The pizza is good but I think the sandwiches are even better. The service can be spotty, which is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5, but even the half sandwiches and single slices are huge, and the slices of the day are pretty creative. I think the last one I had was banana peppers and bacon. This place is definitely worth a visit.

My fiance and I finally got to try The Post yesterday for lunch and it was pretty darn good! We started with the cheese bread and although we ordered a small, it was still a good 12" but it was so good (cheesy and herby without being overly greasy) that I'm glad we had leftovers to take home! For our pizza we got the 16" Firestarter with giardiniera veggies (beware, it has olives on it - I had to pick mine off!) and it was delicious. It wasn't really hot in the traditional sense of the word, it was more like a slow burn that lasted for a bit. We had a ton to take home - these pizza slices are big ya'll! We will definitely be back, the "hipster" atmosphere and insane amounts of beer on tap warrants another visit!

I'm only giving it a 3 compared to other pizza places around. I had the Italian Campaign, which to be fair is simply a margherita pizza. The crust was really good but I was underwhelmed by their sauce. In a pizza that does not have a lot of cheese, this mild, mild sauce left me wanting more. There was good flavor added with basil but not quite enough for my take. I'd definitely love to try another type of pizza that had more of their excellent looking toppings. The staff was friendly and the inside has a very good vibe.

Disclaimer- I love all things Germantown, so it's no surprise this pizza place is getting kudos from me! My mom and I went to The Post around 1:30 on a Saturday. I heard they were usually packed and there was almost always a wait, so we were happy to get seated right away. We wanted to share a salad, cheese sticks and a pizza. Our server (who was great, by the way) told me he'd put in the order for the salad and the cheese sticks and check back to see if we still wanted a pizza. He said that because their spinach salad was ENORMOUS! I have never seen such a big salad, and I eat salad everywhere! We loved the mushrooms, carrots and cheese on the fresh spinach leaves. It's easily enough for three people to share. The cheese sticks were delicious too! The prices were great and I will be back to try one of their huge pizzas!

Best pizza in Louisville hands down. Amazing craft beer selection. Service can be slow on major hour, have never had a problem with it during the lunch hours.

V Not sure what's happening at the ol' post to get people so riled up but here's a review from a first timer. Atmosphere: Packed and loud as hell. They had a dj there giving away tickets to The Pixies so it makes sense. Trendy young people, looking all cool and such. The place is decorated well with an old fashioned feel. Food: Pizza/bar grub. How many pizza places do we have in town now? I tried a pesto cheese special at $4....but not that impressed. It was so packed I couldn't really make it to the bar to order anything else. Libations: The usual draft, some local brews and a full bar. Average price range of $3-6 depending on the selection. The Overall: Not sure what the fuss is about. This place is small and the food is average and expensive. Sorry guys. I'm glad you're doing good but I'm not sold yet. I'll have to try some more stuff and get back to you.

Our first time at The Post tonight with a group of friends. What an amazing surprise it was!! Very casual and clean place. Extensive beer list. Outside seating on the patio. Great selection of salads and subs. The breadsticks were fantastic. Served warm w marinara. The cheese bread was out of this world. Full of butter and cheese. Pizza by the slice or a variety of pizzas to choose from of an interesting variety or make your own. Crust was delicious. Crunchy yet chewy. They used light amount of corn meal so crust was not soggy. I think the best pizza I've eaten in Louisville. All around fantastic experience. Can't wait to go again. Ps ingredients on pizza were fresh!!

This was my first time at the Post. I love New York style pizza and I have no complaints about the Post! We ordered a white sauce based pizza and it had plenty of spinach, red pepper, and cheese on it. The 12 inch was perfect to split between the two of us, giving us 3 slices each. I will definitely come back to the Post!

Ah, I really chose the right time to move into Germantown.. New businesses popping up everywhere within walking distance (drinking and not driving ftw!) and always something to do when you have company over. For me, one of these things will surely be heading to the post. It's pretty crowded at peak hours (well, duh) but if you get there before the crowds hit the patio is a chill spot. I've only been once so far but I'm planning on going again this weekend (and many weekends after that) but service was fast & friendly, the beer selection was good, and the pizza was awesome. We had the army brat- so think bratwurst, sauerkraut, cheeeese etc with an olive oil base but what really stood out was the crust. It's actually really easy to make not-so-good crust and the pizza still be okay (you know what they say about bad pizza.. It's still pretty good) but their crust was GOOD. Like, really good. Light, crispy, substantial. I can't wait to ~walk~ up there again this weekend and get a little more well acquainted with the menu.

Best pizza I have ever had in Louisville hands down. I love the other local joints but this really raises the bar. We enjoyed a Caprese salad and The Riveter pizza. The crust was perfectly crisp and flavorful. The meatballs are amazing. I have to get a meatball sub here next time. Great beer list. Best of all --its in Germantown

Started with the breadsticks as I usually see this as a good indicator of what the pizza crust will be like. Was not disappointed. My pizza came...... In a word WOW. Good stuff, highly recommend.

This place offers a very good value. It is extremely clean. We also think it is kid friendly. On a scorching hot day it is also very cool inside. Quick attentive service! We totally recommend this place.

My boyfriend and I visited for the first time last night---WOW! is all I could say!! I was going to get some pizza, but decided on the 1/2 reuban sandwich at ceasar salad at the last minute. It was far and beyond the best reuban I've ever had. The corned beef was super lean and there was a TON of it. The bread was a little tough to eat, mostly because the sadnwich itself was enormous and the bread was nice and cripsy, but I was able to eat half last night and the other half for lunch this morning. He got the veggie sub, which was also enormous and equally delcious. My BF and I split a slice of the pepperoni pizza as well, it too was mouth-watering good! I highly recommend this place for a casual date night, watching the game with friends, family pizza night, pretty much anything!

