What a total gem - we spent a fantastic weekend away with all the comforts of home and then some!...and you'd better believe we'll be back! The Innkeepers are just delightful - genuinely interested in providing superior service without the supercilious attitude to go with it - just the sort of hip and classy folks you dream of rubbing shoulders with on an idyllic Louisville vacation! Going the extra mile and playing full out is just who they are. Their story of restoring and furnishing the home with the most impeccable and artistic attention to detail (right down to the adorable kitty named Julep) - it's truly a work of art and completely inspiring! The gourmet farm to table fare with special accommodations for dietary restrictions was beyond fabulous, too! We felt completely pampered and cared for like family. With my mother-in-law having sold the family home, Tucker House may well become our family's new home base when we travel back to Louisville because it reminds us so much of her style, there's room for all of us, you can't beat the room rates...but, most of all you just feel like family when you're there. Don't be surprised if you find that you never want to leave! Whether you are chilling out in one of the stately guest rooms, cozied up in the most charming of common areas, or drinking in the breathtaking views from one of the numerous and grand outdoor spaces, you'll feel yourself mellow out and find new clarity in the opportunity to be present and one with your surroundings. So much for keeping it our little secret, huh?! . Better call now about our next stay before its booked solid! .

Devona and Steve were fabulous hosts for the week my husband and I visited Louisville in May 2015. Our breakfasts each morning were delicious and filling, and our hosts provided us with excellent recommendations for how to fill our time while visiting. We were close enough to the highway to have easy access when we went out on the town each day, but far enough away that we were also able to enjoy quiet evenings on the patio.

This is what you want when you stay at a bed & breakfast. Beautiful historic home decorated so very tastefully in period pieces but with all the creature comforts you could want in the 21st century. Wonderfully friendly inn keepers, immaculately clean rooms and bathroom, super comfy bed, lots of attention to details and oh the food! I stayed in the Presidential Chamber and it was lovely. This is one of the nicest more enjoyable B&B visits I've ever had. It's so great to have your expectations exceeded! Highly recommend he 1849 Tucker House.

My husband and I stayed at Tucker House for five nights in August 2013 for my sister's wedding, which was held on the grounds. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and were very sad to leave. The house and grounds were enchanting, the breakfasts delicious, and the hospitality world-class. My family reserved all of four rooms for Friday and Saturday during the wedding weekend and I can say that each was thoroughly charming and unique. My sisters and I each thought our room was the best! My husband and I stayed in the Traveler's Room. The bed was very comfortable and there room had a big dresser and generous closet space. With it's own entrance off the back of the house, the room afforded a little more privacy than the others but the wrap-around deck meant we were only steps from the common room and the other bedrooms. We could not have asked for more generous hosts - warm, thoughtful, and incredibly understanding during a slightly chaotic wedding weekend. Even though our flight arrived late, Steve was there to greet us, help with our bags, and show us to our room. We met Devona at breakfast the next morning and it was love at first bite! Every breakfast was a wonderful surprise that included fresh fruit, a different egg dish (omelets, frittatas, scrambles, benedict, etc.), bacon, and some fresh-baked tasty treat (my favorite were the cherry almond scones). Devona also accommodated the different dietary restrictions of our group - gluten free, vegetarian, and religious. During our stay, Steve and Devona went out of their way to make sure that we had everything we needed and generally went above and beyond the call of duty to indulge every wedding whim. Devona was even thoughtful enough to ask about my sister's floral arrangements for the wedding so that she could make sure the house flowers matched. She also tidied the bride and groom's room during the reception so that the newlyweds would retire to tranquility (rather than the bedlam left by a bride, five attendants, and a flower girl preparing for the ceremony). We could not have asked for better hosts. If you have the opportunity to stay here you, treat yourself. You won't be sorry!

The house is wonderfully gorgeous. HOWEVER, the lady who runs it is not as nice as the house. I did not stay here, I was a photographer shooting a wedding party who did stay here. While we were shooting, the man who (I'm assuming) also ran the b&b asked for a car to be moved so as not to get ruts in the grass. The bride and bridesmaids were not there when this was asked. Regardless, someone left immediately to move the car they believed was in question. About a half hour later, the lady came into the room where the wedding party was and YELLED at the wedding party, snapping that they had already been asked once to move the car, and that she didn't know what was so hard about that. There was no car in the grass, which was the original worry, and one car had already been moved. They had not been specific at all in their request and then punished the wedding party. You DO NOT treat a wedding party like that. Especially when you are in the wrong. They did what they were told. Whatever happened to customer service?! Sheesh.
