I've been wanting to try Atlantic No.5 for a while now, but it was the 502 Lunch Week desk that finally got me in the door. Parking can be a challenge in this part of downtown, do I went late and scored a spot just dish the block. Sandwiches normally range from $6 - 11 (some come with chips & a side). They also have soups, salads, and some bowls (hummus, chicken/tuna salad, panzanella). The bakery case looked amazing and include scones, cookies, cakes, and no-bake bars. I ordered combo #1 from the special, lunch week menu for a mere $10. For that, I got the A5 grilled cheese, a side of Lebanese bean salad, some chips, a few pickles, a can of Coke, and a cookie!!! The grilled cheese is a delicious combination of smoked gouda, caramelized onions, and asiago bread. The cute, Mason jar of bean salad was filled with limas, kidney, and garbanzos with onion, celery and fill (which could have been chopped a bit smaller for my taste). A few slices of perfect (homemade?) pickle was tucked next to my sandwich. Crunchy chips and an icy Coke rounded out the meal. I had high hopes for the lemon cookie (only one choice available with combo). It turned out to be a shortbread. Delicate and crumbly, but no real lemon taste. It would've been good paired with coffee but not a great ending to my suburb lunch. Atlantic No.5 has regular lunch combinations and I'll be sure to drop in next time I'm looking for a gourmet lunch on Main St.

In a jungle of chain restaurants there stands this single cafe in downtown Louisville. A minority. An individual. The facade and sign is simple, as is their menu. The interior is rustic and clean. Cotton white walls with an accent wall in a light shaded gray, and empty mason jars lining the shelves. You feel a sense of calm just sitting in this room. It doesn't take away from the focal point, the counter in the middle of the room. Just because the menu is simple, it doesn't take away from the flavor of their food or that they make everything from scratch in their kitchen. We had breakfast here, and I had ordered the biscuit with egg, bacon, and Gouda cheese. You have a choice of cheese so if you don't like Gouda, you have two other options. The biscuits are fresh! Not the packaged dry stuff. It's buttery, flaky, and chewy! I did ask for jam and butter on the side so I could my biscuit separate from the egg, cheese, and bacon. It deserved 110% of my attention. They had also a great selection of sweets which I will need to come back to try. Peanut butter sandwich cookie... I'll be back for you. So if you're looking for a homemade meal, made straight from the kitchen, this is the place to find it.

I had been looking forward to trying Atlantic No5 for quite some time. It's a bit out of the way from my office, but I finally decided to make the walk for lunch on a beautiful day. The inside is adorable. It has a relaxed, cozy, yet upscale feel. And something they were cooking created the most delicious aroma throughout the restaurant. The menu is pretty limited but contains all the lunch standards. You won't have trouble finding something to eat. The breakfast menu sounds incredible, and judging by some photos on Yelp, it is. I decided on the "Pick 2" combo and chose the chicken salad sandwich and tomato soup for $10. It also came with a bag of Lays chips. I couldn't fight the temptation from the lovely dessert case, and got a no-bake dessert too. The food was good. Amazing? No. But good, for sure. The tomato soup was rich and creamy. My sandwich was fine, but I'd order something else next time. The raisin-pecan bread on my sandwich was unique, but other than that, there wasn't anything special about the chicken salad sandwich. Not sure why it's a "Specialty Sandwich" worthy of increased prices. I'm eyeing the grilled cheese for next time. The most important note I took away from my experience: the portions are small. Yes, they're close to what an actual "serving" should be (dietarily speaking), but be prepared for a much smaller meal than you're used to. If you have a large appetite or are a very active person, you might want to order an extra side, dessert, etc. If I hadn't got my cookie, I would've still been hungry after my meal. I will say, my no-bake treat was delicious and huge. It was bigger than my sandwich. All in all, I liked Atlantic No5. Would I make the special trip for it on a regular basis? No. But I liked my meal and the place. I'll definitely be back to try more.

I've been to Atlantic no5 a couple times now because it's so close to my office. I really like coming here because is a break from the the traditional Starbucks and the staff is so sweet. In additional I love the decor of Atlantic no5; it has a great vibe! I've mostly come for coffee/chai breaks, but lunch and snacks are good here as well--though if you come at noon you will hit a major lung rush! I'm a big fan of their salads and their sweets (scones, roundabout)!

