Everything I've had here has been outstanding. Sandwiches, salads and daily specials all great. The desserts are especially good. Always a big selection too. Try it, you won't be sorry.
The Chumbo is great and the Chili Dog is great. So.. The Chumbo Dog was just born. The Thursday before Derby is now National Chumbo Dog Day.
Love the food, the best kept secret in St Matthews. I eat here at least twice a week and it gets better every trip. Staff is very friendly.

Desserts By Helen

3500 Frankfort Ave
Louisville, 40207
Reviews:
Desserts by Helen is a sweet slice of Paris located conveniently on the Ave. Everything from the blue hue of the facade, to the swirly script of the bakery's name, to the large picture windows made me feel like I was approaching a Patisserie in the city of Lights. Speaking of European delicacies, this place does a great job of executing those. In high school the French club got a "Buche de Noel" here, and not only did it look exquisite, I remember it tasting amazing. My new favorite at this location are the sand dollar cookies. They're just 75 cents apiece, and are freshly-baked, soft sugar cookies with a fresh seasonal jam inside of them. The first time I got them I bought only one as an afternoon sugar fix, finished it before I got to my car, then turned back around to buy two more (to share, of course . . . with three friends I like to call me, myself, and I). I'll definitely be back, maybe next time with a little coffee and a book to enjoy in the sitting area they have set aside near the front of the shop. So what do you say? Will I see you there soon?

Auntie Anne's cinnamon sugar pretzels are amazing!!! They are warm and they dip them in hot butter and then smother them in cinnamon sugar! And even though I'm sure they are not good for you they taste so good it's worth it! I went to the location by Dillards in mall Saint Matthews but they have another location in the food court. Service was fast!
Almond pretzel, caramel dipping sauce, heaven...

Decided to try the Rubbies cuisine and we weren't disappointed. My bourbon glazed steak was cooked to perfection, my husbands ribeye as well. Our kids enjoyed a hot dog and bbq sandwich and they cleared their plates. Decent prices, wonderful food, and Ice cold beer!

Accidentally found this place when I was in Louisville from out of town. Best mistake of the trip. Everyone was super cool, even inviting me to hang out with them outside while they drank and played music. No pretension, no elitist BS. A nice break from the LA bars I'm used to. A++ WOULD BUY FROM AGAIN!

It's a McDonalds so food is what you expect. However the people that work here (at least during the lunch shift) are genuinely friendly and courteous. Very fast service also.

White Castle

Reviews:
day 37 of my trip i had something called, the white castle. the name alone scared me. why would i want to go, let alone eat, at a place called white castle in the heart of kentucky when the imperial wizard lives here??? but the burgers are so small and cute, what harm could it do... so i got me a bag of 10 burgers. each one small, cute sized, with special sauce. out of all the burger joints in the us, white castle uses the finest quality meat. crazy... its actually really good. so are their chicken rings. instead of onions is chicken. crazy... i made a hillbilly friend there. he let me stay at his place in exchange for a pack of gum and some chew. oh yeah and some jim beam. crazy... i also met kentucky women. they eyed me with the bag of burgers. ky girl: did you bring me lunch? moi: yes. ky girl: what is it? moi: 10 white castle burgers. but you can only have it after i am done. ky girl: so i can have the empty bag? moi: yes. ky girl: you silly hillbilly jim: now what's this you was saying about yelp? moi: its a website. hillbilly jim: yeah i think i've seen it. can you use it to get p*ssy? moi: sure. yelp is like a pencil. you can use it to write a letter or you can write an sos to the world. hillbilly jim: you talk funny. ky girl: i think he talks cute. moi: crazy...
