Entering drivethru was difficult because two cars were parked in front of restaurant blocking 1/2 of entrance to parking lot/drivethru. I glared at each of them. Large survillance camera mounted on speaker box two feet from my face felt seriously intrusive, i.e., rude. I understand upselling, but discussing the size of my drink, the $1 price for an additional side, and my choices for dessert--in addition to being asked to confirm my every response-- made it seem like placing my order was never going to end. Woman at window was unremarkable until she handed me a bunch of loose items: 2 packets hot sauce, 2 packets Cajun Sparkle, a cup of tarter sauce, 3 napkins and a spork. We each needed both hands to make the exchange. She then asked me to pull around front of the building and park at "the end of the green railing" with no explanation. I advised her that no one was waiting behind me. She responded that someone would bring me my order. And so I pulled to the front of the building, blocked half the entrance, and received my very own scowling glare from the next drivethru customer. She ended up parked right behind me getting her very own scowling glare from the very next drivethru customer. He, in turn, ended up parked behind her. Now twelve minutes into waiting, I discovered my softdrink (upsized for $0.25) was nothing more than barely flavored soda water. Receipt and drink in hand, I went inside, stood at the counter, and was completely ignored while I contemplated making quite the scene. I opted for the self-service drink fountain instead. I met the woman carrying my food at the door as she was coming back inside--unwilling to wait for me as long as I waited for her. Popeyes delivered a terrible experience at every turn!

The only reason I am giving a 2 Star rating is because the chicken and slaw are really, really good! Beyond that my experience was not what I had hoped for. As other visitors have mentioned, the customer service is lacking. This afternoon when I pulled up to order, the drive-thru window attendant muttered something into the microphone. Not understanding what he said, I went ahead and started my order asking for the 12 piece Mild dinner. Sarcastically, I was interrupted with "Sir, your going to have to give me some time!" Okay! The rest of the process went as expected and in-line with the beginning, dry interaction with no interest of wanting to be there! When I got home with my order, guess what, it was wrong. No "Mild" chicken only "Regular!" And after paying the up-charge for all white meat, I received "all white meat," but only 2 breasts and 10 wings! Really, $26 for this! When a company has a great product, it's frustrating to see unappreciative employees doing what they can to ruin it!

Been here twice now. Once during the week & again on weekend. Food was terrible & tasted like it'd been under a heat lamp for hours. Staff appeared to be teenagers that had a, didn't want to be there, attitude. I'd suggest a different location.

Popeye's is new to the east end of Louisville. In fact there was quite the hype going on up to it's opening among the Anchorage area crowd. I even know of one person (who might be a relative) that had bets going to see which of her friends would beat the others to the opening. It was somewhat comical. My first foray with Popeye's was in New Orleans at their Canal Street store. Let me say that our Louisville store is doing my Popeye's experience justice. It was very yummy. My daughter and I went today and ordered the chicken tenders, jambalaya side, and a biscuit. We ordered mild because the kid thought "spicy" might be too much for her. NO, it would not have been because the mild was just that and you really do want the SPICY for the true Popeye's experience. The mild was very yummy though so I was happy with it. I will get the spicy next time, whenever that may be. I may be reverting back to meatless soon. But that's another story ;) Go to Popeye's! You will really like the crunchy-ness of their chicken and it is not grossly greasy like some other fried chicken places. Plus they use REAL chicken tenders - no mash ups. And they have some good dipping sauces. My daughter loved the biscuit. I liked the jambalaya. Needed salt but it was fine. It gets a thumbs up from theses Chicks.

Chicken was great, I have been trying to go for lunch since this location has opened and there is always a crowd. Red beans and rice was good too.

I absolutely LOVE this place! The food is great, the service is great, the staff is wonderful, and the place is clean. As soon I entered I was greeted. You don't receive that sort of attention at most "fast food" places. I received my food quickly and it was hot! The chicken tenders were so delicious and the fries were the best I've had. The staff was very friendly at all times. Every time I visit this location I leave 100% satisfied. Did I mention how great the staff is? ; )

Fresh hot food, great customer service & it's a clean restaurant!! Drove all the way here from Lex only to eat here & definitely worth the trip. Can't wait to get 1 in Lexington!!

The only reason I gave 2 stars is for the flavor of their chicken. It totally beats KFC's chicken anytime! However, we have purchased "take-out" twice and will never do that again! They are horrible! The first time we ordered an eight-piece bucket (dark meat only) and when we got it home it was 3 wings, 2 breasts, and 2 legs! Is that all dark meat? No! Second time I had my three-year old twin granddaughters and my daughter-in-law with me and we ordered take out as we were on the way to the park to eat a picnic dinner and let the twins play. We opened up our meals, and there were no eating utensils to be found so we had four sides we couldn't eat! And not one napkin to be found either! How can you eat fried chicken with nothing to wipe your hands on?? So, by the time we got home later, the sides were ruined and I had to throw them all away and wasted $25.00 that night! Never again will I go there even though I like their chicken. Very, very, disappointing, not to mention angry when we had no way to eat our food and I wasted so much money!

Cannot give this place anything but five stars. The chicken is amazing, and was crunchy, hot and had just a little spice. The sides and the biscuits were all something special as far as fast food chicken places go. Beats kfc hands down. If you want some chicken that is not the same old thing this is your place. Keep up the good work, loved it.