I need to update my initial review because after having breakfast and lunch here a dozen more times in the past several months I have changed my mind. I think some things have changed at Atlantic No 5...and all for the better. The portions seem like they have changed, to be more in line with the pricing of the menu. Also...I have had the pleasure of trying so many of their baked goods and now would say that they have some of the tastiest around! Try the oatmeal butterscotch cookie. The atmosphere is so nice and bright, and the staff are always friendly. I love that they have daily specials that are always so different and yummy. I wish I could stop in here every single morning for one of their breakfast biscuit sandwiches. Wow! Soooo savory! I still really enjoy the look of this spot and find it relaxing to just sit and savor my food over a slow lunch break.

I love this place! Very cool ambience, clean decor. Everything here tastes like it was made with love. Definitely try anything baked, cookies, cupcakes, they are the best. Their menu changes everyday, which makes it easy to come here more than once. Next time you want a sweet treat, or unique lunch downtown, try Atlantic No. 5!

I've identified this place as something that helps make Louisville awesome. Great food, friendly employees, relaxing atmosphere, and water and iced tea waiting for you to pour a glass. It's a great place for me to conduct commerce. I can get boring paperwork finished, have a lunch meeting, and it's relaxing all the same. My absolute favorite thing on the menu is the biscuit doughnut-- don't ask just give them your money and they will give you goodness in return (it's better if you ask them to warm it). The coffee is fantastic as well.

Very friendly. Great food. I accidentally spilled the coffee syrup on the floor and the staff was very friendly and took care of cleaning it up. :-)

This is a really cute, kind of posh, little lunch spot, in the heart of downtown! It was steadily busy, but the service was quick, and the ladies behind the counter were very kind! I ordered the grilled cheese with asiago bread and swiss cheese. It was savory, piping hot and delicious! It came with a small handful of chips, so if you want more than that, I suggest buying one of their bags of chips! Though, they also have healthier side options such as fresh fruit cups and the like! I also ordered a bowl of the creamy tomato soup and it was really good and filling! The pricing might be a tad high for soups and sandwiches, but it is really tasty and I would definitely go back for more, in the future. The perfect lunch spot for those who work downtown, or for anyone who is in the area! Check it out, you won't regret it!

