Needed to accommodate a couple vegetarians in the group, so we landed on this place. I was impressed by the food and the owner! My group (of 7) got there a bit late (8:30 pm) and commenced to ordering, during that time we realized they were in the process of putting away their chairs outside and in, then realized they actually closed at 9. The staff still served us without any audible grumblings and were patient as as they brought the dishes out to our table even though not all of us could recall the name of what we ordered. I ordered the Mahi Mahi something (myself included in the previous sentence) with the salad and tzatziki sauce. Pretty simple dish - couple good size nuggets of mahi mahi, good portion of salad with onions, feta cheese, and olives, and a small cup of tzatziki. The tzatziki was a little more bland and unexciting than what I've had before, but more an observation than a complaint since I ate everything on my plate. Was VERY happy with the meal AND the price. Has a cool outdoor seating area underneath what looked to be some grape vines to get the whole "not in Kentucky anymore" vibe. The decor inside was really inviting, too. Once we finished eating, the owner had already put up about half the chairs in the dining room, and came to unlock the door to let us out. He sparked up a little conversation with us asking where we were from. I apologized for coming in so late since I didn't think to check the hours and, as a good business owner would do, said "No problem at all, glad to have been able to serve you!!" but not in the overly enthusiastic used car salesman way. Good food, great prices, cool dining atmosphere (inside and out). Would recommend!

Delicious food. Wonderful service. We've not eaten a lot of Mediterranean food so we came on a little confused as to what we should order. The gentleman at the front, who seemed to be the owner, was incredibly helpful. When he served our food, he gave us each a sample side of hummus. It was the best hummus we'd ever had!

Great service! Amazing food! If you are craving Falafel, this is the place to go! I was in a hurry during my lunch break and my order was ready in 5 minutes. The food was delicious, warm and definitely fresh! Dont miss out on Falafel Tuesdays!

Great food and friendly customer service! The owner is always there and really jolly. Lots of options as well if you want something healthy or vegetarian. The chicken panini with quinoa is one of my favorite meals, which also got me addicted to THE CHIPOTLE SAUCE. Very good. I've never had a bad meal here (I've had chicken and shrimp kabobs as well) and everything always tastes fresh! Unique lunch spot!

Food is excellent. I would rank them 4 , but they run out of menu items pretty regularly... I guess that's a sign that the food is good, but maybe they should adjust their stock levels & they'd be able to leave even more customers happy.

This establishment has wonderful fresh food The owner was working at the location and he shared that these recipes are from his family. Very authentic and also healthy. It's more economical to buy for more than one person because the portions are large. The herbal rice is tdf.

This location has never been as good as holiday manor but tonight was my last time. Sad lamb burnt salmon. Not worth the money.

After reading some reviews I was hesitant to try but seeing as how conveniently it's located to my work I gave it a shot and loved it. After living in the Middle East for several years, it was nice to see a restaurant cook kabobs using a traditional charcoal fan grill, you can really taste the difference in the chicken! I personally like the chicken kabobs with white rice and the Shriaz salad. I highly suggest the Shiraz salad, it is diced cucumbers, tomatoes and onions with olive oil and lemon juice as the dressing. The lemon and oil cut any after taste and act as breath freshener not to mention its very healthy. A must for all meals is the Tzatziki sauce, goes great on anything! This location is a little tricky to find unless you are looking for it. Parking can sometimes be difficult seeing as it is located in a strip mall with a Subway and other small companies. The inside is very colorful and bright giving off a positive and clean feeling. The best part of the experience is the staff. Mo, the owner knows many of the patrons names and stories. Not to mention many of the other employees including the manager Don will ask you about your day and remember what you spoke about the previous visit and how your previous story might've progressed. I personally like this attribute in a company but the employees are not over bearing and force personal conversation upon their patrons. Great place, people and wonderful mix of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food.

I like to think I am a bit of an expert on Middle Eastern food. Working for two years in an office with mostly Persians will do that. I live in San Diego, and I have half a dozen Middle Eastern restaurants that I frequent. I have to say that Shiraz is the shiznit! I love koobideh or kafta kabob. The kabob here was so tender and so flavorful. I skipped on the rice and got the baba ghanouj and shirazi salad. Both were fresh and tasted wonderful. My sisters had chicken kabobs and I was impressed by both the portion size and tenderness of the chicken. The only ding was how small the portions of each salad were, but in all honestly, I should probably cut back. I understand that different locations of Shiraz around Louisville serve beer. This one does not. When I find myself in Louisville next, this is a must-stop for lunch.