Great pizza! My party of four stopped in on a Sunday and were blown away by the amount of good food you get for your money. Our bill ended up being $25, but for that amount we were able to order a small pizza for 3 (we got the South Pacific: pineapple, ham, red pepper, bacon, onion, and a sweet chili drizzle), a HUGE order of bread sticks, and the picky eater of our group got a giant pepperoni slice. It was almost as big as our small pizza! The atmosphere/decor creates a unique and fun "army post". Our service was good, although we came on a Sunday in the early afternoon and there were only a few other people, but we were not kept waiting. Recommended if you want to get outside the box of chain pizza.

Tonight was my first time dining at The Post. Some others said it was hard to find, and I would agree with that. If you aren't familiar with Goss Ave, it may be difficult to locate. If you know the area just look for Yesternook (also a great place to check out). I got there around 5:30 on a Friday, so we barely missed the crowd. It was still happy hour so the beer was still $2 [I just had a Miller Lite, so I'm not sure what the deals on other drafts were]. Everything on the menu looked delicious. We decided on the pesto bread for an appetizer, and it did not disappoint. It was a fun alternative to the normal garlic-y, cheesy bread most pizza places have. I tried the slice of the day, which was Chicken, Broccoli, & Cheddar. Also delicious. They are advertised as a New York style pizza restaurant, so I was expecting pretty thin crust. The crust was not very "New York" style, but it was good nonetheless. For only $9 (before tip) I was able to have a full dinner. I will definitely be returning to check out the other items on the menu!

Exceptionally attentive service, excellent beer selection, and some really tasty pizza. The cheesebread rivals Impellizeri's, which is saying something. The buffalo chicken pizza was the perfect blend of spicy and cheesy. They have Oberon on draft. I can't ask for more.

We took down the pesto bread and the lone wolf pizza. The pesto bread was a nice change to cheese bread. The lone wolf pizza was an "everything supreme" pizza that hit every pizza craving you could possibly have. They have numerous different drafts on tap, I tried Zombie Dust, great brewski! This place throws more quality ingredients and adds a twist to pizza to broaden you're cravings.

New York style pizza is my favorite, and this is probably the best in town! And the pesto bread was delicious

Went there last night for the first time, date night, very nice open floor plan. I had a cocktail and my husband had a beer, both were very good. The pizza was fantastic, given the amount of pizza in this town it's hard to set yourself apart, but they have. The crust was awesome, as well as the toppings you can tell are very good quality. I can't wait to go back!!

the pizza is majorly terrific. We love the rust with the corn meal at the bottom, always a tasty pie. Appreciated the toppings and variety, love the salads etc. It's a really fun place to go - good beer choices too - good craft beers available. Our kiddo loved the GIANT cheese slice - perfect for kids. The folks that work there are always so nice.

I visited on a monday night. The beer list was nice with lots of different types of brew. We ordered the cheese sticks and they came out within 10 minutes piping hot with a terrific marinara. We barely got thru two sticks each when our White Flag 12' pie came out. The roasted red peppers were literally the best I have ever had. The blobs of ricotta cheese on the pizza were toasty and like little clouds. It was an awesome pairing with the county boy cougar bait beer. Thanks Post staff! You guys were attentive and knowledgeable. Will be back!!

Great craft beer selection, good service, outstanding New York style pizza, and quite a lively atmosphere. The best pizza I've had in Louisville! I'm glad to live within walking distance, and I will definitely be back.

This is the hot new place in town and it was packed when we went on Saturday at 8:00. We waited at the bar for 25 minutes and had a drink before being seated. Our server Rose was very attentive and very sweet even in the hectic atmosphere. The pizza was delicious. I want to go back and try a sub sandwich. Only complaint, I heard from my Aunt, was that the type on the menu was too small and hard to read, but she probably just didn't want to get out her readers!

...where there was nature and earth, life and water, I saw a desert landscape that was unending, resembling some sort of crater, so devoid of reason and light and spirit that the mind could not grasp it on any sort of conscious level and if you came close the mind would reel backward, unable to take it in. It was a vision so clear and real and vital to me that in its purity it was almost abstract. This was what I could understand, this was how I lived my life, what I constructed my movement around, how I dealt with the tangible. This was the geography around which my reality revolved: it did not occur to me, ever, that people were good or that a man was capable of change or that the world could be a better place through one's taking pleasure in a feeling or a look or a gesture, of receiving another person's love or kindness. Nothing was affirmative, the term "generosity of spirit" applied to nothing, was a cliché, was some kind of bad joke. Sex is mathematics. Individuality no longer an issue. What does intelligence signify? Define reason. Desire -- meaningless. Intellect is not a cure. Justice is dead. Fear, recrimination, innocence, sympathy, guilt, waste, failure, grief, were things, emotions, that no one really felt anymore. Reflection is useless, the world is senseless. Evil is its only permanence. God is not alive. Love cannot be trusted. Surface, surface, surface was all that anyone found meaning in... this was civilization as I saw it, colossal and jagged... and now? Now I've turned around. Now I've found salvation. Redemption. A new life? New meaning?! Perhaps. This is my now and it's all because of The Post. The Post and its pizza have saved my life from the wicked dream that had seized it. You need to try it. Walk in. Sit down. Have a slice. This isn't just pizza. This is your deliverance. May God be with you and your families. Truly.

Great new Germantown pizza joint. Good New York style pizza, large craft tap list (also have a full bar), and amazing service. The food was a little slow to come out, but all in all a good experience.

As someone who used to walk around NYC and eat pizza like my life depended on it, let me say this: it's the best NYC-style slice I've had outside of the city. Anyone who says otherwise is certifiably insane.

