Basically, this is a 3 star review. My food was good, the atmosphere was good, and the service was good. All good, but not great. Of course, this is just based on one visit where I was seated close the the entry door and I shared a large platter with someone else (which wasn't my first choice of entree). I'm giving the place an extra star for being neat, clean, and giving us all an decent, inexpensive Mediterranean dining option. It was very crowded on my visit, which is good sign that something is going right. The interior was a little blah. There was a decent amount of tables and a few booths, but I felt like some sort of ambiance or kitschy charm was missing. I'm sure I'll return. There was other items on the menu I'd like to try.

Great food as always. You may know the owner from Little Jerusalem on Taylor blvd. He lost his lease at his old location and opened a new place here. Thank goodness for that. I have tried a few other restaurants here like his but none can touch the quality of food. Quite a bargain too. The new location (I believe it use to be Noble Romans?) is much nicer place. Plenty of seating. Can't really speak of decorations or such as he just opened today and it was sort of a soft opening. No pretty pictures, tv or music or any other fluff, just great food. Check em out. You will not be sorry. Welcome back Sami B. !!!!

We were headed to the Louisville Airport from Lexington and wanted to grab some relatively quick lunch since the food options in SDF are abysmal. I looked up some places nearby and settled on Mirage for its high reviews and super convenient location. The falafel was easily the best element of the meal. They were hot, fresh and crispy. The inside was a wonderful, not-too-ground-up, not-too-chunky, just-right mixture of chick pea, parsley and plentiful garlic. None of us were extremely hungry, so we all ended up with small meals. In fact, three of the four ordered the Hummus & Shawarma plate, one each with beef, chicken, and gyro meat. I think the best thing about Mirage is their variety of Mediterranean salads. Many of the plates come with a choice of 2 salads, which is great for getting variety of flavors. I love tahini-based Jerusalem salad, and Mirage makes a solid version. Their specials were varied and looked delicious, so I will definitely head back here the next time I'm flying in or out of SDF.

I went here late on a Tuesday afternoon. This was a great place for a group of us to get great food, service and get some work done. The wi-fi is free and fast. The family meal was perfect for 3 people, instead of the 2 that it says. We also had the super creamy hummus. Yum!

Wonderful new to me find for Mediterranean restaurant. Went with friends and ordered many dishes to share. My fave was the grilled vegetables. Falafel were also good as well as fatoush. All plates were cleared, and we all agreed we will be back. It is in an interesting part of town and decor is very casual, but the food is well worth it. Price is pretty inexpensive in my opinion for the quantity and quality of food served.

If you are a Lamb Shank lover, then this place offers delightful Lamb Shank at a very reasonable price! Clean restaurant with friendly service should make this one of my new favs!

This place is one of the hidden gems of the city. Practically everything on the menu is great with few exceptions. The gyro sandwich is huge and delicious and the kalaya is to die for. Mirage is always my favorite place to hit up for a cheap, delicious meal. Extremely easy to get a table and very casual dining experience.

Chicken Schwarma is the best. You get tons of food for very cheap prices. The hummus and falafel deserve a shout as well.

So, if you have read my review of Safier, you will know that I have a love affair with Pita Inn in Wheeling, Illinois. So,every time I go to a new restaurant for falafel, hummus and pita bread, I try really hard, but I can't seem to really like any of them...I am still searching... However, Mirage came very very close! The falafel and hummus were spot on, and even the tahini was good, although thicker than I am used to...but the pita bread was not good...again, I took it to go, and maybe I should have stayed there to eat, but they were dry and tasteless...the search continues...

This visit to Louisville, I just felt like something different than the usual American fare at the chains and I found this jewel. It is not located in a classy neighborhood but the outside is neat and clean with a small outdoor patio and the interior nicely decorated with Mediterranean decor from several areas including Lebanon and Palestine. The tile floor (and everything else) was spotless and there was no sign of any grime anywhere. The food was the star though, several dishes spiced authentically with a variety to suit any taste. The descriptions offered and recommendations were spot on with regard to spicyness and flavors. Give it a try, the people are friendly and the prices are great with generous portions.

very good meal. falafal was crunchier than I am used to but the inside was light and flavorful. the humus was awesome. the jerusalem salad and pita was tasty. I will be returning.

