Visited this Starbucks once before and left a review, but seems like there are two Yelp entries for this place as I am writing on another yelp entry for the same Starbucks. Anyway, still a short walk from the Brown hotel, but found they don't brew dark roast after noon time (?). Also, cute female barista not here, just two dudes. Update: Just realized this yelp entry is for a different Starbucks down the street, but the pictures and previous reviews are for the one I am sitting in. Just a mixup since this Starbucks doesn't show up in nearby yelp search.

You're in a post-Millenium metro. There's coffee on every corner -- including two more Starbucks within blocks of this location if you need that specific fix. Don't waste time here unless you want to soak up some free A/C on a hot day. Rating: 2 stars because it's still Starbucks. Coffee is what you'd expect, but takes twice as long.

Worse service ever. Cashier (African American heavyset lady) was sitting down taking her sweet time and showing moodiness to costumers throwing things around. Obviously there are some issues going on and she's making sure she shows how unhappy she is to the customers. Only two staff and a line of over 30 people. Do they not see huge conventions and people going on? Whether people called in sick or staff has personal things going on, this is a sign of BAD management and zero leadership. Will never be coming back.

Service was very poor and slow! Two workers and a full house. One worker was ringing customers up while the other was restocking the area where you fix up your coffee- not making the coffee like she should have been. There were people standing around waiting for 30+ minutes for coffee; business people who all seemed to be in a hurry.

Horribly slow service, unfriendly baristas that look as though they would rather be anywhere else but here. Avoid this Starbucks--there other locations just a few blocks away.

The coffee at the Starbucks is generally on par with other Starbucks, but for a guy that comes in from out of town like me, you can't go to a coffee shop that doesn't have a bathroom. I need a place I can post up and kill an hour or a place to invite business acquaintances - sure, this place might be good for that, but when you mix in coffee, having no bathroom could spell trouble in the future. In addition, having been to this location on several occasions, I've seen the staff let the lines get way too far out of control. On at least 2 occasions I've seen it swell to ~20 people only for the cashier to plea for help and have three co-workers come scurrying out of the backroom from doing whatever it is 75% of this Starbucks workforce does in the backroom together.

It's Starbucks, so you pretty much already know the deal. However, because this isn't a "Corporate" location, they don't participate in the normal promotions or coupon offers. The service is usually quick, even during peak hours, so that is nice.

it's a nice location that I stop by walking downtown. It is a smaller store, however the service is very nice and friendly, and they to have a small selection of gifts. Otherwise, just your standard Starbucks.

We were served fast, our drinks were tasty, and the inside was very nice. It's pretty much just a typical Starbucks. The guy behind the counter seemed pretty knowledgeable about the menu, which was nice.

This morning I felt both like taking a walk and treating myself to some chai. Vanilla chai is my favorite thing ever. While I like to try and support small and local businesses, none of their chais taste good to me. That and they cost the same (or more) than a Starbucks venti for far less product. So, when I have a hankering, I take myself to a Starbucks and happily enjoy my delicious latte. The location is decent if you are staying at the Seelbach or working in the area downtown. But like I said, I walked there. For one, because I am only a few blocks away, and two because there isn't anywhere close by to park ever.

It's fine. It's Starbucks. If you are at the Convention Center and in need of caffeine, it should be your first stop. If you are just in downtown Louisville and looking for a place to hang out, skip it. Coffee shops should have free wifi (I think that's a law or something), but these guys don't. I understand that the Convention Center wants to sell $100/day internet access to their exhibitors, but I just want to get some dang work done. And I don't have $100. I had $5, but I just spent it on coffee.

All I can say is AWKWARD. I am a loyal Starbucks customer because they make the only chai I like. I was in Louisville on business and stopped in at this SB, so I'm glad it's not a local one for me because I won't likely be back. There was one barista - a guy - working. This was around 6:15 am on a Thursday. It wasn't busy, so the one barista wasn't a problem from a workflow issue. He took my order and I gave him my gold SB card to pay. I didn't have enough on the card to pay for the drink, so I needed an extra $1.30 or so. I had $2, so that wasn't a problem. Here's where it turned awkward and mildly offensive. I gave him the $2 to make up the extra. As he handed me my change, he VERY OBVIOUSLY reached across the counter, picked up the tip jar, and purposefully set it directly under my hand and in front of me. Seriously? I regularly leave $1 or $2 in the tip jar in response to very friendly and efficient service, but I've NEVER had a SB barista be so aggressive about it. Dude needs to get a clue about customer service. Would not go in here at this time again, and certainly would never tip this guy for pulling that kind of crap. On a side note, the chai was decent. Not one of the best I've had from SB, but OK.

Since they're connected to The Selbach, they weren't able to use my birthday reward off of my gold member status card. The up-side: sold me the coffee I ordered for the cost of a short (even though that wasn't 'exactly' what I ordered) to make up for it. Prompt service, great location, friendly staff. Everything a Starbucks should be!

It's inside the Seelbach, so like Starbucks inside Target and B&N, it doesn't participate in some corporate promotions (i.e. Frappuccino Happy Hour) and doesn't honor the perks of a Starbucks card (free syrups + soy milk). Kind of a bummer. That being said, its a Starbucks and you benefit from the consistency of the brand - you know exactly what you're going to get. There's a Java across the street that I'm more likely to patronize to get my caffeine fix.

Three cheers for Starbucks for actually being open on a Sunday morning!! All the other cafes and eateries were closed, leaving me starving for a muffin. Starbucks to the rescue! Unfortunately, they close at noon, but by then the sleepy lunchtime bistros were opening.
