Had not been to this Golden Corral in awhile. Saw an ad for the new sandwich bar and thought it sounded really different. Was I wrong. Barely any meat for sandwichs, no roast beef as advertised and the bread was not with sandwich items. On top of that the service was awful. I know they have cut back on staff but our server never once asked if she could get us anything. The fried chicken was good as usual, so you can get enough to eat, but they are falling down on service and keeping up with what they advertise. Will not go back until I get rid of the bad taste it left.

It's buffet with anything you want. Burgers n fries for kids, salad with all the fruit trimmings, tacos, steak, beef n potatoes, yeast rolls, corn bread, and the desserts with ice cream.

My family and I have never been to Golden Corral before and totally cut in line to pay by accident (thought it was two registers). When we realized what we did we were so embarrassed and apologized profusely, they were so nice about it (and thankfully the lady we cut was too) and our server, Jessica, was amazing and so genuine. We will be going back (and waiting our turn this time)

I don't really want to admit it...but I do like Golden Corral. When I crave consistently good American food with no waiting, this is where I get my fix. Pros: I love the fried chicken liver, soft but not mushy, never over-fried like they are at Cracker Barrel; I love the fried chicken. Tender, juicy and seasoned just right. I've even grown to like the plain but fresh steamed broccoli and cauliflower. They make me feel good about eating the pile of fried chicken and liver. Cons: The bathroom has never seemed clean enough; never smelled fresh; as long as I can help it, I don't go there.

If youve read past reviews you might be feeling cautious about going but we went and it was great. The macaroni and cheese is no longer watery, the taco meat is a bit spicy but with good flavor. I didnt eat the chicken but it looks good and we had great service. They have a great selection and the people are friendly and helpful. The vegetables were fresh i mean you can even see them being cut. I give it four stars!

Golden Corral is kind-of a guilty pleasure. There are some misses, in my opinion, but some of the food is spot-on. There are seven distinct food stations at Golden Corral: Greenhouse (salad bar), Hacienda (Mexican), Wok (Chinese), Lighthouse Bay (seafood), The Grillhouse (meats), The Piazza (comfort foods), and the Brass Bell Bakery (bread and desserts). The salad bar is really good: one of the best I have seen, with both prepared salads and raw ingredients. Surprisingly, the Hacienda is pretty good. They have a very nice house made pico de gallo, and when they have guacamole, it's the real deal. I'm not a huge fan of The Wok or Lighthouse Bay, but I suppose they're both okay. I think Lighthouse Bay is as good as Red Lobster. The Grillhouse is good! They have steak at night, and it's usually nicely cooked, flavorful and tender. The thing you shouldn't miss at The Grillhouse is the baked sweet potatoes (wrapped in gold foil). They're fantastic: light and fluffy! The Piazza is good if you're in the mood for comfort food. There's nothing there I have to have, but the meatloaf and fried chicken are pretty good. They also normally have vegetables that haven't been cooked to death. Everything is pretty good in the bakery. Don't miss the freshly baked yeast rolls! I also enjoy the banana pudding. They have candy fountains: marshmallow, chocolate and caramel. This isn't my cup of tea, but it seems to be very exciting for kids! The freshly blown cotton candy has the same kind of appeal. Service at Golden Corral is hit or miss. It's a buffet, but I still want my drink refilled and my table kept clean. I always look for a reason to tip well. Tonight. I seem to have chosen the "no service zone," which, not coincidentally, is also the "tip free zone."

Value for the money blows quite a bit tonight. Food is either too salty or flavorless. Selection is also really bad considering you pay $12 a person. Havent been here in years and i remember it being better. Will be next to never when I come back.