Derby City Joe Review #16 What makes this Coffee Shop Sing? One of Louisville's newest coffee shops is also one of its coolest. Atlantic No.5 serves up delicious coffee and scrumptious food in an incredibly well designed space that's as comfortable as it is hip. "It's that one downtown with all the lunch boxes." That's how I've heard Atlantic No. 5 described several times in recent months. To be fair, as one of the newest additions to Louisville's coffee scene, they haven't had a tremendous amount of time to make a detailed impression. But let's address that topic straight away. One full wall of Atlantic No. 5 is indeed loaded with over 80 vintage, iconic lunch boxes featuring a smorgasbord of pop culture from the last forty years. Curated on custom built shelves, it is more like an art installation than random coffee shop décor. And, yeah, it is worth the visit to come in and pick out YOUR favorite. (Mine is the GI Joe one straight out of 1987. Yo JOE!). A keen eye might spot a singular irregularly shaped lunch box that's considerably older than the rest. It is an industrial lunch pail forged many years ago by the "Atlantic" company. The model? The Number 5. Eureka! Overall, Atlantic No. 5 is visually dynamic and attractive. The space is upscale without being pretentious. It has a clean look and a sharp design with elements that include low hanging light bulbs, high ceilings and stools that face out large, front windows. It feels more like Tribeca than downtown Lou. Call me a snob, but I think it's a swell touch when coffee is served in a uniform, branded mug. The Joe here comes in white Atlantic No. 5 mugs that match the aforementioned functional design throughout. Classy. Clean. Inside that mug, they offer various Sunergos blends which rotate out as quickly as they can get through a 5 pound bag of beans. I enjoyed the cumbersomely named "Tanzania Peaberry Ruvuma." A big sign behind the bar reads "Caffeinate yourself" and touts the many drink options from espressos to mochas and beyond. Atlantic No.5 also offers a full menu with complete lunch and breakfast options. Along with fresh and delicious looking salads, the pastries and deli case provide additional options if you're looking for something to nibble while on the move. The soup of the day was an ambitious sounding Thai Carrot concoction. They have even secured a beer license which allows them to sell bottles and cans (just clap your hands). A steady crowd made up mostly of young downtown professionals and casual business meetings keeps things busy. Think Ad Agency workers, KET staff, and art and museum types wandering in and out. Despite opening just this past October, it certainly keeps the welcoming staff behind the counter on their toes. Atlantic No.5 is owned by the same successful entrepreneurs who operate Rye on Market Street. They seem dedicated to making this java hut a big success. There are plans to expand their tea menu and they appear quite invested in cultivating and perfecting a food menu. I dig just about everything about this place. I really do. This is one great addition to the list of quality local coffee shops. Coffee of the Day - My Tanzania Peaberry was bold, smooth and sweet. Complex flavors that justify the complex name. My mug left me wanting more than my caffeine shy body can handle. Some hints of fruit, but nicely muted behind bold grounds. All around great. Cost of a 12 oz mug of Joe - $2.10 Cost of a Refill - 50 cents Décor- Clean and sharp. Remarkably well done. Crowd - Young professionals and beyond. A more cynical take would be to call this a "scene" coffee shop where you can see and be seen. Music - Vintage Led Zeppelin, Allman Brothers, The Band, John Hiatt and more. All played at a nice suitable volume. Comfort Level -H igh on the comfort scale. Come with a novel and enjoy the quiet buzz and friendly staff. There is some outdoor seating as well as what is (in my opinion) one of the prettiest blocks in this city. Wi-Fi-: Three big free & open options. It's actually becoming more notable when I don't find solid Wi-Fi whilst on my Derby City Joe adventures. Bonus - A few steps down the sidewalk from Atlantic No. 5, you can sit on a bench and get your picture taken with the perpetually smiling statue of Mayor Farnsley. No matter what kind of day you're having, that guy is always in a good mood.

There are those reviews where you want to praise the place, but not so much that everyone turns your favorite new haunts into something too popular for you to frequent anymore. In that way, writing this review at Atlantic No. 5 is tough, but I want it to stay open, so alas...here's a review. I've been desperate for a coffee shop that also serves food and in that way, Atlantic No. 5 popped up on my list and blew me away. Breakfast, lunch, small bites and mains were well beyond my expectations and if you're a tea sommelier or wanna be, they've even got a small loose-leaf set of offerings too. Did I mention they also serve beer? It'd be epic if they were a late night spot, but maybe in time there will be enough of a business case for that. In the meantime, if you're in the area and looking for a spot to stop for a drink, bite or brunch...you can't beat it.

This place was whack. I get it... Proof, Rye, both in the category of the greatest. But seriously you guys, how dare you serve such small portions when there are a dozen other restaurants within a five minute walk. I basically left hungry. As the server was approaching with our food, I said to myself, "please don't be ours." The plate itself was only double the size of my fist. And while we're on the subject of the plate.. Can I please tell you that my plate was chipped and the detail was so obviously redrawn with sharpie. Real bad. The food: not really that great at all. I got the cauliflower sandwich.. It was creative and pretty good. But definitely not great and definitely not worth the price. My beau got the salami sandwich, which was about 3-5 slices of salami, pickles, and a squirt of mustard. The thinness of the sandwich inclusions was comical. Stack three quarters and you have the total height of the sandwich insides. It looked like Russian prison food. The sides were just as boring and non-appetizing as the sandwiches. Two stars go to the atmosphere and the service. The waiter was really patient with me; it somehow took me about ten minutes to choose between the mere 5 meal items on the menu.

I had the chicken salad bowl. It was some of the best chicken salad ever! Crunchy pecans, celery and nice chicken chunks, resting on a bed of fresh greens. Toss on some of the awesome balsamic dressing they give you and you have one delicious light lunch! I'd like to tell you I had the will power to keep right on going past the dessert case, but I saw the Mint Chocolate Chip Brownie. I bought the mint chocolate chip brownie. It was like a giant, soft, thin mint cookie. AMAZING end to a tasty lunch! Will definitely be back!