We found Mirage via Yelp and were not disappointed! We consider ourselves adequately exposed to Mediterranean food and Mirage was great. The gyro meat was great, my wife loved the falafel and the vegetables were fresh. This was our first meal as a family in the final move from Ohio to Texas.

Yum! Hubby and I are new to the area and I've been trying to find good lunch spots close to his work -- Mirage hit the mark! He had the falafel plate (hearty portion - complete with hummus, two salads options and pita) and I went for the vegetable kalayra. Both were very flavorful! We'll certainly be back!

Best falafel in town. Just amazing fresh food with good service. Came in at dinner and ordered the falafel starter with lamb kabobs. Very good. Will try other things on the menu for my next visit.

The first visit was excellent -- four of us split a special platter with a combination of food from the menu. The server was friendly and helpful. The second visit was good, but not as great. The three of us really wanted lamb chops, but there only seemed to be the platter for 4 with it (and everything else) and we knew from before that it would be too much for 3 people. We ended up splitting 2 lamb platters and the waitress added an extra piece so that we each had 3 chops (for the cost of an extra kabob) and side salads. The waitress and waiter were friendly and brought an empty plate since we were sharing everything. But the lamb was a little more done than we had requested (we asked for medium) and service was slow. There was only 1 other table when we came in, but three or four other groups came in after us. We didn't mind the slow service that much since we were socializing, but I could tell a family with a small child was put out. We think a new cook was being trained, so I will definitely give them another shot.

Giros very good. A little on expensive side at $8.00.

Hole in the wall with good food but couples beware - NO PDA..... My boyfriend and I were asked to stop kissing because we were disturbing one of the other 4 customers in the restaurant.

Excellent home-style food. Not too greasy and not too pricey! The waitress was very welcoming and the service was great. I tried the kabob dinner and loved it. I also enjoyed the special tea- helped soothing my sore throat! They have some good veg options too. I would go back here when I visit Louisville again.

Overview: Mirage Mediterranean Restaurant is an (obviously) Mediterranean restaurant located just across the street from the Louisville La Quinta on Preston Highway that serves classic middle-eastern dishes such as lentil soup, falafel, and gyros. Expect to pay a little less than $12 dollars for a dinner entree but soups and appetizers are below $9. The Food: This review is of the lentil soup which was simple but well prepared and very tasty. I have a hard time describing it because it was really very standard in almost every way: Not particularly flavorful or exciting, but not bland either. Portions are big enough to tide you over until you get your entree but small enough that you will still have room for that entree. It's like they took very few risks but made sure to do everything right, and I would still recommend it to anyone coming here on a colder day or to whet the appetite before one of their entrees. The Service: Very non-attentive. One waiter seemed to be serving 3 tables but each step of the way took much longer than expected. From entry of the restaurant until we paid, it was nearly an hour and we only ate the lentil soup which is pre-prepared... The Establishment: Free parking, private lot, lots of booth seating, located close to the Aldi, casual vibe. Conclusion: Mirage Mediterranean Restaurant is a nice place with poor service that prepares all your favorite middle-eastern food. Had the service been better I would have given it 4-stars but feeling ignored definitely affects how I feel after a meal.

First time ever eating there was today, I will for sure be going back, food was excellent service was great and the owner was there to greet people and very nice. The price for food was very cheap for how much food u get. A+ for this place

Went here Monday for lunch since I had a training session nearby. This place is small, but nice. I got the shawarma sandwich with a side of rice. The sandwich was very good and filling. The staff was very friendly though they did seem a bit short handed. It is definitely worth a try.

Food here overall is excellent. Ordered the falafel appetizer, which was amazing. Cooke to perfection. Also had the humus as my salad choice with pita bread. The humus was pretty good. Not exceptional but still decent. For my entree I had the lamb chops. 1 was cooked perfect te other 2 where pretty dry. I didn't find the chops to be very flavorful and only about 3 ounces of actual meat. The rice it was served with was amazing, and bursting with flavor. But the absolute surprise of the meal was the lentil soup. Omg. It was packed full of flavor. It was really something special (and I usually don't like lentils).

I thought my lunch was beef good. I ordered two falafel and hey came out hot served with a very good creamy taziki sauce. I will order again. The chicken shawarma plate was equally as delicious. The rice was perfect and very goo. I really liked the Greek salad dressing. All and all a very good lunch.