We went for dinner last night for the first time and had a great experience with the food. We tried the riveter pizza with meatballs, banana peppers and provolone cheese which was very good. The crust was chewy like a New York style crust with a good amount of toppings and cheese. The beer was very cold as well with a good selection. The only thing that was disappointing was the boneless chicken wings. They seem like a inexpensive, frozen product that wasn't very quality. Our service was okay but not very attentive. Overall it was a great experience though because of the food and drink and we will definitely be back.

Being from Chicago, I'm very picky about pizza. This place has one of the best pizzas I've ever experienced. That's right, it's truly an experience! The Army Bait is an olive oil based pie with bratwurst, sauerkraut, cheddar cheese, jalapeños and spicy brown mustard drizzle! It is legendary, I urge everyone to dabble. 5 stars to the owners!

After several attempts to try out The Post back when it opened, I finally managed to get over there for a meal. Boy, was I happy that I did! I've been following the restaurant on Facebook for a while which allows me to see the special slice of the day and gives me updates on other daily specials. FB told me that on that night they were extending happy hour prices for the duration of the UofL game. They had numerous beers and a cider on tap as well as bottles and wine. I opted for a pint of Angry Orchard (only $5) and my friend went with a Pinot Grigio (also just five bucks). Being ravenous, I started out with a small, house salad. Nothing about this salad was small, a heaping pile of mixed greens with onion, tomato, shredded cheese, and homemade croutons overflowed from the bowl. The Post makes several of salad dressings in-house including a chunky, blue cheese and ranch. I tried the blue cheese, which had a nice spicy edge to it. Being a dressing junkie, I also asked for the ranch. It was wonderfully creamy with the perfect blend of seasoning. I had seen on FB that the slice of the day was artichoke, spinach, and red onion on a garlic and olive oil base -yum! My friend and I both ordered a slice. It came out on a pizza tray and was bigger than my purse, no joke. In fact, it was too large for the traditional fold and eat method. I had to resort to cutting it down a bit before I could wrangle it with two hands. What a bargain at $4! Do yourself a favor and go to The Post ASAP! Everything I saw served around me looked and smelled amazing with prices low enough to accommodate a working family or a group of hungry students. I'll definitely be back soon.

This little restaurant totally took our group by surprise. We heard good thing but it was sooo much better than even the best recommendation. Everything was amazingly delicious and fresh. Unique pizzas, just as unique homemade dressings that are a complete rush to the taste buds! What a treat! Ana went above and beyond to serve all 15 of us with a smile. We never wanted for a thing!! A BIG THANK YOU to owner and staff FROM THE NORCAL NAZARENE DISTRICT YOUTH!

I've been wanting to eat here since I heard of their opening but I was having trouble convincing my girlfriend that it would be a good choice. Finally, I get her to agree to get a carryout order. I call them up and I was greeted with a very nice worker who helped out quite a bit. I ordered at giant slice of pepperoni and two drinks. The worker told me to make sure that the bartender knew that I had ordered the two cokes because he wouldn't be able to see that on the order. So I made my way to Goss Ave. When I arrived, almost immediately, a waiter complimented me on my Chance the Rapper concert T-shirt. I was starting to think that this place would be a regular spot for me. I walk up to a rather busy bar and figured I would sit back and relax for a minute to let the bartender get caught up. I decided while sitting there that I would add another slice to the order for a leftover meal the next day. Instead, the bartender runs over in an annoyed way, and says "What do you need?". I told him I had an order for "Cory" and he went to run off. I let him know that I was told to tell him I had two drinks. Before I could add that I wanted another slice, the guy says "WHAT" shaking his head like I was a dumb ass. I was kind of confused as to if he was asking what I said or what I wanted so I repeated myself. He looked at me again like I was stupid and said "WHAT DRINK"... Now... I'm a patient man. I work in customer service so I can take a verbal beating and smile. But I was so shocked as to how this douche worked in a sea of polite people that I was kind of taken back. I paused and stared at him and said "Mello Yello" and he walked off. I immediately walked out after that. I could understand that he had a busy bar full of needy customers and maybe he was stressed out. But dude, I didn't even put a sense of urgency in my presence. I'm a firm believer in only doing reviews for restaurants that I actually ate with, but this time I feel it necessary to share my story. I had honestly been excited for my experience here for months now and all of the other workers were helping my excitement shape into a great experience, only for it to be shot down and send me somewhere else. I'll be back but first impressions are pretty damn important, especially when it's a local business in their first year. I really wish I had dealt with anyone else.

I had never heard of this place before some friends in the neighborhood suggested it. Woo, boy, am I glad they did. This might well become my new favorite spot in the city, both for lunch and dinner. Our party of six started the evening with two orders of the pesto bread. It's made from the sandwich bread and not the pizza dough and it's absolutely delicious. In fact, it could be a meal on its own. We tried the caprese salad, which was also delicious and could be a meal on its own. We ordered the 20" Allies and the 12" victory garden. The crust is perfect - thin and crispy enough to hold up under the weight of the toppings. My advice is to remember that your eyes are probably bigger than your stomach and to order a size smaller than you think you'll need unless you want a ton of leftovers. We had a lot to take home but, as with most pizza, it reheated well. I have only a few criticisms, which take my rating from five to four stars. First, the acoustics are terrible, so the the indoor dining room is incredibly loud, so much so that we could barely carry on a conversation. Second, there's no dessert. You might be asking how I could think about dessert after all the food mentioned above, but I have a sweet tooth that comes out after most meals and this place left me hanging. With some acoustic enhancements and a little post-meal sugar, my rating will go to 5+.

