Went for dinner on a Tuesday night, very skeptical I love sapporo but this was better, the server was very helpful and the apps and sushi were REALLY GOOD!!! The sushi is not over sauced it's fresh great flavors, and the best part for me is they can do a lot of them with no rice. Just moved close to this place it's perfect, try it you won't be sorry.

Food was good and prices reasonable...but one waitress at 6 pm on a Friday sucks. That said, as a waitress I have been there. The key is to be kind to your tables and apologetic. It goes a long way. Our waitress was annoyed. The gal who was the hostess was amazing. She was sprinting through the restaurant and was kind and sweet....may have been an off night so don't pass the food up.

Best sushi in town! Been to Japan and Masa is right up there in taste, quality and consistency. Highly recommend.

Great place to grab some sushi, but it does not play traditional music. If that's what you want go someplace else. Sushi is always good, lots of variety and all of it is good. Price isn't too bad, won't break the bank unless you order for a large group or just are stingy and don't under stand that cheap sushi isn't good sushi

This place was very good and the sushi is fresh and reasonably priced. Went with the hubby and two friends. We all ordered a couple sushi rolls per person, salads, soup, etc. Will definitely be back and also planning in going for lunch.

My wife and I are big habachi fans, not too much on sushi. The habachi is great, fresh, and reasonably priced. Not a big fan of the pop music that is a couple levels too high, but this restaurant is not too crowded and one of the better Japanese restaurants in the area. There are many other habachi/sushi options nearby and this one tops them all. Many of our other friends we have attended this with feel the same.

This place is good and the rolls are tasty. The sashimi is fresh tasting but my only complaint is the size of the rolls. They have the standard 5 or 8 sliced rolls but they are the smallest that I have ever seen and for the price you would think that you could at least get the standard size. I'm not one to complain about cost of sushi because I believe you need to pay for good, fresh fish. But, these rolls were smaller than usual. I wasn't a big fan of the tempura, I think the batter was too thick. The chicken teriyaki was okay, my daughter enjoyed it. Overall, it's not bad but I think it could be better for the price.

Quick service. Good sushi. Not the best sushi in town, but very good. Would recommend to anyone.

Hands down the best Japanese sushi in town! I love the fire roll, red bull, the uni was unbelievably fresh. The best thing is that they make their own tamago (egg) in house for the tamago sushi, so delicious!!

Great restaurant! We go there with friends and two of us don't like sushi. Masa has a great selection on non-sushi dishes, I especially like the yakasobi noodles with chicken. The sushi eaters are equally happy. The selection is wide and very well prepared. There are many varieties of rolls and I ( one of the non-sushi eaters) even tried one. The Hawaiian roll had tempura shrimp, crab, avocado, asparagus and cream cheese with toasted pecans. It was delicious. We've taken kids with us and both loved the tempura shrimp and teriyaki chicken. Beer and wine selection is good and the service is gold standard. If your in Middletown, don't pass on this one! It's the best!

This place was amazing! Super fresh sushi and fantastic service! I loved every bite of the lunch bento box I ordered - it came with rice, sushi, tempura and chicken terriyaki :)

First time here at Masa. I Love Sushi and this place did not disappoint. We ordered two rolls and Tuna Tataki. The Tataki had a sweet Miren sauce that lingered so delightfully I wish I had two platefuls. It did not have all the extra seasonings that can take away from good seafood. The tuna flavor really shined through and held it's own. The Thunder roll had tuna and shrimp and a surprising crunch with just enough rice that did not over power the mouth when you took a bite. The Lucky Roll was tuna topped with a fruity mango that was so light and fresh it melted in your mouth. I will visit this place again and again.

I didn't know I was a sushi person... Until a friend insisted I try masa. My life has been changed forever. There are many restaurants in Louisville that I love, but this is my absolute, hands down, favorite. I haven't had a roll yet that I haven't fallen in love with. Very fresh & oh so flavorful. If I haven't had my masa fix this week, you can officially consider me "hangry". It's usually the two same women working on the floor. When it gets busier, you do end up waiting a little bit longer. So it seems they need some extra help. I don't mind waiting though - I know the end product is going to be amazing!

We went to a sushi making class and most of the people there said they loved Masa. We had not been, but we will be back, now that we have. They made sushi from a picture we showed them. Very friendly service. We liked all the rolls we has. The Rock Star was a special and was delicious. The Avocado appetizer was wonderful.

What can I say as to I've been coming here nearly 5 days a week for the last month due to a project. Coming from LA, I wasn't expecting much but was thoroughly surprised. The chefs are knowledgable and overwhelmingly personable, but most of all, the food quality is consistent - day in/day out. I'll be back here again.

I wish I could give this place a more positive rating. The food is pretty good. Service SUCKS!. It took 20 mins for us to get a waitress. Then our entree was lukewarm. We got soup & salad after our entree. We only received the soup & salad when we asked for them. No apology from the waitress. Can't comeback on general principle.

The sushi we had was good quality (5 stars), but I was surprised to find out that the next day after paying at this restaurant (by credit card), somebody went on a shopping spree at various local Louisville stores using the card. Fortunately, I have not used this credit card for a while, so I was immediately notified of a fraud alert from the credit card company. I would recommend paying in cash to anyone who comes here, and to check your past history for extraneous charges if you have previously used a card here.

Excellent food and a great variety. Casual, laid-back atmosphere. Fun drinks. The sushi rolls are creative and unusual. Lots of great choices that don't involve fried anything, which is a welcome change from lots of sushi establishments. You will walk away stuffed and happy. Full but still planning on trying a dessert.

Im soooo torn as to what rating i'll give this establishment ... which is probably why I've waited so long to review it. I LOVE it here, yet there's just one minor "nails on a chalkboard" thing ... 5 STARS: FOOD/CLEANLINESS- They always have great sushi, no matter when we decide to go (usually a late Sunday lunch). Great quality and flavor is spot on. We've never been disappointed :) plus, the restaurant amd bathrooms have always been clean. 2 STARS: EMBIANCE- To me, having a sushi experience is all about taking in the atmosphere while enjoying my company and great sushi. I want to hear the bamboo shakuhachi or the strum of a koto ... Not Sirius XMs top 40 radio. Unfortunately, this past time we went, we couldn't get out of there fast enough :/ I don't want to hear Miley Cyrus, or Kane west or even macklemore while I'm eating my Philly roll and miso soup. Totally ruins the experience :( So, I've settled with a 3.5 ... Maybe I'll get some take out later ... Because it is oh so good :)

While I can't give this place 5 stars because of service i usually get the katsu and of course the ginger dressing on my salad is always good the service is almost always slow