I think that this restaurant was quite a lot of fun to dine there. Although one waitress on the lunch today, I think she did a good job in terms of service. The hummus had a nice presentation and a great taste. My mom's gyro was good. It had a nice taste and this along with all the other sandwiches have a side salad. My beef shawarma sandwich was exceptionally well done and cooked perfectly. The dining area is quite clean and without anything bad about it. I would go back there again.

First time here and the meals were very authentic. I'll tell you one reason I know is because my redneck friend I ate with liked almost nothing - which tells me that there is not an American twist on any of the food here to appease even him. The hummus was very good and very smooth and tasted great with the olive oil that came with it. The waitress brought me a side of "hot sauce" when I asked for my meal to be spicy. I did not find out until the end that I paid $1.75 for about 1 ounce of tomato paste that was not very spicy. The tzaziki sauce had a delicious flavor of cucumber and garlic to it. It was very fluffy and light. However, for a small side dish it was nearly 3 dollars. The pita bread served with it was perfect. My Kalaya dish had plenty of al dente, long grain basmati rice to go with the main course. I would recommend this place to anyone trying to make a Greek or Middle Eastern friend feel at home.

Yeah I thought this was a gem of a place with great service! Most everything was flavorful and fresh at a good price. Definitely get the stuffed grape leaves! They're warm and only topped by the baklava for desert!

Passing through on a road trip, this place had good reviews and was along our route. We were not disappointed. Portions were huge, prices wen't high. With the included sides, I got bits of everything I wanted without having to order a bunch of appetizers. Everything tasted great. Service was good. Wish this was more local to me! It isn't much to look at, but Louisville folks should seek out this local gem.

Friendly people, delicious food! Had the gyro with tzatziki sauce and original baklava, the best I've had!

Let me first start off by saying that you should not judge a book by its cover, which applies in this case. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but the food is pretty good. I came for lunch, and they have several daily specials to chose from that you can view upon entering. I had the chicken shawarma plate with Arabic salad. The chicken was good, cut very finely and flavorful. But this was not like a traditional shawarma I've had before as there was no garlic sauce, which in my opinion is the best part. Maybe the sandwich is better? The others I was with had ordered one of the specials for the day and they were pleased with the dish. Try the hummus, it is some of the best I've ever had. Staff is very friendly, ask questions about the menu if you're not sure what to order. Overall good place to change it up for lunch. You will leave feeling full but not needing a 2:00 nap.

Fantastic hummus. Falafel was a little dry so, I just added hummus. Decent food for a reasonable price.

  • Amber S.

Come on, stop playing. Did you run out of tzatziki sauce and replace it with sour cream? Its fine, I just combined it with my overly runny yogurt salad....but at the very least add dill to your sour cream. Roasted vegetables were good, and the Kefta was okay. I am defiantly bias after coming back to Louisville from Chicago where Greek town kills it. Anyway, one star for trying, and another star for Kefta.

Smells Aaaaaamazing! Waitress was quick to the table, smiling from ear to ear, and very kind. Place was clean, 3 TV's, easy to get to, pleasant atmosphere. Very near the airport and my hotel so I was glad to find it rated highly on yelp. Free WiFi too. I ordered the gyro sandwich, extra tzitziki Sauce. Loved it :)

Yum. My co-worker had been telling me about this place for a while and finally today I decided to try it out. I had the Athenian chicken. It was so fresh and I can still smell the smell that permeated my car on the way back to work. My favorite thing about it all is that I still have half of it waiting in the fridge at work for tomorrow's lunch. So good.

I've driven by this restaurant on Preston Highway numerous times always thinking, I should try this place. I'm glad I did. The inside is very clean and is the case at a lot of middle eastern restaurants, the service is very matter of fact. I had the beef shawarma sandwich. It was different from shawarmas I have had in the past. The beef was shaved paper thin topped with tomatoes, onions lettuce and hummous. The hummous was really in the background. I was hoping for a more pronounced garlic and tahini flavor. The sandwich came with a side salad of shredded leaf lettuce and tomatoes dressed with oil and lemon. It was a bit over dressed and left a pool of oil on my plate. I really don't mean for this review to sound negative. I did enjoy my lunch and I will be back.

  • Jamie B.

I love the hummus and falafel. The chicken kabobs, mirage special (for 2) and falafel sandwich are my favorite dishes. The lentil soup is amazing! (I don't think it's on the menu). And don't forget the Arabic tea (hot black tea, sage and sugar).