Tried this fairly new pizzeria/bar in the heart of Germantown (Goss Ave) today and was pleasantly surprised. Small place with some indoor seating and a nice outdoor seating area with tables /umbrellas. Their specialty seems to be the pizza! Delicious, NY style slices.....cooked to perfection. They offer specialty pizzas, calzones, subs, salads, sides, decent selection of drinks/alcohol, and giant slices sold by the slice. The pizza is great. Thin, crisp crust. Good tomato sauce and the right amount of cheese. Closed Tuesday and open mon, wed-Sun 11am-2am. No delivery. Give this place a try. I'll be going back to sample more of their delicious food.

This place is just average in taste, but staff was friendly and the place was clean. It is obvious the pizza isn't fresh baked as we ordered and literally had our pizza in two minutes.... It is not bad, but is more of a fast food style pizza. It is certainly a good value just do not expect homemade pizza that will stand out.

2.5 stars First off, the service: some of the worst service I have ever experienced. I came here by myself, since I was just travelling through town. I think I was checked on once by my waitress in the hour I was there. It took about 20 minutes for me to receive my giant specialty slice, and probably ten minutes to get a second beer. Took about another ten minutes to process my check. The restaurant was not particularly packed at the time, yet not a single one of he staff members were friendly. The food was good, but I've had bigger and better "giant" slices of pizza (check out Benny's if you're in Virginia). Only redeeming quality was that the pizza and beers were cheap.

  • Philip H.

The pizza is good... Not great. They do slices which is good but their insistence on only having pepperoni, cheese or the special slice of the day is limiting. The sandwiches are great and it's a good deal to split because they're huge! To be honest the best things about this place are the beer, the location and the crowd. It's great to have such a great place to hang out. The Post is great for a meal but don't hesitate to just stop by for a few cold ones.

I have had the chance to eat here twice now and am an official fan of The Post. A good addition to the Germantown neighborhood. I like that they have the option to just have a slice if you aren't in it for a whole pie. The slice of the day feature is pretty awesome too! My first visit it was roasted red pepper and pesto and the next visit it was a meatball special. I must say that the pizza crust is a perfect crunchy yet chewy dough that holds up nicely. :) I have also tried the breadsticks, which are yummy and they give you a huge portion! The house salad is a nice helping of field greens with some tomato slices, onions, croutons and mozzarella cheese. I was glad they chose to nix the iceberg for their house salad (lots of pizza joints are guilty of lame house salads). They have a fairly impressive beer list which features some local/regional picks. The decor at The Post feels fun too. Not overly done, just enough to show an artistic side that works well in the space. Another bonus to this well rounded pizza joint is that they have a parking lot! So, if you are one of those who hate parallel parking...you are in for a treat! Go support this local business soon. Just remember they are closed on Tuesdays.

"This is some really tasty paper." As a native Chicagoan I don't think I'll ever truly be able to enjoy a New York Style pizza, no matter how badly I want to. Intense pizza-bias aside, The Post is a nice addition to the Germantown neighborhood. We ordered The White Flag pizza, which I thought had very good flavor pairings. The slight peppery-sweetness of the basil and red pepper contrasted well with the creamy tang of the ricotta, while the red onions and garlic olive oil gave the pizza an earthy, grounded quality. The Post also has a good selection of draft beers and a great laid-back atmosphere. It even has lot parking and a patio! The service was very good, everyone there was incredibly friendly and helpful. One 16" pizza and 2 beers came to $40 with a tip.

Great Pizza Joint! The place is small but has a great decor and atmophere. Pizza and salads are great and is a great price. The pizza has a great flavor that sets it apart from your typical cheese pizza. You can also buy by the slice and get a giant new york style slice that is the size of a kid's pizza.

The Post is a nice addition to the already busy pizza market here in Louisville and more specifically Getmantown! We had a little bit of a wait for a table and once we were seated we had to wait quite a bit for our food to arrive but once it did it was awesome! I love big foldable slices of pizza and that's exactly what you will find at the post! We also started with the garlic bread sticks for an appetizer and while they were good they were a tad on the crispy side. I'm looking forward to going back for round two and trying out one of their specialty pies!

The food here is awesome! Great great pizza, breadsticks, boozes and beer. Do ya self a favor, get your ass over here and eat a pizza. Atmosphere is great and the staff is awesome too. Emily and Megan were more than welcoming and took great care of my wife and I! Best pizza in town!

FINALLY! I've been wanting to grab a "slice of the day" for lunch for quite sometime, but for some reason I have only thought about it on Tuesdays. That poses a problem because The Post is closed on Tuesday. This week, I finally had the craving on a Monday. I called first to see what their slice of the day was and it was a jalapeno bacon pizza. BINGO! I headed down there around 11:20 am since I have read on a lot of the reviews that they usually have a crowd. There weren't many people there and I got the slice within about 5 minutes and headed back to work. The slice is just in between two paper plates in a paper bag so it can get messy and leak through the bag so be careful if you get carryout. That's my only complaint though. The pizza slice was phenomenal and also as big as my head. You would never need more than one slice of pizza from there. And for only $4, you can't beat it.

I've been to the Post a dozen times or so. Never once have I regretted it. Good food, strong beer selection and above average service. The Calzone is simply the best I've ever had and it should be criminalized to not have an order of their Pesto bread on each visit.

I don't know what it is, but this place has the best pizza sauce around. It is sweet and spicy. The slices are ridiculous size. Their daily special slices have never disappointed. Plus, they are open late. I want to go right now..