    I. Have eaten here many times but this time my chicken was waiting to collect social security. I was very disappointed

Let me say first that I have eaten at several different Golden Corral Restaurants, mostly in Indiana and this was one of the worst I have been at. We were there on a Wednesday evening around 6 pm. It was not very busy which I was surprised at that hour (should of been a clue). The "mexican bar" was really disgusting. The meat looked like it had been sitting there all day and was dried up. There was just a few salads and a lot of the food was very low and looked like it had been sitting there awhile. The one really thing was the fried chicken. It was hot and juicy. The other bright spot was our server Lucy. She kept the table clean and glasses filled, which we left a generous tip for. We were in Louisville traveling for my husbands business. I probably won't be visiting this restaurant again.

I have eaten at a golden corral only one other time about 6 years ago, and I wanted to find a buffet with a great variety. Though they have a great variety of food, the quality is not. It reminded me of hospital food, or food that you would serve at a homeless shelter or nursing home. I would go and get a plate of food and maybe eat a quarter of it. They probably thought I was just wasting food, but I just couldn't eat it. The taco bar was just too spicy, I mean very spicy, and the taco shells were stale. The chicken was not crunchy, the mac & cheese was watered down and most everything else...well it just wasn't! The only things I really ate were about 5 rolls, the small steaks, hush puppies and blueberry muffins. My 5 year old son told me the whip cream was yucky, and he loves food, he didn't eat the mac and cheese and he said the pizza was hard. I don't think i'll be going back. It seemed more like a processed food bar rather than that home cooked meal you are looking for. I think that if they had better quality food, than I would pay more to eat there.

When I'm in the mood for a buffet, this one cannot be beat (with the exception of other GC locations in town). The bad: It's a "corral" alright. The tables are packed tight--a little too close in my opinion. When it gets crowded, the risk of getting stepped on his high. I literally feel like in I'm a herd bumbling my way to the taco station. The good: Selection, selection, selection. For all-you-can-eat around ten bucks, you will not find a better, fresher selection. Many buffets in town started off with a bang, but then quickly deteriorated. This national chain moved in to town several years ago and, in my opinion, is just as good, if not better, than day one. Again, it's a ten dollar buffet. Do not expect anything more. One has to be fair when rating.

Watching your omelet float on a pan of oil was the last thing I needed to see to know how things are cooked here. It may be cheap and wide variety but food quality is not up to my standards. Not even an option for me anymore, if I am eating out and it's going to be bad for me it might as well taste amazing. Some people love it and if you are a buffet person I hear it leads that category.

This was my first and last time at this restaurant. Buffets are not my thing. And this one looks to have one goal, get America fatter. Sampled the fried chicken, broccoli, brussel sprouts, garlic biscuits, salad bar and desert bar. Nothing about it is 4 or 5 stars.

Note: As of the review, I haven't been here for almost a year and half. But I went the last 5 years about 10 times, so I hope it hasn't changed. It made a very favorable impression on me since it was my first experience with this chain. Golden Corral is a franchise buffet, I seen them in Pennsylvania and Kentucky. They aren't common like McDonalds, but there is definitely a consistent setup. Now that I've been to some, considering the price paid, they rank from 1 star to 5 stars. The better ones tend to be in the south imo, more "southern hospitality" from the waittresses perhaps. When they're "5 star", it really is a bargain to get some steak and home-made chow. And it's usually filled to the brim way past 8pm to reflect that. This is one of those "5 star" ones. When they seat you, a server promptly brings a stack of clean plates, steaming fresh rolls with honeybutter packets, and ask everyone for their drink selection. The rest of the night their job is to clear dirty plates away, bring new ones, and refill drinks. If they're any good, which they are here, they earn as good tip from me as any waiter in a normal establishment for this service. There is a salad bar, soup, rustic food, and some mexican/asian/other dishes perhaps, a steak station where they cook up a cheap cut (Chuck?) to how you want it, and dessert. It's clean, it's fresh, it's rather well-made food. At a good golden corral, the workers really hussle and are busy. This is one of them, and I recommend it. It's also a money-saver for the price vs anything a level above fast-food.