Found this because of YELP...What a find. A little out of our typical area for dinner, but just off the highway on Preston...Easy to get to for us. Now we get there and looks a little odd from the outside, but once we got inside, very nice and very clean! VERY Friendly!!! Like super Friendly!!! Food: OUTSTANDING!!! I have eaten at a lot of Mediterranean place through the years and there Hummus ranks as some of the best I have ever had!!! All of the food we got was outstanding, very good! I got the Falafal's---very good!!! This is a must try if you in the area!!!

Pretty good Mediterranean. Had the beef kabobs with the yogurt salad. Nothing out of the ordinary, but a good value and definitely the place to go if your looking for a nice Mediterranean meal.

I love Mirage! It's great Mediterranean food for a reasonable price. They give you decent portions and the food always tastes great! A lot better than their competitor Shiraz. I recommend the falafel, it's delicious.

  • Jonathan C.

This food is a insult to true Mediterranean cuisine. The seasoning on the food was poor and the quality showed they don't give a shit about the food they serve. I ordered my order for carry out a was shorted a appetizer. I paid $17. For a side salad and a poorly made chicken curry. When I asked they man what kind of curry they used he said chicken curry. I was concerned at that point. I cook with curries and was looking for something nice. Maybe a madras curry or a Kashmir currie. No the curry was www the chicken way over cooked and the only ingredient paired with the chicken chickpeas that came from a can. They made a lot of money of me. I will never return please do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

    (1)
  • Grace H.

Not one of the best Mediterranean joints in the area, although I will say their falafel is great. The chicken shawarma is another good bet, but their lamb, beef, rice, and tzatziki sauce were the worst out of the Mediterranean places I've visited around Louisville. Try Caspian Grill or Safier.

    (2)
  • Judy H.

Good food, good service, large portions. There were plenty of selections in all categories, appetizers, entrees, salads, etc. The beef dish was very good as were the salads. I will go back next time I'm in town. It's convenient to the airport.

    (4)
  • Tiffany T.

Super delicious! I hate a falafel sandwich, basmati rice, tzatziki sauce, and baklava. Very friendly staff; offered me tea while I waited for my food to go. Would definitely recommend and return!

My fiancé and I came here for a late lunch. The meal was fantastic if you enjoy authentic middle eastern food. The hummice was exquisite and the Pitas were excellent. I will absolutely come to this restaurant again!!

My boyfriend and I have struggled to find really good Mediterranean food in Louisville that we both liked. Let's just say we liked it so much we went back two nights in a row, and we've been back a couple times since then. We've tried a couple different dishes but so far the Mirage special with the hummus and jerusalem salad is what we've enjoyed the most, and it's a steal for all the food you get. We ate a lot at the restaurant and still had plenty for leftovers. One night we went they even gave us free lentil soup while we waited for our soup. Lentil soup I can usually pass on but he really enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to many more trips back in the future!

My 1st time here and was unbelievable delicious!! Highly recommended for everyone who love to try new dishes in your journey of your life!!! Love it! And the place is smell very good , nice n clean!! Definitely will go back and bring all my friends here! The best Mediterranean food in town so far !! I ordered mixed kabob and was so good , so now i knew what im going to order next time! Don't forget to try some appetizers! I love all appetizers , special that graves leaves salad , was sooooooo deeeeeeeeliciossssssss!!!!

Ordered chicken and beef kabobs. Both tasted bad. Meat tasted off and very chewy. Couldn't eat any of it for fear of getting sick. Do not go to this restaurant. Save your money!!

Mirage has become my top destination for Mediterranean food in Louisville. When I have a hankering for falafel and baba ganouj I have no problem driving twenty minutes across town to get it. The baba is excellent. And the falafel is made with a spice that distinguishes it from others in town. I can't place my finger on what it is, and the front of house manager won't divulge. I've also enjoyed the chicken kebobs. The various side salads are very good too. My only complaint is the past two times I've visited there has been some confusion about a couple menu options. Both times what I thought I should receive with my meal is not what showed up at the table. Either I got something extra, or I paid for an extra item I didn't receive. It's a pretty minor complaint, but worth noting because it's happened twice in a row. I'll certainly keep coming back. But I do wish they would rewrite the menu, or retrain serving staff.

  • Chephirah A.

I loved this place. Especially the in house made desserts. I couldn't believe how good they were. We got the Mirage Special. The menu says it feeds 2 but it can easily feed 3-4. The prices are also very reasonable. We will be returning.