Hot browns might be Louisville's signature dish, but really, our signature dish should probably be the cheesy, gooey pizza. There aren't many areas you can go in town where a few pizzerias aren't in arms' reach. But The Post Pub has found one of those areas: the main drag of Germantown. And I foresee packed crowds in its future. The Post Pub opened this week; I couldn't wait to try it. First tip, though: It's a bit hidden. We passed it twice before seeing it. So before you head out, know that it's tucked between Yesternook and Four Pegs. The Post Pub is in an old VFW post -- hence it's name. And a WW2 theme runs throughout the restaurant, from the logo to the decor to the pizza names (i.e. The Riveter, The Italian Campaign, The Spitfire). I was really impressed with their attention to detail with this. More about the food: We started with the pesto bread, a slightly different take on the typical cheese-y bread appetizer. This appetizer was full of flavor, especially with the tomato dipping sauce. My boyfriend commented that it tasted like concentrated sun-dried tomatoes. And then for our pizza we chose The White Flag, which has a garlic olive oil base with red onion, spinach, roasted red pepper, ricotta and basil. It seems like some pizzerias don't put much effort into their cheese pizza. They know that they have to offer a cheese pizza, so they just use the same base they use for their other pizzas, sans toppings. This is a great take on a cheese or white pizza. We usually get some protein on our pizza, but this was a pizza that could stand on its own without it. I don't know if it's New York-style pizza, though, as The Post Pub advertises its pizzas to be. To me, New York-style means very thin, crispy crust and slices so large they can be folded in half. Usually, these pizzerias have a few staple pizzas and then the option to add some of your own toppings. The Post Pub does offer pizza by the slice, but their pizza reminded me more of the slices you'd find at BoomBozz or Wick's, with great topping combos and more typical sized slices. And really, this didn't bother me. I really like that style of pizza and inventive toppings. But it's good to know, in case authentic New York-style pizza is what you're hoping for. The Post Pub also has a lengthy list of beer, which tended to skew IPA. It has a patio, too, that will be great when the weather turns warmer. All in all, a great neighborhood spot that I very much look forward to going back to.

people that do not love the post must actually be insane. yes it's loud and busy and maybe dark or not perfection but IT IS PIZZA. and it is basically all i ever want. my boyfriend and i pretend we want to eat other places, but we are only lying to ourselves. we always agree on the post. get the pepperoni. i do not care about pepperoni pizza in general, but this is the thing to get. i have liked every other slice i've gotten, but i also secretly wish it was the perfection that is pepperoni. also, don't order a slice. get a whole pizza and take it home. it's more cost effective and belly effective. YUM.

Holy Cow! Where to Begin? The Pizza will eradicate your most depressing case of the Mondays, any day! With a friendly and thoughtful staff, this has to be one of my favorite Germantown visits, and that Parking lot! Just perfect. Yesternook's is too big, the quicky mart across the way is too small, but you The Post has got it figured out! Look out Germantown and Goss Ave, Pizza first, then free parking the whole night! Best thing about it! That and the domestics!!

Southern NJ is known for a lot of different things, some good (beautiful beaches, boardwalks, Atlantic City) and some bad (fist pumping, traffic, Atlantic City). But being from the area, I know one thing that South Jersey does better than anyone: pizza and subs. I grew up in Brigantine, NJ, a 7 mile long island that had 7 pizza places when I was a kid (and 2 WaWas to boot). I moved from home 8 years ago and have always searched for a pizza that could even come close to the thin but pliable, crispy but chewable, perfect ratio of toppings and cooked just right slice-by-slice heavenly pizza of my youth. Yesterday I finally found it at The Post. My wife was in the mood for pizza and I had heard good things about The Post so we took the short drive over for an early dinner. Knowing this was an old VFW post I didn't expect much in terms of atmosphere but they really nailed it. This place looks awesome from the sheet metal exterior and painted signage outside to the exposed rafters and club-like atmosphere inside. They really brought a unique identity to this place and drove it home with an awesome porch out front. The menu is military themed (the spitfire, army brat, riveter) and is pretty much all about pizza and sandwiches with some salads and starters on the side. I will not talk about sandwiches any more in this review, I am sure they are good but I haven't been looking for an awesome sandwich for 8 years. We ordered their take on a hawaii'n pizza and a giant slice of plain pizza to split. The service was speedy and attentive and the pizza came out hot and fresh 20 minutes later. When it came out I knew I had finally gotten what I wanted. The plain slice was giant, cooked perfect and tasted just like a big ol slice from Mack n Manco's on the Ocean City boardwalk. I wish it had just a bit more sauce but with a giant slice you need to sacrifice sauce for size or things get crazy pretty quick. The Hawaii'n pizza was a garlic and olive oil base (no red sauce) and again was cooked perfect, with a lightly browned, crackly crust that gave a little crunch but was chewy at the same time. The pineapple, gooey cheese and ham (there were other toppings but it was so good I kinda blacked out) balance each other out with the garlic oil and crust. This is pizza perfection through and through. This type of pizza isn't for everyone, some people like big doughy crust or pizza piled high with handfuls of thoughtless toppings (who are you people?) that can be found at some (read: most) Louisville establishments. But if you want east coast style pizza that with each bite will transport you to the Wildwood, NJ boardwalk in front of Morey's Pier while a 50ft trolley that continuously plays a pre-recorded "WATCH THE TRAM CAR PLEASE" rolls past you...then The Post is the place. Seriously though, the pizza is awesome.

I live right around the corner so I visit this place often. Yesterday was the first time I ordered carry-out so I thought I should update this review to reflect that experience. I wasn't sure how carry-out pizza from here would turn out. It was great! I ordered a 16 inch pepperoni along with a 16 inch South Pacific pizza. The South Pacific has a garlic olive oil base, ham, bacon, pineapple, onion, roasted red peppers, & sweet chili drizzle! It might be my new favorite. The carry-out experience went well. After having the South Pacific, I don't think I'll ever order pepperoni pizza from here when I order whole pies. The slices are still huge when ordering a whole pie, but when ordering an entire pie I prefer to eat these large slices without folding them. I was full by my 2nd slice allowing me to have plenty of leftover pizza for today. I'm excited to try all of the other specialty pizzas.

