I've always liked the Penn Station chain. This location is no exception. I always either get the Philly Cheesesteak add mushrooms, onions, and mayo or the Italian minus ham and tomatoes. The meats and grilled veggies ( mushrooms and onions) are always cooked fresh to order and when I say fresh I mean the steak is raw until you order it. No reheating previously cooked meats! The subs are always hot and flavorful but can be somewhat greasy which I guess might be an issue for some more health conscious people but for me it just means flavor. My only complaints which are pretty minor are that I find their prices to be a bit high. To feed my husband, myself and our three year old it comes to more than $30.00. At least twice what I'd pay at fast food places and almost as much as we would pay at a sit down restaurant. I certainly agree that because it's much better than fast food it should cost more but I don't think it should rival restaurant prices! My other complaint is that sometimes they seem very slow. They are always friendly and I know that cooking to order takes time but I've waited 20 minutes for my order with no one ahead of me on more than one occasion. The wait won't keep me from going back but it does sometimes influence my decision to go there if I'm not sure I have the time to wait! Other than that the place is always clean and the staff are nice! Great sandwich place!

Penn Station is itself a good franchise, but this one is top notch. Their sandwiches and fries are always good, the restaurant is clean, and the staff is friendly and attentive. The Philadelphia cheesesteak is the flagship sandwich, and my usual choice. There are a dozen other hot and cold sandwiches to choose from, and they rotate as monthly specials. Their fries are hand cut and cooked to perfection. I have given up other restaurants' French fries to be a bit healthier, but they make them so well here that it is my one exception. By far my favorite sandwich shop, this Penn Station has made its way into my weekly lunch rotation.

If there were 6 stars available it would be 6. Mind you it's not steak and lobster, it's a sandwich shop but oh what a sandwich. If there were stars available for location/parking it would be 1. I almost turned around and left like many, many others did but the great reviews on Yelp made me hold fast and tough out finding parking. Am I glad I did. The bread, how to describe the bread. Perfect, sweet and sour dough flavor combined. The perfect amount of chewiness. $3 or $4 more than a Quiznos or similar place but we'll worth it, plus the home cut fries which were great. When I'm in Louisville again this will be a must stop. Great job folks!!

Average Penn Station, good sandwiches. Service was a little slow.

I didn't know this was a chain until I checked the reviews here. But I'm glad I went here... This place reminds me of a slightly better Quiznos. Nice hot sandwiches with good ingredients. And fries. I don't know why more sandwich places don't serve fries. But I love having fries with my sandwiches. Don't get me wrong - the fries are OK. They need a bit more salt, but they're good. And they're nice and thick, which is tasty. And thank the good lord, they have Pepsi products. I find the regional flavor of Diet Coke here disgusting, but I love Diet Pepsi. So I was really happy to find Pepsi products.

Although there subs are a little more expensive that somewhere like Subway they are also a lot better. I like close so I go here pretty often. The service is good and the employees are nice.

I remember the first time I ever tried Penn Station. Coming from a small town where the only sandwich shop I knew about was Subway, Penn Station was a sandwich mecca. I had to give it a medium score because there is only one menu item that really shines for me. Other menu items are good, but they usually fall short. When I think Penn Station, I immediately think CHICKEN CORDON BLEU! I'm not sure what it is, but it never disappoints. Wait a second! Maybe I do know what it is. The way the swiss cheese melts to the lettuce, becomes stringy, smothered in honey mustard, & mixed with the other ingredients(chicken/smoked ham/tomatoes) makes this sandwich perfect for eating during lunch or a quick dinner. I will say that this Penn Station location is one of the better locations in the city. Out of all of them, I think there are only 2 or 3 of them that really excel in cleanliness, friendly customer service, & always tasty fresh food. This place also gives you the option of fries over chips. The fries are good when you have a good batch. Sometimes they're better. Sometimes they taste old. I'm not a big fan of ketchup with my fries, but ketchup with these fries are a must. Lastly, when ordering something to drink here you should order the lemonade. Most places have lemonade soda or some other type of fruity soda, but Penn Station makes actual lemonade.

Pretty basic subs, fast service for take out. Akin to jimmy johns. The grilled artichoke sub was pretty underwhelming. The chicken parm and steak and cheese were filling but basic.

Normally I find most sandwich and grinder places to be just really sub par. Queueing for mediocre cold cuts is not my idea of eating fresh. I can slap watery tuna on a bun and toast it as well as anyone and don't have to pay $8 for it and a bag of chips. That being said, I do like Penn Station. It doesn't taste quite as cheap to me. I wouldn't normally give one 4 stars either, but what puts this place above the rest is customer service. Many of the workers have been there for a few years now and know the regulars by name. They're also quick to fix an order if it's not right. Once I got charged extra for cheese instead of them holding it off the order, so they bought my next sandwich to make up for it. The order still came out right and I was $4 ahead without ever having to complain. That's just good customer service. The place gets pretty busy at lunch and parking is a bit limited. Otherwise no complaints. Oh! Stop by on Tuesday for a free cookie.

A chain sandwich shop that reminded me of Charley's Grilled Subs that I went to quite a few times when working in MD. The cheesesteak (with just onions - pizza sauce? must be a local thing) was about as close to the real thing as I've had, except for, believe it or not, a drive- in in Rio Vista, CA. Of course, when you've had one from Pat's King of Steaks all others pale by comparison. The fries were some of the best I've ever had - I don't know why fries served in a cup seem so much better. The music was just a little too loud. I love classic rock, but the tile floors acted like an echo chamber and I had a hard time hearing the cashiers. The place was very clean, service pretty fast, and good food. The medium (10") was more than I needed, but good enough that I ate all of it.

I ordered an Italian and it was all that. Good amount of fries, however, they were a little overcooked. The lemonade was very good. The chocolate chunk cookies could have used some walnuts. Overall a good experience.