  • Norman F.

I ate here a couple of times during a recent stay in Louisville. The second time I ate here the young lady behind the counter rang up a different price from the previous day. When I called her on it, she explained that the owner changed the price. When I complained how that was "false advertising", she told me to take it up with him. One of the cooks, when he saw I was not happy, approached and told me they get a lot of people who complain about the same issue. He gave me the business card of the owner. I tried to call and complain to him but he conveniently did not answer. The food was otherwise good but since the owner is Middle Eastern he does not understand that you cannot advertise one price then charge another. I won't go back.

Oh, yum! We have found our new favorite "Mediterranean" place! I did remember getting a carryout from the old Little Jerusalem and loving it. This new location is a vast improvement from the old location and building of Little Jerusalem. The room is much brighter and larger with many more seats. The food: we were shown the day's specials behind the counter as soon as we came in. I was beyond myself with the choices: baked sumac chicken, meat loaf, roasted veggies, another chicken with a tomatoey sauce; you get the main entree plus rice, salad, hummus and roasted veggies for $8.95. And the lamb shank is $10.95 with all of the sides mentioned. What a deal! I went for the sumac chicken (choosing leg& thigh). Mmmmmmmm, it is really exotic sounding but very homey, comfort tasting. The sumac is a middle eastern spice that lends the chicken a slight tang. The chicken is tender, soft and mild. It must have been part of a cornish game hen cuz it was smaller and more tender than a regular leg quarter. The hubby got their gyro. Their version is the kind with a large thin pita that is rolled up like a wrap. Hubby declared it one of the best he's ever had. This "wrap" style is much easier to eat than the Greek "taco fold" style. I also convinced hubby to try the falafel appetizer by describing them as "hush puppies with exotic spices"; we both really enjoyed them, too. We will definitely be back.

YES, this place is fucking legit. At mere 11 dollars a plate, you will enjoy more delicious food than you can likely handle. I've frequently enjoyed the gyro which comes with salad, rice and pita bread. The beef and lamb are deliciously seasoned, the sauce is amazing and the rice is light with just the right amount of flavor. I also recommend the falafel and hummus appetizers. This place accommodates a quick lunch or a a sit down dinner. Being new to Louisville, I find it doubtful that I will explore other Mediterranean establishments after eating here.

I was a bit skeptical to eat here for dinner. The place was empty at 5:00 when I came in. However, the food was delicious and fresh. Definitely will here again if I'm in town.

  • Amanda L.

This place was great! We got a plate of food for two people that was huge. It had falafel, various meats, rice, salads, etc. There was enough food for each of us to eat two meals. Everything was absolutely delicious and I cannot wait to go back. The servers were very friendly. The only negative was the baklava. It was really soggy and pretty bland. I've had much better baklava in different places around town. The other foods were great though.

I am blown away with the reviews this place received. I checked yelp before going....my how disappointing. Greek Salad, Falafel and Lentil Soup. Greek salad was mediocre with canned black olives. The Falafel was not bad a little over seasoned the Lentil soup was too salty to continue. I just moved here from Michigan where there is a large Mediterranean Culture with the best food....this was very disappointing. I gave it a 2 star because of the friendly customer service!

  • Kate V.

I'm big on Mirage. At most Mediterranean restaurants, I'm just happy to get a good gyro, but here they broaden my horizons of what the cuisine can be. My personal favorite is chicken shawarma as an entree rather than a sandwich. Whether you want to stay and dine or get your order to go, staff is friendly and attentive and will give you a tiny bowl of soup while you wait! While Mirage doesn't try to look fancy, it certainly aims to impress with great food and good service.

  • April S.

Tried this for lunch today, and had the falafel entree. Wow, their falafel is so great! Their hummus is very good, but not amazing. The Jerusalem salad was excellent! It was so good that I decided to go back for dinner. I had the falafel and Jerusalen salad AGAIN. Yummy yum yum! I also had the Arabic and the Turkish salad. I wasn't fond of these two, but I don't like raw onion anyway. So, it was probably a preference thing since it was fresh, and I really wanted to like the Turkish salad. I probably would have like it if it were made with scallions instead of white onions. Service during lunch was okay, a little on the slow side, but there was only one waitress for the entire place, and she was handling calls, and ringing up the bills. Dinner was faster. There was still a single waitress, though not as many tables.