The counter service offers smoother transition than last time I was here. Menu items were limited but of fresh and high quality. Don't expect big portions but do expect high prices for the quality. I had the butternut squash soup which was perfectly accented with curry spices. My son enjoyed his salami sandwich. The coffee again is excellent. The decor seems to change but is always spotlessly clean. Counter service and you get your own water--seems like a lot to expect a tip when you pay before knowing if you are happy with the food. It was difficult to be on a plant-based diet and gluten-free here: Barley or dairy added to plant options. All food is served in real plates or bowls ;) nice to have a quality option downtown.

Scenario: One minute to six and I have a splitting hunger headache. I am bee-lining to Atlantic No. 5 because I need a premade sandwich stat (for both hunger and because I'm late for another appointment). Thank goodness the sign said "open" as I walked into an empty store. One look at the waiters face and I knew that I had just crossed the "you are literally the last customer of the day, and I hate you with every ounce in my being, because I was seconds away from putting up the "closed" sign and going home to finally relax" line, that was so clearly written in every bit of his expression. Unfortunately for him, I could not stand one more second without eating because I thought my head was going to explode. Fortunately for me, he was (despite the look we've all received more than once), very pleasant and friendly. Even made a few recommendations as to which sandwich was tasty. I tried to speedily order, eat, and jet. But the whole time, both waiter and waitress inside assured me that it was okay, I didn't need to run - it was okay. I think the total interaction took about 10 minutes walking in to walking out. I've gotta give the lady and gent a high five for sticking out those last few minutes. My head and stomach thanks you because gosh that Garden sandwich really hit the spot! All of that being said, this was not my first time here, but it will have me back for more as the staff, food, and décor are entirely too pleasant to pass up! P.S. If I had had time, I'da ordered a cortado or an iced espresso or something to go because their espresso machine is absolutely gorgeous. If I recall, they sell Sunergos, which is pretty delicious.

What an adorable little place this was. Had a fruit smoothie which was really tasty and i quite enjoyed it. The enviroment is really great with nice room. The staff was really nice and polite. Very friendly and knowledgeable if their menu. I would suggest this to anyone.

I'd seen photos of scrumptious looking food from here from various friends. So following the Coffee Concert of the Louisville Orchestra the other day, I decided to venture across the street to give it a try for lunch. I had the grilled cheese and a chai. The sandwich, with onions and goat cheese was amazing! And the chai was also very good. My friend got the Mediterranean bowl. I tried some of it, the curry cauliflower in it was surprising! Spicy, but delicious....that is one way to get me to eat cauliflower. And the bread it came with....YUM! It's a cute space, clean lines, bright, with a display of vintage lunch boxes. I hope to get back here sometime!

The bacon and soft egg sandwich is a must and the coffee is locally roasted. Super friendly service. Nice find.

A gem. This is an "order at the counter" place, but the food is delicious and healthy. Basically this option is always a good one. Today: Roasted asparagus soup with goat cheese and a ham and fontina baguette, with bread pudding. Winning!

If I had a little bit less dignity, I would write this review middle school girl style with hearts, a plethora of exclamation marks, and caps lock all the way. This place is my go-to for meetings or small breakfast/lunch dates. The thing I appreciate most is the fact the menu is healthy AND good. I find most deli cafes make you choose between the fatty, scrumptious ruben sandwich or the pitiful, bland salad. At Atlantic No. 5, you don't have to choose. Everything is good, whether it's their chicken curry salad on kale or their fontina grilled cheese sandwich. The place is owned by the same people who own Rye, which is a testament (or taste-ta-ment) to their dedication to quality, local, enjoyable food. They also serve Sunergos coffee, which pairs wonderfully with everything on their menu. Beer and classy sodas are also offered. The design is beautiful - I could sit here all day. There are oceans of light from the large front windows, and Edison light bulbs for those dark, rainy days. It's a place that is relaxed, but still perfect for when you just need to sit down with your laptop and work. If I had one negative thing to say about the place, it would be that it's a bit pricey. But you know what? It's worth it, so I don't care.

