Good lunch. Friendly service and quick. Pork had a good smoke. Sauces are good a little in the sweet side. Shoe string fries are very good and I liked the slaw. Will be back for sure. One of the better bbq places in Louisville.

Greeting warmly by friendly staff, ordered a dinner plate to share with my daughter. Pulled pork very moist and flavorful - sauce selection on table - we used Rain and Sweet. Ordered French fries which were delicious shoestrings with seasoning and potato salad - both were quite good. Coke products on fountain and very clean atmosphere. I'll definitely be back!

I love this place my Co workers and I eat here at least once a week and my wife and I eat lunch there at least once a month. You can not pass up there lunch prices.

I come here somewhat often for lunch since I work just a couple minutes down the road. I've always ordered the same thing because I always like it too much to do anything else: half pound of pulled pork with a bun and a side of potato salad. I usually end up too full to finish and get a small take away container. I've never been disappointed but I guess I should branch out and try some of the other BBQ that smells so good whenever I'm there.

I'm giving this place 5 stars because my husband loves it, it's a nice atmosphere, good prices, and some of the best fries around in my opinion. But, FDKY should attempt being awesome by adding some vegetarian friendly selections, hint hint!

I had the pulled pork dinner w/Chicago Fire sauce with the cole slaw and Mac n Chz as sides. A+ my wife had the chk & dumplings with a pulled sandwich and it looked great. We Both loved our food! If you like BBQ you can't go wrong with this place.

Similar to one of my favorites FireFresh which has no locations near me now. Meats are average, a few good sauces to choose from, prices are reasonable. Fries were just like FireFresh, potato salad was solid. I would pass on the Mac n cheese, seemed like it had been sitting on some buffet line for hours. Also skip the chili, it says award winning, but I would love to know when and where that took place. Very greasy and soup like consistency. Yeah it tasted like chili but not good chili, maybe something on a chilli burger or fries . Great set up inside, took a lot of time and money to make it look nice. I would return if in the area and craving bbq but I have other favorites I would think of first when I want bbq.

I had the fish sandwich (only on Friday) and it was pretty good. Would be willing to come back. The onion rings and fries were awesome too.

It's just OK....nothing special. Chicken had good flavor but was really dry. My wife had a sampler and the brisket was nothing more than fat and gristle. Pork was OK. Sides were just OK, really nothing special. Had higher hopes and was a little disappointed. Cool atmosphere and decor, food just made it lackluster.

If you had been to Bruce's BBQ or Fire Fresh then you have an idea what this place is about. It's pretty simple solid BBQ that I hope sticks around. Not a huge menu but they have all of the staples: pork, brisket, ribs etc and plenty of sides. There are 3 different sauces to choose from as well. Located in Jtown right across from Kingpin Lanes. Definitely worth checking out!!

What a great little find! We visited on a Monday so I was sad to read the menu and find what they call "Wednesday Ribs". When I sadly asked the girl if their ribs were really only available on Wednesdays, she told me that they'd changed their Wednesday ribs to Everyday ribs but hadn't yet changed the menu. Dine-in or take out, order at the counter and they bring it to you as it's ready, very clean, cute theme/decor, reasonably priced, DELICIOUS ribs. Menu seemed a little small - I guess we'd just prefer more options. You basically choose from a few BBQ sandwich options or ribs. My husband really wanted a platter type option- forget the sandwich.. He was hoping for a 2-meat choice (maybe brisket, pulled pork, a side and served w Texas toast) They're a relatively new establishment and we hope it sticks around!

Went here on a Friday night at 6ish and it was pretty busy, but there were only 4 people I'm front of us to order, so not too bad. We got take out and waited about 15 min. It's pretty small inside but there are some nice tvs and a good mix of small and large tables. The staff was friendly and working hard to get orders out quickly. We got pulled pork, mac and cheese and onion rings and tried the sweet BBQ and Kentucky rain sauces. The pulled pork was really good, smoky and moist. Mac and cheese was good, but not the best I've had at a BBQ place. The onion rings were great, very crunchy, not too greasy and good sized. The sweet BBQ sauce was not too sweet and had a little kick to it as well. The rain sauce is vinegar based which I didn't care for, but if you like vinegar you may like it! We'll definitely be back here!

This is a great BBQ restaurant! Take Mayor Daley's advice and visit this restaurant early and often. You can't go wrong here. The Wed rib special is unbelievable!

BBQ is good. I am a bbq fan. I do not like the green beans, they are too salty or something. Fries are good, sandwiches are good.

While I did not actually dine in, I did enjoy the BBQ. It was catered to my sister's house warming party. The BBQ was tender and typical for BBQ. There were only two sauces to pick from. Both of them were okay but nothing special or to rave about. The potato salad was on point. If potato salad is on the menu, I am going to try it. FDKY's potato salad did not disappoint. The green beans were just okay like the BBQ sauce. The green beans were not undercooked or overcooked but still just okay.

I'm a huge BBQ fan, eating it & smoking it. My wife & I ate lunch today for the first time at FDKY BBQ in J-town & I can honestly say it's the best BBQ I've had here in Louisville. Great meat & 3 different really good sauces. If you get a chance, give them a try!

Great food I had the sampler great brisket and pork. The sausage reminded me of Texas BBQ. Great sauces and sides

Not very good :( I tried the combo platter. The chicken was good, but a little dry. The brisket was inedible. The only thing on my plate were cubes of fat. No meat at all on any of the brisket pieces, just cubes of fat. Absolutely disgusting!!!!! The atmosphere is nice, but we won't be going back any time soon.

Stopped into this bbq joint on Taylorsville for lunch. The first thing that struck me was the smell. There wasn't any. Usually you can smell a bbq from a mile away. I looked around back and saw there giant industrial wood burner, but it was idle for whatever reason. I ordered the pulled pork combo. Pulled pork fries and a drink for $6.50. Not a bad deal. The pork was good but there was a real lack of color to the meat. It did not appear, or taste, to have been smoked. It tasted like roast pork. The fries were skinny cut and crispy. Really liked the fries. The house sauces were good. I liked the Chicago fire. It had a little zing but wasn't really hot. They have a little card on the table that explains smoke rings and then states that they process their meat for 20 hours. That sounds a bit mechanical. I think instead they should describe it as rubbed and cured over night then 12 hours in the smoker and finally finished off on the grill and hand pulled. I think it just sounds better and if they actually did that here I think it would taste better too.

Great atmosphere! Great food! Great sauce! I was a fan honestly. I had the marinated pulled chicken and it was fantastic great flavor. The mac n cheese was very tasty also. Baked beans had a good bbq flavor. Again very good experience.

The brisket is really good. I'm dreaming of the skillet potatoes, though. OMG! Mmm, mmm, mmmm!!!! Tasty, rounds of potatoes with burnt onions and spicy sausage. I could eat them all day long!

We decided to try this not knowing what to expect. The food was delicious I had the pulled pork and he had the chicken which were both delicious. We had two meals and a beer for $25 which is unheard of. The service was great. These are the kind of establishments I love to visit. you can tell that the owners take pride in their business. We will definitely be back