3.5 stars. We ate here for family dinner on a Sunday evening, and our party of 9 was seated right away. The atmosphere is neat. The war theme is something unique to Louisville, which is cool, though I expected a bit more war-decor. They have a huge projector screen, which is awesome for watching sporting events. We came during March Madness, so we got to enjoy basketball on the big screen. The service was good. Nothing memorable, but definitely adequate. Our orders were taken and received in a timely manner, and our drinks were kept full. For the food... The appetizers were the highlight for me. We started with the pesto bread and the breadsticks. The pesto bread was my favorite; I'll probably order that for my meal in the future. The breadsticks were a large portion, and coated with delicious herbs and butter. Yum. For me, the pizza was just okay. It's New York style, which I've found to mean: huge slices, thin dough, minimal sauce and toppings, and hard crust. I like my pizza to have softer, doughy crust, and be dripping with sauce, covered with toppings, and oozing with cheese (think Impellizzeri's or Wick's). Thus, I'm not a huge fan of the New York style pizza. That's just my personal preference, so please judge for yourself. That being said, the pizza was good for what it was. We ordered a buffalo chicken pizza and a pepperoni and sausage pizza. The flavor on the buffalo chicken pizza was excellent, other than the chicken, which tasted like pre-sliced Tyson strips you can find in the freezer section. The pepperoni and sausage was good, although a little dry (remember: minimal sauce, and it didn't have the hot sauce and ranch to make up for it like the buffalo chicken pizza did). Overall, it was a good experience. I'd definitely be open to eating here again, but there are places I'd chose to go first.

Didn't even know this place existed until I got a referral. Sits right beside the 4 Pegs in Germantown The inside is comfortable , clean and inviting. The beer menu was a good one with a good deal of local selections in the mix. Had a pint with the oversize lunch special New York style pizza at a very affordable price. This place is dangerous, you might want to stay all evening !!

Wow, this is a great little Germantown spot. They offer at lot of unique pizzas, all with a WWII milarty theme. They also offer a great craft beer selection. My fiancé and I we here for lunch on a weekday, so they weren't super crowded. We got an order of cheesebread, which was very good. For our main course we got a spitfire pizza, a 16 inch on our servers suggestion. It had just the right amount of spice. This is New York style pizza, and is pretty filling. My fiancé was only able to eat one slice and I tapped out after two. We have been enjoying the leftovers the last couple days :).

I went to dinner at The Post with a group of ten, and we all greatly enjoyed it. They don't accept reservations, so if you have a large group that can be an issue. I called ahead anyway, the day before, and gave them a warning that we would be coming in. They told me over the phone that it would probably be approximately a 20 minute wait, but when we actually came in it was more like a 30-45 minute wait. We didn't mind, because we expected the wait with such a large group, and we got drinks from the bar while we waited. The only issue with waiting with such a large party is that there's not much of a waiting area in The Post. There are a few chairs next to the entrance, but that's it. There's not really room to get out of the way and on several occasions we felt like we were blocking the path of the servers, but there was no where else to go. I'm not complaining, just throwing that information out there for anyone who may be interested in going to dinner here with a group. Once we were seated our service was fantastic. Our server was very attentive and made sure that everyone had everything they needed. We all ordered drinks, salads, and we ordered four pizzas for the table. Everything was wonderful. I particularly enjoyed the Caesar salad and "the chicken dinner" pizza, which is a Buffalo chicken pizza. Honestly, I've been craving that pizza ever since, so I will definitely be going back to The Post. I highly recommend it as a casual dining spot in the Germantown area.

Because I fell that pizza should be the 6th food group, I had to try out the newest pizza place in town. I've heard so much about the place and I've been meaning to go for a while now. First let me say that I only reason I gave this place 3 stars was because of the speed of the service. I've heard from multiple people that it can be slow and sure enough it was. We started out with the pesto bread personally I could take or leave it when it comes to pesto but the Pesto bread was actually really good. It was placed inside what looked like a French roll cut in half and generously placed on top. We tried the South Pacific pizza since my go to pizza is always going to be Hawaiian style ham and pineapple. At first I was worried since the crust was darker than what I was use to in a pizza and a bit more crisp but when I bit into the slice it was more than what I expected !! Defiantly a repeat order for me The beer selection was on point with lots of craft beer on tap and a good selection in bottles. It kinda has a bar type atmosphere more than it does a pizza place with its lard bar area and counter seating. Also it has an out space that wound be the bees knees when it's warm out. Over all good place to hang with friends and have a beer with some good pizza. Just make sure to make time as it could take awhile to get it.

Pizza is a tough game, so many styles and options her in Louisville but the post delivers. I have been three times and have tried a variety of pizzas. My favorite so far has been the pacific rim, the combination of a ham and pineapple with onions, bacon, and an olive oil base was a win. I split a small with a friend and we had leftovers. I have also tried the pesto bread twice and it was great. The marinara dipping sauce was delicious. Overall the service at the post has been good but not great. I think right now they are so busy being a new restaurant that they are slightly understaffed. The waiters have also been okay but I think they are stretched thin. I think this a great addition to the city and I look forward to making this a regular dining establishment.

This is the second time I've been here, and the experience was just as good, so I wanted to write a review. The craft beer list is very diverse, so I tried three different styles. I ordered the "Lone Wolf" pizza, minus the mushrooms, and it was great! New York style slices, great sauce, and crisp crust. If you're a local, I don't know why you haven't been here yet?! If you're a visitor like myself, I suggest making this place your stop for pizza, craft beer, and a great atmosphere. Inside, or on the patio, you can't go wrong!

