1.5 I think We got there around 12pm and were seated at once...er...once we told the girl at the counter what we were eating and drinking. We chose the buffet because it was Saturday and we still got the weekday lunch price of 6.95. We both got water and I guess that was lucky since we got NO refills... So..the buffet is small compared to my normal places such as Panda King at Hong Kong Market... The price was fine but even at 12pm, it felt like 90% of the items were on the heating pans for waaaaay too long. There were some dishes that had no fish that were really fishy tasting...but this is not a Thai place where fish sauce is the norm... The sushi was all k-rab and not crab and the one item that was salmon had such a horrible texture that it was inedible (this comes from a dude who eats sinew and tripe in his soups). They offer deserts but it all tasted so old...so old that I worried that my great-grand mother might have gummed the deserts I was interested in..so...um...no. Make about a dozen changes and I'll be happy to give you another chance... Ok..not really. Because every employee in the house behaved like they were blackmailed into doing anything at all. Seriously...want to make yourself feel better about your life??? Go here and watch these servers...it's like they expect electroshock at any moment.

I give it a 1.5 We went there 3 weeks ago, around 6pm Sunday. The restaurant was dark inside. Their decoration was hideous. They had beach umbrellas or whatever you would call it for the ceiling lamp. Selections were limited. Most of the food tasted ok except you could tell some of them were just gross. I had 1 or 2 crawfish and they were either reheated from overnight or overcooked. The crawfish meat did not stick together at all. The sushi bar had brown avocado and soggy tempura which means the sushi must have been there for quite awhile. By the way, there was fly in the honeydew tray. We definitely would not go back anytime sooner.

Glad I didn't read the reviews on this place before coming here, luckily for me I didn't even though they all are wrong! There was a great selection of food, especially for the 9.95 dinner price. All of the food was hot and they had a decent sushi selection. Customer service was great from when we first walked in until our check was brought to the table. Don't believe what others have said, try it for yourself!

This was previously an Italian restaurant that was not rehabbed when the Chinese place moved in. They should have, because its not in very good condition. Just because you're Chinese doesn't mean you get a pass on simple stuff. The food was hit and miss: On the one had, it was all hot, which (sadly) isn't always the case. On the other hand, a few of the items I tried were just gross. Service was good, but the food was not that great. Won't go back as I'm still looking for a good chinese buffet.

I went to lunch while out working on the Westbank recently. I really don't know why, but it seemed like it would be quick and cheap. I walked in, ordered the buffet (well, I didn't order it, I think it was the only option) and sat down. After receiving our drinks I walked over to the buffet to check out the selections; at that time I was greeted by a scene similar to the buffet that Clark went to with Cousin Eddie in Vegas Vacation. If each dish had not been labeled, I would have had no idea what they were. Chicken tasted like beef, beef tasted like pork, pork tasted like fish... my god, what is going on in this place?! I stayed away from the super saucy, gooey dishes and tried to stick with things that seemed safe, like fried rice, steamed broccoli, 'sushi', and some of the dim sum dishes. I don't know what it was, but the dumplings they served in the dim sum section tasted like they just took dough for noodles, stuffed it with cheap sausage mixture, and boiled them til they were about as tough as dried glue. I could keep going but it's not necessary. The one star they received is for the diet coke.... they serve a solid diet coke at Dragon Palace!

Not a bad selection for $7.00 lunch all you can eat buffet. There's a bit of everything cuisine in the selections, Chinese, Japanese, and local.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