Good downtown lunch spot and a nice break from the chains that so many frequent on 4th at. Ordering is a bit slow as they have only one register and I do wish that they would update social media more frequently as that does make a difference of where many of us choose to dine.

Really great little place! A coworker and I braved the cold and walked down here for a coffee break last Thursday. We were waited on immediately as it was 11am. I ordered a latte and was told they make their own chocolate and vanilla syrups so I felt like I should try one. The vanilla was delicious! My friend got a chai latte and she was happy with her drink as well. Staff was very friendly and informed us the coffee is local Sunergos. I like that! The decor was really hip and fresh and we both enjoyed walking down memory lane talking about the tin lunch boxes displayed on the wall. The food looked delicious so I'd like to come back for lunch. I'll be updating my review then!

After hearing so much great buzz about this new Louisville lunch spot, I had to try it out. And it did not disappoint. First of all: the atmosphere. I love the clean design of this very urbane spot. It's casual but not disorderly. Suits can sit next to jeans. And while it's bright with a white palate, it's not sterile or boring. I love the old childhood lunchboxes on the wall. Next, and perhaps most important, the food: I got the smoked salmon tartine. It had ample salmon on it for being $8, and it also included cream cheese, capers and red onion relish on a baguette. It comes with a lot of cream cheese, but it is not overwhelming. I also got a coffee, which was strong without being bitter -- just like I like it. My friend got the rustic tomato soup, which included goat cheese. Now that I've seen this delicious soup, I don't want to ever eat tomato soup without goat cheese on it again. So yummy! The next time I'm at Atlantic No. 5 -- and there will most definitely be a next time -- I want to try one of the bakery items or sides. The grilled cheese also looked like it would be a great compliment to a cool day.

Awesome sandwiches, soups and coffee! My boyfriend and I shared the Fungo Formaggio, the Mediterranean Wrap, and a cup of the soup of the day, which was a deliciously creamy roasted red pepper. The coffee was delicious - from what I sipped from my boyfriend's mason jar Americano - and definitely reminded me of home (Portland, OR). Hope this little eatery stays open for a while!

I have to say in all honest: I have Ben to this place five times since it opened. The first three times were pretty good. I tried their soups and panini sandwiches and their chicken salad on potato bread roll. Everything was quite good and tasty. But the last two times I went there at lunch I have had two extreme bouts of intestinal discomfort of the rather explosive, projectile nature. And each time I had a completely different lunch. The first was the chicken curry and coconut soup with the kale salad and a pastry. Today it was the broccoli cheese soup with grilled cheese and bread pudding. I'm not sure if it was the seasonings in the soup or the type of flour or yeast(??? Possible, even??) in the baked goods but I had the literally 'stick a cork in it' for the rest of the afternoon. And no, I am not sick with the flu or anything. It passed after a couple of hours and I'm back to being a 'regular' kind of guy. But that stuff makes you think -- makes you not want to go back again. Once is unfortunate, but twice in a row? That's a disturbing trend. ...just sayin'

Now that the season has changed they no longer have cold brew. An iced Americano will do well in a pinch.

This is a nice location, and a swanky but casual restaurant. The environment is really nice. My problem with Atlantic No5 is you just don't get a lot of bang for your buck. I am a growing boy, and 3 meatballs for $10 just isn't going to cut it. The meatballs were good, but tasted rather similar to meatballs my mom makes that is just ground beef and salsa with some spices, so I have a hard time justifying buying something like that. Overall - good, but I would recommend somewhere for downtown lunch that gives more food for better prices. The coffee is sunergos so I'm sure it is good. It's the food I have a problem with.

I came to Louisville for a quick, one-night trip and wanted to make the most of my meals there. Boy am I glad we did some research and settled on Atlantic No5. Having been to Rye about six months ago and loving both the ambiance and the food/drinks, I had high hopes for their more casual lunch spot. My expectations were more than met! Every part of our meal was fantastic, and the decor is on-point. It sounds cliche, but the place makes you feel like you stepped right into Brooklyn. We were there for lunch, but their breakfast/pastry/coffee situation looked very promising. To eat, I chose the meatball bowl, which consisted of three generously-sized beef meatballs in tomato sauce and slices of buttered garlic bread. The balls were perfectly seasoned, light but not falling-apart, and overall just delicious. My girlfriend had the Mediterranean bowl, a beautifully plated mismash of hummus, pickled veggies, beets, beans, couscous, feta, and crusty bread. We also shared a side of sweet potatoes, which, like everything else, was great. I can't wait to go back the next time we're in town!