Pizza is so overdone in this town. Since I moved to Kentucky, I seem to find a pizza place on every corner. What's the deal? And how will I ever find the best one? After making my way around Louisville's plethora of pizza parlors (thanks El Guapo), I was introduced to The Post. The food has been excellent, and while their specialty pizzas all sound unbelievably tempting, I have found it hard to stray away from the slice of the day of which I get two, although I could probably be satisfied with just one (but let's be honest, who just gets one slice of pizza?). After two slices, some cheesy bread, and a tasty Lagunitas IPA, I'm overstuffed and incredibly happy for under $13. Verdict: The best pizza place for a cheap and delicious New York Slice, hands down. And please get the cheese bread.

For my review on The Post, please know that this is a very optimistic three star rating and I hope to soon come back with a confident four to five star rating for this trendy and hip pizza joint. As always, I like to start with the positive aspects of any restaurant. So let's begin: First and foremost they have their own parking lot, and that's pretty exciting for anyone who enjoys getting their grub on in Louisville. The redone VFW is absolutely beautiful. From the stunning multi layered open floor plan, to the simple but elegant decorations, you can't deny that the ambiance is definitely cozy and not without charm. We arrived on a weekday evening and it was busier than we expected. We were greeted by our server, Mark, who said he had had a rough day, but was still polite and attentive and even cheery. You go Mark, you little trooper you! He let us know about the slice of the day (tomato, jalapeno and bacon) and let us know where to find the draft list on the wall. The menu was really well priced and they had a wonderful selection of pies and subs. The food was served hot and fresh and I was impressed by the size of the giant slices. I love the New York style pizza, its thin and chewy in the best way and had a crispy, flaky crust. Alright, so the negatives: The absolute most disappointing thing about our visit was our appetizer. We ordered the boneless wings with hot sauce for $8.00. We were presented with about seven chunks of breaded chicken that was soggy and a small cup of hot sauce that tasted more like hot chili sauce. For that price, we were truly disappointed to receive an appetizer that was described by my partner as "comparable to a Tyson Anytizer". That's really just too bad. One aspect that I was a little saddened by was the fact that you can't get a giant slice to your exact specifications. I love this style of pizza, BUT I like it because its a perfect canvas for fresh ingredients. To only have three options for a giant slice was a pretty big let down to me. I guess I'll have to go to Spinelli's for that (NOOOOO!!!). The sauce was a bit bland and lacked spices, just a bit pasty, but I felt like it had the right amount of cheese. Last thing, I swear! I felt that the tables that we were seated at were a bit small and would absolutely not hold a large pizza, two plates and drinks. Now, I think that's just silly. Overall: I found this restaurant to be charming and with just the right amount of "Hipster Vibe". The service was pleasant and left little to be desired. Although the appetizer is not recommendable, I do suggest giving the pizza a try, as it is tasty and filling. I can't wait to try a sub here soon and update my review to something more positive.

Really enjoyed the cheese sticks and chicken dinner pizza. Chicken dinner does use buffalo chicken but it contains just enough kick to be good but not over whelming.

I've been here three times so far since it's opened. Although I've only tried the pizza by the slice I do indeed find it quite tasty and with fresh ingredients. It's so refreshing to have thin crust pizza that you don't get stuffed on by eating just two slices. Great selection on craft beers on tap, although the have full bar as well. Very accommodating and pleasant staff ( kudos to you Chelsea, you make all the difference :-) ) Decor is definitely welcoming, not a bad seat in the place to view any of the wide screen TVs . It's great to restauranteurs who take an existing building and landmark and endeavor to maintains charm an exterior to keep with the neighborhood. The Post achieves this with aplomb.

Louisville, specifically Germantown, has been needing legit late night pizza for a long long time. Perfect consistency in the crust and creative topping combos carry their menu far above other pizzerias. The vibe is warm and welcoming and the service matches the atmosphere. Great beer and liquor selections top things off. 5/5. Will be back often.

The Post has some of the best pizza especially the best New York style pizza in the city. Their individual slice of the day is cheap, reasonably priced and excellent for lunch or a late night snack post drinking and smoking weed. Excellent craft beer selection with $3.00 Bells Two Hearted Ale on Thursday nights that I especially like.

Stopped in for dinner with my wife and daughter and the food was really good but the experience could have been a little better. If you are familiar with the area it's easy to find but anyone should be able to locate it with little trouble. Building is a pretty cool with a good number of seats. We ordered the slice of the day as well as a Victory Garden both were very good. The slice of the day was very good and we all loved the Victory Garden. I would compare the crust/style to Papalinos. We were seated right away and they seemed a little busy but not overwhelmingly busy. Only complaint is it took over 45 minutes for the pizza to after we ordered. When I asked the server about the wait she said she would check and came back saying it takes about 40 minutes or more for the Victory Garden to cook. Not sure if that's true because it is not a thick pizza but if so they should let someone know when ordering or note it on the menu. Will definitely be back

    (4)
  • Kristi M.

The service was phenomenal and the pizza was outstanding. I was going to say that this fills the Papalinos void for me (since they left the neighborhood), but that doesn't do justice to The Post pizza -- it's far superior to Papalino's. So glad I found this place - can't wait to eat on the front deck this summer.

I'd give it a 3.5 if I could. There are definitely redeeming qualities about this place but a bit they can also work on. #1 the service was great, no complaints there. I like the vibe of the place, they did a good job with the decor and outdoor patio is a real plus. We ordered the margherita pizza: lots of roma tomatoes (could get higher quality ones), great!!! mozzarella cheese, and lots of basil. The crust had a nice crispy bottom, cooked just right but could use a little more flavor (thinking garlic olive oil). The sauce was the big disappointment, not sure if its homemade but definitely doesn't taste like it. The sauce was like something you would buy at a grocery store in a jar. The overall flavor of the pizza was just under whelming as compared to other NY style pizzerias. I would give this place another try, just order differently.