I could eat here everyday. The owner Moe is also very nice & has done a wonderful job with the setting & the service. I normally get the chicken kabob or the shwarma wrap w/chicken. The only thing I wish they offered were more soup options.

My fiancé talked this place up as almost one of a kind. Well from my experience it was just average. I ordered the Chicken Kaboob and she ordered the Falafel. The chicken and falafel tasted great but the rice, hummus, and tabbooleh was average at best. I hope it was because the good fresh food went out at lunch being we came in about 2pm so we got what was left. When I visit Louisville I would skip this place unfortunately.

I've been to several Shiraz locations, and though this is the closest one to me, it's unfortunately my least favorite. They don't offer balal, even though their menu lists it, their vegetables are under seasoned, they don't give you lavash bread, even though the menu states that it comes with most items, and on the menu where it says that the sweet potato fries come with honey, a sharpie has scratched out that information and lists ketchup as its accompanying condiment. The small container of under seasoned fries you receive (smaller than other locations) has a couple of packets of ketchup haphazardly thrown inside. At other locations, the fries come generously seasoned and with a container of spiced honey. The food here is still better and fresher than a lot of other quick meal options, but with all the corners being cut at this location, I'm left wondering what of the experience synonymous with the Shiraz name is left?

Cute, fast casual option for pretty darn good food. The rice is a bit of a disappointment, so it is worth upgrading your combo to get hummus or sweet potato fries or some other deliciousness. But thumbs up for the kabobs. My sweet potato fries came with little ketchup-style packets of honey. I think they were sealed with kryptonite. Tiny cups would have been so much nicer. The moral of this story is I had to eat dry sweet potato fries. Sad face.

So this was my second time here, the first the wait was to long for our kids...I was first in line today for lunch and it still took some time, but I was cool with that. He did give me some extra Tazki sauce for the wait (Very Nice). I got our meals to go, Falafel Sandwich, the Shiraz Panini, & an order of sweet potato fries...The Falafel sandwich was good, the Panini was very bland and did not finish it. The order of sweet potato fries was...well funny. Paid$ 2.25 for about 15 very small fries, and they were nothing special at all! If I am in a pinch we would eat here again...but there are far better "Mediterranean" options in town and a lot closer to me!

If you like fresh mediterranean that is faster than a McRestaurant, seek out Shiraz! My regular is the Fatoosh salad -- you can't beat the crunchy pops of quinoa and the fresh zing of the mint mixed in with juicy tomatoes and cucumbers. Add a side of crispy flatbread and you have a healthy and delicious lunch in minutes! There is not a bad thing on the menu if you like mediterranean cuisine. I've gotten the family-style kebob dinners several times and split them with companions -- always a good choice with the saffron rice and juicy cuts of meat that Shiraz includes. Pop in, choose this side or that side, and find a new favorite at Shiraz!

The menu is... Not Mediterranean. Dishes include sriracha, quinoa, and there is a panini on the menu (which comes with pepperjack cheese and a BBQ ranch-tasting dressing.) The rest of the menu includes a few other wraps and about fifty variations of kabobs. I ordered the filafel and a side of quinoa which I never received. The filafel was okay, although I ordered it without feta and it came with feta on half, as though they had forgotten and just picked most if it off. I've had worse, but I won't be returning.

Not your traditional Middle Eastern grill but the food was good. The chicken kabob is very good. The staff is very nice.

Their "bread" is just some sort of a tortilla, not real bread. Ew. Their baba ghanoush was just.. gross. It was served with their "bread" and was not pureed. It was kind of chopped, I guess. The falafel sandwich was alright, but I've had better at almost every other Mediterranean place in town. They included some awful rice thing with each dish. It was gross.

Love the Chicken Kabob, Mushrooms and the Lamb!! Personally I like to ask for NO butter sauce to be coated on my meal right after cooking. The one thing that I CAN NOT stand at this restaurant is the 55 cents they charge for 1 oz cup tazique sauce. Other than that I love it!

If you don't want a lot, just a quick filling snack I HIGHLY recommend the Shiraz Rolls. YUM

This is my favorite location of Shiraz - there are combos clearly posted so it makes ordering easy for those ordering for the first time. I go to this place at least once a week, everything is fresh and the grilled items taste amazing. I take so many friends here, and they end up loving it and always end up going back for more.

Plenty of tables for seating. Five tables outside. Three of the outdoortables had large canvas umbrellas to shade from the sun. Large menu. Great vegetarian options. Reasonable prices. Sat outside and enjoyed some very fresh food. Ordered the vegetable kebab, falafel starter. The girlfriend ordered the sampler platter. We were both very happy. Will return for sure.

