I made a mistake when I placed my fudge order. I had not left the lobby so the very nice young man switched them out, no questions asked. Thank you so much!!!

Great. I am one of those people who can only eat a little fudge at a time. At the fudgery i got fudge that i could not even put down is was very great

Located right next to Gordon Biersch. All I have to say is the fudge is great! They let us sample all the fudge before we bought (or felt obligated to buy) some. Little pricey but I've definitely seen more expensive fudge and of lesser quality. Overall impression: Delicious fudge that is not too sweet. Not 5 stars because it is a tad expensive (7.99 for 1/2 a pound).

Awful stale, tasteless fudge. I think one star is too generous. In fact, the only reason I gave this place a star at all is because of their little gimmick--the employees sing. Now, don't ask me why a fudge place needs a barbershop quartet, but I guess when your extremely overpriced fudge that tastes like it's been sitting behind glass since Christmas (I was here in June) isn't selling--and for good reason--you need a gimmick. But why not just make a better product? The reason, I'm sure, the fudge was so stale and hard was because they don't move it quickly. Why? Because it's $8 for one thin slice. Why not lower your price a bit to move your product more quickly and thereby keep the fudge fresh? Finally, as another poster said, hot fudge / fudge isn't rocket science. That is, making fudge isn't difficult . . . anyone can make it, it doesn't take long, and it doesn't cost much. That makes selling stale fudge even more unconscionable.

Fudge - of many different varieties. Samples available to help you choose. The staff also sang (serenaded) me while I was making my purchase. Ice cream is also available if you want a cold treat. Bring your kids, bring your friends, bring your lady when you want to ask her if if that's time of the month (this is much better than asking).

After a disappointing meal at another 4th Street restaurant, we decided fudge might be a way to spoil our taste buds. So we stepped right up and checked out the Fudgery. It all felt kind of like the county fair or maybe a vacation tourist spot. It was a bit weird and the employees were a bit unorganized. When the cashier finally came up to take our order he couldn't ring us up because another employee had the key to the register. So he went in the back for a while, then came out with the other employee who unlocked the register. He dropped things a few times (not the fudge, thank goodness). The peanut butter fudge was creamy on the inside but needs a bit more peanut butter for me.

My boyfriend and I visited The Fudgery after hitting a few spots on 4th St. for his birthday. The staff was getting ready to close up shop, but stopped everything they were doing to help us. So refreshing that such a young staff was customer service oriented! We both got waffle cones with our favorite ice cream and both very satisfied with the service and our desserts!

I got a milkshake. It was solid. The fudge looked amazing although we didn't try any. This is a great place to stop and grab a scoop if you're wandering around 4th street or just finished lunch and want a sweet treat!

Friendly staff! Blue Bell Ice Cream! Lots of choices in fudge & their slices of fudge are large enough to split between 2 or 3 people, making it a great buy! Yum!

I find it a little creepy when people sing and look me right in the eyes - the Happy Birthday song has never been a good moment for me. So when I was lured into The Fudgery by the smell of choice confections, I was taken aback by the soulful sounds of R&B-esque show tune covers belted out while the workers diligently kneaded loaves of fudge. Given my love of chocolate, I had to put that all aside and bask in the aroma of sugary heaven. My one complaint is this: You have to buy a large quantity of fudge. They only sell half pounds and pounds... I wanted a sliver so I left empty handed. Though I did not get to indulge in fudge this particular time, I have had the pleasure of enjoying their fudge previously, at their grand opening. My coworker brought in a pound each of 10 different kinds of fudge for a mid day tasting. Oh my. Diabetes, I welcome you. I could write about sweets all day so I leave you with this: Eat fudge from The Fudgery. Screw your waistline and throw your diet out the window for five minutes so you slip into a confectionery coma. Your soul will be happy, and that is more important than your body.

Who decided to put a candy and ice cream shop, that markets to families with young children, in the middle of a bar district? When I walked into the shop today and found myself surrounded by parents with very young children I really wondered how that happened. Now, onto the shop itself... when you walk in there is an ice cream counter to the left which serves Blue Bell ice cream. Its a little over $4 for a single scoop and you can get most of these flavors of Blue Bell at the local grocery store. On the right there is a Fudge/ Candy Apple Counter. They were making candy apples in the store when I came in so I suppose they make all that stuff in house but I can't swear to that. They will let you sample any of the fudges and the ones I tried were pretty good. The fudge is only sold in half pound blocks which are $7.99/block. I found this pretty annoying as it really limited me to only buying one type of fudge as opposed to being able to mix and match. Overall, I guess I'll go back if I ever need half a pound of a single type of fudge or a scoop of really overpriced grocery store ice cream. However, I don't recommend taking your children here unless you want them to see a few dozen drunk people on their way in the door.

It's not like I'm coming here for a 4 course dinner, so I don't mind the oblivious staff that people are complaining about. Delicious ice cream--pricey but worth the creamy goodness. Fudge is great too.

The fudge was ok. Too chalky or gritty for me. And WAY too sweet and expensive. What was strange was that the pb fudge would stay moist, but just after 10 min the other ones (Rocky Road, Pralines) would become hard and dried out. I should have just gotten some ice cream instead.

Lame excuse for an ice cream shop. The whole point of ordering a Hot Fudge Sunday is the Hot Fudge!! This is not rocket science. Making a hot fudge sunday only needs three ingredients, Vanilla Ice Cream, HOT FUDGE and whipped cream, Cherries and nuts are optional. Giving me 3 layers of Ice Cream one of which I don;t like, with a very small drizzle pattern on top with a chocolate syrup is not a Hot Fudge Sunday. I will never return!!

New to 4th street, this sugar laden shop replaces the old gumbo place that moved, but no one really minds. It's added the touristy shine to 4th streets party hard attitude, and given any of the locals something sweet to sink their teeth into. Sugar and chocolate aromas drift out in to the summer air making you want to trick you friend that on a diet to coming in with you to "Just Look". Clean, immaculate, fresh tiles line the walls and floors of the shop a bunch of guise behind the fudge counter making fudge, one in back cooking, another kneading it on a candy bench and the last plucking half pound blocks from the case to sell to any one foolish enough to pass by. They sell them only in half pound cuts I know that's a lot bring friends it's around 7.99 for a half pound cut. The left side of the wall has counter were you can get something cool, to deal with the hot summer days. The fudge was sweet really sweet, soft style fudge. Not my cup of tea but not bad either. If you cot a sweet tooth or want something to soak up the case load of alcohol you're going to drinking partying the night away stop in for a treat on your way to the bar or concert seat.

Where to begin with this place...love to hate it kinda thing. The logic of it's location is a little off....an ice cream/fudge place in the middle of Louisville's party street? hm. Also, the flies. landing on the open cones...and then have that same cone served to you. A bit icky if you ask me. however, the ice cream is amazing. love the variety! my fav so far is the birthday cake. haven't tried the fudge yet. as for the "singing", i felt embarrassed for them lol. some of the guys just could not do it. Good place to stop when you need something cold in the middle of a city. If not anything else, it's entertaining.