This restaurant gets it right. Decor - clean, light, perfect. Food - innovative, good healthy options, always tasty. Sorghum salad - refreshing, filling, phenom. Sesame spaghetti squash - fill your craving for asian flavors with a lot less calories by including the spaghetti squash. So good. And if you like soup, try the coconut squash soup - with a hint of curry in it. Mouth-watering. Enjoy. This is a phenomenal lunch spot!

Really nice afternoon break. WFPK playing overhead. Great vibe, unique pastries and very spacious. Coffee had a smooth taste. They even offer Mexican Coke (made with sugar cane) if you aren't a coffee person. Note to self: remember to wear plaid shirt and beanie on next visit so that I fit in with the ironically uniformed staff and customers

The service was professional and prompt. The food was well done and delicious! The coffee was hot and the taste was phenomenal. The atmosphere is relaxing and we'll executed. The store front is one of the most beautiful I have seen downtown on this trip.

Stopped in for lunch today with co-workers. I walk past the cafe often but today was my first time venturing in. Something about the title of the cafe said "this is a candle shop" to me- and the decor inside is reminiscent of a store for natural bath products, with tall ceilings, light-colored decor, exposed brick and unfussy drink ware and accessories. The line at noon was long but moved fairly quickly. I got one of the best grilled cheese sandwiches I've had in this city, choose your own bread and choose your own cheese- I went with a wheat with smoked Gouda and cheddar. Grilled cheese of the day is also available and today's was bacon and Brie. With my grilled cheese, I got a cup of tomato soup. Plenty of salads and other sandwiches were also available. The salad of the day was something absolutely delicious-looking with edamame and beans, served in a little glass jar. I feel that the prices were very high for just lunch, even though the menu is high quality- a grilled cheese and soup cost $11, ouch. If you're looking for a nice cafe for lunch, I recommend. If you're watching your budget, head elsewhere.

I dont know how I feel about this place. I mean it is adorable inside, with lots of seating. Coffee is quite good. But $6 for a sandwich the size of a White castle slider? and all it consisted of was bread, a slice of bacon and a poached egg. Oh and a small cup with a tiny bit of sriracha in it. Menu is limited and seems to lean heavily towards sweet things rather than savory selections.

I wish I could rave about this place like everyone else but I don't get what all the hype is about this place. I came in at 3pm so I was literally the only person in the building other than the employees. I will admit I am not into some of the hipster/"healthy" foods but I figured I would find something. So I ordered 1 Ham Baguette, bag of chips and a coke. It took almost 10 minutes to get my food. Partly due to the fact the girl who took my order, left for her shift while I was waiting. I paid 13.78 for what looked like a 7 inch baguette with like 4/5 very thinly sliced pieces of ham and some mustard. That was it...The bread was good but I would have been happier to go to Subway. If your not into the hipster food places.. I would avoid this one guys.

I absolutely LOVED this place. I moved to Louisville from NYC a year ago and this place definitely took me back to the city. I'm a fan of Rye so when I found out the owners of Rye owned this place I was very exited and hopeful. The ambience was really great with cool decor, good lighting, nice open space, and beautiful exposed brick walls. The food did not disappoint at all. I ordered the Mediterranean bowl which was unique, quite healthy and very tasty. My coworker ordered the grilled cheese and it was UH-MAZING! The prices were pretty good and the service was friendly and quick. All in all, great new find and I can't wait to go back!

Fantastic. Best lunch spot in downtown. The prices are a tiny bit steep for what you are getting. The menu is constantly rotating and they have a quality coffee bar as well. The decour is fantastic and much like the interior of its sister restaurant Rye.