This is Louisville's hidden gem of Mediterranean. Forget Safier, forget Yafa, forget Shiraz. Those places have their standard go-to plates that you will always enjoy. But if you want a whole experience, Mirage is certainly no mirage in the Louisville oasis of foodie culture. I can't attest to the environment inside, but as we passed through it, it looked pretty nondescript. This is okay! Focus on the food, not always on the surroundings, it only accentuates the flavors. The outdoor seating leaves something to be desired. Since you're sitting on Preston, near the Watterson, you're going to hear the noises of the street. The food, this is why you came, is delicious. The lentil rice will fill you up and the falafels are guaranteed to hit the right spots in your belly. For all the food you can get, the price is really good too. The wait staff is friendly and the dining experience is nice and casual. Do yourself a favor and indulge for a meal. Again this is no mirage, this is a reality in fine Mediterranean cuisine.

This place is deceptively fantastic. Having visited town multiple times & gone up/down Preston Highway each time, I can honestly say this place never once caught my eye. Low-key building combined with being right next to some automotive detail business, it's easy to miss. That being said, the inside is very welcoming, while it wasn't very busy. Our waitress was wonderful & we quickly got our food as a party of 5. Our initial appetizer of hummus was perfect, drizzled with olive oil & seasonings, paired with baskets of fresh pita bread. Shortly after we dove into the appetizer, our waitress brought us each a small complimentary lentil soup that was very much appreciated & delicious. After that pleasant surprise, our entrees arrived soon after. There were a few mix ups with various gyros & the waitress didn't appear to know which was actually which with the various toppings we had picked, but no big deal. The meat was cooked to perfection with just the right amount of traditional tetziki sauce & toppings. I also ordered a side of falafel, which I had honestly never tried but had heard great things. It seemed a bit overcooked/fried to my unexperienced taste buds but other members of my party agreed they were a bit more crisp than they'd have liked. Aside from that, they were great. Plenty of leftovers too! Once we had all had our fill, the waitress brought checks over & we were even more impressed. I've been to multiple hole-in-the-wall gyro joints & spent clearly far too much for mediocre Mediterranean when for the same price (if not less), I could get a variety of awesome dishes. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a good meal with great service at a super reasonable price.

Good Mediterranean, a nice alternative if you're not able to get to Little Jerusalem. Very pleasant decor and friendly service. Food is good, but slightly more Americanized Mediterranean versus authentic. Not the best, but good none the less.

Such good Mediterranean food. Did not expect it in Louisville. I travel to Louisville for a work a lot and the customer we have here is...lets just say an extremely stressful one. We work all the time and let alone get time to eat. So when we do come across a nondescript restaurant like this with amazingly delicious food its a treat. The food was fresh, promptly cooked and all the meat eaters said, they felt sorry that I didn't eat any meat. I ate the falafel and the hummus and the lentil rice. OMG! The lentil rice was delicious, well seasoned, not overcooked at all and just so flavorful. They were very generous with the olive oil on the hummus which is always a good thing and the sprinkled paprika on the hummus. Not a lot of places do that, and I usually have to request them to do it. But considering they did it, they really know how to make food taste good. The server was very nice, and cracked a lot of jokes (not always good, but hey, A for effort) which made the mood light. Thanks y'all, I will be coming again to eat here next time I am in Louisville.

Authentic and simply delicious!! Not a very seasoned Mediterranean foodie so I was pleased they had pictures. Oh...and the little dish of starter lentil soup had my husband and I wanting to lick the bowl! Yes folks it was THAT good! The grilled veggies with rice was delish and not void of flavors at all.

Found this on Yelp on our drive home to Detroit. Coming from an area with the largest middle eastern population we weren't sure if the food would be comparable to metro Detroit's middle eastern cuisine. We were pleasantly surprised. Great food and very clean. Hommous was creamy and smooth the way it's supposed to be. Fattoush was also excellent. Great service.

It was clean and quiet. I ordered the falafel light meal. It was good but I liked the food at Little Jerusalem Cafe better. They dont have such a nice place but definitely better food snd bigger portions.

So rumor has it the folks that used to manage Little Jerusalem closed down that location and opened Mirage Mediterranean. The location is off the beaten path and the decor is 'meh' but the food is solid. We had the 2-person combo platter that was good - plenty of food - but not amazing. The falafel appetizer was the best I've ever had. The baklava...I need to learn to make baklava. Until that time, I'd eat their baklava again. Next time I'm gunnin' for the kebobs or lamb, especially after reading some of the other reviews. Will most definitely be back.

