That Katie N chick sounds like a snob. Been here 3 times now. First time, not impressed. Of course the place had only been open for a few days. My other two visits went well. Great food. The bartender was talkative and friendly. They have daily specials. You can drink here for cheap.

Although I've eaten at El Nopal many times, today was my first visit to this particular location. My first impression was how clean this restaurant was! Floors, tables, even the bathroom were completely spotless. El Nopal restaurants are typically kept nice and clean, but this one was noticeably so. Service was typical of this type of restaurant- pleasant but not overly attentive, which I always enjoy. We got our food very quickly, and it was as good or better than usual. Everything was nice and fresh- as good or better than usual. I would definitely visit again.

So I just picked up my carryout.... Got home... No tomatillo and got hung up on when I complained. I will never go back to this place and tell everyone in this world to never go back. They've screwed me too many times. And to top it off hung up on me when they did wrong. I never complain! But this place sucks. Leave bardstown road. As a chef.... U guys are a disgrace to my business.

I went with the family here and had a very nice meal. We were seated immediately on a Saturday night. We ordered mixed fajitas and they were large and tasty. The food came out right away and was hot and fresh. A $4 margarita, queso fundido, attentive service, and a decent kids menu made this a four star visit. I'd like to return for the $15 60 oz. margarita pitcher someone sans kids. This place took over the old This Siam spot. I will miss their pad thai but the chuletas & Simply Thia will help offset this loss. On a side note...I was surprised to be hit up going in and coming out by panhandlers... One who was arrested as we were leaving for a very valid reason I will not list here. I say surprised as I've lived here all my life and this is the first time I've encountered this in this shopping center.

TERRIBLE service! Easily the slowest service I've experienced at one of these establishments. The waiter acted as if any requests (like, you know, glasses of water at the table) were the most annoying requests imaginable, and we waited for a significant length of time for any food at all. I will NEVER return to this El Nopal again, and will deter my friends from coming here. There are much nicer places around here with much better service.

We have been here twice. Both times the staff has been attentive and friendly. Food has been served quickly and delicious! The fish tacos are SO GOOD!!!

Pretty decent restaurant. Good drink prices. Fajitas are a little above average. The carne Asada was not as good though. Very tough skirt steak and not much flavor.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