I walked in just because I was hungry. It was a pleasant surprise to see it's a cute coffee shop. I really wanted to have a light lunch and couldn't decide. Then I saw they have grilled cheese. So delicious. I was surprised that it had goat cheese. First time and it was so good that I went back the next day to have it again. coffee was great too. Wish there were more cute coffee shops back home.

I just had lunch here for the first time. I had the curried chicken salad and a chai tea. Pros: -Ambiance: Beautiful decor. Feels more like San Fran than Louisville -Location: Really convenient for downtowners -Food: The sandwich was delicious, especially the warm potato bun and crunchy pickles. The chai was also really good. -Service: Usually I'm kind of anti-hipster waitstaff, but the folks working here were really nice and competent Cons: -Value: As other reviewers have pointed out, you dont get a whole lot of bang portion-wise for your buck. The curried chicken sammie was $6 (listed as $9 on the online menu, so maybe they listened to customer feedback?) which I thought was a fair price. My lunch mate got the toasted cheese and was not happy with the value. -Hours: Open at 10 for breakfast! Hahahahahahah. I will definitely go back and would recommend this place. If you're looking for a heartier sandwich in the same price range, check out 123 Deli.

Atlantic No. 5 is a little bit of an anomaly for its location, but in a good way. The entrees are quite tasty (I've had the Rotisserie Pork, the Beef Meatball Bowl and - when they had it - the smoked salmon), though perhaps a tad overpriced for a few of the items. The desserts have been hit or miss for me, though I've only tried a couple. The cinnamon bun was nothing special, especially at $3, but the macaroon... Wow. Extremely good, and cheaper (I think it was around $2). The atmosphere definitely falls into what most people would probably consider "hipster" (if that word even has meaning anymore). The general/intentional "worn" look of the decor and the vintage lunch boxes definitely have a charm though. Most of the bench seats look to have electrical outlets paired with them, so working on your laptop while you eat is an option. The staff also seems very friendly. All in all, I like the place. If you haven't tried it, and you don't mind quality over quantity, give it a shot.

Friendly staff, good coffee, good food. Just a comfortable and nice place to be. Excellent breakfast - would recommend the granola or oatmeal.

Good espresso and Americanos, but only offered in one size. The atmosphere is just ok, equal parts urban rustic and minimalist yuppie. It's a fine place, but not special.

The decor is simple. Trying to be an old interior from NY. The food is trying to be interesting with sorghum salads and the Moroccan chicken sandwich. I had the rotisserie pork, which was fine but small. A bag of chips is $2 extra and they are from Deep River. Same size as all other chip bags. Overall, it was fine, nothing to be all hype about. It is overpriced for their products though. $8 to $9 for a 5 inch long sandwich with no sides. I think the price should be $6 to $7 per sandwich for what you get. Perhaps they will figure this out since they have been open for two days.

Traveled here for Forecastle and am so happy I stumbled upon a coffee shop that knows what they are doing! Inexpensive food with a great taste!

Congrats to the design team on this project. Very comfortable and a nice touch with having plugs and USB ports along the Banguette. The service line is a little odd in that you order in the middle of the line, pick up your coffee at the beginning of the line and your food is brought to the table. This is just something that will take a little time to get used too going forward. Hours of operation. Why do you serve breakfast M-F but don't open until 10 AM? Most people downtown (I live and work in the area) are ready to eat lunch by 11 or 12. We had the breakfast sandwich and while it was good i cant figure out what makes it worth $6. It was tasty and perfectly executed but it's not very big and doesn't come with any accompaniments. Maybe if we knew that the egg was from local chickens, the bacon was homemade or the bun was made fresh each morning we would feel OK about $6. Overall though we look forward to see how this restaurant evolves over time.

I came here for 502 Restaurant week and I was super impressed! While I do wish the 10$ deal was all the time, most sandwiches are 8-11, which isn't too bad. You can also add a piece of fruit for a dollar! I got the chicken salad and an oatmeal cookie (they were out of choc chip). The chicken salad was really good. It came out on raisin bread which I was wasn't too enthused about, but loved once I bit into it. The oatmeal raison was so good too! I loved the ambiance of the restaurant. It was light and fresh, and has a nice amount of space. We were lucky and got to eat outside. This is definitely a place I'd recommend for a light lunch!