Per my comments in the tip section, this is not the best Shiraz location. While portions are good and there's decent value, the chicken kabob was oily and not as tender and the eggplant dish was off in comparison to the Poplar Level location.

Been here twice. Food in general has been ok. Not spectacular, but good. They serve lavash bread instead of pita, which isn't a plus. The best item so far is the hummus, which has a tangy flavor but just doesn't go down as nicely as it would with warm pita bread. The prices as high for the amount and quality of food. On our second visit I asked for feta cheese on my shwarma wrap, but when it was plunked down in front of me there wasn't a speck on it. My wife says the Med food at Shiraz is as good as it gets in Louisville, but I don't believe that's a compliment. Does Louisville had a Mediterranean restaurant with reasonable prices and delicious food, or do you always have to sacrifice one for the other when you're in a city with such a small immigrant community? I supposed we will continue our quest for the best Med meal in Luhville...

Loved this place. Everyone was so nice and genuine. Great healthy food. Would recommend to anyone. Hummus was great!

This was great - my first time here. I had the #10 combo Chicken Panini and kebob with quinoa and no avacado. The sauce that came with it was spicy and really good - it sort of reminded me of chipotle. It was more than I could eat.

TORTILLAS!!!! They have chosen to use tortillas instead of pita bread because of cost. We use to like this place but it has since went down hill. Portion size and quality of food have changed for the worse. GO TO THE OTHER LOCATIONS they still serve great Greek food.

My favorite is the chicken panini and the veggie Kabob! It comes with a cup of Tazique sauce. YUM! Second fave is their Salmon. Quick friendly service and fresh food. The atmosphere is very casual. We like to pick up carry out and enjoy it at home.

I wish the menu was a little easier for a newbie to figure out what they are ordering, but even stumbling through it you are sure to get a good meal. I love the panini and the kabobs have some of the best chicken I have ever tasted . Make sure you ask about the sides or any question you have about the menu. They will let you sample so you get what you like, and that may make or break the meal. Good and consistent for some different flavors you don't see everywhere else.

Solid, casual Mediterranean cuisine. I had never been much of a visitor to any Shiraz location, with the wonderful Istanbul Palace close to home, but now that they are gone I have become a frequent patron (I need my falafel fix). There are better options around town, but this is a great place for a quick, delicious, semi-healthy bite.

Delicious chicken kabobs! I had the chicken kabob combo with white rice and hummus. The chicken was delicious as was the white sauce but I felt that the hummus was just average. With that said, this place was great in my opinion. I will definitely be back to try the steak and salmon. I recommend trying this place. It's nothing fancy but definitely gets the job done with a clean dining area, friendly and quick service and great kabobs

My fiancé had talked me into coming here a long time ago, I refused! He tried again here recently while we were out this way and I gave in. So very glad he begged me! We've been here 4 times in less than 2 weeks. I can't get enough. The staff is friendly and the food is ALWAYS on point. It's fresh, authentic, and they give huge portions. The manager here is so nice. There was a little girl crying in the dining area and instead of yelling or what not he gave the girl a cookie and talked to her, it was just the sweetest thing. 5 Stars! They deserve every bit!

This place is not Mediterranean. They have many non-Mediterranean dishes and they are missing many staple Med. dishes. The chicken kabobs are tasteless and so is the tzaziki. Had to ask for hummus. The sweet potato fries were cold, burnt, and also no flavor. They came with packets of honey. The people who work there are very nice, but will not be back because the food was tasteless.

Moved back to Louisville a couple months ago and this place was recommended by a couple people, I was a bit hesitant to try but so happy I did! Hummus---- the BEST ever, full of flavor and yummy. Had the salmon and will def get on my next visit.

My wife and I probably have lunch or dinner here 3 to 6 times a month. It's between our studio and our home so it is a pretty convenient place for us to go during lunch or for a quick dinner. Having eaten here dozens of times, the food has always been awesome. I love it. Never had a problem. I mostly eat chicken or steak kabobs. And I make a mess and get rice everywhere. Just like everyone else, right? But the restaurant is clean. They do a great job cleaning up after all of those messy customers like me. The management and staff have always been friendly. I've never had a problem or witnessed one. We take our kids there and they eat free. Little bums.

Ordered the family platter for take out. The chicken was really good. Over all it was all very fresh tasting and we enjoyed it. They were out of steak so we didn't get to try that and the ground beef was just okay. But service was quick and easy.
