I have wondered about this bar since I was a kid. The name conjures up images of a sleazy strip club or a dark place filled with lewd behavior. Well, I am here to tell you, it isn't any of those things. The Naughty Knight is a bar for drinkers. It is open 24 hours, so regardless of when you need a beer, they'll be open. I ended up here after a yelp event. I was super excited to try it after always wondering what it was like. After all that anticipation, it didn't live up to the hype in my mind. Inside there is a bar, pool tables and a internet connected jukebox. The jukebox was great as I was able to listen and dance to Frank Sinatra, and then rap to BG. Imagine how impressed my friends were. Beer was very cheap and plentiful. They do sell frozen pizzas for $5, but I do not recommend you try one. It looked like the frozen pizzas at the dollar store and the bartender confirmed that is what they were. I came back a second time, but didn't stay. the vibe seemed different. I am sure I will end up here again though, as WB bars are good spots to close out a night. If you're looking for a place to drink at all hours of the day or night, give the Naughty Knight a try.

Our final stop on the Party Bus wank tour and really it's pretty sketchy. Loved the sign that said "don't hustle the paying customers." Did not love the drink I received. I have no idea what I ended up with but decided that it was a sign that I shouldn't drink. A friend who lives nearby says the parking lot is packed between 5 and 8 am so that maybe the most interesting time to go.

Ever have a Naughty Knight? I did... last night, all thanks to our fabulous bunch of NOLA yelpers and a Wank bar crawl. This is a straight-up drinker's bar. Booze is cheap (4.25 for a Ketel One...not during any kind of happy hour... not sure if they have them in here Suck it, wannabe "dive bars"), and even if your bartendress doesn't remember prices of things (that's what the register keys are for... seriously), she's on top of things, including your empty glass. There's what you expect: video poker games line the walls, bright lights around a pool table no one seems to use, half destroyed drop ceilings in the bathroom (the ladies room is shockingly clean) and if you're prone to bouts of acute suicidal ideation, you'd do best to avoid the Naughty Knight (especially, dear god, at the horrifying hours between 7 and noon), otherwise if you're with a lively group of people as I was, it's a fun stop.

Aaaaahhh yeah. Put your dive bar boots on. Only for the hard-core. I went in here; they were real banged up. Everybody smokin. This is a true, sincere, down-dirty dive bar. Very, very sirious.

I've driven past this place many times when working on the Wank and I always thought it was a place I would never venture into. Well during a recent Yelp bar tour I finally expanded my possibilities and dove right into the naughtiness of the Knight. For some reason I had always had the impression that this was some type of strip club but it is actually just a crazy bar that has been trapped in time since the 70's. I was a bit unhappy with the selection of beer as they didn't have any local Louisiana beers or special beers at all beyond Bud, Miller, and Coors products. Other than our group there only seemed to be about three other people in the whole place. Service was very slow as the grandma bar lady was pretty tipsy and took awhile to get to you. I'm glad I now know what Naughty Knight is but I don't think I will ever have much motivation to return unless it is with another crazy group. If they still had disco here that would be a different matter entirely.