Delicious NY style Pizza here. I had the Army Brat which was delicious - albeit not for everyone as you probably have to enjoy Beer Brats with sauerkraut - which I ADORE - and a bit of spice (jalapeno). These ingredients I've had dreams about but this is the first time I've ever encountered them in real life. There was a bit too much spicy mustard but I just dabbed a bit off and this pie was 110% gorgeous. I tasted my wife's Italian Campaign and it was dreamy as well. They were not stingy with the fresh Basil, which I appreciate. My kiddo had a single cheese slice - which was HUGE and he (luckily) couldn't finish. I tried this plain-jane NYC pizza slice and had a Manhattan flashback - spot on. I would like to go back again and try out the thoughtful beer menu here. The waiter was accommodating and prices were fair. (Be sure and check out the curiosity shop next-door in the old Russman's Funeral Home building)

Tasty NY style pizza...not very greasy and no too much sauce. The toppings are perfectly blended so you can taste everything on the pizza. We got half lone wolf, half South Pacific. The South Pacific had an excellent sweet chili sauce on it. The crust is amazing, very crispy! Definitely a niche spot so be prepared to wait but it's certainly worth it!

Great pizza and atmosphere. Service was probably as good as it could be with how packed it was. My only recommendation would to put carry-out on someone who isn't running the bar as it can make wait times longer than necessary.

This was my first and probably last visit to The Post. I came here tonight with my partner and a friend who has been multiple times. We were in a pizza mood and decided to try it as neither myself or my partner had been. Service: Service was not great, it was obvious that the girl was new, it seemed that we were one of the very few tables that she had but she seemed very lost and awkward during orders. Our appetizers and main entrees were all fired at once and came together. I ordered sweet tea and wasn't told until the tea arrived that the only tea they served was unsweet. On frequent occasions I saw her confer with another waitress. I don't mind the girl was new but I honestly felt that she shouldn't have had so many tables and that she should have been shadowing or had someone with her or another waitress assigned to check on us through out the night too. For the entire meal we all only got two drinks. AT one point she refilled our glasses and got all three of our glasses mixed up and we got each others glasses including mixing half of a coke and half of a glass of unsweet tea. No one was helping her and when we asked another waitress for a refill she acted like it wasn't her table and no one came to give us a hand. Food: We ordered Chicken Wings (Sorry, I mean Tysons Breaded Chicken Nuggets), Pesto bread for our appetizers. For pizzas we ordered The Lone Wolf and The White Flag to split together. Again, everything all arrived at once so we were all a little annoyed by that. The Pizzas were tasty but the crust of The Lone Wolf was a bit soggy, we still enjoyed it. The White Flag was super delicious and the highlight of the meal was honestly the pesto bread. The biggest disappointment of the night was the "chicken wings". For 7.95 we received breaded chicken nuggets that I could honestly not tell the difference between them and Tyson brand frozen chicken nuggets. They were not tossed in any sauce and did not seem to be fried but appeared to be ran through the pizza oven or similar. They also included what tasted like a slightly modified franks red hot. For $10 I could have bought an entire bag, fried them at home, and made a similar sauce and had a significant amount of left overs. Ambiance: I'm not sure if it was the people or the way the building is designed but I feel they could really use some sort of sound dampening devices in the rafters of the building. The restaurant was packed tonight but the three of us at times were yelling to be heard in a normal conversation it was so loud. It was not the relaxing dinner we were planning to have with our friend we hadn't seen in a couple months. Final Thoughts: Louisville has some fine established pizza shops in town. For the price I feel this place would be a great stop for a slice of pizza for lunch, but for dinner I feel that you're better off taking your money elsewhere. After eating here tonight I wish we would have gone to anywhere else, even Blaze would have been a better experience than The Post.

The Post is a much needed addition to the Germantown neighborhood. The pizza is fantastic and boasts a flavorful crust and delicious sauce and toppings. I'm pretty delighted with the cocktails and have enjoyed this as a place to gather with friends for some drinks and a great meal. They also offer some excellent salads, breadsticks and calzones as well. The only thing I'm not a fan of is the huge projection TV in one of the rooms but this is likely a draw for some, so I just request a table in a different area when I visit. I'm really glad we finally have some good pizza in G-town!

I don't know what it is, but this place has the best pizza sauce around. It is sweet and spicy. The slices are ridiculous size. Their daily special slices have never disappointed. Plus, they are open late. I want to go right now..

Only complaint, I heard from my Aunt, was that the type on the menu was too small and hard to read, but she probably just didn't want to get out her readers!

people that do not love the post must actually be insane. yes it's loud and busy and maybe dark or not perfection but IT IS PIZZA. and it is basically all i ever want. my boyfriend and i pretend we want to eat other places, but we are only lying to ourselves. we always agree on the post. get the pepperoni. i do not care about pepperoni pizza in general, but this is the thing to get. i have liked every other slice i've gotten, but i also secretly wish it was the perfection that is pepperoni. also, don't order a slice. get a whole pizza and take it home. it's more cost effective and belly effective. YUM.

That and the domestics!!

...where there was nature and earth, life and water, I saw a desert landscape that was unending, resembling some sort of crater, so devoid of reason and light and spirit that the mind could not grasp it on any sort of conscious level and if you came close the mind would reel backward, unable to take it in.

Great pizza and atmosphere. Service was probably as good as it could be with how packed it was. My only recommendation would to put carry-out on someone who isn't running the bar as it can make wait times longer than necessary.

Apparently this is the new Gtown hot spot. Yelper tip: get here with a group early (like 4) and stake your claim. :-) The pizza is delish and the brews are good and reasonable.