Really good food. Built in an old pizza place, we weren't expecting much. We just got off the plane from Phoenix and needed a bite to eat, Yelp to the rescue. We got our order to go because we just wanted to get home. the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We got the chicken kabobs and shawarma chicken. They flavors were spot on! Also enjoyed the rice a lot, lots of flavor and not too wet or dry. Now the chicken was a little dry but we attribute that to the 30 minute drive home. The only complaint was that the pita bread was a little thick but that might be a preference thing. Good stuff, highly recommended. Please note, this is not a fine dining establishment, more of a diner experience.

Some of the best Mediterranean food in Louisville. The platter for two is a great sampler of their offerings, and is generous.

No complaints! Friendly service & the best Mediterranean grilled chicken I've had outside Erbil. Tetziki sauce is very good.

Hidden gem for mediterranean food, too bad it is located on the so far from where I live. If they had a location in the east end, they would be the new place everyone was talking about. We had the Mirage special which gave us a sample of what they had to offer. Everything was good and we left stuffed. I do wish the pita bread was better, but other than that no complaints. It is worth the drive for a craving of something different.

Well...first of all I do not normally eat Mediterranean food but this place makes me want to start doing just that. The value is basically outstanding as the food is very good my only minor complaint is that on a few occasions that ive been here they were out of Tetziki sauce. This place is operated by the same people who ran Little Jerusalem, which was close to me and i remember my few visits there and loving it. This new location is a vast improvement from the old location on the inside as the room is much brighter and larger with many more seats. There are many dishes to recommend, but my personal favorite are the gyros which never disappoint and I especially love the fact that they load it with feta...mmmm Good!

This place has great food and great staff! They are welcoming and friendly. Our waitress was very attentive. We ordered the Athenian chicken entree and holy garlic! If you are a garlic lover, it is a must!

Delicious! This mediterranean grill is somewhere in between casual fine dining, family dinner, and an upscale kebab shop with a great food quality to price ratio. Prices range from $5.95 (sandwiches) to $15.00 (dinner platters). The lambchops were excellent: cooked exactly right with a nice char on the outside and medium rare tender meat inside. The lamb kebabs were also delicious and tender. The (gyro) shwarma hummous was delicious and a generous serving for the price. We had driven by this place for the last two years and finally gave it a try. The interior was nicely decorated and extremely clean. We will add this to our list of restaurants for a family dinner out. No beer, wine or alcohol.

Since I really liked Little Jerusalem and was sad when I drove up last fall and it was closed, I was very happy to see Al's review that this place was the same owner's new restaurant venture. First, some practical advice: Their new building has a nice sign out front but if you are heading south on Preston, you don't see it until you pass their entrance. The parking lot is on the NORTH side of the building which still has some old pizza place signs attached. Now for the good stuff-- the food was delicious, just as good as Little Jerusalem and even done a little nicer presentation on the plate. All 3 entrees tonight were quite tasty and served with pita that was toasted just enough for some crunch but still mostly soft and warm. We ordered off the section of the menu marked "lighter eats" which I have decided means "enough to stuff yourself at dinner but not enough to take home." Prices are good, with the light plates at $7.95 and the larger entrees under $10 (except for lamb and a platter made for 2 people). There were a few booths and a fair number of tables, larger than their previous location and nicer interior finishings. Very clean. The service was quick and friendly although we were the only ones dining at a kind of early hour (a few people stopped for take-out). I hope they do well at this location because I intend to return.

One of my goto restaurants in town. The food is super good and the portions are very generous. I'm a vegetarian and easily have 10 yummy options. I would rate this place higher than any Mediterranean place in town (maybe tied with the Grapeleaf, but the prices are better at Mirage). I highly recommend the baba ganoush, vegetarian mujdara and falafel. For meat eaters, my husband gets the hummus shwarma which comes with three salads!

This is outstanding, halal Arab food! I was traveling through town with my wife and we had a chance to eat here with some relatives. I did not think that Kentucky could produce authentic Arab cuisine like kebab, kofta, fatoush, hummus, etc., but I was wrong. I am really looking forward to returning. Please get the mirage platter (2 or 3 salads, 3 meats, rice, etc.), Also, they have a wonderful grilled chicken on top of hummus and their tea is great too!
